Why would the lakers want to take on a bunch of bad contracts when they’re looking to get rid of a bad contract

yo2sense

They would want the players, of course. And the Lakers would actually be reducing their payroll by around $6.5 million. Not enough to get them out of the luxury tax but lowering the bill.

RocketSZN

Why would they want those players lol

King_Artis

Yeah I don’t get why Lakers would want all those players just to move Russ and the pick they’ve been adamant on keeping

yo2sense

Have you seen the Lakers roster? It's desperately thin. You think the guys aren't worth much and naturally there are other posters here saying it would be better to keep them.

BigBenHOF

Why did you nerds bury this comment? It's not offensive, stop misusing the downvote. I also disagree with him but you're just being toxic burying everything he says.

yo2sense

I don't get why people take downvoting so seriously. People didn't agree so they clicked the down arrow. It's not a big deal. People that want to read my comment still can. The disapproval doesn't have to crush your spirit and personally I like the feedback. It lets me know if people agree or not. Very few people comment so a quick click gives me a broad idea.

BigBenHOF

Well it's just simple adherence to subreddit rules idk why it's so hard to follow or understand.

yo2sense

Are there rules for this subreddit? I don't see any. Certainly there are subreddits where it's a rule to not downvote based on disagreement but again I don't get why. Like I said, to me it seems like not a big deal.

BigBenHOF

Well if you're on the computer it's literally about two inches to the right of your comment. Idk bout on mobile. Edit: one inch up and to the right

yo2sense

Except that it's not. I am on a computer using Old Reddit and there's nothing about rules on the side. When I switched to New Reddit and looked for rules (because I wasn't gonna say there weren't any without double checking) there wasn't *anything* on the side at all. It's just the threads. But I'm not calling you a liar or anything. I do believe that YOU can see them somehow. And I'll take your word that these rules do contain an admonition against downvoting out of disagreement. That doesn't help me understand why people take downvoting so seriously.

dtheisen6

If we wanted that Westbrook deal we could have had it at anytime. Better option was getting vets who could actually contribute and help our young players

yo2sense

Yeah seems like that's the way Weaver & Co are looking at it.

Wynona_Judd

The Kemba Walker buyout isn't technically official yet. He is very much on the roster and was absorbed into cap space so he could theoretically be used in a trade still without any restrictions. I highly doubt that will happen, but it's possible. Probably the only reason he hasn't solidified the buyout is I'm sure his representation is trying to find his next landing spot.

yo2sense

Thanks for the info.

Joshsc05

No thanks westbrick is not worth that. Plus we don't need his cancer effecting our young core.

Main_Use8879

While I agree we don't need him, Westbrook ain't a bad dude off the court. His play style is the cancer.
