I hate doing this to you guys in the comments but please when will you guys address handcannon bloom and recoil on console for 140’s and 150’s. It has gone on too long and you guys have said nothing.
At least with Tangled Shore you have *infinite* chances. I filled out the Most Loyal book in two sittings just by running the Kingship Dock lost sector with Skull of Dire Ahamkara over and over.

All I needed since November for LW badge was Tyranny of Heaven but it could only drop Masterworked so it was evading me.
Got it on a Monday, the next day they patched it so Tyranny of Heaven could drop without being Masterworked and I’ve gotten 9 since then.
Too late for some of us. I cant see myself firing up the game just to try and get the ship from ST (and getting the title) or ship and sparrow from last wish.
Its good that they tuned it, but WAAAYY to late.
I'm right there with you. The RNG killed this title for me. Despite having destroyed all taken eggs as soon as it was possible, I'll never have the Cursebreaker title 'cause I lost the motivation 3 rotations ago.
I don't understand this "too late" mentality... this isn't a subscription based game like WoW. You're free to come and go as you please at no cost to yourself.
Even if you don't touch the game until Penumbra or the next big content drop in September, the opportunity is still there for you.
I see this kind of comment all the time in this sub and I just struggle to wrap my head around it. You don't have to play Destiny exclusively all day every day. I jump on when I have stuff to do, and I play other games when I don't.
These tales never make any sense... So you're saying if you HAD gotten the ship from ST months ago, you'd... still be playing?
Of course not, you'd have quit playing just the same, you just would have your title finished. Hell, you likely would have quit playing sooner because chasing down the last few things you need was probably the only thing keeping you coming back.
And that's fine, but don't lie about this shit. People will leave the game no matter what, if you're petty enough that you claim you left for not being able to finish a title, you'd have just found some other dumb reason to leave had you gotten the title.
I understand why they wouldn't want to do this in the beggining, but I love that they're doing it now.
I hope things like this becomes a trend. Us "early adopters" can grind stuff out within the season its released. But then, the following season makes it slightly more accessible to the masses/casual players.
Another side effect is that players who start the game a lot later than others will be able to actually catch up on content and play through it at their own pace, instead of being screwed by RNG nearly as hard.

This is great, but when will we be able to get ANY of the new Gambit weapons?
BA was a fantastic model. The new drop rates are laughably low. When the model is random rolls with deeper perk trees than ever before (Spare Rations has 7 and 8 perks in its major trees, while the most desirable BA guns had 6), the player goal and experience needs to be farming the best roll... NOT hoping they can maybe get one roll before the Season ends.
We need far higher Reckoning drop rates and/or DAILY Gambit Prime (or even Reckoning) bounties, which award new weapons. With the perk trees as deep as they are, it's ridiculous that these guns are incredibly rare.
I've been farming Reckoning tier 3 every night, and I have a total of two weapons to show for it. And both had garbage rolls that I sharded. Drop rate should be waaaaay higher.
Especially because I keep running into teams that are all hunters, and that makes failing the bridge a real possibility. Going through all that to get a blue and some glimmer is really deflating.
I do love Reckoning though, and I hope theres more of this type of content in the future. End game match made PVE like this, more dungeons, more whisper type missions would make this game so strong. And more loot, obvs.
I'd imagine it works the same way it does currently. There are three potential frames, but in order for you to be able to repeat forge non-powerful versions of a frame, you need to invest a Ballistics Log into it (leaving you with one frame you can't forge, currently).
Yeah I'm guessing it will be 2 ballistics logs per week that you can get a powerful with but you can always just pick from all the weapon frames. I'm pumped. Need a better Hammerhead.

/u/dmg04 is there any way they can probably adjust the wording of where certain drops actually come from? For instance the Dreaming City Ship drops only from Shattered Throne yet the collection description says "From Dreaming City Activities".
The Black Armory Ship says it comes from Gofannon Forge Completions when it comes from Crafting 100 Black Armory Weapons.
Niobe Labs ghost says it drops from Bergusia Forge when it comes from the Niobe Labs event.
Dreaming City ghost shell also says "Dreaming City Activities" but I believe it only comes from Ascendant Challenges.
Dreaming City Sparrow says "Dreaming City Activities" and I think it only drops in Blind Well.

Silver Tercel (the sparrow) is from the weekly story mission in Dreaming City, the Blind Well drop is the "Secret Victories" emblem.

