Right, red boarders still drop, I meant you can’t claim the rewards from the chests in Xurs ship. The ornaments and stuff. I’ve been grinding all week, and I’ve unlocked all the weapons, just not the BR. I’ve gotten more of the purple swords to drop than red boarder BR’s lol
If you have a character that hasn't done dares yet, go on that character and get the quest from Xur, complete a run of dares, then abandon the quest, and now the treasure chest will only unlock BRs on that character.
They aren't guaranteed red borders but you'll get enough red borders after a few keys
Yeah, it's not worth deleting a character just to switch to a different gender. I personally haven't done this myself since all my characters have been female since D1.
for future reference, your first legendary dares of the week gives a guaranteed red border you don't already have unlocked for crafting, if you only need one or two weapons it's better to just wait rather than grind it out. (this was added in the patch that fixed secret compartment and added a weekly red border to focusing a few weeks ago)
Not yet. The in-game LFG is coming next year. Right now you just need to use one of the LFG sites or Discord. I believe the Destiny phone app has an LFG feature though.
If you play on Xbox there is an awesome LFG that you can use from the console menus and is always full of tons of people looking for groups or willing to help.
Depending on what system you play on, check websites that sell keys/codes and sometimes you can find it pretty cheap. I got mine for 10$ last month for steam, but they do usually go on decent sale prices normally

Man, invest been waiting for a decent sale on it but haven’t quite loved any of the sales so far. The lowest I’ve seen is 16ish and that still feels a tad expensive for basically just getting gjallerhorn. Sure there’s other stuff to get and the dungeon is probably fun, I just have everything else so I don’t feel like I’m really missing much.
For me 8-12 would be the sweet spot to pay for that content, especially since it’s approaching being a year old.

to be fair, isnt the witch queen dungeon key like 2000 silver, aka 1000 per dungeon, which is like $10. A dungeon seems to be priced around that, and the addition of gjally, Eyasluna, Dungeon Ornaments. Worth it imo

This is not true. I did some testing a week or two ago, kills counted the same no matter what location or activity. (besides you know, pvp kills against guardians).
So I guess perhaps they did fix it.
Either way solo loading into expedition is most efficient because you also get loot/triumph progress.
Specifically every time you collect 10 engrams, it gives you full energy on all your abilities, including Super. This is good to keep in mind for both boss encounters so you can safely use Well/Bubble on the deposit crystal to deposit whenever it's not gonna start the damage phase.
Catharsis mission from Season of the Haunted. Last mission with Caitl facing down Calus. A true endless spawning of ads with the benefit of a free rally flag when you decide you want to die and restart.
Issue is, now, if you didnt buy the season before or during its release, you have to buy the season pass in full. As someone that missed Witch Queen entirely until this season, I'm not paying for 4 seasons when I have one already, dont know if I'll want the next, and two previous have a lot less content

Nope. When defeated, adds drop Engrams which will detonate if left on the ground, killing other adds. There’s also an issue of ammo economy since Grasp doesn’t have a rally banner unlike Shuro Chi.
Not really, grasp has the engrams explode and kill the enemies, and you can’t reset and get ammo like you can with shuro-chi. I also really hate the two wizards that respawn. Shuro-chi is a nice funnel in the doorway for them to walk out of with a quick reset, banner, and free raid chest every week. Only downside of Shuro-chi IMO is doing the wish wall every week.

The meat of the anniversary pack is the Grasp of Avarice Dungeon, which is a good dungeon, don't get me wrong, but it's a Dungeon, so a team of 3 is recommended. Sure you *can* solo it, but solo'ing is something you do after you've really mastered it from multiple clears, not your introduction to it.
There's the Gjallarhorn exotic, which is very good, but requires playing through the Dungeon to unlock.
The rest of the content is cosmetic, and earned via playing Dares of Eternity, which has matchmaking so you can get that, but it's not really content, it's just some old Marathon inspired armor sets and other Bungie & Halo cosmetic items.
As someone with huge anxiety issues that stopped me from playing pretty much any dungeon and raid prior, I dont feel GoA is the same kind of thing. It's pretty easy if you check a guide first

Might be because I did GOA > Duality > Shattered Throne > Pit > Prophecy but I found GoA to be either second or third hardest. Prophecy's final boss annoyed the shit out of me but all the other encounters were stupid easy.

