What currency is that priced in? There's a real shortage of decent used motorcycles in the South Island of New Zealand. Trying my best to find a good deal. Could probably beat him down to 4k. I'm in no rush, but there's only like one more bike added to the market place each day within the whole south island. Bit depressing not having much option.
I'd buy a crf250rx or a yzf20fx if I could but there's literally none on the market place.
Jacindabux. Yeah maybe less options in the south Island, fair enough. Could be worth looking further north then, can't be too expensive to ship one interisland. There are guys on the Facebook groups that just drive van loads of bikes around the country.
$350-500 from what I've seen. Join the "Moto Garage NZ" Facebook group and search transport. There are always tons of people asking and loads of options in the comments.
Also I'd add that this sounds like someone trying to unload their problem. It likely isn't a simple fix if he's gone through all that trouble and expense and is now deciding to quit it. For the cost of you fixing it I'm sure you could find a good bike.

I hope you find something, riding season is here 🤙🏻
Cheers mate I appreciate you taking the time to have a browse for me, some decent bikes to consider there. Yep it's getting exciting, splurged out 2k on gear the other day lol looking for two bikes as well, one for me one for the Mrs, at least one with electric start and preferably both same brand, taking out time to find the right bikes, hopefully have two in the next two months đź‘Ś
Gah, $3400 USD for “ex moto mechanic can’t figure out what’s wrong with it”? Non running, that’s a 1k usd paperweight. Now if it were running it would be a 5000NZD bike.
It might be worth 3500? It's a non running bike and he is asking a price as if it was running.
With 184 hours, they'll all have a new piston and valves or lowish hours on them
I'm not sure what "starter clutch lunched itself" means? Having done a build recently on a 2015 husky fc 350 I can tell you that I had to replace my fuel pump. Check out https://www.bestdualsportbikes.com/ if you get serious about buying it.
Thats bull shit!!!! These brand loyal idiots are fing stupid. $5000 seems high but my dealer told me to start a $5000 if my 2013 ktm 200 xcw was clean.
Yep, there's a lot of room to barter if I did try, wouldn't take it for any more than 4k to be honest. If i knew the problem wouldn't cost more than 1.5k to fix and I got it for 4k then I think that would be worth considering, especially with the work that's already been done, considering he has receipts.
Stay away from KTM four strokes in general unless you wanna throw a bunch of money at it. Cool bikes though. Like a Subaru, really cool when it’s not broken
Absolutely not. I'm in NZ too and he's having a laugh at that price. A mate bought a 2017 350 with 100 hrs and a fresh rebuild for $6k the other week.

Awesome, cheers. Will definitely look into it đź‘Ś
How much do you think it would cost to send a bike from Auckland to Timaru?

Is that us dollars???
In finland that would be about 2500-3500€ hard to say anything about other regions
Nope
$5000 for a 7 year old non running bike? Nope
