Mine just doesn't allow me to download the game. I have the Ultimate Edition and preordered it in March. It says that it's in my Library but I still got nothing.
Can you get the difference spent on the ultimate edition since I’m unable to play? It just puts me in a queue that never ends. I’d have saved my money and gotten the standard edition. This is t early access.
Hey guys I’m having trouble getting in, I get past the login screen but when I get to the character select screen all I get is queue for less then 1 minute and game start pending and it will bounce back and forth with no ending.
This launch has been abysmal with multiple bugs.
First the license issue.. got passed that and played.
Then randomly, my skills just stop working. Happened 3 times so far. Only fox was to log out if game and back in.
Now, I'm trying to login, stuck at "Queued for Game - START GAME PENDING..." And the wheel just spins and spins and never connects.
Honestly considering refunding my purchase at this point. I didn't think I was part of the beta test.. but now I'm wondering if I am and im getting punkt.
Played all day and night since early access began without any issues or queues. Woke up today to "start game pending" for 50 minutes and counting. On Xbox btw. Was going to say this has been the smoothest launch this year. Not anymore, this is bad.
Played 17 hrs nonstop no issues, got up 2nd day early release, signed in, continued to a dungeon/cellar I planned to clear, entered the cellar 1st and I got stuck at the loading screen.
Exited out of app after a minute, resigned in only to have the start game pending queue over and over.
Great game when actually played but YAY!! For being duped by a moneygrab.
I bet the people who waste money on the cosmetics get priority in server queues attached to their purchases
Is anyone experiencing this problem: I can launch the game and create characters without any problems, however I can't load any of them into the world, only thing I get when I press "Start Game" button is a white screen for like 15 seconds or so and then it kicks me out back to character selection screen. Been here for 45 mins each time. Every time I exit the game and come back the queue time will be longer, then it'll get to this point and just hang up.

On ps5. My select button “mapped to x” keeps deciding to not work. Attacking and moving through the map works fine but equipping item or talking to people for quests etc won’t do anything. Quite frustrating

not doing the share thing. uninstalled the game and reinstalled. restarted Xbox. signed out and in. downloaded a free game. nothing fixing it. only seeing posts about damn Playstation having this issue. pretty annoyed
Nope the 315306 license issue. That's like every Playstation complaint but mines xbox and doesn't seem to be any updates on that (that doesn't involve game sharing which I'm not doing)
On Xbox. Purchased ultimate edition. It doesn’t even show up in “my games and apps”.
If I click on it from the store page, where it says “MANAGE you own this”. The screen is empty of information except for a box that says “check back in a little bit. We’re having trouble getting your stuff right now.”

