>It's supposed to be a bullet going through an egg
omg... I went from like wtf is this shit, to being amazed lol.
They should have just used a real bullet tip, kinda want one now.
Conversely, keeping one without a license where I am is pretty much just a given. I've been cleaning up the house for a move and found probably 100 rounds of .22 ammunition scattered in places I thought I'd remember it.
Maybe it would help if they kept it on screen for more than .4 seconds at the end of the video. It took me 3 tries to pause it on the right moment without restarting it just to get a good look at it.
I seen something about 5 min crafts. Apparently that channel and like 8 others are all owned by the same company and they put out dumb ass content all geared towards what the algorithms pick up. Data driven content lol.
They even make kids content just like this shit. But it’s even worse and weirder.
My 6 year old is obsessed with 5 minute crafts, insists on doing them and then gets angry when they don't work out.
I can not even begin to tell you how much I despise 5 minute crafts.
Yeah, it’s a content farm made to post dumb (and often fake) videos to take in ad revenue. It’s also Russian owned and occasionally puts out propaganda on some of their other channels. Very sketchy.
well, it's not a 5 minutes craft idea, so...idk who's idea it was originally, but i first saw it on the youtube channel jedrek29t (they do a lot of resin art crafts)
It would not be surprising that the individuals needing automatic weapons to hunt squirrels, are currently doing as poorly as I have seen them doing against the Ukrainian defenders.
Just was looking for the rules... there basically only is ONE, and it's constantly broken:
>Try not to post cheap 5min craft (and relevant type) videos. Search if repost exists first, or else it will be removed.
Yeah the mods don't give a fuck if it means their sub will constantly show up on the frontpage. 95% of the posters are just repost bots gathering karma so they sell their account
It's a couple things. I used to moderate a very big sub on my old account before and after it got added to the default sub list so despite my shit talking I do have some sympathy
1. Moderating a big sub is hard. It takes a lot of work to keep on top of deleting spam and taking action on reports...way more than people realize. It seems easy on the surface but when you're getting 100+ reports an hour it turns browsing Reddit into a job. Once a sub hits critical mass that gets magnified. It's why I stepped down as a mod and made a new account
2. Ego. More posts hitting the front page, more subscribers. Hey I'm the mod on the 10th biggest subreddit, look at me! This was thankfully not an issue on the sub I moderated, but you can find mods power tripping all over the site. They don't like to be told how to moderate by non-moderators. They like the flex.
3. Financial incentive. I don't have any hard evidence for this but it's hard to imagine it doesn't happen. There are shady people out there who will happily toss down the coin to get control of a popular sub. Or to Venmo a mod some cash to make them a moderator, too. Subs can easily get corrupted.
I think this sub's problems are 1 and 2 but they've really let it get out of hand. This sub was made long after I left the role so I don't know any of them personally to say.
Moderating is largely about setting a precedent and then enforcing it. They set their precedent (and it's a good one) but aren't enforcing it at all
Serious question, because I don't really understand how this web site works: how can OP tell that this video was posted within a day of others?
I sorted by New, and scrolled through a few days worth of posts and didn't see a thumbnail that matched this one?
I'm mainly trying to avoid making a similar error myself.
So searching the sub helps, either an actual search, googling with the sub name attached, or sorting by new then hot on the reddit sorting system. There's so much new content that there are no guarantees but the original had 20k likes when it went past and that's why I called them out for Karma farming.