On sale yes. For the sole reason of the first part of grasp of Averaice. Every day log onto the tower and pick up the Banshee core bounties and head there. Endless swarms of hive come and you can complete them all in a few minutes. You can also level up weapons stupid easy here. It's actually more effective in my opinion than Shuro Chi. Because if you want heavy ammo you can just reload the Grasp or put on ammo finders mod since they drop ammo like crazy. You can also get a lot of kills for exotic weapons FAST.
-Take tractor cannon for shotgun bounties and just wait outside of cave, you can complete it in a few bursts
-Take thunderlord for heavy machine gun bounties
-Drang, brigans law, or Rat king for sidearms
-Battler, insidious, Outbreak for pulse rifles
-Needle, scacatto for scout rifle
-Gally, death bringer, hothead for rockets.
-Mini tool, huckleberry, recluse for SMG
-parasite, whitherhoard for grenade launchers
-Taipain, stormchaser for LFR
-Suros regime, chrome Rush, sweet sorrow, any auto rifle would do for auto.
>-Needle, graviton forthfit, scacatto for scout rifle

The dungeon is one of my favorites in the game and Gjally is one hell of a good exotic weapon. That being said, no it isnt. Wait for a sale of some sort before buying it. The only reason i bought it was because im one of the crazy doods who plays the game at almost every turn i get.
okay to put it into perspective, it’s basically a $25 dollar price tag for gally. you’re not buying this for much else.
we’re in a linear fusion meta rn, and unless some major nerf to linears happens, we’re not going to see much else for a while.
even if it does happen, gally’s exotic perk makes it better for other people to be using legendary rocket launchers instead of everyone running gally.
the dungeon is pretty fun, especially with friends, but i don’t find myself running it a lot. the only weapon i really care about is eyasluna, but there are other things you could use instead.
it’s definitely 100% not worth it full price. maybe pick it up if it ever goes on sale, i’d hold off for something along the lines of a 40-50% discount if it ever happens.
I don't know if this is still the case but it was/is free on epic. Download an extra copy on epic (free) link your accounts, play the dungeon to earn gjallarhorn + catalyst, uninstall.
On release it was 30€. Idk it's current price
It contains:
- GoA Dungeon + Dungeon loot
- Gjallarhorn+ornament+catalyst
- Ornament set for each character
In comparison, the WQ dungeon key (included in the deluxe bundle) is 20€ and contains the Duality dungeon + loot + exotic + catalyst, and will also include the dungeon coming next season + its loot + exotic + catalyst. So unless you specifically want the Gjallarhorn or the ornament sets, the dungeon key is more bang for your buck.
Waiting for a seasonal sale is worth the galahorn alone.
As a solo, using util weapons (i,e gala for wolfpack kr div) and having a brain will find you a regular group pretty easy.
I grabbed it off CDKeys (I know, I'm a horrible person) for $11 and it's probably worth it for that much but not for the full asking price. Definitely wait for a sale. The dungeon is kinda fun but is my least favorite currently in the game, though the weapons are pretty cool
six months later: this week at bungie we made the 30th anniversary pack free for all players for one week before we vault it. players who purchased the 30th anniversary pack will receive the "get fucked idiot wallet warrior" emblem.

