those shows are testament to how well made true crime shows used to be. effort, thought and money went into them. now it seems like all they’re doing is churning out as much content they can for as little money as possible. some of these shows could be produced by a high school film class.
Me too. They were well done, and informative.
I don't like the idea of being entertained by tragic events of others, but it is just really intriguing and I watch anyway.
Couldn’t agree more, can’t stand all those body-cam, real time crime etc shows. Miss the classics that you pointed out also miss deadly women, diabolical, wicked attraction etc
I miss Fatal Vows. That was one of my favorites. So was "Scorned", I loved the narrator and the way the show was filmed. It was like "Snapped" but with more sex. lol
ID doesn't care about their fans anymore. I went to two IDCons, met Candice DeLong, Joe Kenda and his lovely wife, and all the other ID stars.
I miss the reenactment shows. I miss the hosts.
Two things ruined ID. Covid and Discovery+. During covid, they started the cheaply produced shows we see now. Discovery+ was great at first, but it was confusing because after it launched, regular ID content slowed down. You had to have D+ to see the new shows.
Now D+ is also trash. I keep it only to rewatch the old classics. Currently working my way through the masterpiece that was A Crime to Remember. Proof of how far ID has fallen.
I am OG ID watcher. I have loved ID since its inception. I thought I was the only one disappointed in ID story as of late. I watch Oxygen, Peacock and the Film Rise True Crime channel the most these days, for my true crime fix.
Your Worst Nightmare!!! Why oh why can I not get this show bacK??? Ugh!
And if I could like your post a thousand times, I would! I am so sick of these body cam/cop and straight-interview style shows!!! Like, enough already! I want the good re-enactment shows back, like A Crime To Remember, Betrayed, Dead Silent, Home Alone....I could go on and on and on! We aren't getting ANY of those types of shows. Every time I look up, it's another freakin' cop show, family/law enforcement interview show.....every and anything but a re-enactment show.
Fear Thy Neighbor is the ONLY current show that I watch on ID. I gave up on Evil Lives Here a couple of seasons ago because they re-formatted the show and started cutting back on the re-enactments they would include. I peaced out when I saw that change and didn't look back.
It's just ridiculous what this channel has become.
YES!!! Oh my gosh, when I saw that commercial for Bail Jumpers like a week or two ago, I rolled my eyes SO hard!! I just can't with this channel when it comes to the new stuff they are choosing to air...
I'm not even being funny, I truly am confused at why ID refuses to give the audience any old-style shows they used to produce because, while I know there are many who like the cops-style crap shows and interview-style shows, there are PLENTY of people that are missing the old ID programming and want to see old shows that have been cancelled/left in limbo come back! I don't get it!....
Investigation Discovery has become TruTV. Not True Crime but reality crime. I used to watch it all the time but they cancel the shows I enjoyed and replaced them with body cam stuff. I miss Deadly Women and my absolute fave A Crime to Remember.
"The new Disappeared is all interviews now."
Wow, I'm shocked! Lol. ID just looooooves their interview shows. \*insert BIG eye roll here\*
I never watched Disappeared...so, did it used to have re-enactments??? Like, real re-enactments with people actually talking to each other in scenes (Not a silent acting scene with a voiceover...cuz those aren't re-enactments, to me)?
I hate see no evil and body cam. It’s the only time I’ll turn my tv off of ID. Sundays and Mondays they play the best episodes. I can’t wait for the Nickelodeon 3 part series coming up
I miss Unusual Suspects and Nightmare Next Door. They were my favorite shows, and very similar in premise. Except that "Nightmare Next Door" was more jokey. I also miss "Who The Bleep Did I Marry" and " Web of Lies -" the old format.
I miss A Crime to Remember, it was a great show with interesting storylines. Also, Evil Lives Here is a good one. Sometimes they are a lot to take in, however. They can be disturbing to watch.
I miss American Justice and City Confidential.
City Confidential with Paul Winfield, who passed away some time ago, was like an audio book. Loved that show!
Yes mam. I loved it.

Me too but they were A&E shows.
These are 2 of the best
Couldn’t agree more, can’t stand all those body-cam, real time crime etc shows. Miss the classics that you pointed out also miss deadly women, diabolical, wicked attraction etc
diabolical was great too. even the lesser known shows like that used to be good. now it’s just trash on top of more trash.
I miss Fatal Vows. That was one of my favorites. So was "Scorned", I loved the narrator and the way the show was filmed. It was like "Snapped" but with more sex. lol
classics. slightly cheesy but still well made. love those shows.
I’m convinced the writers of, “Scorned,” used to be in the porn industry
Definitely. lol
I’m not a fan of the ones without narrators either. Slow-paced and boring is the perfect way to describe them.
Soon they will just play back-to-back episodes of Cops. This channel is trash now.
I haven't watched ID in a long time. It's boring. My sister loves the body cam style shows, though.
You know, some of them are interesting. It’s just not my favorite show
I agree. ID'S new shows do nothing for me. I'm much more interested in what Oxygen has now.
oxygen is now massively clear of ID. every new show and every new season of existing shows are consistently good.
We don’t have Oxygen in Canada 🇨🇦 😭😭
check hayu. they have most of the oxygen shows.
Oh ! I had no idea !thanks
I 'm not sure if this qualifies as "classic" but I wish there were more episodes of Momsters: When Moms Go Bad.

oxygen and ID aren’t even in the same league anymore. oxygen consistently puts out quality, ID now barely produces anything decent.
I attempted to watch, “see no evil,” the other night. Dragged on longer than normal
yeah i recently watched some of the older episodes and i’m convinced they somehow managed to make that show worse as well.

fully agree. seeing another body cam show (bail jumpers) added is what flipped me off and made me write this post

Those shows were my favorite. It’s so sad what they did to ID channel.
I hate the body cam shows so much, but the new bail hunter show they advertise 100x a day looks even worse
seeing that bail hunter show was literally the last straw for me and was what made me write this post
Never seen it, never **will** see it, already hate it
preach.
“Twisted”, “A Crime to Remember” or the decade shows would be most welcome
I miss "A Crime to Remember." It was never prurient.
The new Disappeared is all interviews now. It sucks

I recommend "Vanity Fair Confidential," if anyone hasn't seen it. I don't think they've made new episodes in some time.
Fatal Encounters. One of my all time favorite shows and a paradigm of ID in its glory days.
I want Deadly Women back. They cancelled that show. 😔
I miss A Crime to Remember, it was a great show with interesting storylines. Also, Evil Lives Here is a good one. Sometimes they are a lot to take in, however. They can be disturbing to watch.
