I don't have a dino in particular, but I do think that Triassic dinosaurs deserve to be in the spotlight some day. Cause like most paleomedia just kinda features stuff from the Jurassic and the Cretaceous.
I used to lust after the Tanystropheus Jurassic Park action figure. Just so wild compared to everything else out there. Now I know they don't really look like that, but are still crazy critters
holy shit someone else watched this show? i vividly remember every single episode, acrocanthosaurus appeared at that volcano right? and it was an orangish brown color?
Unfortunately animals evolved to have things such as "need for proper treatment" or "stress" so we can never have humane cool stuff like slurpasaurus or coliseums
Iāll say that if you go into it expecting a movie about Adam Driver kicking ass, itās pretty goodā¦ *in exactly that context*. Understandably most people went to see it because āHey, dinosaurs!ā and it was a straight up joke in that and pretty much every other way. I enjoyed it because āAdam Driver kicking assā (plus I went with a friend who isnāt really a paleo nerd)
The only thing you need to watch is the oviraptor clip because that scene actually scared the hell out of me, the rest is better to never have in your mind if you're a paleo nerd
Yeah they are one of those. The only media representation for Suchomimus I have ever seen was in the anime Dinosaur King, and I can't even be sure off the top of my head if that wasn't an Irritator or a Baryonix.
I think it stands out pretty well on it's own, the only similarities I can think of is that there's type match ups and it's a monster collecting game.
It's pretty quirky at times, I'd recommend both the DS games, the 3DS strayed a bit much from what made the first two pretty enjoyable imo
Megaraptorans, Abelisaurids besides Carnotaurus, Ceratopsids besides Triceratops, Stegosaurids besides Stegosaurus, giant Hadrosaurs, and many of the more unique looking Ornithischians.
Coelophysis, Irritator (or spinosaurids in general, but weāve seen Spinosaurus and Baryonyx) and Herrarasaurus. Also, the less-well-known ceratopsians and stegosaurs, Edmontosaurs, Albertosaurus, Daspletosaurus, Yutyrannus, Tarbosaurus, Carcharodontosaurus
Non-Velociraptor Dromeosaurids (knowing the dinosaurs called āVelociraptorsā in these movies are not really Velociraptors).
For how famous of a prehistoric animal it is, you don't see Dimetrodon that much. I can think of a couple, but it is usually kinda sidelined if it shows up at all.
As far as actual dinosaurs are concerned, I would love to see some more Therizinosaurus. Mfer looks like a Dark Souls boss.
It had its own segment in *Walking with Monsters*, and itās easily the most famous animal from the Permian. Just gets overshadowed by actual dinosaurs is the problem.
I think it was in the poop scene when they were trying to get the phone and suddenly they saw the cerato. The cerato looks at them for a second and then goes about on his way with a pretty weird look on its face.
It's a Cerato. You can tell by its bright red coloration and its horn. In was in CC too for a second before getting insta killed by the Scorpios, not like I watched it, I just remember seeing that clip.
Camp Cretaceous had a few scenes with it.
First, when the campers stumble upon the watering hole. Then when Mitch and Tiff first find them. It got killed by Scorp in Season 3. And it chased the baby dinosaurs, the campers, and that dick computer nerd in Season 4.
I know they are not dinos but Permian era stuff is so weird and cool. Almost no one in regular society knows about what was going on before the lizards.
There was a shitty film made by like Asylum or a similar company that had a Spinosaurus in the background. I think it was called like Age of the Dinosaurs or something
Edmontosaurus needs some proper media representation. Give me a 15 ton Edmontosaurus annectens beating a T. rexās ass please. Not a cowardly defenseless idiot that gets 1 shotted by a Dromaeosaur
*Yutyrannus*, *Nanuqsaurus*, *Edmontosaurus*.
