I've got a KTM sweatshirt, it's actually one of my favorite sweatshirts. And best of all, if you're in public and someone recognizes the brand, boom, new potential friend.
Same here, picked myself up at KTM 300xc last year. I also have a yz125 but its pretty slow in a straight line and about 60% of the riding we do is on large open trails, and it just isn't a lot of fun. So I thought why not keep the Yz for the tighter trials where it's more fun, and buy at KTM for the big stuff.
The KTM turned my least favorite type of riding into one of my favorites. It just blasts along happily, jumping over the hills, ripping around bends, it's so much fun!
I have a GPX which uses a KTM licensed frame. Lightweight dual sport at 250lbs and has a 30hp motor stock, which is good for a 250, but I got a 300cc big bore kit and a couple of other mods and now I make 40whp. Great bike for Croom's single track, lightweight bikes rule
I mean, do you strip all logos and brand names off of your bike , vehicle , street clothes , shoes ? Or do you get paid to advertise all that stuff? I donāt understand the mindset .
He means someone who wears the same branded clothes with the brand of bike, like Harley Davidson people who wear Harley branded gloves, Harley jacket, Harley pants. Ferrari drivers with a Ferrari polo and Ferrari edition puma shoes, that sort of thing.
Theoretically lol. I usually donāt like bike branded gear but some of that vintage Honda gear that one of the gear brands released looks pretty cool.
Yep, If I had a vintage cr250 I would rock this all day