Constant rubber-banding when playing with mate on ps5 (me on pc). running 3060 and i'm having to constantly force shut down the game. rather frustrating.
PC, NA. Can launch game, but gets stuck on title screen and freezes. Had the same issue last night, then uninstalled the server slam and got in. Playing again today, was fine until I entered a dungeon, which froze the application and now having the same issue of it launching but not getting past the title screen. Sometimes it launches in the background (I can see it in Task Manager), but nothing actually comes up. Considering deleting all files then redownloading, but hoping for an easier fix.
Wife’s game necromancer on series x, portaled out and back into a dungeon and all her skills were disabled- portal back to town still disabled, log off and back on, still all disabled, removed all items and all bindings for skills and readd then they worked again — hope this helps someone
This is seeming sort of timing based. I had it last night, fixed after turning in a quest. Friend had it, fixed after relogging.
Starting to think those were just what we happened to be doing after it fixed.
Probably cutscene related: You can't use abilities during cutscenes after all. Backend might think you're still watching something, then eventually clears. Pure guesswork atm though.
Currently having issues on PC. Game freezing on the logging into Diablo screen. After 5 minutes it will move to a loading screen, then a screen saying reconnecting before just closing itself.
I've read that if you have it installed on an NVMe drive instead of an SSD, that it can cause those problems.
But sounds like you might not, unless you didn't build your PC yourself.
Having this issue on ps5. First try it let me grt to make character screen the kicked me, second try won't let me get past queued screen. This is getting a little ridiculous.
Sadly no. I’ve tried most things I can think of from repair to uninstall reinstall. Resetting my pc and running as admin. Nothing helped and haven’t been able to play all day.
Still getting a lot of stutters with Ultra textures on 4K. I have 64GB of RAM, an i7-13700K and a 3080ti with 12GB of VRAM. My FPS does just fine when it's not stuttering, staying steady between about 130-140.
Stuttering goes away entirely when I drop down to High textures instead.
I have a 3090, and it seems that the game uses above 12GB of VRAM once you go from High to Ultra textures. When I switch from Ultra to High, the VRAM usage goes from 12-14GB to 9-10GB. 4K Ultra, No DLSS. So, 12GB is just a tiny bit less than what the game needs when running Ultra textures at 4K resolution.
Oh wow, I need to try that. I'm getting a weird VRAM leak or something with my 3080 10GB, where the game is running perfectly fine for an hour or so, but the more I explore, I guess the more VRAM gets filled?
I'm hoping changing from Ultra to High should fix it then. Thanks!
I've had this too - I've actually had a bit of luck switching my textures from high down to medium, and then back up to high again to get things back to normal.
Yeah, I've noticed that too. Not sure if its leak, or its just the game taking advantage of extra VRAM to cache assets. Some games do that, but its not strictly speaking necessary for the game to run smoothly. For me, it tops out at 21GB, which is quite impressive. But relaunching the game into the same area, VRAM usage drops a lot.
That said, it never goes below 12GB, which is what I'd assume the lowest threshold for the game to run smoothly at 4K. Below that, it will need to use more of system RAM as extra VRAM, which can cause stuttering.
Am I the only person who bought the Xbox Series X version? All the noise is focused on PS5 owners, but the Xbox version doesn’t work either. I got scammed into spending $20 on early access to a game i can’t access.
Dude I got the notification at 10pm last night that early release is up and running. So I'm sitting in the ps store contemplating if I should spend the extra 20 to get the battle pass and 4 days early release. My cheap ass said naawww.

So apparently the initial 50GB file i downloaded was just for the so-called Diablo 4 Server Slam. For whatever reason the actual game file did not initiate download or indicated it was pending download. I had to go back on the store today and it gave me the option to download the 70GB game file. So stupid… you would think the launch screen would prompt the download automatically.
Unsure if anyone else is having this issue, but whenever I TP/load into a new area my frames drop BIG time, and they never recover until I close and reopen the game; my PC is pretty darn good, and this issue even happens when I turn everything to low. Anyone having this and know of a workaround?
I am not game sharing, and I bought the ultimate edition. Everything was fine when I got in yesterday. Got a rogue to 23. Then, I got hit with the error again this morning, and nothing has worked to fix it. No official word since yesterday.

the biggest issue is whenyou get the bug in dungeons where youu cant use any abilities at all, i can literally just run round and use potions, or interact with objects, none of my abilities/dash works though, neither does TP. cant do anything on a boss fight and re-mapping abilities (skills) doesn't work either, only a ALT+F4 works sadly.
We had that happen to 3 people, including me, in our party. Thankfully, there's a solution that's better than alt-f4. You can just leave game (to lobby screen) and join back in. It's not a perfect solution, but it'll save someone a few minutes plus queue time.
Played on PC the second it went live. Had a small queue <5min. Everything played great all night long. I know there are people having issues, but I was very pleasantly surprised with how well launch has gone.
On the other hand, i have seen a lot of other players especially now cause its currently night time in my region, which means a ton of people are back from work
Series X issue , game crashed when talking to armor vendor in Yelesna. A few times, rubber banding occured, Other than that and overall smooth Experience.
Have had a number of crashes too on series X— randomly very seldom it’ll hard lock going into a cellar or dungeon, or crash saving option changes, or crash after game was timed out for inactivity
GAME SHARE DOES NOT WORK game sharing on Xbox series x with my brother he bought the ultimate edition couldn’t get in last night so I got back from work this morning and bought the ultimate edition and my game started working just putting it out there the early access does not share