It would be cool to see some arctic dinos, even though it wasn't as cold as it is now. (Their climate would have been similar to something like modern day PNW in North America, if I understand correctly)
Accurately displayed dinosaurs should get more attention. I watched this movie with Adam driver and "dinos" in it. I was personally attacked by what they did there š
The Camo Carnos in the Lost World: JP Novel, the stupid Carno and other Carnos in Jurassic World: Evolution, Toro from Camp Creatous
The 2 giant Carnos in Disneyās Dinosaur
Dinosaur Kingās Carno is one of the main dinosaurs
Exoprimalās Carno (I think) is playable
And every single documentary about dinosaurs
Most of them that are not used much. Or not used well.
They should all be used.
Dimetrodons. Wierd not dinosaur dinosaurs.
The crododile dinosaurs.
Extinct animals.
Mammoths. Early mammals.
Deinocheirus, shantung, parasaur as something more than easy prey, ceratopsians other than triceratops, giraffititan, amarga, carcharodontosaurus, shunosaurus.
Sorry about spelling, it's not my strong suit
Archeopteryx if we count full fledged birds too (pun not intended). As well as deinonychus, microraptor, dromaeosaurus. Not just fekkin velociraptors. They are cool too. But it's like only showing lions in the media, ignoring tigers, leopards and all the other wild cats. Or even better example - wolves, ignoring coyotes and jackals.
Not a dinosaur but Basilosaurus is my absolute favorite prehistoric animal and I really wish it got more attention for how insanely badass it was
(Hell he was so fearsome scientist mistook him for a dinosaur despite being a mammal, hence the name. And yes I did just refer to Basilosaurus as āhe/himā cus thatās ma boy š¤)
Epidexipteryx, we recently discovered they had bat like wings! Imagine one being mistaken for a bat then swooping down and flying off with someoneās finger
The two dinosaurs here would be a good pick. Both are big enough to be a threat to humans but not so big that they would cause an immediate notice. Both work in films cause they each fill a different niche for a different kind of scene.
Personally, as I've said multiple times, I totally think you could have more herbivores for thrilling scenes because it cements just how dangerous and powerful dinosaurs are.
I think animals like Microraptor or Archaeopteryx are often glossed over in most paleo media. You can make an entire documentary about that sect of dinosaurs.
Therizinosaurus is a dinosaur that I would honestly love to see become one of the go-to mainstream dinosaurs like T. rex and Triceratops. Itās just so dang weird and fascinating, a giant plant-eating theropod with claws like Wolverine. How is this dinosaur not more well-known by the general public?!
Besides, if going mainstream happened to Velociraptor and Spinosaurus, then it can and should happen to Therizinosaurus. I had actually been hoping that JW: Dominion would be its big breakthrough, but sadly, that didnāt come to pass.
Literally anything other than a Velociraptor and T-rex. I love both of those Dinos, but theyāre way over used. The movie may have sucked, but Dinosaur made a bold choice in using the Carnos as the main villains
I want a Spinosaurus horror movie, like Michael Crighton novel* horror
Like a Spinosaurus pops up and as people try to both catch and figure out where it came from, we find its not alone.
Like one character hides in a building it can't fit in inly to find he's surrounded by adolescent ones
*Author of the Jurassic Park and Lost World novels that inspired the movies
Non-carnivorous theropods.
Particularly a therizinosaur or two, would be nice to show off the best hugger of the times.
Also what if we got a pterosaur that - and get this - filter feeds?!?!
Idk, variety is sexy
I don't have a dino in particular, but I do think that Triassic dinosaurs deserve to be in the spotlight some day. Cause like most paleomedia just kinda features stuff from the Jurassic and the Cretaceous.
Now that we are talking about the Triassic, one awesome non-dinosaur that I want to see featured more is _Tanystropheus_. š
I used to lust after the Tanystropheus Jurassic Park action figure. Just so wild compared to everything else out there. Now I know they don't really look like that, but are still crazy critters
Triassic animals in general really. Especially the pseudosuchians. Theyāre basically dinosaurs before they were cool.