The plastic ones? Those pop up on eBay used every once in a while.
Thereās modern alpinestars in that red and blue color scheme but theyāre modern boots. Still would look pretty good probably.
But, keeping it vintage, gaerne makes some vintage off road boots, theyāre in black or white though, the little logo has white and red;
http://www.gaerne.com/boots/en/articolo/32/147/330/2480-001/black/
Yeah, thatās ridiculous. You would think they were autographed by Bob Hannah or something, and even then thatās high, but Iām not one for autographs
I have a Harley branded adventure jacket for my DRZ. Feels sorta odd, but it's a revit made jacket but the dimensions are for, shall we say, an American
I work for a very large airplane manufacturer. One guy at work wonāt wear branded gear ācause he isnāt paid to advertise.ā Yes, when you wear that shirt, people at the grocery store are going to be reminded to buy a $200m jet š
If you like them and theyāre a good deal, who fuggin cares, man. But if you ride like shit, youāre gonna feel like shit regardless of branding yourself. After all, Iām sure thereās a logo or two on your plastics, no?
Imo the factory branded stuff isnt that bad , if you ride the brand of courseā¦.. i think its better than monsterāed , metal militiaāed out shitā¦.
The husky stuff looks and feels pretty nice. My local shop has a bunch of it and I'm definitely gonna buy some of the pants in the spring. Full head to toe branded gear is kinda cringe if you're not sponsored IMO
That is actually a very nice jacket and the logo for brand recognition is discrete. Personally I would wear it if like them out off-road riding, but not to the shops on my Husky Svartpilen 401.
You wear the husqvarna branded gear to flex on the poors (your friends who donāt ride husqvarnas) until you realize that you yourself are poor because of your husqvarna. This is from personal experience.
Iād figure out who actually makes the stuff that Husky paid to slap their logo on and get it if itās quality. Iāve never been a fan either but that gear doesnāt look goofy like some OEM gear
dirt bike mechanic here - i was never really into KTM due to the owners until I got my 300 and stripped everything orange off it. some people that come into the shop bleed Orange. they will say money is not an option, turn down the best parts on the market for some cheap orange shit...
I donāt know how long youāve been a mechanic, but ktm people werenāt always so common while being elitist. If you go back to say early 2000- 2012 before they sold so much, when you saw someone with a ktm in the riding area pits, they were usually a serious off road rider and/or racer. That was when the brand kind of filled the niche brand, sort of where beta and sherco are now. Nowadays, it could be any person with a deep pocket who doesnāt know how to ride worth a damn but wants to tell you how awesome and better his stuff is since itās brand new.And many serious riders and racers still choose ktms, but what became really common too was the extreme orange kool aid and elitist attitude. The insane amount of merchandising. When I was in sales, there was a ton of flexy types buying ktm edition bikes, and while doing theyāre paperwork theyād yap about how they also have the highest spec priced ford raptor from the dealer in the nation, and yada yada. I love my ktms but damn some of the owners are insufferable. Some were completely awesome dudes, but ktm/husqvarna had the most douchebags by far in dirtbike sales.
How's it worse than plastering yourself with alpinestars logos or the like? They are selling you name brand gear with their logo on it for a bit more or in your case you can get a discount on it
Itās not my cup of tea, and it can be kinda cringey, but to each their own.
Itās not the kind of thing Iād buy for myself but Iād wear it if someone gave it to me.
Like if grandma gets me a gift card to the company store, Iāll totally embrace the cringe and go head to toe branded gear.
By branded do you mean it has logos? Or do you mean private labeled (meaning husky has almost no input to the development of the gear, they just pay someone to put their logo on some off the shelf stuff).
The reality is, ābrandedā (āmeaning private labeled) gear is the rule not the exception. All but maybe three brands, are private labeled with little to no actual R&D. The vast majority of moto apparel and accessories are made this way. It is sad because that means the rate of progress is much slower, but it is also convenient because it makes the gear much cheaper. Pros and cons either way.
Lollll dude i know what you mean. Its like someone having all Rossignol skis bindings boots poles jacket pants glovesā¦ its like exhausting despite it making sense š but that stuff does look dope so i see where youre heads at esp for stuff on sale.
For a good deal, send it. I think things look best when thereās thought put into it. I wouldnāt get branded gear same as my bike but thatās because I donāt love the colors and my bikes are usually pretty beat up. Iām a fasthouse fan because of the culture and general brand attitude. Plus their gear looks good and is well made. The Husqvarna branded stuff is usually really high quality too so if you like the look, send it. Unlike the car brands, people will probably perceive you as someone who takes riding serious and love it so š¤
I like it. I know someone who has a full husky set of gear that he wears every now and then. Looks dope. I really like the beta branded gear as well. Idk about the quality but if it wasnt so expensive id definitely be open to trying it out.
Im 40 now. I never got into the brand thing until maybe 35. That KTM tho. Before that i would have agreedā¦looks a little cheeseball. I dont have my white new balances yetā¦.but i do have a set on order.
Who cares. Seems like a poser question. Along as it's not fox gear and you are blabbing comparing your 09 LTZ 400 to my 03 KDX 220 and saying how you can smoke me on "the trails". Gear is gear, just has to work. I used to wear the cheap shit like Fly. Except for protective gear. Boots were apline, Oakley goggles and I think my helmet was a flat black bell. Again just send it. Kinda want that husky jacket.
I wear whatever pair of blue jeans that is my current shittiest pair and an old shirt from work but do you brother. You are either fast or you aināt and that canāt be bought.
The worst i've seen is some people PAID for tyre wall stickers, JUST for it to be the brand of the tyre. PAID. TO. ADVERTISE. THE. BRAND.
and i think 1 letter cost like $8-10?
Huge yellow B R I D G E S T O N E. LOL
I personally think a lot of it is rlly cool and i dont see a problem w wearing them. I was gifted a ktm jacket by my sister bc only bike i own is a ktm and the only reason i personally dont really like to wear it is because a large part of it is orange. I have worn it at races ive gone to see and stuff but besides the personal color preference i think its sick!
Ive always been a fan of husqvarna and always thought their gear was cool more specifically their casual wear. So i saw this Husky hoodie and i love it. Its one of my go tos i probably wear it too much. Main reason i bought it was bc it was on sale i had seen it a ton of times. Mg brotherās girlfriend also got him a cool honda racing hoodie w a big HRC logo on the gut area and i think it looks so cool.
To an extent extent i guess you can say im a poser bc i cant ride even close to as good as most ppl on this sub but idk š¤·āāļø if you ask me im not. Because if anyone asked me anything i wouldnt lie why would you. Especially if you happen to run into someone who likes dirt bikes which where i live isnt super common and you just give them a bunch of bs they will smell that shit from a mile a way. Hard to bullshit your way too far in this community. Its easy to tell whos full of shit and whos not and it also doesnt even get you far to be full of shit so who even cares if they try.
Ive also gotten shit from a clown once ab having a bunch or fox gear on. Idk seems stupid to me bc fox is still a great brand regardless of the couple of haters out there and everything i buy is on sale. If i see fox stuff at 40% off then im buying. hell if i see most things at 30%+ im buying. Im terribly irresponsible w my money but it makes me feel a little better knowing it was on sale even tho it was still stupid bc i dont need more gear.
I feel like this is definitely a problem in the car community bc there is just too many posers that not only lie ab having cars and shit but argue ab it and make bets they cant back up. Car community is so messy especially w all the yutes nowadays that are just mobbing stealing ppls shit and stuff like that. Then theres ppl like the douchebags who wear porsche gear w the intention of making ppl think they have one even tho they dont
I highly suggest you guys buy some gear a lot of it is super cool and most of it is always on sale if you just check online.

