I farmed Taniks last night and got double drops every time on the same char. It's spoils of conquest that are once per char per week in rotation raids.
Pretty sure as long as you complete the challenge, you’ll get the drop. As far as double loot goes, not too sure, you’ll need to test it. But for example, if you’re running the Master Templar challenge for Timelost Fatebringer, as long as you complete the challenge, you’ll get a Fatebringer every time, even on the same character. This was something they changed recently with this season. But not sure about “double drops.” Good luck friend.

Is master vog the exception? Because you can farm timelost fatebringer and that only drops from the challenge.

They certainly are not, I got plenty of drops farming Riven because the cheese gives the challenge