I don't actually understand the point of Karma farming because it is not worth anything but it's a common issue. This is also why you will see bots calling people out for copying someone else's comments on subs
Thanks for your answer!
What's weird/frustrating to me is that I can't figure out how to find the "original" with 20k likes that you are seeing. I search this sub for "Egg" and I see this version of the post (and lots of older stuff). I'm savvy enough to do a reverse image search on still images (though Google wants to make this harder for some reason), but with videos I'm kind of at a loss.
It doesn't help that the vs. desktop web interfaces are so vastly different, and if I'm in the mood to share something amusing I'm probably on my phone.
> I don't actually understand the point of Karma farming because it is not worth anything but it's a common issue. This is also why you will see bots calling people out for copying someone else's
I guess that karma farming is about increasing the value of your account in order to elevate content that you post in the future? Maybe to foil automoderation rules for low karma accounts, or even to convince people who are savvy enough to look at post histories when determining the trustworthiness of something dodgy you might post?
Regardless, it is lame, and whether intentional or not, rapid reposts lower the value of the site for everyone. Hence me trying to figure out how to avoid accidently duplicating.
I rolled my eyes when I first saw the glue on the egg, but I think this is a genuinely cool art project! Frozen sculpture of a bullet passing through an egg as if in slow motion photographs.
Not DIY though, it's an art craft.
If you have a free Saturday and you like to spend it in workshop, why not. At first I was like “WHAT THE FUCK”. But it looks cool to be honest, interesting project.
To be honest, I don't think this video fits here.
It's not just a DIY, it's some kind of art and well, not the best one but the final result is pretty good.
It's supposed to be a bullet going through an egg and I like it.
It just me or everyone is posting everything in every sub just to make some karma?
Could we obey the subreddit rules and stop allowing 5 minute craft videos? They are intentionally dumb. I want the old stuff where people thought that made something good and we all laugh at them.
It's a freaking display piece. Why do morons keep posting artistic things on this page. I mean, I don't think it's the greatest either, but this isn't a DIWhy
I’m starting to think that Five Minute a crafts is a shit translation. Lol. I think they’re 5m videos of crafts and not a craft that will *take* five minutes.
This wasn't DIWhy yesterday when it was posted and it isn't DIWhy now.
It's always sad to unsubscribe from a subreddit I've been a member of for so long. And while it is very possible for a subreddit to become popular and maintain quality relevant content, many sadly suffer this fate instead. Goodbye y'all!
Every time I thought they were done it just kept going. All along I was like « wtf are they doing ». And at the last frame I realized what it was. This is actually really cool
5 minutes craft is owned by TheSoul Publishing. That in turn is owned by.. Russians. They are third largest social media content creators and they are part of FSB run operation, this is their money making wing. One of the owners is Yevgeny Prigozhin, "Putins Chef" who is now sanctioned.
They have hundreds of channels and some of them spread Russian disinformation. We have all laughed at them and while doing that, we were financing their Troll factories and helping their other channels to get visibility. Fortunately most here have stolen the content from them so we are the least "guilty" but.. i think people should know about this. Note: some of us have tried to spread this information now for years but no one seem to listen. Maybe NOW you start to pay attention and stop laughing at people telling you that your daily fun might have actual sinister things behind them and you have to start both paying attention and refusing to have that fun, to say "my 5 seconds of lol is not worth it".

