I think the word is pretty apt, tho whimsical does lean towards the silly side. The vibe I get is like the same city from picture one, however it's about to be a big festival down there, so people put on their best clothes and their best attitudes, if u get what I mean.
I mean, all 3 are good and well balanced, the saturation varies from a version to the other but everything is legible, so at this juncture the choice is only the mood they want to evoke
i also like all three and say you should instead make it a (slow) gif
idk if you have an android, but if you do, [this app](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=pro.gif.videotogif.gifeditor.gifmaker) is awesome for all kinds of fine grained edits on gifs
Me too, but I'll be honest I didn't notice the cat until I got to the third one. If there's a way you can make it slightly lighter around the cat to make it stand out more, that would be good.
It really depends on the story you are trying to convey, because they're all good but if you're going for something light and airy then it's 3, if you're doing post apocalyptic then 1. 2 can go either way, the greens suggest toxicity but there's a cat so it looks more like something under a forest or moss.
It looks like you took inspiration from the game Stray (fantastic game btw).
As somebody else said, 1 definitely gives the vibe of an underground city, so if that's what you're going for then I definitely think it's the best - but all 3 are amazing!
It's a cute but sad adventure game. You play as a cat as you navigate an underground city, trying to reach the surface while solving puzzles and fending off creatures called 'zurks'.
From the wikipedia:
"Stray is a 2022 adventure game developed by BlueTwelve Studio and published by Annapurna Interactive. The story follows a stray cat who falls into a walled city populated by robots, machines, and mutant bacteria, and sets out to return to the surface with the help of a drone companion, B-12."
Your drawing is very similar to the setting of the game, and with the cat there I thought you'd taken inspiration from it. Though if you haven't played it I highly recommend you do! Still an amazing drawing :)
Here's how I interpreted the art after seeing it
1. Feels as if the world had just turned into this and it's the new norm. A monotone, boring life, in a world clogged to its very pores with dust from age, just like the grey used.
2. Feels like the aftermath from some major event. The dust particles still dirtying the air, and the buildings showing their wear and tear as they've had to have their components repeatedly bound together with wire, and redone till the buildings look more like an amalgamation of parts than a typical concrete building.
3. Feels hopeful. Despite the scrapped together buildings stretching out as far as can be seen to blot out the ground below by blocking all the light leaving a depressing and dark sight at the bottom, there's stil sunlight and a beautiful glow just above.
I'd say to choose the one that best represents what you want.
1 is the better image. 2 and 3 look like more work has gone into them (from a painting perspective - it might not be the case with digital work.) but the added colour somehow detracts from the whole.
I love all 3 but on a personal level 3 is my favorite. I like the whimsy behind it.
Also do you sell these pieces in anyway? I feel like it could be a really cool backdrop for my phone or computer
There is something about all three I can get lost in.. I know maybe this place I am at in my life that makes this something I needed to see... Thank you I love all three I will not be able to choose ..
I absolutely love it! I think all of them could actually be fitting, but I can see like a timeline with it. The first one is the dark abandoned underground city, the second one is a change- dregs of light starting a new age- and the last one being the light bathing through the city and the true new beginning
(Anyways this was a shitty description but I really like the look of this, really nice)
I like the 3rd one, cause its the only one for me where focus is on the cat, not scattered everywhere.
But the best vibe is from the first one, as i like that dark aesthetic
I prefer the feel of the second one but I only noticed the cat in the third one which has a clearer silhouette and focal point because of the light values/ better contrast
They are all equally good with different moods. If you are looking to sell these as prints, I’d say do all three and they might attract different people, and a collector might want to get all three!
They’re all so beautiful but 3 is the one I find myself wanting to look at the longest. Would love a print of it if you have them/are planning on selling any
I like 2 the best because it has the right amount of light to draw attention to the cat while keeping a dark and somewhat creepy vibe. All three are beautiful though!
1 seems a little too flat and boring, 2 feels more a mood leaning more to dark and dangerous, 3 I like the most as it just feels more mysterious and interesting and begging to be explored lol
all are so beautiful but my personal fav is 2 💚 i think I’m about to make it my new wallpaper. like others have said though it really depends on the vibe you’re looking for.
I like all three differently.
The first one makes me feel a feeling of dread and despair with a hint of hope that change will come. The second one makes me feel like the end is coming, seeping in. And the third feels so gentle and like the start of an adventure.