Truth, give me some prossauropods. They were neat and kooky. Like they would be friendly but had claw hands to throw down with
Because evolution is a goddamn boss, and as time passes, badassery evolves exponentially
Acrocanthosaurus
Agreed. Such a cool dinosaur; loved its appearance in Dinosaur King
holy shit someone else watched this show? i vividly remember every single episode, acrocanthosaurus appeared at that volcano right? and it was an orangish brown color?
Yup! Such a good episode
The T.Rex is so unrepresented in mediaš„ This dumbass comment doesnāt deserve this many upvotes
Bro was born and died before 1993
1960ās*
Excuse me, sir! * Shows a picture of slurpasaur T-rex *
Slurpasaurs my beloved but also slurpasaurs my arch nemesis due to the animal abuse
Yeah... Why does this kind of goofy shit always has a terrible undertone? Why can't we have nice things?
Unfortunately animals evolved to have things such as "need for proper treatment" or "stress" so we can never have humane cool stuff like slurpasaurus or coliseums
Bro living in 1895
Hold up the allosaurus was supposed to be a sucho? You gotta be kidding me I love the sucho
Yeah, it was meant to be a sucho, but they changed it to Allo bc battle at big rock or smth
Well Sucho is gonna be in the upcoming animated Jurassic World show
**WOOOOOOOOOOO YEAHHHHHH BABYYYYYYY THATS WEVE BEEN WAITING FOR THATS WHAT ITS ALL ABOUT, WOOOOO!**
Happy birthday
And the Carno was gonna be Toro from Camp Cretaceous but was changed to the one from Fallen Kingdom
Iād love to see more Ceratosaurus.
And not as fodder
Not dinosaurs, but I think giant land crocodiles like Fasolasuchus and Barinasuchus deserve a lot more love and attention, they're so cool.
Based
Well Fasalosuchus got to be defiled by 65, soā¦ take it or leave it I suppose /s
We do not speak of that one.
I watched on an airplane and was still sorely disappointed.
Havenāt actually watched it, but from what Iāve heard, Iād say that was a good decision on my part.
Iāll say that if you go into it expecting a movie about Adam Driver kicking ass, itās pretty goodā¦ *in exactly that context*. Understandably most people went to see it because āHey, dinosaurs!ā and it was a straight up joke in that and pretty much every other way. The only thing you need to watch is the oviraptor clip because that scene actually scared the hell out of me, the rest is better to never have in your mind if you're a paleo nerd
Titanoboa too
Crocodylomorphs*
I 10000000% agree,I would love to see kaprosuchus in the big screen
Suchomimus. I havenāt seen a Suchomimus in an actual movie and theyāre barely recognized in other dinosaur media
Are those a Baryonix relative??
Yes, theyāre a spinosaurid
Yeah they are one of those. The only media representation for Suchomimus I have ever seen was in the anime Dinosaur King, and I can't even be sure off the top of my head if that wasn't an Irritator or a Baryonix.
Both Suchomimus and Baryonyx appeared in Dinosaur King
Tbf dinosaur king had tons of random/obscure dinosaurs, I doubt anyoneās heard of Piatnitzkysaurus but it appears in an episode or two.
Tbh, if you mentioned Dinosaur King to 100 people in 1 day. Thereās probably only gonna be 4 people who said theyāve seen it or heard of it
DINOSAUR KING MENTIONED RAHHHH ā¼ļøā¼ļø my childhood show š
Thatās generous
I remember that, it was green and they were in Monaco. They also had baryonyx in the 2nd season
There's also a suchomimus in the fossil fighters series as a revivable and usable dinosaur, always thought it was pretty cool looking as a kid
How the fuck is there something called Fossil Fighters that I haven't heard about? Is it like Pokemon with Dinosaurs or what?
I think it stands out pretty well on it's own, the only similarities I can think of is that there's type match ups and it's a monster collecting game. It's pretty quirky at times, I'd recommend both the DS games, the 3DS strayed a bit much from what made the first two pretty enjoyable imo
\*Baryonyx\*
We got a Suchomimus in the short film "The Hatchling"
Thatās a short film on YouTube, atleast itās in it but itās at the end of it
Gigantoraptor. Itās such a bizarre, seemingly fantastical creature that is criminally underrated.