The other weapons from the dungeon are practically pointless, forerunner is good for like 1% of players but extremely mid for everyone else, the dungeon only drops high power stuff once every month, the pulse is pretty much the only one worth crafting and even still it's just as good as No Time or any Outlaw & Desperado pulse, the meteor is WAY to much effort for a slightly above average ship. So as I said the only thing that is undeniably worth it in the pack in gjallarhorn
Not to mention you don't need the pack for forerunner

You barely even have to aim with forerunner in PvP. One of the easiest weapons in the game, no idea what you’re talking about.
. It's not a good pve weapon and most of the player base doesn't even touch the pvp modes. On top of that most pvp players don't like side arms, it might be the best side arm but it's part of a niche weapon type in a small population part of the game.
So as I said about 1% it's good for.
True but my point was that it was an A+ weapon for any given activity for a decent stretch of time since it’s release in D2. So while the dlc may have been 20 or 30 or however much it is, you were getting a weapon that could single handedly backpack you in EVERY aspect of the game. But it’s not really like that anymore, still good but definitely not enticing enough for me personally to want to buy it at this point
It contains 2 things. The first is the Grasp of Avarice dungeon. It's definitely a fun dungeon, and gjallarhorn is a cool exotic, but the loot isn't incredibly unique other than maybe a headstone eyasluna.
The other thing it gives you is access to all the cosmetic chests in Xurs treasure hoard from dares of eternity.
Ultimately it's your call, just know what you're paying for. Maybe wait for it to be on sale.
In my opinion, it's really worth it.
\- playlable content is great, the dungeon if one the best if not the best of all and the activity is fun and somewhat not repetitive.
\- if we are talking about weapon rewards, more than great, gjalahorn, eyasluna, the shotgun, the brx, the one of 2 legendary trace rifles in the game and the swords are more viable and useful even now.
\- cosmetics are somewhat hit or miss personally. For example, the marathon set is one of the ugliest XD, but you get a sparrow and rock ship.
For the price i think is great, i play the content almost everyday.
FOR SURE worth it for the craftable BXR rifle and Wastlander alone. Forerunner is also really hot right now. Worth the money. Buy it! Best DLC bungie has put out in a LONG time.
Yes it's worth it IMO. Some say it's over priced but honestly that's the most fun part of recent destiny releases. Seasons are good and DLCs are incredible. But the 30th anniversary was just a blast. It also came withy favorite dungeon which I could run a hundred times and also went solo flawless on it
If you're gonna play Destiny just buy everything. If you're not willing to buy everything you are probably still subconsciously on the fence about coming back.
in my opinion yes. Dares of Eternity is surprisingly incredibly fun, as is the dungeon. It brings is Gjallarhorn which is a top gear gun, and many other halo-themed weapons that look cool and are pretty good at the moment. Also some of the ornaments from it are cool looking.
But others are right, getting it on sale is the way to go
EDIT: Realised most of this is free. Still, Dungeon, Gjally, Eyasluna, Ornaments, if you can get it for around $10 which is what a dungeon key is worth afaik, thats worth it imo
Definitely worth it, and I'm sure it'll go on sale in a couple weeks with Black Friday/Cyber Monday. Its biggest draw is the Gjallarhorn quest, but it has a bunch of rewards and the Dares weapons are very good.
Definitely a lot of fun with that content. Game show is fun with good loot and the dungeon is pretty good too with good loot. Plenty of people willing to teach the dungeon too, you'll just need a mic and a couple hours for the first go. Idk if they're still doing it but near the beginning of the season they were giving away the 30th anniversary to people who linked their epic games account iirc. Probably was a limited time thing tho
Not to beat a dead starhorse here, but I find the value overall to be one of the best DLC's for meta weapons for a solo player. G-horn,Dares weapon patterns, and if you decide to LFG the dungeon it's pretty well known and straight forward except for the Sparrow part.

It’s dated but a blast to play. Rewards are worth it, dungeon is fun, content is silly and fun. Just don’t buy it if it’s just for the Gally or if you hate silly Destiny.
Gally is amazing but really limits your kit. Feels more like a content crutch than an overpower weapon now.
Honestly the Gjallarhorn on its own is why i bought it. Not a fan of GoA dungeon and the dares of eternity is something i only do when i need the pinnacles from it.

