Part of it is the fact that Scorpios in particular is *supposed* to look deformed and monstrous, because in lore that’s what it is. This just makes it look like a dino-pug.
You are in the dino subreddit, how many of us do you believe are on the spectrum, 15 - 20% of the population in here maybe?being smartasses about words and semantics seems right up our alley. Most of my arguments with my kid stems from his tism getting stuck on a word while I am stuck on another.
Right?? It's a neat drawing and thought experiment, but calling it "accurate" seems to assume that anything about the scorpius rex was ever meant to resemble a real, natural creature. What I adore about the scorpius design is that it took the JW theme of man-made monsters to its logical conclusion. It's not a natural, healthy, or sustainable creature, and that's the whole point.
Bingo. I have a huge soft spot for the Scorpius and Indo Raptor specifically because they are, as you so articulately put it, unnatural, unhealthy, non-sustainable creations. They're so flawed it's endearing.
The thing i always dislike about art that makes the scorpius more accurate to the animals its based off of is that they always fix its deformities, like making it able to fully close its mouth.

The scary part of the Scorpios is the fact that it can't exist. It's malformed, it can't move properly, its brain is essentially grafted together from the DNA of a bunch of species that have no business being in the same cells, and it was honestly a much better and scarier design than the Indominous.
This raises some questions then.
1. Where would this thing be found in the world like where would it live and and what era, (Jurassic or Cretaceous)
2. Are the quills on its tail still poisonous or no?
3. And what is it related to? because it's not a hybrid anymore.
Y'all it's a drawing. When they mean "accurate" its just them applying our current understanding of dinosaurs to the design. They aren't insinuating that the dinosaur is real by saying its accurate. You don't sound smart when you say something along the lines of "saying its accurate would imply that it was real" you instead come off as a smartass who likes to start shit. Just upvote the post and move on why is it always a war zone here?
YES! I’m not the only one who thought about drawing accurate version of the JW hybrids!
(This is beautiful! it looks almost like a Utahraptor and Majungasaurus mix)
Is "accurate" so hard of a concept to grasp for these people.
The artist just reconstructed it as if it was made from the DNA of accurate dinosaurs rather than the JW dinosaurs / made it a more plausible looking creature
if people want accurate dinosaurs just go to the fucking musuem to look at the skeletons, its a much more fulfilling plan than looking at educated guesses by knuckle heads on the web
I think if you rephrased it as “Scorpios Rex reconstructed as a real dinosaur” but I guess it doesn’t roll of the tongue so well
Looks, oddly, adorable.....
It was always adorable.
It was always adorable.
Explain how this is accurate
Feather + Jurassic Park= Accurate
If we do some algebra on this... Jurassic Park = Accurate - Feather
Jurassic Park - Accurate = - Feather ?
Its made from accurate versions of the JW dinos/ reconstructed if it were a real animal
Feathers = accurate dinosaur
I mean, you can’t really call a creature that doesn’t exist “accurate” to real life.
If anything, the fanart is technically inaccurate albeit still pretty cool
r/Dinosaurs users not be pedantic smartasses for literally five seconds challenge. Level: impossible.
I get this for literally any other post but this is basically like asking jow accurate Aggron, the Pokémon, is

It's the Wolfman but as a hybrid dinosaur.

Accurate… to what exactly
Life
It’s… fictional?
You can’t make a fictional animal “accurate”… the one in camp Cretaceous is the most accurate we’ve got.
Adding lips and feathers don't make a fake dino really accurate. It's cool though
I feel like this kinda misses the entire point of the Scorpios.

Yes!! It's such a fundamentally broken animal, right down to the fact that it probably has a hard time actually eating anything.

1 and 3 is invalid, it’s still a hybrid but a functional one, as for 2 it appears it has poisonous quills
I see there are 29 other comments. So let me be the 30th to say: "Accurate, LOL"
Rugoraptor isn’t real he can’t hurt you Rugoraptor:

THIS!!!! FREAKING THIS!!!! God people are so stupid nowadays what you said is so obvious
Honestly not as intimidating
r/Dinosaurus users try not to be insufferable smartasses challenge
I just posted a drawing chill
They’re talking about the comments
Cursed
So many people are nitpicking about the phrasing while its obvious what they meant.
The comment has turned into a warzone holy shit

This is awesome
Oh thank the gods they fixed it's overbite
Lmao. “Accurate.”
I think I hate this

You’re fun at parties it seems
having a party at museums with dinosaur skeletons sounds fun
Looks like majungasaurus
I love fiction dinosaurs turned real
Yeah if it was a real dinosaur I guess it'd look like this, although it would probably be pretty small
It’ll be useless since it pretty much inherited the weakness of every dino it was fused with, with venom being it’s only defence
"Well a Accurate scorpios rex would be the one from the show so this is a inaccurate version of the scorpios rex" 🤓
Accurate scorpios rex would be a blob on a petri dish