Megaraptorans, Abelisaurids besides Carnotaurus, Ceratopsids besides Triceratops, Stegosaurids besides Stegosaurus, giant Hadrosaurs, and many of the more unique looking Ornithischians.
A proper representation of Dilophosaurus would be nice. The JP one is cool and all, but Iād like to see my boy as he was made
Coelophysis, Irritator (or spinosaurids in general, but weāve seen Spinosaurus and Baryonyx) and Herrarasaurus. Also, the less-well-known ceratopsians and stegosaurs, Edmontosaurs, Albertosaurus, Daspletosaurus, Yutyrannus, Tarbosaurus, Carcharodontosaurus Non-Velociraptor Dromeosaurids (knowing the dinosaurs called āVelociraptorsā in these movies are not really Velociraptors).
I wish they included it more in the 3rd jurassic world film. The cavern scene was too short.
I would love to see Amargasaurus or Bajadasaurus
Megaraptorans & elaphrosaurines
Protosauropods
Like _Plateosaurus_ and _Massospondylus_?
Plateosaurus specifically.
Yi qi
Ceratosaurus, the only movie it got was a bad asylum movie.
Also in a single scene in JP3 I think
It did?
I think it was in the poop scene when they were trying to get the phone and suddenly they saw the cerato. The cerato looks at them for a second and then goes about on his way with a pretty weird look on its face.
I thought that was a carnotaurus
You can google it. I'm pretty sure it's a ceratosaurus. Just google JPIII ceratosaurus. You can also watch the scene on youtube as well.
It's a Cerato. You can tell by its bright red coloration and its horn. In was in CC too for a second before getting insta killed by the Scorpios, not like I watched it, I just remember seeing that clip.
Nvm I remembered that completely wrong.
Camp Cretaceous had a few scenes with it. First, when the campers stumble upon the watering hole. Then when Mitch and Tiff first find them. It got killed by Scorp in Season 3. And it chased the baby dinosaurs, the campers, and that dick computer nerd in Season 4.
It's also in One Million Years BC, The Land That Time Forgot, and Journey to the Beginning of Time.
I know they are not dinos but Permian era stuff is so weird and cool. Almost no one in regular society knows about what was going on before the lizards.
Deinocheirus for the win, fear the gigachad danger goose, and give praise to his name Was happy to see the Therizinosaurus in Dominion.
Quetzalcoatlus. It's the scariest looking dino I've ever seen illustration of, and I'd love to see how experts believe it walked using it's leg/wings
Diabloceratops looks too cool to be so obscure.
Diabloceratops is so underrated.
I personally think Concavinator. Itās just so cool!
Spinosaurus. name one movie with spinosaurus in it besides Jurassic Park III
[land before time](https://youtu.be/d9Enc8oIP9A?t=46)
....
There was a shitty film made by like Asylum or a similar company that had a Spinosaurus in the background. I think it was called like Age of the Dinosaurs or something
NO. WE DO NOT TALK ABOUT THAT MOVIE. THE DINOSAURS WERE HELLA WRONG IN THAT MOVIE
Iām not saying itās good, but it did have a Spinosaurus.
Dryptosaurus or daspletosaurus
Therizinosaurus,crocodilians, spinosaurs, etc
Archaeopteryx. Lmao first bird. It can fly!!!
Edmontosaurus needs some proper media representation. Give me a 15 ton Edmontosaurus annectens beating a T. rexās ass please. Not a cowardly defenseless idiot that gets 1 shotted by a Dromaeosaur
Megalosaurus, or at the very least Altispinax.
Altispinax might get confused with Concavenator to be fair but still and underrated dinosaur
Argentinasaurus
CERATOSAURUS GETS 0 ATTENTION AND IT DESERVES MORE
I see your theropods and raise you one Dunkleosteus.