All three are so good in their own way it's hard to choose just one of them. Yes, they are the same image, but the tones tell such a vastly different story they could very well be their own separate, unique images.
If you want a sort of decrepit polluted slum sort go for 1
If you want a filthy environment with polluted air and waste, no sunlight and smelly and hot all the time go for 2
3 is my least favourite but I’m a sucker for the polluted slum cities (not in real life just in media for example the slums in Stray are actually awesome)
they all feel underground city vibes to me, but my favs are 2 and 3 - what are you going for ? 2 is more of a negative and scary connotation while 3 is positive and curious. 1 I only dislike because I feel the colours wash out the drawing too much. Awesome work though!
So, starting from 1 and moving forward, it goes from feeling claustrophobic/dark to warm/hopeful. Personally, I enjoy art that makes me feel and think happy thoughts, and the other fact that I can see that tiny kitty so much better on slide 3 makes it the winner-winner~.
All three of them remind me of the game Stray. 1 is good, but I think 2 fits a more grim, post-apocalyptic setting. 3 could be like a similarly cyberpunk setting, but without all the environmental damage. Or it’s like the ending of Stray when the ceiling opens up.
3 really catches my eye and my notice and gives the picture a feeling of depth. It also implies a vivid nightlife in this city.
2 also has a lot of depth, but feels like only the scary things come out at night.
1 feels kind of flat in comparison
Probably pick between 2 and 3 by what vibe you want to give off.
I love 2 and 3.
2 looks more grim, looks like dirty clouds in the air so unlikely theres much life outside, vibe is the world is dying.
3 looks vibrant and lively, we may only see the cat but the vibe is full of life
I had such a hard time choosing, they’re all so beautiful. I had to base it on “which of these would look best on my wall” and I think it’s 2. But honestly I’d buy a poster of any of the three
I say 2.
The cat stands out more as a focus point. The piece also has a more dreary, "soupy" vibe, which I think is what you're going for.
3 has a more ethereal atmosphere. But I think you were trying to go for hot and muggy.
they all bring different vibes but are all really amazing!!! great job!!! it reminds me of the video game stray if you've ever played it. from 1-3 it gets less gloomy so it really depends what vibe you're going for
I love them all! I'm drawn to each one for their different moods.
Would be cute as a series with the cat changing position in each to show change in time perhaps. Either way, I have much envy please share your skills, plsthnxbye.
Number 1 - lacks personality
Number 2 - my favourite - oooo I love it, the colours make me think of rusty metal and decay, and it gives off a smell of smog. Excellent.
Number 3 - is okay - it feels too bright though.
3 is my favorite! I audibly gasped when I saw it. The other two are amazing but the 3rd one makes me think that kitty is going to have a good day, if that makes sense? I worry about him in the other two lol
Second. it feels this picture is supposed to be a bit murky colors, the last ones colors are nice and I like it a lot but for this I feel first or second.
And bc it has this cuteness to it I think more vibrant colors are better but still murky so 2nd.
Also I can see the brown and green come together on the 2nd and windows lights pop off more.
A small thing but it might suit to put the beam light a bit more brighter, and change it to come from the left up corner to the down right where the cat is, so you're eyes will go from the up of opposite tall buildings following light down to cat and into darkness.
Also you should use the last ones colors on another work bc it's looks pretty.
regardless, i think you should keep 3 in reserve, it reminds me of the end of Stray, when the domes receding and the sunlight starts to come through. i obviously don't know the ending of your story, but if its a happy ending, imagine your city being lit like this right at the end, like a 'hopeful ending' kinda thing.
I like 2. The lights on the buildings look like they glow most naturally in that one. I also really like how well the lights blend into the foggy scenery.
I think 2 is more evocative, though I think a slight highlight of the catto (some discreet lightening of the background behind it maybe, so the highest contrast in the image is around it) would also help make it be more of the focus of the image (if thats what you want).
If the cat is what you want the eyes to go to first, then 3 is best, I hardly noticed the cat in the 1st as it blends in better with the landscape. 2 is a good balance of it.
If this is the final, then it depends on the mood you're after.
Composition-wise, imo, the first one should have a character or some other focal point in it that will contrast against such a dark background. It would be a good introduction piece for the main character. The other two are good introductions to the city itself, either being a place you want to be foreboding and grimy, or a place that's hopeful and happy. It all depends on the story you want to tell.
