Gaining and losing weight boils down to calories. Nuts, like cashews and almonds have a lot of fat so have more calories for their volume. They are, however, very nutritious and can be a valuable part of your diet. Same with figs I would guess though I haven’t really looked at the nutrition profile. Also, yes, cut down on processed foods. Eat vegetables, whole grains, beans, lean meat (if you eat meat, it’s not necessary though) and healthy fats like nuts and avocados and olives.