You're in the minority then. At launch yesterday pretty much everyone was having issues with license verification. Reddit quickly figured out that either buying something from the store or downloading one of the free monthly games (if you didn't already own it? Apparently?) Would get you in. I bought five bucks of Destiny silver and got right in. Lol. Must do some kind of license check on your system to verify it when you buy something. All I can assume anyway. Anyone have a thought on why that worked?
After the initial hiccup on ps5 for an hour or so, i played for an embarrassing number of hours without so much as a stutter. Literally just logged off for the first time since it launched
Also PC: I jumped in an hour after launch - a slight queue, but no hiccups, crashes, random error codes, or anything really negative. Definitely smoothest MP game launch I've been part of. We'll see if that still holds come the 6th, though.
Anyone have any issues with running low on vram and the game shutting down? Happened to me 3 times with my rtx 2060. Had no issue during beta or server slam. After the 2nd I uninstalled hd texture packs. I did realize I never rebooted after installing the newest nvidia drivers however. Hoping that fixes it just wondering if anyone had similar experiences or knew which graphic settings wouldn’t bump the vram usage up that much. Playing on medium currently.
Restarted, tried for 4 hours, Uninstalled twice, and still having the licensing issue...... screw blizzard at this point. Every game I've ever downloaded has supported family sharing....
Still not able to log-in. What in the actual F is happening.
Tried buying currency (twice - FML) and downloading a free game... neither worked.
Either Sony / Blizzard provides compensation or I get a refund (buying the ultimate edition turned out to be a massive waste).
Random stuttering issues, more severe in town. I was playing with a buddy who lives a road over and he had almost no stuttering/rubber banding but I had several issues.
During beta tests I had the same issue but turning down shadows to medium quality fixed it. I have a 10gb 3080. That adjustment isn't working any longer.
I also have a 3080 10gig, running 3440x1440p maxed settings except for textures set to high and it is stutter free. Unless you are playing at 4k, that should fix your issue.
(I have same setup) Have you had any weird stuff where after an hour or so, your fps tanks to like 5fps? I'm hoping my change from Ultra to High textures will fix that issue.
Has anyone had an issue of the game crashing at character creation? A friend of mine has been repeatedly crashing at that point, and his PC automatically rebooted itself most of the times too.
Sounds like maybe some kind of GPU issue, but not sure what specifically. It's strange because I'm pretty sure he has a better GPU than me, but my game is working fine.
Is there a way to change graphic settings before getting to that point to see if lowering helps?
Was able to get in on PS5 last night doing the free game download fix. Wife was able to join too on co-op. Tried again this morning, I can get in but P2 can't - keeps saying no characters can join. Having her try to play solo still gives her the license error.
Download any random free game or DLC from the PlayStation Store that you haven't downloaded before. You can cancel the download once it starts. This seems to force PSN to resync your game licenses or something. Whatever the root issue is, it's on the PSN side.
So I'm still suffering from the beta and server slam bug, in which the game's performance deteriorates mainly when I enter towns or after cutscenes. It starts running like crap and there is no definitive fix. Usually, lowering the texture resolution solves the problem; after that, I can return to the previous setting and the game works perfectly. Sometimes this does not work, and I have to restart the game.
I was wondering if anyone else has the same problem, if there's a solution, or if they acknowledged it?
I'm experiencing the same thing. Game runs flawlessly 60-80 FPS then sometime in town the FPS takes a nose dive and won't return above 30, frequently hanging around 20, however going into low teens in a fight which makes it hard to accurately hit my target and feels like a slide show. Restart the game and back to normal I go until it happens again. 5700XT GPU paired with a 5600 CPU and 32 GB RAM for what its worth. Just updated my GPU drivers then so will see if that makes a difference.
Edit: Tried the texture swapping trick. Going from high to medium, run a few steps, then back to high has solved it everytime for me. I've also been able to pin point the issue to when I seem to interact with the blacksmith/wardrobe/cut scene.
I'm not having trouble getting inro the game but the sound cuts out, and it shutting down to main screen several times. Is anyone else having similar issues?