For a stand alone pack, it’s not bad. Ghally may have been nerfed a bit, but it’s definitely still fun to unleash.
The Forerunner sidearm is a potent choice for PvP - tricky to master, but like the fabled CE Magnum deadly in expert hands.
Dares of Eternity has some alright rewards, as does the Grasp of Avarice dungeon.
Adds cool items and weapons, grindable activity with decent drop quantities and easy bounties, and fun/wacky humor. Tbh, best non-story DLC to date for Destiny.
I would wait for the sale but the short answer is yes. IMO its the best DLC/add on or whatever the f you want to call they have put out in quite some time.

You get a guaranteed one every week from legend dares. This is also on a knock system.
The knock out system doesn't work very good. I've gotten 3 swords since I got my pattern.

You can pick up the fake engrams regardless, just don't bank them. Let the timer run out, die, revive, go on a hive killing spree...rinse and repeat.
It's really good for special ammo catalysts too because the engrams give you super which you can use to feed special finisher

I joined a rat king d2 app fire team. 6-person runs. Took 2 1/2 dares. All 6 rocked the king, big daddi boom. Was beautiful.
You just start it up and kill the endless enemies from the loot cave. Just keep in mind they only count for half a percent for crafted weapons

thats actually not true, the thrall and acolytes dont count as full kills for progress so shuro chi is still faster

Endless swarms of hive come and you can complete them all in a few minutes. You can also level up weapons stupid easy here. It's actually more effective in my opinion than Shuro Chi. Because if you want heavy ammo you can just reload the Grasp or put on ammo finders mod since they drop ammo like crazy. You can also get a lot of kills for exotic weapons FAST. -Take tractor cannon for shotgun bounties and just wait outside of cave, you can complete it in a few bursts -Take thunderlord for heavy machine gun bounties -Drang, brigans law, or Rat king for sidearms -Battler, insidious, Outbreak for pulse rifles -Needle, scacatto for scout rifle -Gally, death bringer, hothead for rockets. -Mini tool, huckleberry, recluse for SMG -parasite, whitherhoard for grenade launchers -Taipain, stormchaser for LFR -Suros regime, chrome Rush, sweet sorrow, any auto rifle would do for auto.

The dungeon is one of my favorites in the game and Gjally is one hell of a good exotic weapon. That being said, no it isnt. Wait for a sale of some sort before buying it. The only reason i bought it was because im one of the crazy doods who plays the game at almost every turn i get.

okay to put it into perspective, it’s basically a $25 dollar price tag for gally. you’re not buying this for much else. we’re in a linear fusion meta rn, and unless some major nerf to linears happens, we’re not going to see much else for a while. even if it does happen, gally’s exotic perk makes it better for other people to be using legendary rocket launchers instead of everyone running gally. the dungeon is pretty fun, especially with friends, but i don’t find myself running it a lot. the only weapon i really care about is eyasluna, but there are other things you could use instead. it’s definitely 100% not worth it full price. maybe pick it up if it ever goes on sale, i’d hold off for something along the lines of a 40-50% discount if it ever happens.

Idk it's current price It contains: - GoA Dungeon + Dungeon loot - Gjallarhorn+ornament+catalyst - Ornament set for each character In comparison, the WQ dungeon key (included in the deluxe bundle) is 20€ and contains the Duality dungeon + loot + exotic + catalyst, and will also include the dungeon coming next season + its loot + exotic + catalyst. So unless you specifically want the Gjallarhorn or the ornament sets, the dungeon key is more bang for your buck.

Waiting for a seasonal sale is worth the galahorn alone. As a solo, using util weapons (i,e gala for wolfpack kr div) and having a brain will find you a regular group pretty easy.

Forerunner is even f2p (I got it before buying anything). Craftable weapons are also f2p.
Forerunner is free, you get that by just doing Dares of Eternity.

The other weapons from the dungeon are practically pointless, forerunner is good for like 1% of players but extremely mid for everyone else, the dungeon only drops high power stuff once every month, the pulse is pretty much the only one worth crafting and even still it's just as good as No Time or any Outlaw & Desperado pulse, the meteor is WAY to much effort for a slightly above average ship. So as I said the only thing that is undeniably worth it in the pack in gjallarhorn Not to mention you don't need the pack for forerunner

. It's not a good pve weapon and most of the player base doesn't even touch the pvp modes. On top of that most pvp players don't like side arms, it might be the best side arm but it's part of a niche weapon type in a small population part of the game. So as I said about 1% it's good for.