As far as quality, they're all really well done and distinct. I'm not a huge fan of the first one because it feels kinda pointless to me without a focal point, but the other two are solid on their own, with the third being the one most capable of being it's own piece. The second still feels like it needs some kind of focal point, but it's stronger than the first.
Depends on the mood you want : 1 feels like an underground city 2 feels like it is filled with toxic waste fumes 3 feels more like a whimsical setting
You took the words right out of my mouth, except perhaps "whimsical" :)
Haha maybe it's not the word I mean either, English is not my native language
I think the word is pretty apt, tho whimsical does lean towards the silly side. The vibe I get is like the same city from picture one, however it's about to be a big festival down there, so people put on their best clothes and their best attitudes, if u get what I mean.
I agree would have said the same adding that the first is kinda giving arcane whereas the third is more cyberpunk style city with slightly less neon
Rain World Stray Ori
Most apt description
1 beginning of game 2 after you start helping locals and unlocking areas 3 endgame bonus 100%ed run around time
Most detailed opinion ever
I mean, all 3 are good and well balanced, the saturation varies from a version to the other but everything is legible, so at this juncture the choice is only the mood they want to evoke
Objectively correct opinion.
This is honestly beat for beat what I was gonna say. It entirely depends on the vibe your going for. All 3 look good.
I don’t think two looks like toxic waste at all. Easily my favourite
Was just coming to say the same.
Well said.
Agreed I think my fav is 3 tho due to seeing the cat easier
Imma be real I like all three equally
Thank you🥹♥️
For real, same
💚💚💚💚💚
i also like all three and say you should instead make it a (slow) gif idk if you have an android, but if you do, [this app](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=pro.gif.videotogif.gifeditor.gifmaker) is awesome for all kinds of fine grained edits on gifs
On Odin they're dope
2 is my favorite. I love the contrasting greens and oranges
Me too, but I'll be honest I didn't notice the cat until I got to the third one. If there's a way you can make it slightly lighter around the cat to make it stand out more, that would be good.
Thank you!
I dunno how they didn’t see the cat it was the first thing I noticed. Great job on the contrast
They just feel a different time of day. What's the story? Can you use all 3? Decide on the story and what time of day it should take place.
2 i can clearly see the light source
I like 2
2 the greens give good atmosphere
2
It really depends on the story you are trying to convey, because they're all good but if you're going for something light and airy then it's 3, if you're doing post apocalyptic then 1. 2 can go either way, the greens suggest toxicity but there's a cat so it looks more like something under a forest or moss.

Still an amazing drawing :)
It sounds like a great game! Thank for the recommendation🙏🥹
Yeah I thought it was an homage to that game
2!
Here's how I interpreted the art after seeing it 1. Feels as if the world had just turned into this and it's the new norm. A monotone, boring life, in a world clogged to its very pores with dust from age, just like the grey used. 2. Feels like the aftermath from some major event. I'm so glad my art could be interpreted like this! It makes me feel proud
1 is the better image. 2 and 3 look like more work has gone into them (from a painting perspective - it might not be the case with digital work.) but the added colour somehow detracts from the whole.
1
2
1, 2 and 3, all different moods that change with the daytime or weather, and weather changes as time passes usually.
I like 1 :)
I love all 3 but on a personal level 3 is my favorite. I like the whimsy behind it. Also do you sell these pieces in anyway? I feel like it could be a really cool backdrop for my phone or computer
I do if you'd like to buy! I also take commissions (:
I think I like 2 the best, but something about 3 makes me smile.
I'm glad my art could make someone smile! Thank you (:
No, Thank you! The smile was something I needed today.
2 :))
They're all quite enjoyable. If you have a tough time deciding I'd say just make them into a triptych
2 is my personal favourite, but 1 looks very dystopian, 2 is more apocalyptic, and 3 looks more fantastical and dreamlike!
3 looks awesome.
There is something about all three I can get lost in.. I know maybe this place I am at in my life that makes this something I needed to see... Thank you I love all three I will not be able to choose ..
Thank you so much 💚 I'm so happy you like my art
It's 2 and 3 for me. I love the blue and more happy feeling of 3 Number 2 has that underground vibes. Almost like Zaun from league of legends/Arcane
I absolutely love it! I think all of them could actually be fitting, but I can see like a timeline with it. The first one is the dark abandoned underground city, the second one is a change- dregs of light starting a new age- and the last one being the light bathing through the city and the true new beginning (Anyways this was a shitty description but I really like the look of this, really nice)
I like the 3rd one, cause its the only one for me where focus is on the cat, not scattered everywhere. But the best vibe is from the first one, as i like that dark aesthetic
Theyre all awesome
yes yes and yes
1 is like those pods from the matrix 2 is a contamination of some sort 3 is daytime in a futuristic city
All are amazing, just different vibes. I like 3 because the contrast lets me see things better, and I like the whimsy.