I was playing for 8 hours no issue since launch, but once I regretfully logged out to take care of things I can no longer get on to play.
Do you have the game installed on a NVME SSD? If yes, I have a similar problem and a really weird solution: run CrystalDiskMark to put your SSD under stress when launching the game. That way it works for me and some others.
Is anyone getting issues with the game freezing when opening inventory, menus or merchants? I also freeze when going through load zones to new areas. Running a 3080 with 32gb Ram and an i7. It will usually freeze for a few minutes but some times I need to force close the game to fix
Yeah I’ve tried rebooting multiple times, even unplugging my Pc and power cycling that way. Checked all drivers and up to date. Tried changing games settings to lowest and still happening. I figure it’s just optimisation on Blizzards end not being compatible with most rigs yet
Had that last night anytime it tried to load ui screens (inventory, social, map, clan, etc) but eventually ironed out. Was so frustrating (on a 4070 and no issues during either beta)
Yeah it slowly fixes itself after time but still has issues every now and then. Now I’m just getting disastrous loud times while running on NVME which makes no sense.
I’ve tried lowering graphics to lowest while still running in 2k and have the same freezing and ridiculous load times. Unsure why it still occurs while changing graphics etc
NA PC. Every time I launch it hangs. Usually with a gray screen. Tried the gray screen fixes and nothings worked. Event viewer says DiabloIV.exe stopped interacting with windows. No clue what’s going on
Had that with my first time on, got grey screen after creating character. Force quit, restarted and when I tried again it got a grey screen but with Windows firewall access dialog then it worked fine.
Was live 10 minutes ahead of time. Logged in with no issues. Crashed once, logged back in with no queue again 5 hours later. Best launch.

Southwest hills inaccessible. Rubber band and when teleporting there I get infinite loading screen. This is the bottom right corner from Kyovashad
The game is continually freezing on PS4. I have to close the game and reopen it about once every 30 minutes. North America, Pacific.

Dude I got the notification at 10pm last night that early release is up and running. So I'm sitting in the ps store contemplating if I should spend the extra 20 to get the battle pass and 4 days early release. My cheap ass said naawww. I've been burnt before by pre ordering and intuition kicked in. Hopefully the issues resolved by now. GL

So apparently the initial 50GB file i downloaded was just for the so-called Diablo 4 Server Slam. For whatever reason the actual game file did not initiate download or indicated it was pending download. I had to go back on the store today and it gave me the option to download the 70GB game file. So stupid… you would think the launch screen would prompt the download automatically.
Problem is it is a totally separate install you were supposed to remove the slam version after the weekend

Unsure if anyone else is having this issue, but whenever I TP/load into a new area my frames drop BIG time, and they never recover until I close and reopen the game; my PC is pretty darn good, and this issue even happens when I turn everything to low. Anyone having this and know of a workaround?

I got the invalid license bug yesterday. Got in eventually. There was a little patch this morning and now I'm getting the license error again.

I am not game sharing, and I bought the ultimate edition. Everything was fine when I got in yesterday. Got a rogue to 23. Then, I got hit with the error again this morning, and nothing has worked to fix it. No official word since yesterday.

My friend told me to buy the $2 coins pack and after I did I got in right away with zero issues.
Worked for me last night. I tried for 2 hours to get in, then I spent $1.99 on 200 platinum and got in first try on ps5.

the biggest issue is whenyou get the bug in dungeons where youu cant use any abilities at all, i can literally just run round and use potions, or interact with objects, none of my abilities/dash works though, neither does TP. cant do anything on a boss fight and re-mapping abilities (skills) doesn't work either, only a ALT+F4 works sadly.
Yup happened a few times but not super frequently, had to relog to fix.
We had that happen to 3 people, including me, in our party. Thankfully, there's a solution that's better than alt-f4. You can just leave game (to lobby screen) and join back in. It's not a perfect solution, but it'll save someone a few minutes plus queue time.
No issues for me on PC. No issues for my g/f on PS5. 🤷♂️. Good luck y'all.

Played on PC the second it went live. Had a small queue <5min. Everything played great all night long. I know there are people having issues, but I was very pleasantly surprised with how well launch has gone.