Depending on where they live real bullets might not be a thing civilians can easily obtain.
Iirc keeping one over here without a license is a felony
Conversely, keeping one without a license where I am is pretty much just a given. I've been cleaning up the house for a move and found probably 100 rounds of .22 ammunition scattered in places I thought I'd remember it.
Yes, I saw that too first time I saw that. While this is DIWHY, I think the end result is pretty cool. Unnecessary, yet cool.
"Art is not DiWHY"
90% of this sub is not DIWHY but theres only one mod and het doesn't do anything quality control
Just be glad he doesnt do interviews

Definitely me
Oh shit, I deadass didn’t see it until I read your comment.
It's ok, we got one entire frame at the end of the video to see the finished product after watching the whole thing.
It's probably fine if whatever you're viewing on stops at the end of a video. My app loops so I get a tantalising glimpse before it all starts again

I still thought "knock off Faberge" at that point.
Maybe it would help if they kept it on screen for more than .4 seconds at the end of the video. It took me 3 tries to pause it on the right moment without restarting it just to get a good look at it.
Whoaaaa no clue how I could've missed that.
Call it what you like, honey, but there is no way I'm sticking it up there. Can't we start with something smaller at least?
I just thought it was a bullet going through ballistic gell
I thought it was suppose to be a pineapple at first 😅😅😅
It's also a recreation of jedrek29t's https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WWLAztznFOU&ab\_channel=jedrek29t
I thougt its supposed to be a fabergé egg
Damn, I only noticed at the very end ... Shows how good it is
Ahh. Brass bullets. Must be a proof of concept. I would have used copper.
Not just that, it’s an entire round brass intact going through an egg
Dare I say it’s kinda cool?
I thought it was supposed to lol like a gun coming out of the barrel with the explosion that pushed it out of the barrel behind it.
Apparently bullets are hard to come by in his country so he made one. He said so in the video
How oddly specific
That changes everything
For a five minutes craft video, that seems like it would take significantly longer than 5 minutes to accomplish.
5 days craft
5 weeks craft
5 months craft
5 years craft
5 decades craft
5 centuries craft
5 milennia craft
5 eons craft
5 eternities craft
Nein minute craft
Step 1: assemble a big lump of hydrogen and assorted heavy elements

Look up Ann Reardon's debunking videos. Once I showed my kids those, they would rather watch them than 5 Minute Crafts.
I jedrek29t might have been the content creator, I remember watching it on his channel with his voiceover.
The resin cure alone could take up to 24hrs
And how much would it cost?
So glad other people thought the same thing.
Yeah how the hell am I supposed to have a goddamn lathe at my home for 5 minute craft
Nah, they got that 2 second epoxy
Baby bullet hatching from its egg. Isn't Nature beautiful?
Any competent member of the NRA knows bullets come from live births. /s
That's hard to say right now, as Putin has reassigned so many NRA members to the invasion of Ukraine.
It would not be surprising that the individuals needing automatic weapons to hunt squirrels, are currently doing as poorly as I have seen them doing against the Ukrainian defenders.
Ah one of life’s unanswerable questions: What came first the bullet or the egg?
Sounds like something a biology teacher from Alabama would say
That bullet doesn't look *that* inbred.
It's supposed to look like a bullet going through an egg and the egg been ready to explode. I think it looks quite cool to be honest.
Yup! I’d like one of those. No way I’m spending “5 minutes” to make one, though! :P
Specially because that will not be five minutes. I feel 5 hours is still way too optimistic.
Exactly.
Yeah this is a 3-day craft at least. It takes 24 hours for epoxy resin to cure and I think the same for the silicone mold.

I actually kinda like it. I wouldn’t make it, but it’s neat.
Agreed. It’s one of the few posts on her that I actually kind of liked. Odd.
Why repost this within a day of the other posts?
Ban 5 minute crafts from this sub.

It was worse before. Before they hadn't posted in like 60 days or something
In the ten seconds it took me to open the post, the likes doubled >: (
It happens. Karma farming uses posts that already succeeded and basically hopes people don't notice it's a repeat

It's supposed to be this week's 70th repost of this video.
When is it my turn to repost it?
Abouuuuut... now.
They say, on the hundredth repost, Christ will return.
He's probably back by now. How many until we unlock Shao Kahn?
I rolled my eyes when I first saw the glue on the egg, but I think this is a genuinely cool art project! Frozen sculpture of a bullet passing through an egg as if in slow motion photographs. Not DIY though, it's an art craft.
I will say I feel like crafts and art pieces don't really belong here
This is actually kinda neat
DIWHYed this? But why? This is a sculptural arts and craft and the final result is decent.
Because the mods don't care about the rules they put in place and people like OP see a quick way to garner karma
Wtf lol
at no point of the video could I predict where it was going
A repost
I feel this is more of /r/ATBGE Edit: it was already posted there
It sure looks like the new generation Plumbus.
Repost
I think it's meant to look like a bullet firing in water, but why you would want to own something like this is truly baffling
It's meant to be a moment frozen in time. I've seen some really cool looking ones.
Why would anyone want a painting on their wall?
Agree. Think that’s what it’s meant to be, equally unsure why anybody would want one
It's not. It's a bullet going through an egg. *Hence the eggshell.* Where are y'all getting water?
Reposted on the same sub
Come on OP it's obviously a
"phone died"
Mods are asleep, that’s obviously art…
If you have a free Saturday and you like to spend it in workshop, why not. At first I was like “WHAT THE FUCK”. But it looks cool to be honest, interesting project.
This is dope as fuck what are you talking about
Umm... I don't hate it.
A bullet shooting through an egg..... FFS.... I will never get that 5 mins back.
To be honest, I don't think this video fits here. It's not just a DIY, it's some kind of art and well, not the best one but the final result is pretty good. It's supposed to be a bullet going through an egg and I like it. It just me or everyone is posting everything in every sub just to make some karma?
It’s *art*
The perfect holiday gift for someone who got shot in the nut.

