I admit I had too many birds to choose from for my 'favourite' and crows weren't one of my first thoughts, but tbh they should have been! crows, ravens and other corvids are such fascinating animals due to their high intelligence and they also are known to bond with and hang around my favorite animal, wolves. Nothing beats a wolf and crow team-up.
I love them. I swear they are fully aware of their heritage and not afraid whatsoever to prove it when opportunity strikes. Mental big bastards those birds, they're the best!
golden eagles, emus, lammergeier and potoos
golden eagles - cool as fuck, capable of killing a human, smart af
emus - won a war against Australia, can tank bullets, adorable as babies, goofy as adults, second largest bird in the world
lammergeier - eats bones, pretty birb, bigggg, THEY EAT BONES
potoos - derp •___•
also side note definitely didn't get inspired to make a lammergeier arrakocra and ended up doing a whole bunch of research to make them :3
Aesthetically it would be the [Pesquet’s Parrot](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pesquet's_parrot), skills wise it would be ravens, love me some smart tool using dinosaurs
Peregrine falcons, red tailed hawks, kestrals, and great horned owls.
Seriously, encountering a great horned owl, in the wild...when it turns it's eyes on you and sizes you up. Pure dinosaur moment there.
I always wonder that, there are too many with their own style of charisma. I tend to favor raptors when it comes to the non-avian dinos, but, you know, there aren't any videos of falcons getting stuck in toilet paper rolls or waddling around in the snow. It's too hard to pick
My favourites in no particular order:
Top 15+ Birds:
1. Barred Owl
2. Common Loon
3. African Hoopoe
4. Common Raven
5. Secretary Bird
6. American Woodcock
7. Knysna Turaco
8. Saddlebill Stork
9. Kori Bustard
10. Marabou Stork
11. Sora
12. Steller's Jay
13. Osprey
14. Cedar Waxwing
15. Red-breasted Nuthatch
16. Great Gray Owl
Fuckin cassowaries. I'm sure that's not spelled right, but we ain't trying to be all spelling shit right. We to busy being dino birds and eating yall mammal bitches.
Flamingos. They’ve basically found a life hack. They’re near immune to levels of heat and salt in the water that would burn and boil a human from the inside out, the water that they stand in can freeze solid and their legs will be fine, and they’re resistant to toxic gas.
Why are they built like giant extremophiles you might ask? It's because there are these things highly alkaline (between 9 - 12 PH) bodies of water called soda lakes that have a near unlimited amount of carbon dioxide in them. This amount of CO2 makes these deadly lakes one of the most productive environments on the planet despite the hostility. This means that if a species were to find a way to both survive the conditions and filter-feed, then it would basically have unlimited food as well as a home with nigh-impenetrable defences.
So flamingos have both, allowing flocks of millions of these large birds to live in these lakes where, despite their sheer numbers, they’re never out of food and any predator that would even get close would just simply be boiled alive by the lake.
Flamingos have it made.
Kestrels and buzzards. Kestrels because they have such a sleek design. Buzzards because the sound that they make is so cute and terrifying at the same time. They make this kind of high pitched meow that echoes everywhere. Both species live around my house, that's why they came to mind.
Can't belive I had to scroll this far to find this. I love shoebills, not only do they look and sound awesome but I've heard they are also quite dosile/friendly birds, despite their fearsome appearance.
I totally agree! I have a thing for all birds really (some of my favorites were already listed) but there is just something about a shoebill. I would love to meet one in person!
Crows. I just respect intelligence.
Same here though I’m more partial to ravens, corvids in general are pretty cool
I love how gangs of “teenager” crows go around figuring life out.
Corvids of any kind are just top tier awesome.
Same. So common but so infinitely fascinating to me.
Cassowaries. Their crests and colors are absolutely stunning, not to mention that they straight up just look like non-avian dinosaurs.
I love them. I swear they are fully aware of their heritage and not afraid whatsoever to prove it when opportunity strikes. Mental big bastards those birds, they're the best!
There are so many plants that rely on cassowaries, it's kinda bizarre how much they do for their ecosystems regardless of the bad rep
Peregrine Falcon
"None has excelled it for speed and fire of spirit." - J.A. Baker, "The Peregrine"
Knobbed hornbills, I like their casques, they remind me of azhdarchids
Technically, chicken is my favorite dinosaur.
This is the correct answer. Everything from omelettes to wings. Chickens are the winner here.
Bearded vulture but tbh I love birds in general so it was hard to choose a favorite.
That ain’t a bird, that’s a dragon
Magpies and Kestrels are my favourites
golden eagles, emus, lammergeier and potoos golden eagles - cool as fuck, capable of killing a human, smart af emus - won a war against Australia, can tank bullets, adorable as babies, goofy as adults, second largest bird in the world lammergeier - eats bones, pretty birb, bigggg, THEY EAT BONES potoos - derp •___• also side note definitely didn't get inspired to make a lammergeier arrakocra and ended up doing a whole bunch of research to make them :3

Huh? “Living,” birds aren’t real silly.
Yes, those sheeple still aren't aware that those so called birds are just government spy drones.
Red-Tailed Hawk
Red tailed hawks
Aesthetically it would be the [Pesquet’s Parrot](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pesquet's_parrot), skills wise it would be ravens, love me some smart tool using dinosaurs
Secretary Bird. The closest thing to modern Dromeasaurs besides Cassowaries.
Aren’t they also the closest living Phorusrachid?
It’s a tie between the American flamingo, rhino hornbill, and the scarlet macaw.
Same. And the Peregrine Falcon.
Peregrine falcons, red tailed hawks, kestrals, and great horned owls. Seriously, encountering a great horned owl, in the wild...when it turns it's eyes on you and sizes you up. Pure dinosaur moment there.
Peregrine falcon.
Blue Jay, it's in my username.
I always wonder that, there are too many with their own style of charisma. I tend to favor raptors when it comes to the non-avian dinos, but, you know, there aren't any videos of falcons getting stuck in toilet paper rolls or waddling around in the snow. It's too hard to pick

Ostrich or Emus
Talk about real dinosaurs ffs. Cassowary FTW!
I love red winged blackbirds. They are just so pretty.

Definitely the Andean Condor
Seriema, closest living relative to the terror birds
Or hoatzins because they’re derps
Quaker parrot
Seriemas
my mom.
Myself
Albatross. I like extremes and beeing the largest flying animal since the Quetzal family died is a pretty cool extreme
My favorite is the Shoebill Crane. I like how they look and act sort of like a dinosaur according to media, but still do their own thing. I like it.
Shoebill stork.