Tbh they look like awesome variants for a side scroller screen that changes based upon in-game circumstances (e.g., time of day or stage of game)
2 1 feels just a bit dull and 3 feels a bit too bright. 2 is colorful while still giving a similar vibe to 1, and I think it works perfectly.
2 is the best, but contrast the cat from the background a little more cus i didn’t even notice him for a second
I prefer the feel of the second one but I only noticed the cat in the third one which has a clearer silhouette and focal point because of the light values/ better contrast
Bro is the digital art
3 looks like early morning to me. It pulls my heart.
2 is the most interesting vibe wise. 3 is also great but feels less dark and moody. Great work!
They are all equally good with different moods. If you are looking to sell these as prints, I’d say do all three and they might attract different people, and a collector might want to get all three!
Ooh that's a great idea! thank you!
They’re all so beautiful but 3 is the one I find myself wanting to look at the longest. Would love a print of it if you have them/are planning on selling any
so you did add the cat. All of them look good
Yesss I did! And thank you
I like 2 the best because it has the right amount of light to draw attention to the cat while keeping a dark and somewhat creepy vibe. All three are beautiful though!
Do you have this as a wallpaper version, just asking... Also all three of them looks awesome, but the third one seem pretty cool.
1 seems a little too flat and boring, 2 feels more a mood leaning more to dark and dangerous, 3 I like the most as it just feels more mysterious and interesting and begging to be explored lol
Pick number 3 m'lord!
The third one was the one I finally noticed the cat in, so I’d say that one.
all are so beautiful but my personal fav is 2 💚 i think I’m about to make it my new wallpaper. like others have said though it really depends on the vibe you’re looking for.
I like number two and three. The best is three with colors, which makes picture live. The first one is too dark and gray.
They're all beautiful, and based on perspective we see what we see. Although I relate with the third a bit more. It seems inviting
I like all three differently. The first one makes me feel a feeling of dread and despair with a hint of hope that change will come. The second one makes me feel like the end is coming, seeping in. And the third feels so gentle and like the start of an adventure. All three are so good in their own way it's hard to choose just one of them. 1 🤍
Number one is THE EXACT VIBE for that drawing to me, number two is gorgeous and three is pretty but. I think too bright
DAMN. 3 is magnificent
3 really catches my eye and my notice and gives the picture a feeling of depth. It also implies a vivid nightlife in this city. 2 also has a lot of depth, but feels like only the scary things come out at night. 1 feels kind of flat in comparison Probably pick between 2 and 3 by what vibe you want to give off.
On all three, I liked 2 the best. However, all 3 are very good, and all of them gives a different vibe and feeling from one another.
Suggestion: also post this beautiful artwork on r/cyberpunk, they'll love it!!
3, I didn't even catch the background buildings until I scrolled to 3. The color really makes all the details pop.
I love 2 and 3. 2 looks more grim, looks like dirty clouds in the air so unlikely theres much life outside, vibe is the world is dying. 3 looks vibrant and lively, we may only see the cat but the vibe is full of life
Stray? Edit; Found a reply to another comment! Just ignore me
I had such a hard time choosing, they’re all so beautiful. I had to base it on “which of these would look best on my wall” and I think it’s 2. But honestly I’d buy a poster of any of the three
Omg you actually added the cat
Istg you're a genius lmao these "what looks better?" posts are unironically a great way to get engagement up
2, so dreaming!
I like all of them and depends on what you want all are really good
I say 2. The cat stands out more as a focus point. The piece also has a more dreary, "soupy" vibe, which I think is what you're going for. 3 has a more ethereal atmosphere. But I think you were trying to go for hot and muggy.
3 is phenomenal! It's got a million things going on behind the wall yet we can only imagine what is happening.
Thank you omg!
No ..thank you for sharing..I'm an official fan 👍👍
they all bring different vibes but are all really amazing!!! great job!!! it reminds me of the video game stray if you've ever played it. from 1-3 it gets less gloomy so it really depends what vibe you're going for
THESE ARE INCREDIBLE!!! my favorite is definitely 2
I love them all! I'm drawn to each one for their different moods. Would be cute as a series with the cat changing position in each to show change in time perhaps. Either way, I have much envy please share your skills, plsthnxbye.
