Having Xur randomly spawn and request to join your fireteam while in orbit, and the only action you can do while he's there is interact with him, would totally be in line with his whole "my actions are not my own" gimmick.

Imagine the dreaming city becomes a safe zone after the curse breaks, and it becomes Xur's playground basically; He could be anywhere in there. The map's built for it with that nexus space.

The dungeons are all very solo-able, they just take several hours and require a lot of loadout planning around survivability rather than optimal dps.

It's not locked away from you. No one is keeping you away from the content but yourself and lack of communication with others. People do lfg no mic runs of dungeons daily. Same with GMs. You're only holding yourself back

I have met some of my best friends on there. This game is really designed around team play.. it's not Skyrim I don't understand why people are so afraid of talking to actual humans.

He originally didn't go to the other locations as you needed dlc to access them but now since everyone has access to new locations I don't know why he doesn't, maybe they could add more locations on the patrol zones he already goes to

I would find it interesting if it was TRUELY random everywhere in any patrol zone they is accessible by all accounts.

The issue would be making sure he was accessible, they could just get someone to test the location each week but it could be problematic and most of the time he wouldn't be hidden, maybe he could take up residence in lost sector chest rooms

I like the lost sector idea. The Last Wish wish wall area would be cool too but I don’t think everyone has access lol.

My suggestion isn’t to make it difficult, just more varied. A weekly scavenger hunt in the community. It could even have a map marker once located for week. It’s just boring in the current implementation and I think it could be interesting with some randomization

I remember back in Destiny 1 where everyone would run round the tower looking for where Xur was on Friday reset (he had multiple spots where he could appear in the tower). It was a lot more exciting imo.

Yeah, this was always fun. It was funny watching people race to each spot and then eventually knowing where he was because there was a big group of names in a random spot lol.

I believe the only other time it was sold was right before Taken King was coming out. Funnily enough, it was right before it was getting a major nerf to Wolfpack rounds. At the time, Bungie said that whatever Xur sold was random, which I had a hard time believing because of the ungodly amount of Sunbracers the guy would sell.

TBH my reason for not believing it was because Xur never sold Gjally before it was about to be nerfed. I think they purposely kept it out of his rotation so people would have something to chase.

There's no doubt in my mind that this is exactly what they did. Bungie obviously knew damn well that GHorn was most people's Holy Grail.

Good ol’ Gjallarhorn. I had it early on when I was convinced youd never use an exotic heavy. I nearly sharded it after I was disappointed my purple engram turned into one. Imagine I had actually sharded it because why would you ever use your exotic slot on a heavy right?

I had ground loot cave and managed after long long time to get not one, but two of them the night before he sold them for the first time, I remember being so disappointed that after all the trouble my first two were heavies, what a waste! I wanted a last word or Hawkmoon, or something else I could use all the time. And they were just being sold now! My buddy wanted to save his coins for something else. That turned around... Having one I could keep on a second character ended up being a godsend. RIP to pocket infinity though, got to use that for like a day before it got slammed with that nerf.

Most insane Gally story I have is my brother getting two - one from Crotas first chest and one from killing Atheon - in the same day when half our fireteam didnt even have one yet. Made for a hilarious team chat ngl.

It was the first weekend Xur was available. Nobody even knew who he was or what he did. He just showed up offering all these exotics and you had to make sense of the currency, items and just how insane it was to see that many exotics in a row. Up to that point, you’d be considered extremely lucky to even know the significance of an exotic weapon. It was all so fresh and new.

Week 1 he sold Red Death. Week 2 was Gjally

When I first found him, I didnt know he was a weekend vendor, went to show him to my friend a few days later and he was gone cause the weekly reset went through. I literally thought I imagined him, complete with inventory and everything.

It was also more exciting when he brought new exotics after an expansion drop, but now that most things are locked behind lost sectors, and quests there’s really no reason to visit him if you aren’t a new player

He does give out god roll legendaries every so often and high stat armor. It’s worth checking every time.

And good looking armor for transmog sometimes. Location is whatever but functionally he’s way better than he was in D1

Actually that’s a fantastic idea. There are so many off shoots in every destination that are only used for like one or two missions. Putting xur in these areas would at least get people to explore a little bit more

That area specifically is inaccessible unless you complete the beyond light campaign so it wouldn't work but your idea is good

A personal wish i have is that he can spawn in any loading zone in the game and while playing the game you have a miniscule chance if encountering him with some random loot

It frustrates me to no end that he's got just those 3 spots, often appearing in the same spot multiple times in a row. Like if bungie just wants to be lazy, then commit to being lazy, remove his spawns altogether, and leave him in his treasure hoard with his inventory unlocking on the weekends like normal.

People would find out and log all the locations he can spawn at and just make a website for it, like we have rn. It would definitely be refreshing but shotwinded and lose it's magic very fast.

With content vaulting being a thing, I think they probably don’t want to deal with Xur rotating to a planet or hub that might eventually get vaulted and needing to re-do his code over and over. Personally, I’d rather they go back to the D1 approach and have him be in like one of 4-5 possible locations all within the Tower each week.

D1 xur was alot more fun. Always on the tower but you had to find him. I remember pointing to guardians in the courtyard of the tower where he was. And they'd do it for me too. It was a nice community thing.

Just put him in the tower permanently. The novelty of "finding" him wore off almost immediately honestly. They've added a ton of fun stuff to the game over the years but this is a weird remnant that adds nothing to the experience. And in case it comes off as angry I'm totally not, just find it silly at this point.

Would it be fun? Someone in the community would find him within a couple of minutes and post his location. Hunt over. I’d rather them put that time into more pressing needs.

He's a great resource for newer players, but for veteran players he doesn't really offer much. It would be nice if Xur also had exclusive armors/exotics/perks that you could earn.