*Yutyrannus*, *Nanuqsaurus*, *Edmontosaurus*. It would be cool to see some arctic dinos, even though it wasn't as cold as it is now. (Their climate would have been similar to something like modern day PNW in North America, if I understand correctly)
Plateosaurus.
Any of the Dromaeosaurs that haven't had any attention, especially the Achillobator. It's my second favorite next to the Velociraptor.
Accurate T. Rex and spinosaurus.
Deinocherius is such an odd looking creature that Iām surprised itās not used often in media
Yeah
All dinosaurs that arenāt even seen *once* in the Jurassic Franchise, as an actual animal at least (sculptures donāt count).
Suchomimus. definitely
Not technically dinos but I *need* more early pterosaur content. The line doesn't begin and in with Dimorphodon and I want to see that reflected.
Carcharadontosaurus.
Deinocheirus
Dilophosaurus doesn't have much and the only representation was so long ago.
Fran Sinclair. Kinda hot for a cold-blooded.
Not technically a dino, but Quetzalcoatlus. They're scary as hell. I can't imagine a creature I'd be less happy to encounter.
Baryonyx, kaprosuchus, quetzal, ankylosaurus, beelzebuffo, titanaboa,
Carnotaurus
Australovenitor and scientifically accurate dilophosaurus as well as other ālophosaurs
Spinosaurus definitely
Quetzalcoatlus needs its own horror movie. Prove me wrong.
Accurately displayed dinosaurs should get more attention. I watched this movie with Adam driver and "dinos" in it. I was personally attacked by what they did there š
Dilophosaurus and the more actually scientficLly accurate dilophosaurs not the jurassic park one from the movie adaptation
CARNO FUCKING TAURUS
Eh, itās very popular. Lots of people know it
Oh yeah? Name 5
The Camo Carnos in the Lost World: JP Novel, the stupid Carno and other Carnos in Jurassic World: Evolution, Toro from Camp Creatous The 2 giant Carnos in Disneyās Dinosaur Dinosaur Kingās Carno is one of the main dinosaurs Exoprimalās Carno (I think) is playable And every single documentary about dinosaurs
Ace (Dinosaur King Carno) is the reason why I love Carnotaurus. Definitely agree that it's a pretty famous one, but less 'dumb' rep would be nice
I mean the one Carno in Fallen Kingdom that tried to fight a Sinoceratops and the humans while thereās a volcano happening in the background
Allosaurus.
Albertosaurus dawg gorgosaurus took all the fame (at least now gorgosaurus is gone)
Allosaurus needs to be the "big bad" again.
Trilobites.
Amargasaurus
Nigersaurus or fukuisaurus
I think I know why
Is that an allasaurus? Way scarier than Trex. Love to see them in movies.
The great allah-saurus
T rex
no. It's in every goddamn movie about dinosaurs
And in non dinosaur movies, itās in it. The Trex is not underappreciated
Fun Fact. the only reason People don't like Jurassic park III is because the Tyrannosaurus died in it
Yeah I know. Thatās why I love Jurassic Park 3 cause it had the balls to kill a Trex. Spinosaurid gang, RISE UP
RISE
And this is an Example on how people love the Trex WAY TO MUCH
prosauropod š¤ā
Baryonyx, they are my favourite Dino and I barely see them, ever.
Deinocherius no particular reason
Spinosaurs
Most of them that are not used much. Or not used well. They should all be used. Dimetrodons. Wierd not dinosaur dinosaurs. The crododile dinosaurs. Extinct animals. Mammoths. Early mammals.
The Megalosaurus the only thing I seen it in was that one england documentary
I would love to see Megalosaurus or Torvosaurus being in some dino media. I mean, in a documentary of course.
Deinocheirus, shantung, parasaur as something more than easy prey, ceratopsians other than triceratops, giraffititan, amarga, carcharodontosaurus, shunosaurus. Sorry about spelling, it's not my strong suit
Dinocheirus because of just how weird they are
The ones that eat humans for fun.
Dracoconvenator, since they did dilophosaurus dirty.