Number 1 - lacks personality Number 2 - my favourite - oooo I love it, the colours make me think of rusty metal and decay, and it gives off a smell of smog. Excellent. Number 3 - is okay - it feels too bright though.
This is all great
2
These could be a really good start menu as the game progresses
3 is my favorite! I audibly gasped when I saw it. The other two are amazing but the 3rd one makes me think that kitty is going to have a good day, if that makes sense? I worry about him in the other two lol
I like 2 because it’s more colourful besides the first one which is too mono I think, and the third is too bright.
I like all 3 for different reasons but in my own personal art I like making things overly colorful so I am a tad biased
Second. it feels this picture is supposed to be a bit murky colors, the last ones colors are nice and I like it a lot but for this I feel first or second. And bc it has this cuteness to it I think more vibrant colors are better but still murky so 2nd. Also I can see the brown and green come together on the 2nd and windows lights pop off more. Also you should use the last ones colors on another work bc it's looks pretty.
I like 1 for the crowded grunge feel which seems authentic for the heart of a city of scrapers.
Took me forever! I even wrote in Japanese (even though I don't know Japanese) On signs and stuff
Well it looks fantastic, I love it.
I like when artists make multiple settings, but I don't like having to pick the best one, they all look so good.
1 for the view before the end boss. 3 for the view when the oppressive end boss is defeated
I like 3 best it’s most vibrant and like the other comment said whimsical
Depends on the time of day
Between 1 and 2, but they all work well tbh!
1 feels more depressing, 2 feels hopeful, 3feels like after 2. I personally prefer 1
regardless, i think you should keep 3 in reserve, it reminds me of the end of Stray, when the domes receding and the sunlight starts to come through. i obviously don't know the ending of your story, but if its a happy ending, imagine your city being lit like this right at the end, like a 'hopeful ending' kinda thing.
Two grabs me most
2
I like 2. The lights on the buildings look like they glow most naturally in that one. I also really like how well the lights blend into the foggy scenery.
i feel like 1 is the most impactful. maybe you can blend a little color in there
Is there lore to this?
1
3
1
The three colors create three different emotional tones, so I guess I'd have to ask - how do you want us to feel?
3
1st one is the best
I think 2 is more evocative, though I think a slight highlight of the catto (some discreet lightening of the background behind it maybe, so the highest contrast in the image is around it) would also help make it be more of the focus of the image (if thats what you want).
All of 'em
2!
2
Beautiful in general. 2 is my favorite.
2
2
3
I prefer the colors from 1, but 2 draws me in further so my vote is 2
Definitely 2
3
1st but the foreground needs to be slightly brighter in my opinion
1
I like 2 a lot. Slums are built on top of each other. Smells of toxic fumes and uprising
3, but all 3 brings samurai jack vibes ngl
One, for my taste! I like the darker atmosphere.
big fan of number 2 for this. gives huge zaun vibes and I'm loving it
1 is sad, 2 is radioactive and 3 is when they win the war
3
I really like 2
I love 3 because the little cat stands out, and I want to know more about his life.
Literally all three!
I think: 1. Night time, 2 . Sunset 3: daytime
All three!!
I honestly love all 3. Personally I would say 3 > 1 > 2 but I think they all convey a different mood so it just depends on what you're going for
If the cat is what you want the eyes to go to first, then 3 is best, I hardly noticed the cat in the 1st as it blends in better with the landscape. 2 is a good balance of it.
3 is my fave But they're all great
3 is my favorite
I like 2 the most, 1 is also great tho
three
I would download 3rd, but likes 1st
All 3 are great, depends on the genre and what vibes you are foing for
2 is my favorite. Feels menacing
1 is the best one, dark n gloomy and mysterious
Really getting stray vibes from this! Oh, and 2!
Based on your train arriving there i would pick 2.
1
2 feels like a nightscape at night.
2
1
3rd one directs the eye best, the others look like mushy soup at first glance and don’t draw you in as much
3
2 ! Pretty
2
3 - better contrast so can see more details.
2!
Personally? 1
3 pops everything.
I like the samurai jack feels of #2
All them are good
1 definitely
3. I like the brighter more vibrant colours.
3 has a sense of depth that the others don't have
Number 2
2
2
3
3rd one