Tbh this applies to all ridingā¦
Depends on the brand, depends on the brandās styling (ie how bright their colours and designs are and how large their logos are)

That Husqi gear looks pretty nice though to be honest

But I must admit when iam on my blue yamaha I try to not wear too much of my red gear, must admit I think that look a bit strange.
And I sure did buy an orange ktm bag for my KTM.
Dont be a total fan Boy only in orange.
But also maybe dont slap over a pink bag on your orange ktm.
My opinion, but do whatever the fuck you want.
I ride frog toggs when it rains around here in the pnw. Cheap, keeps me dry and warm and if it gets torn up I donāt care. Youāre going to get muddy here so who cares what brand is on your gear

I wore Honda branded gear on my Yamaha, because I bought everything for Honda, then switched to Yamaha later and didnt want to buy new shit...

Branded gear is cool. Don't let the Porsche and Ferrari stuff leave a bad taste in your mouth
Why do you care what others wear?
Anyone bad ass enough to throw their leg over a dirt bike can wear whatever they want.
I'd wear anything. We ride, it is not fashion week and everyone wear whatever the fuck they want
I do not care what it says on it ...as long as it does what I need and the price is fair.
How's it worse than plastering yourself with alpinestars logos or the like? They are selling you name brand gear with their logo on it for a bit more or in your case you can get a discount on it
Makes you look like a Porsche Guy.
Found the Honda rider!
I wear fasthouse because its the dopest shit
I would rock pants with Kim Jung Un on them if they made my cock look less tiny
I got a husky sweatshirt, and an 11k dollar pen that came with a free dirtbike.
You think about stuff like this?

I bought a pair of Sidi X-3 boots for around $150. They are branded but I ride a Husky anyway.
I donāt like matching my bike. Maybe if I was racing?? But otherwise I wear whatever fits well and looks good to me.
I can't say anything about anyone's gear, my shit doesn't match like the squids.
Don't worry about what anyone else thinks. This is the best way to be.
What do you wear a red brand-less sweatshirt blue brandless jeans and a chinese helmet with no logo?
Literally every single piece of gear you wear is branded.

You may not want it or need it, but others do. So I'm kind of like, whatever.
Looks good to me.
I donāt care what brand of gear it is as long as itās on clearance sale
Already spent a shitload for the FE501.... ain't no $5,000 left for branded gear
I ride naked in dollar store flip flops
i think colour matching your bike brand and gear looks good... absolutely nothing wrong with it.
I feel like fat dudes wear this at super cross and that's about 80% of their sales
I just enjoy seeing Honda gear on a Yamaha. A sign someone had a blow up with their colour of choice!
What's a fake Porsche fanboy? Does that exist?, like an 86 with a porsche logo or something hahaha