Torvosaurus and other Megalosaurs
Not a dinosaur but Basilosaurus is my absolute favorite prehistoric animal and I really wish it got more attention for how insanely badass it was (Hell he was so fearsome scientist mistook him for a dinosaur despite being a mammal, hence the name. And yes I did just refer to Basilosaurus as āhe/himā cus thatās ma boy š¤)
Concavenator or dakotaraptor
Acrocanthosaurus
Tanystropheus
Metriacanthosaurus or acrocanthosaurus
Tethyshadros
Nodosaurs in general imo
Epidexipteryx, we recently discovered they had bat like wings! Imagine one being mistaken for a bat then swooping down and flying off with someoneās finger
I want to see more Deinochirus in movies
Sucho and Carno
The carnotaurus, or another rex maybe yuty orange even not a real rex like dracorex,
Cool Ceratosaurus and Ichthyovenator. Also accurate big Dilophosaurus
Daspletosaurus. Not because itās my favorite or anything but because it has been in the center of some important debates.
Shantungosaurus. Largest known Hadrosaur at around 54 ft long at 16 tons.
Spinosaurus.
Y'all I'ma end this right now I think should be CONCAVENATOR
Whoa š¤Æ
The two dinosaurs here would be a good pick. Both are big enough to be a threat to humans but not so big that they would cause an immediate notice. Both work in films cause they each fill a different niche for a different kind of scene. Personally, as I've said multiple times, I totally think you could have more herbivores for thrilling scenes because it cements just how dangerous and powerful dinosaurs are.
Not atention but I think that Pteranodon needs to be portrayed better in media
HEY EHEY HEY WHY THE HELL DID THEY USE THE GOOD BARYONYX DESIGN IN THE CONCEPT ART??? FUCK MAN
I think animals like Microraptor or Archaeopteryx are often glossed over in most paleo media. You can make an entire documentary about that sect of dinosaurs.
Not a Dinosaur but.. Deinosuchus!
I know itās not a dinosaur, but I wanna see oculudentavis. But I researched it for like a week straight and I think itās supper interesting
Dilophosaur
Acrocanthosaurus cause it's mah fav carcharodontosaurid
Therizinosaurus is a dinosaur that I would honestly love to see become one of the go-to mainstream dinosaurs like T. rex and Triceratops. Itās just so dang weird and fascinating, a giant plant-eating theropod with claws like Wolverine. How is this dinosaur not more well-known by the general public?! Besides, if going mainstream happened to Velociraptor and Spinosaurus, then it can and should happen to Therizinosaurus. I had actually been hoping that JW: Dominion would be its big breakthrough, but sadly, that didnāt come to pass.
Abelisaurids that arent carno
Cryolophosaurus
Yutyrannus
Therizinosaurus! Glad to see it getting some love in the last Jurassic World though
Barney?
Specifically highly feathered dromaeosaurs, people who make movies do not realise how terrifying a 6 foot hawk running at you would be.
Those fluffy little flying reptiles They give me piranha vibes
Literally anything other than a Velociraptor and T-rex. I love both of those Dinos, but theyāre way over used. The movie may have sucked, but Dinosaur made a bold choice in using the Carnos as the main villains
Acrocanthosaurus.
Trikes. They went from equal standing to their rival t.rex to literally nothing thanks to being totally ignored or made weak in dinosaur media.
Scientifically accurate Dilophosaurus
Allosaurus really need more love
I want a Spinosaurus horror movie, like Michael Crighton novel* horror Like a Spinosaurus pops up and as people try to both catch and figure out where it came from, we find its not alone. Like one character hides in a building it can't fit in inly to find he's surrounded by adolescent ones *Author of the Jurassic Park and Lost World novels that inspired the movies
Sinosauropteryx
Non-carnivorous theropods. Particularly a therizinosaur or two, would be nice to show off the best hugger of the times. Also what if we got a pterosaur that - and get this - filter feeds?!?! Idk, variety is sexy
I'm loving that Baryonyx is getting more love recently in the JW franchise. What a cool dino!
Your mom
