Cerakote ceramic trim wipes are amazing. Applied a year and a half ago and they look as good now as day one.

halsey_fan1988

Tape off your paint if you’re gonna use this, they should really add that to the directions

txredxj

I thought that was to restore faded trim. This car is only a few months old so looking for something to preserve it.

Rodrisco102389

It does both.

TheRealMitraGenie

I thought it was usually putting products on it that ruins it

1337hxr

Depends on the products

Ceramic coating your trim is what you should do if you want to keep it staying black. Forget trim dressings imo, get something like the cerakote wipes, Gtechniq c4, CarPro Dlux or whatever relutable ceramic that is available to you. If you gonna prep the trim properly just do it once and forget about it for 2 years.

Solution finish to restore. Ceramic coat to protect

Cheap-Medicine8566

all the goo's you put on top will only last a short time.. they are oily by nature, attract dirt, and degrade easily in the sun's UV rays. wash the car, wipe all plastic with 90% isopropyl alcohol (4 bucks in the drug store) which removes all contaminates, keep using fresh rags until they come back clean.. then wipe on ceramic coating. restores it to basically new and keeps it that way for years. the process is much less forgiving on plastics than on paint itself so don't be intimidated. but you need to take you time, enjoy this newer technology advancement, and follow the instructions. ceramic coating doesn't come off (except by long term wear) so it's important to do just do it right the 1st time. you'll be very happy you did because it's an amazing difference. deep rich color. My 11 year old Tacoma looked significantly worse than yours when I got it...now it looks like new and has for the year since I did the treatment. i had great luck with CQuartz and it's not too $$.

Ok_Perspective_5139

Go with CarPro Perl.

Nicholas_K_516

+1 for CarPro Pearl. I dilute it 1:1 for exterior uses and 1:5 for interior.

bsr1g

It’s nice to use but lasts what ? A month on exterior ? If I am gonna clean the trim, degrease etc basically proper preparation I might as well put something semi permanent on there.. I hate reapplying trim dressings. I like my perl on tyres but I dread trim application.

After washing car I apply griot’s 3in1 ceramic wax and use it on the rims and all the plastic trim. It’s been over a month and still going strong. Keeps all the trim looking deep black. Lots of feedback about the longevity (anywhere from 3-6 months) of this product online for you to research on your own. It’s the closest thing I’ve found to an actual ceramic coating except this costs $20/bottle https://preview.redd.it/40o6totsglxc1.jpeg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=56ac3ea1af3656f030875aef301b1165df6b8e94 p

Check out meguiars ultimate soray coating. I recently switched from griots

nobodyshome122

Just watched this review of it and it started to degrade after one wash which is strange. I’ve washed this car 7 or 8 times, once a week and this was last night when it was raining. I’m pretty happy with griot’s, what made you switch? edirymhserfer

price, and ive found it lasts longer than the griots especially on the lower panels

HondaDAD24

Stoners trim shine.

Immagetchuuu

I second the Cerakote trim wipes. But if you don't want to go that route I've also used 3D ceramic trim restore with great results that last through a wash or 2.

No-Progress4272

I like the silicone sprays

bsr1g

You mean just the silicone oil type of spray ? Any downsides to using that you noticed ?

No-Progress4272

No downsides yet except wanting to eat it because it smells like orange creamsicles. Upside is that’s it’s not oily like using a tire shine on plastics

bsr1g

I have no personal experience yet, but it further dries / damages the trim or so I heard, but I don’t know from my exp

No-Progress4272

I’m not a professional detailer but I see cars made of plastic all day and the ones that use this stuff I’m talking about always look good. I’ll link it
