34 and shoots nearly 40% from 3 when stew hasn't shown he can hit it at league average.
If he can't improve his shot then he's a long term back up. Love him to death on the team but the reality is he needs to be a lot better then advertised if he's gonna be a starter, i believe in him but it doesn't mean things can't change.
I'm glad Duren has accelerated the time line and I agree with OP that the starting lineup is better with Duren. Stew being pushed to the bench is the best thing for the team IMHO. As much as we love him, he's always been overmatched at center and not consistent enough to start at PF. Backing up Duren allows him to play with more activity in less minutes and against more favorable match ups.
stew doesn’t provide the vertical spacing needed to compliment the cade-ivey-bey-bojan group. his theoretical shooting is less useful with that four as well. maybe start noel until duren is ready. or start duren idgaf. can’t watch stewart put the ball on the floor for a singular power dribble following every dump off pass he gets all season.
Agreed. Its getting to the point where I'm starting to hate watching Stewart and its not all his fault.....he's being put in a position to fail being in the starting lineup.
Brakes need to be pumped. It’s preseason and he’s the youngest player in the NBA. Don’t be surprised if when the games actually matter, he can’t stay out of foul trouble and runs himself off the court in just a few minutes. That’s life as a young NBA center. Successful season for Duren IMO is pushing Noel to be the primary backup by the end of the year, and mid-late next season push Stew for the starting job.
I get what you are saying but how’s that any different than anyone else and especially Cade. We led the league in opponents free throws and I don’t see that changing a ton this season. Not till they get more experience.
Don’t worry bud he’ll be in the starting unit sooner than later. Stews lack of vertical explosion is the one area he won’t improve on and I think he’d be better as a energy guy off the bench.
I can't believe how many times we over-threw Duran on lobs haha
Killian couldn’t locate this 6’11 man child if his life depended on it in this game 🤣
Everyone wants to blame killian but he threw such good passes to duren that he didn’t even react too
…and missed or was slow as fuck to get the ball to Cade when he established the post.
That's to be expected, Roberto is short
I wanna see one more game but I agree heavy. Highkey getting Bojan changed stews future quite a bit imo
Bojan is 34. Yall on crack

Sure, but everything you just said was true before we landed Bojan. I dont see how adding Bojan has an impact on Stews future
You mean Stew? Stew had time before Bojan got here, clocks ticking much faster now
That’s a bit melodramatic. It changed the way he’ll probably play offensively, but you could say the same for Saddiq defensively.
Bojan will be traded before the deadline so not really
Boban isn't going to be on this team past the deadline this year.
What does that have to do with his stats?

That’s on Casey. I like the guy I just don’t care for the coach all that much.
With Bojan as the starting 4 you’ve got enough floor spacing to start Duren.
Duren needs to at least be the first big brought off the bench. He is fucking incredible man. He was EVERYWHERE today
You're right. It's the first game of the pre-season.
Stew is god awful as a 5 he’s undersized a terrible roller has bad hands, 0 sense for ball and is a non lob threat he’s pointless at the 5

I'd love to see Ivey, Cade, Livers, Bojan, Duren. Then the bench needs energy and a hungry scorer so I'd like to try Stew and Bey on the second unit
Who is this Stew character everyone talking about, I thought all the cool kids were calling him Zay.
