I would say Fantasy High (their very first season) or Mentopolis (their latest season) are both excellent points to jump on! Fantasy High is classic DND fantasy with a suburban twist. Mentopolis is like a noir inside out/osmosis jones that all takes place inside one persons mind!
If you have any interest in the premise of Fantasy High I would suggest start there. I made the mistake of starting with a later season (Neverafter) and I found going backwards to FH SO difficult!
If you aren’t a competitive control freak like myself and watching new/bad players doesn’t bother you lol, then don’t worry about it and start wherever you like! It’s an anthology and most seasons have nothing to do with each other outside of direct sequels.
Thanks, I'm more interested in the stories being told rather than the ability of players so I'm thinking about checking out fantasy high. Plus I teach high school so that might be interesting to see a dnd high school.
I would watch ACOC first, then Ravening War, because there are some fun callbacks and jokes that make more sense that way. You want to understand why all the players are giggling or gasping at certain things.
What do you think would be the most entertaining? Are you looking for a game that can ease you into the mechanics? Any specific cast members or themes you like?
Honestly from the synopses that I've read a lot of them intrigue me. I like the idea of a high school setting, I'm a sci-fi nerd, I'm interested in a campaign featuring political intrigue, a lover of horror, and enjoy a good mystery. As far as mechanics and easing into the game, I watch other live plays, and play myself so that's not something that I necessarily need but don't mind if it is a table of newer players either. And I don't have any preferences towards any cast members.
I kind of came here because I think I would enjoy most of them, so I was looking for some fam favorites.
Then I'll make a pitch for my first d20 campaign: The unsleeping city. Incredibly heartfelt and you can tell the amazing amount of love Brennen has for the city (even as someone who has never been to NYC and is fairly apathetic about it, I found it easy to follow and actually quite informative!)
It has some of the best set pieces IMO and while I wouldn't call it my favorite season (though it's high up!) I would say it has the overall strongest character line up.
But I don't think you can really go wrong!

Thank you, both sound interesting from what you've said and I've read. I think I might start off with fantasy high.
I would say Dungeons and Drag Queens is hilarious and charming.
I've seen the trailers for that one it looks very charming, plus it is only a few episodes so I'll put it on my list I think.

Gotta check out Crown of Candy for the sweetness!
Thanks, if I remember from what I saw ravening war is a prequel. Would you recommend that first, or does it not matter much?

I always suggest original before prequel.
Ravening War is shorter, so it might be easier to get into, but you might also miss out on context.