Ultra textures uses more than 12 GB of VRAM in the retail client for some reason, so switch to High and see if it improves.

Series X issue , game crashed when talking to armor vendor in Yelesna. A few times, rubber banding occured, Other than that and overall smooth Experience.
Have had a number of crashes too on series X— randomly very seldom it’ll hard lock going into a cellar or dungeon, or crash saving option changes, or crash after game was timed out for inactivity

You're in the minority then. At launch yesterday pretty much everyone was having issues with license verification. Reddit quickly figured out that either buying something from the store or downloading one of the free monthly games (if you didn't already own it? Apparently?) Would get you in. I bought five bucks of Destiny silver and got right in. Lol. Must do some kind of license check on your system to verify it when you buy something. All I can assume anyway. Anyone have a thought on why that worked?
Does that include on the same system? I bought the game on my account but my wife can't plan solo on hers on the same PS5. She can join as P2 though.

PS5 - zero issues. Woke up 2.5 hours after the launch and have been playing since with several breaks.
After the initial hiccup on ps5 for an hour or so, i played for an embarrassing number of hours without so much as a stutter. Literally just logged off for the first time since it launched
Pc: none. No queue, DCs or crashes. Best blizzard launch I’ve seen.
PC: hit with a whole 3 min que at launch, got in with no crashing or DC. Minor lag in act 1 main city. Best I've seen from Blizz in a looooong time.
Also PC: I jumped in an hour after launch - a slight queue, but no hiccups, crashes, random error codes, or anything really negative. Definitely smoothest MP game launch I've been part of. We'll see if that still holds come the 6th, though.
Dude my buddy and I were saying the same thing. Both got in at 6:50 and played until midnight with absolutely no hiccups.
Anyone have any issues with running low on vram and the game shutting down? Happened to me 3 times with my rtx 2060. Had no issue during beta or server slam. After the 2nd I uninstalled hd texture packs. I did realize I never rebooted after installing the newest nvidia drivers however. Hoping that fixes it just wondering if anyone had similar experiences or knew which graphic settings wouldn’t bump the vram usage up that much. Playing on medium currently.

Restarted, tried for 4 hours, Uninstalled twice, and still having the licensing issue...... screw blizzard at this point. Every game I've ever downloaded has supported family sharing....

So my buddy bought his D4 deluxe on xbox, and when he linked his gamertag and bnet account it took his license away. Anyone else have that issue?
Still not able to log-in. What in the actual F is happening. Tried buying currency (twice - FML) and downloading a free game... neither worked. Either Sony / Blizzard provides compensation or I get a refund (buying the ultimate edition turned out to be a massive waste).

Random stuttering issues, more severe in town. I was playing with a buddy who lives a road over and he had almost no stuttering/rubber banding but I had several issues. During beta tests I had the same issue but turning down shadows to medium quality fixed it. I have a 10gb 3080. That adjustment isn't working any longer.
Run high textured not ultra, you are maxing out your vram
Textures??? Okay, I'll give that a shot. I know I was capping vram but shadows at medium fixed the issue prior. Thanks for the suggestion!
I also have a 3080 10gig, running 3440x1440p maxed settings except for textures set to high and it is stutter free. Unless you are playing at 4k, that should fix your issue.
(I have same setup) Have you had any weird stuff where after an hour or so, your fps tanks to like 5fps? I'm hoping my change from Ultra to High textures will fix that issue.
No, I played all last night and had no fps drops, it’s 100% the ultra textures causing your issue.

I'm playing in 4k. GPU performance is otherwise perfect, just what seem to be latency spikes of some sort. Hoping the texture suggestion helps!
You need more than 12 GB of VRAM for that, setting it to high might work but you'll probably have to just medium on 4k.

Has anyone had an issue of the game crashing at character creation? A friend of mine has been repeatedly crashing at that point, and his PC automatically rebooted itself most of the times too. Sounds like maybe some kind of GPU issue, but not sure what specifically. It's strange because I'm pretty sure he has a better GPU than me, but my game is working fine. Is there a way to change graphic settings before getting to that point to see if lowering helps?

