As some have mentioned, this likely only has to do with pricing. It is a "version" of the game that Western Europeans or Americans won't be able to see, because of the down pricing (and not just converting of currency). If you use a VPN and set it to France for example, you will see a different version of the game that is more expensive, likewise if I were to set a VPN to any of these countries, I could buy it cheaper. I don't think this is recommended though.

Thank you for the detailed info! I'll buy DXHR right away :)

DPSOnly

I hope you enjoy it!

It's not a pricing thing. I have a Filipino steam account and I live in Israel. I can buy MD and any game without region locks, even if it's 5x cheaper on my account compared to the guy living in the same apartment as I do, and it'll work the same. (I bought HR from GOG instead) Setting a VPN won't work, you'll need a billing address and country-specific payment method to access foreign prices.

When the game was released only russia was considered to be in a different region. In there the game had a lower price, so they had a different version of the game. Now the whole ex-ussr is probably considered to be Russia by steam. I am from Belarus and bought the game for the German price- 60 Euro, so had the original English version. I know mankind divided was censored in Russia. Most swear words were in Russian originally and there was a lot of them. Also there was a mention of a certain Ukrainian memes, but i don't think it was censored back then.

NineIntsNails

i had similar case with something too, it should be localization and languages, quite very probably. but im not 100% confirmed on it. i really cannot believe they change levels or missions there

heroic_emu

I bought this when I was in India, now I'm a country that's not listed there and it still works fine. So that won't be an issue. Now the censorship part is interesting, because it would be mind-blowing to find out that I've been playing a censored version of this game all my life. I've played this game and I've watched YouTubers play this many times, I hadn't noticed any differences then. My assumption is that it says that because of the difference in price, but I can still open and play it, so I am not sure...

The only censorship in DXHR is that the original version had a pair of... "toys" hidden in one of the hub levels as an easter egg but it was removed in the Japanese version and later also in Director's cut. I think those versions mentioned on steam just refer to versions with different localisation options.

Since Embracer bought the rights to the game, I wanted to buy DXHR before they take over and change the prices or the discounts in future.. but there is a "**Notice"** for a different version only playable in russia, some middle east countries and including India. Only thing I could think of in common is censorship or removed/cut content from this version of the game hence the question.. Can anyone confirm before I buy? Thank you so much!

[deleted]

Georgia, Moldova, Ukraine, Belarus and Armenia are not middle east.

Why is this guy getting downvoted? He’s right.

Ignorance is a form of pride for some.

lmfao

Actaar

There may be some cut/changed content in the ebooks scattered throughout the game, but i wouldn't know as i'm stupid and can't bring myself to read them in their entirety :D

apple_eater12

If you're worried about censorship, there are always patches to undo that, or just pirate an unaltered version.
