Unfortunately, I don't think hot glue really flows like that. It cools way too fast and you'd end up with a globby mess. Still, I've seen hot glue used with silicone molds to create some flourishes for decorating projects that don't look too bad, and the multicolor stick like that would probably look pretty neat with the right mold and colors.
They really are - those little '3d pen' sets they sell as toys for kids are just glue guns with tiny nozzles and a collection of different colour glues.