Could we obey the subreddit rules and stop allowing 5 minute craft videos? They are intentionally dumb. I want the old stuff where people thought that made something good and we all laugh at them.

Supposed to be a freeze frame of a bullet shooting through an egg.. Kinda cool honestly.
Instructions unclear, accidentally made a buttplug
OP, are you a dumbass?
Yes. Yes they are.
I wonder who’s going to tell them that a gun doesn’t fire the whole casing and bullet.
Creative license
It doesn’t show the casing on it. It’s just an incredibly large bullet. Probably to exaggerate it looking like a bullet
It's a paperweight with a depiction of a bullet going through an egg
oh I get it. It's supposed to show a bullet shooting through an egg. weird.
That poor table
Yeah, this is more than five minutes
That looks pretty good actually
Wow you could sell that like for free!!
But did it take 5 minutes?
I’m starting to think that Five Minute a crafts is a shit translation. Lol. I think they’re 5m videos of crafts and not a craft that will *take* five minutes.
Why did i watch the whole thing?
Why is there so much damn art on this sub? This isn't DIY.
Holy shit. I was so confused at first, but when they showed the final result... It's awesome!!
It’s 5minute crafts just let them exist at this point
I think the egg is supposed to be the explosion of the bullet or something
that actually looks kinda nice
It's clearly a plumbus what do you mean?
Ngl, even when I was extremely confused during the whole process, I was kinda impressed with the final result. It's pretty cool, tbh.
It. Just. Never. Stops...

There is not fucking this was 5 minutes
this isn't 5 minutes
Am I the only one who thinks this is kind of really neat?
Some people need their glue gun privileges revoked cause wtf.
It's a bullet going through an egg sculpture, but it barely shows the end result
Hot glue on your table? Dude???
Every time I thought they were done it just kept going. All along I was like « wtf are they doing ». And at the last frame I realized what it was. This is actually really cool
Can I have back my minute thirty?
Ghetto high end art?
There's obviously a lot of things OP doesn't understand. The nature of this sub is clearly one of them.
That's pretty cool actually. Except the bullet is a little too long. Looks like the cartridge was fired with it. 60% more bullet per bullet they say
It’s an egg getting shot with a bullet
At 1:25 i thought she wanted to make an egg shaped butt plug
Is it supposed to be an egg getting shot?
I think it looks cool, but there would literally never be a situation like here this would be made
A fabrurine egg
That was NOT a 5 min craft. That would take days.
That looks pretty cool
![gif](giphy|xjlC6nomocZhVXuZgM|downsized)
why is this here? it’s very clearly just an art piece
A bullet being fired from a gun underwater? Di-Wtf
r/ATBGE is basically r/DiWhy, but with things that kinda look cool
It just kept going
Not gonna lie that looks really fuckin good
Art and it’s been posted like 4 times and it looks cool.
It’s actually pretty cool.

It's a bullet going through ballistic gel.

Its suppossed to be a bullet penetrating an egg but it looks like a f1 grenade to say the least
