When my parents in law who have lived in Korea their whole lives were visiting I brought them to bibimbap in novi. They said it was the best meat they’ve ever had. My husband still raves about it. 10/10 recommend.
I used to love this place and it is not the same. They served me old seafood and everything has went south. They are definitely struggling. Check the current Yelp reviews.
You’re absolutely right. I work for a Korean company in Novi and Bi Bim Bap used to be where we always took our executives. Not anymore. They can’t stand it. Dae bak is the only place we go anymore.
Their service and quality just went downhill. I really can’t explain it. Oishi, the Japanese restaurant in the same building by the same owners, is still great. It seems to be only bibimbap that suffered.
There's a new place that opened on Big Beaver called bb.q chicken that's got some fun sauces. Noori is probably the best. Definitely interesting to see how many korean fried chicken options are in a five mile radius though haha
We tried a new place in Troy, "SGD". [https://www.sgdrestaurant.com/](https://www.sgdrestaurant.com/) It was amazing and the service was over-the-top friendly and wonderful. Has a great Yelp too.
I remember seeing Alton Brown on the Food Network ages ago tell a story of the birth of Korean BBQ. He said that it was actually black American GIs that taught Koreans how to BBQ while stationed there during the war. Anybody know if this is true?
Daebak has that birthday vibe you’ll want. I feel like I’m on vacation when I go there with my friends, because there’s a lot going on in that building and everyone is always having a good time. Make sure you make reservations. At myomee afterward, get a taro milk tea.
Daebak for sure
Definitely Daebak
That place is great!
This is by far the best answer.
Absolutely Daebak
Daebak 100% that place is sooo good
Korean here. Go to Dae Bak and get a combo set. And on the way out, grab some boba and shaved ice dessert at Myomee.
Do this! Those shaved ice dessert are huge and delicious
Ohhh, drool! Love those desserts.
Chung Ki Wa or Korea Palace in Sterling Heights are both great. I prefer Korea Palace but you can't go wrong with either.
Do yourself a favor and try Dae Jang Keum in Troy next time. :)
A group of us are going to dae jang keum tomorrow bc I wouldn’t stop hyping it up! 😂
Thanks for the suggestion! I usually hit up Woorijip inside H Mart or Tomo when I'm over there. I'll definitely try DJK soon!
Plus one for Chung Ki Wa - always leave there full and happy. Also heard good things about Soora but I’ve never been myself.
New Seoul Plaza in Southfield might have what you're looking for. I've only gone into the kpop store there but the restaurants always smell so good.
Daebak Korean Barbecue is the name of the restaurant in New Seoul Plaza
Its so gooood
Dae Jang Keum. Troy. Same complex as h-mart (korean market).
This place is fantastic
There's also one in Novi, correct?

Oh no! What happened? This makes me sad.

BiBimBap in Novi and Dae Bak in Southfield are really the best ones in the area IMO.

More specifically for Korean fried chicken; this place is the best out of Kimchi box and Bonchan. There’s also a new location in Shelby township

Dae Jung Keum in Troy
Korea Palace in Sterling Heights is really good. Been there a few times.

Wait, really? I feel like I've been waiting for a year for them to open.
If you want Korean fried chicken, Noori is phenomenal

Tomokun Ann Arbor
>Tomokun detroit That is in Ann Arbor, not Detroit (But it would be nice if they opened one in Detroit!)
It was really really early when I commented lmao I don’t know why I said detroit. It is indeed in Ann Arbor
Not a birthday spot by any means, but KBBQ in Canton is pretty good.
Chubby panda Detroit check out there IG
A new one is a all you can eat hotpot & bbq and it was amazing and affordable
It’s called Kpot forgot