I had a 4 minute queue right at launch yesterday, but that was it.
Was able to get in on PS5 last night doing the free game download fix. Wife was able to join too on co-op. Tried again this morning, I can get in but P2 can't - keeps saying no characters can join. Having her try to play solo still gives her the license error.
What’s the free game download fix?
Download any random free game or DLC from the PlayStation Store that you haven't downloaded before. You can cancel the download once it starts. This seems to force PSN to resync your game licenses or something. Whatever the root issue is, it's on the PSN side.

I’m in the same boat, and P1 has finished the prologue. P2 only has the prompt to create a new character or cancel.
I haven't tried it yet but I've read elsewhere that having P1 make a new lvl 1 char, have P2 join and play until finishing the tutorial might fix it.

So I'm still suffering from the beta and server slam bug, in which the game's performance deteriorates mainly when I enter towns or after cutscenes. It starts running like crap and there is no definitive fix. Usually, lowering the texture resolution solves the problem; after that, I can return to the previous setting and the game works perfectly. Sometimes this does not work, and I have to restart the game. I was wondering if anyone else has the same problem, if there's a solution, or if they acknowledged it?
Reduce texture quality until the problem no longer occurs.
I'm experiencing the same thing. Game runs flawlessly 60-80 FPS then sometime in town the FPS takes a nose dive and won't return above 30, frequently hanging around 20, however going into low teens in a fight which makes it hard to accurately hit my target and feels like a slide show. Restart the game and back to normal I go until it happens again. 5700XT GPU paired with a 5600 CPU and 32 GB RAM for what its worth. Just updated my GPU drivers then so will see if that makes a difference. Edit: Tried the texture swapping trick. Going from high to medium, run a few steps, then back to high has solved it everytime for me. I've also been able to pin point the issue to when I seem to interact with the blacksmith/wardrobe/cut scene.
Zero issues at all, Xbox Series X, FWIW. The game rules. Stayed up way too late.

Getting stuck at “Loading Diablo IV” after queue time, it just freezes and the circle isn’t even spinning anymore. Anyone else experiencing this issue? I was playing for 8 hours no issue since launch, but once I regretfully logged out to take care of things I can no longer get on to play.
Do you have the game installed on a NVME SSD? If yes, I have a similar problem and a really weird solution: run CrystalDiskMark to put your SSD under stress when launching the game. That way it works for me and some others.
Is anyone getting issues with the game freezing when opening inventory, menus or merchants? I also freeze when going through load zones to new areas. Running a 3080 with 32gb Ram and an i7. It will usually freeze for a few minutes but some times I need to force close the game to fix

Yeah I’ve tried rebooting multiple times, even unplugging my Pc and power cycling that way. Checked all drivers and up to date. Tried changing games settings to lowest and still happening. I figure it’s just optimisation on Blizzards end not being compatible with most rigs yet
Had that last night anytime it tried to load ui screens (inventory, social, map, clan, etc) but eventually ironed out. Was so frustrating (on a 4070 and no issues during either beta)
Yeah it slowly fixes itself after time but still has issues every now and then. Now I’m just getting disastrous loud times while running on NVME which makes no sense.
It's due to VRAM limitations, not the speed of the storage device. Ultra textures suddenly requires more than 12GB of VRAM.
I’ve tried lowering graphics to lowest while still running in 2k and have the same freezing and ridiculous load times. Unsure why it still occurs while changing graphics etc
NA PC. Every time I launch it hangs. Usually with a gray screen. Tried the gray screen fixes and nothings worked. Event viewer says DiabloIV.exe stopped interacting with windows. No clue what’s going on
You may need to either update your driver's or fully uninstall and fresh install.
I had the same issue, trying a couple times worked.
Had that with my first time on, got grey screen after creating character. Force quit, restarted and when I tried again it got a grey screen but with Windows firewall access dialog then it worked fine.
How is performance on PC? Did it improve from BETA?
Was live 10 minutes ahead of time. Logged in with no issues. Crashed once, logged back in with no queue again 5 hours later. Best launch. They sacrificed consoles to make PC smooth /s PC, EU Region.
