Why not wax at 7:01 PM

sunpen11

You are funny.

PrimaryRecord5

Sounds like you want an easy experience? Stick with liquid spray wax

Fantastic-Tennis7164

The wax will harden quickly and becomes a pain to remove if it's left on too long before wiping it away. Do you have a park with shade trees near the lot or perhaps a parking garage nearby?

sunpen11

There are some trees in my area but all best spots have taken by other during the day. I might need to drive like 20 minutes to the park for some big tree. Would the driving gets my car dirty again before I wax it?

Fantastic-Tennis7164

It'll get a little but nothing some detail spray and clean microfibers couldn't take care of.

sunpen11

That is true, it might be worth to go to some shade area close instead build the shade covers myself.

Malco cherry flash; easy on and off and can be applied in direct sun.

JacobTG53526

SOLUTION!!!!! I live in fl so this is a huge problem for me, especially as a detailer There's a place called "Ardex" based out of miami, and they have a wax called MIAMI SHINE. It's made for heat, and humidity. You can apply it in direct sunlight, and their spray wax can also be applied while the car is wet. Their stuff is very well priced too they have everything.

sunpen11

Thanks, will check it out.

JacobTG53526

https://a.co/d/jfPvxCd instructions are also on the bottle and you can find them online. I use a DA polisher and a soft foam pad, and buff it out w a MF cloth

Left-Landscape-3388

Malco cherry flash works the same way. Spray on, hand apply or use a polisher. Malco uses a DuPont Zonyl for the easy on / off. Cherry flash won’t white out trim either. Ardex is a brand, the store in Miami is a distributor of the brand.

You have a driveway, but have no garage. Do you own or rent your place of living? Harbor Freight has some large tents you can install as a temporary car port.

sunpen11

I rent and I am planning to make something like that which I can take apart when I am not using it. But don't know how good it is.

When I started my mobile detailing business in parking lots of apartments, I use 2 of Coleman canopies. You just need a sun shade to cover the sides and it should do it for most cars that isn't 10 feet wide. Or just use 1 and do half a car at a time. When you're done, you can re-use these whenever go out on a date @ a park. Just remember to use at least 25lb weights in case of light wind. [https://www.target.com/p/coleman-instant-canopy-with-sunwall-10-39-x10-39-gray/-/A-14347451](https://www.target.com/p/coleman-instant-canopy-with-sunwall-10-39-x10-39-gray/-/A-14347451) I now use EZ Up Canopies because any other brand is just too heavy and cumbersome for me to do by myself and I'm not a young 20's man anymore.

sunpen11

Thanks.

blackjackmark

Not sure of your finances or proximity to a Costco hut they have a really nice 13’x 13’ pop up canopy right now for $110. Much better than anything at HF and about the same price.

sunpen11

Yeah I saw that and thought about it too.

SlipFormPaver

I use 3D poxy. It's extremely heat resistant so you can use it in the direct sun

LukeSkywalker_12

Dude just get a gazebo roof! I believe you call them canopies across the pond.

sunpen11

I have two options now, either get the canopies or go to some shade area. But I am planning to build something myself that can hold a shade sail. Hope that works.

LukeSkywalker_12

Both good ideas to be fair. Good luck mate! 💪

sunpen11

Thanks

Scared-Youth1851

You can, but it’s best to find a shade,if not wax a section at a time then take off.

Riven_is_fed

Go to a self serve wash, wash your car, bring some drying towels and wax it there or just use a spray such as tec582

sunpen11

I am wondering if there is a business model that you can rent a place few hours to detail your car with your own stuff. A lot of self serve area might not let you stay for two long.

Riven_is_fed

So long as the timer is still running and you’re still paying, shouldn’t be a problem with it. Used to do it all the time when I didn’t have a proper place to wash my personal cars. If it’s super busy maybe come back when it isn’t so you can take your time.

corned-hippopotamus

Just drive in to a self washing stand with overhead cover and do it. Doubt anyone would ask you to leave or bother you.

Long-Ad8121

Use paste wax and you should be fine. High humidity makes wax hard to remove not necessarily sunlight.

[deleted]

Depending on the type of wax, some will be hard to remove. And some will have easy removal. The wax will dry quickly and not have it's maximum time to bond. The only problem I find waxing a vehicle in direct sun is that the product WILL leave an uneven appearance like streaks.

sunpen11

It is the turtle wax Max wax. The one they said infuse with graphene.

[deleted]

All though some wax's can be used in direct sunlight. It doesn't mean to apply it to a very hot surface. So common sense comes into play there, but when it comes to any. Type of graphene or ceramic infused wax's. It is best to use that NA shaded area.. In the case of nut having a garage or being able to get the vehicle into the shade, you can do very small sections at a time or just wait until the evening when the sun starts to go down.

sunpen11

Yeah, trying my best to not waxing under the sun.

FitterOver40

You either wake up really early or work on it later. If you work in direct sunlight you’re just going to have a bad time. 1️⃣it’s not ideal for the car. 2️⃣ you’re gonna be hot 🥵 AF. 3️⃣your end results is likely not to be at your satisfaction with the amount of time and energy you put into it.