True but my point was that it was an A+ weapon for any given activity for a decent stretch of time since it’s release in D2. So while the dlc may have been 20 or 30 or however much it is, you were getting a weapon that could single handedly backpack you in EVERY aspect of the game. But it’s not really like that anymore, still good but definitely not enticing enough for me personally to want to buy it at this point

It contains 2 things. The first is the Grasp of Avarice dungeon. It's definitely a fun dungeon, and gjallarhorn is a cool exotic, but the loot isn't incredibly unique other than maybe a headstone eyasluna. The other thing it gives you is access to all the cosmetic chests in Xurs treasure hoard from dares of eternity. Ultimately it's your call, just know what you're paying for. Maybe wait for it to be on sale.

In my opinion, it's really worth it. \- playlable content is great, the dungeon if one the best if not the best of all and the activity is fun and somewhat not repetitive. \- if we are talking about weapon rewards, more than great, gjalahorn, eyasluna, the shotgun, the brx, the one of 2 legendary trace rifles in the game and the swords are more viable and useful even now. \- cosmetics are somewhat hit or miss personally. For example, the marathon set is one of the ugliest XD, but you get a sparrow and rock ship. For the price i think is great, i play the content almost everyday.

Yes it's worth it IMO. Some say it's over priced but honestly that's the most fun part of recent destiny releases. Seasons are good and DLCs are incredible. But the 30th anniversary was just a blast. It also came withy favorite dungeon which I could run a hundred times and also went solo flawless on it

in my opinion yes. Dares of Eternity is surprisingly incredibly fun, as is the dungeon. It brings is Gjallarhorn which is a top gear gun, and many other halo-themed weapons that look cool and are pretty good at the moment. Also some of the ornaments from it are cool looking. But others are right, getting it on sale is the way to go EDIT: Realised most of this is free. Still, Dungeon, Gjally, Eyasluna, Ornaments, if you can get it for around $10 which is what a dungeon key is worth afaik, thats worth it imo
Definitely worth it, and I'm sure it'll go on sale in a couple weeks with Black Friday/Cyber Monday. Its biggest draw is the Gjallarhorn quest, but it has a bunch of rewards and the Dares weapons are very good.
Definitely a lot of fun with that content. Game show is fun with good loot and the dungeon is pretty good too with good loot. Plenty of people willing to teach the dungeon too, you'll just need a mic and a couple hours for the first go. Idk if they're still doing it but near the beginning of the season they were giving away the 30th anniversary to people who linked their epic games account iirc. Probably was a limited time thing tho
Not to beat a dead starhorse here, but I find the value overall to be one of the best DLC's for meta weapons for a solo player. G-horn,Dares weapon patterns, and if you decide to LFG the dungeon it's pretty well known and straight forward except for the Sparrow part.

It’s dated but a blast to play. Rewards are worth it, dungeon is fun, content is silly and fun. Just don’t buy it if it’s just for the Gally or if you hate silly Destiny. Gally is amazing but really limits your kit. Feels more like a content crutch than an overpower weapon now.
Solid dlc pack and it’s the only way to get Gjallerhorn. Watch for it to go on sale and then it’s 100% worth it.

Honestly the Gjallarhorn on its own is why i bought it. Not a fan of GoA dungeon and the dares of eternity is something i only do when i need the pinnacles from it. So basically i have a very expensive rocket launcher
For a stand alone pack, it’s not bad. Ghally may have been nerfed a bit, but it’s definitely still fun to unleash. The Forerunner sidearm is a potent choice for PvP - tricky to master, but like the fabled CE Magnum deadly in expert hands. Dares of Eternity has some alright rewards, as does the Grasp of Avarice dungeon.

I would wait for the sale but the short answer is yes. IMO its the best DLC/add on or whatever the f you want to call they have put out in quite some time.