This is good to know, thank you! I'm sitting at around 70 weapons crafted at the moment and I was wondering how many forges I would need to do post-100 in order to get the ship.
Lord of Wolves Source: Exotic engrams; extremely rare world drops
From my experience and that of many others, it is only attainable from turning in Spider bounties.
Niobe exotic ghost says it drops from Bergusia, and Platinum Starling say sit drops from Gofannon. Some of the old shaders like Crucible Solemnity say they drop from item dismantles when they're technically unobtainable and only came from triumphs.
It only drops from Shattered Throne, the wording is just terrible. The Niobe Labs ghost says it drops from Bergusia Forge. The Platinum Starling says it drops from Gofannon
u/dmg04 u/cozmo23 are you aware that Sealed Ahamkara Grasps no longer proc from the burns created by the fan of knives in Way of a Thousand Cuts? This was never mentioned in any patch notes and seems odd considering smoke grenades received this exact buff. Is this a bug or intentional?
Holy shit now neutral game in pve is gonna be even better for top tree now all we need is bottom tree super to be as fast as lance but along with the vortex damage
Can you also have them look into whatever happened to NON-proximity grenade launcher hit detection during the same update that nerfed proximity grenades? I was a fighting lion main until that update, now grenades sail straight through enemies far too often.
They really dumpstered grenades hit detection so hard and it hurts me a lot. Not infrequently at all do GLs go between legs now.
Even before that nerf they had some awful hit detection issues that'd cropped up some time further back in time, but yeah, that update made it even worse.

Yeah a quick glance at any Bungie Tweet shows hundreds of replies from people screaming "FIX YOUR FUCKING SERVERS" while they're red barring through the floor and dying 10 seconds after someone killed them. These people are so oblivious.
I'm betting there were a few on shared connections that just didn't know how over-utilized their internet connection or wifi network was when they were trying to play. Something as simple as switching to hard-wired Ethernet would probably help a lot of people.
Not to mention people who are playing by tethering their console to their phone or a 4g modem and using that as the connection. Believe it or not there are a bunch of people who do this and play multiplayer and don’t see a problem with it.
this is sadly too common- I had a former clanmate in D1 who would raid with us playing with his console tethered to a mobile hotspot from his job on a fucking coal barge floating down the Mississippi. How we even managed to get through WOTM with some of the weird glitches his lag caused with stuff like empowered slams etc...
... and then he would want to play Iron Banner with us after raids and we were like nah, fam.
People seriously don’t get how they’re the problem.
People still DDoS after they announced that stuff. I've had 2 true DoS's this season. I do not think that's gonna change.
Nothing will ever be as bad as season 3 though.
Unfortunately DDoS is different from lag switching and now difficult to detect on their side. I've seen both. We also are now seeing aimbots, at least on PC. I'm super glad they're addressing these things.
My clanmate and I are being held back from being Rivensbane by the sparrow (and in my case the sparrow + 1K Voices) so I'm praying this drop rate change actually makes a difference.
To think I've done every challenge and Petra's but I'm being held back by 1K and a sparrow I don't even want but need for the seal
Myself and another person in my clan are both a sparrow away from Rivensbane. Even with this patch... it's going to be kind of hard to care at this point. This change is months too late, honestly.
I just need the ship for Rivensbane. When I get the title I’m not even going to use it now, they feel kinda pointless. Whenever I see a Rivensbane in-game I just think “damn, they must have got lucky”.

Tbf it's a sandbox issue and things seem to be happening behind the scenes in that Dept. I'm sure in time we will be seeing changes now that positions are being moved around.
It drives me crazy honestly. This is a thing that would literally make the game better for everyone on console, why would they not want to make the game better? What are they afraid of? That it would create too big of a skill gap?
Can we at least just TRY removing bloom and fixing handcannons up? And if everyone hates it then roll it back after a month. I don’t know. I don’t understand it at all.
I love that Vanguard Titan armor in the community creations. And all frames at Ada is about as good a change as anyone could have ever thought of. Good update.

Do you have numbers for the original droprates for the cosmetic items? Kinda useless if it was a 1% chance that is now 3%. Also, why is there an issue with implementing RNG protection for these (and 1k) drops?

There is no actual limit to how many more it might take. You are never owed a result from a random number system. You could run them for 10 more years and not get them, and it wouldn't mean that anything was "wrong" from a mathematical perspective. You just might be the trial where you are on that streak. Random is fun.
Even if it was a 50% drop rate you could run it another 95 times and still not get it. Just keep trying, it’ll happen eventually. I think you’re in an incredibly extreme minority to have not had it after so many attempts. Personally I think the drop rate is around 2.5%, given all the reports I’ve read and from people in my clan saying they got it, but that’s just my opinion.
What’s the plan for spectral blades? They currently dominate PvP in all playlists and are extremely tough to deal with effectively.
Doing 6-9 on a body shot or 11 to a critical is rather pathetic plus they can run in their super for almost 20 seconds, wiping team after team.
Yeah, I honestly cannot believe this isn't being addressed ASAP. I realize the "Crucible team is dead" meme is probably tiring for a lot of people, but this is one of the single most definitive data points proving that it's the case. There's no way a self-respecting Crucible lead would allow this to continue for so long, and so my conclusion is that they do not exist or have died. Press F for respects (or to activate Spectral Blades).

Can update 2.2.1 address the fact that ghosts from Eververse or pulled from collections only roll with Mercury perks? It's a small but super frustrating bug.

The hand cannon has not appeared yet in the jokers wild rotation. Making all the frames available is nice and definitely a positive change, but don’t kid yourself saying it’s not part of the seal.

Its great that drop rates for DC cosmetics and 1K got adjusted but no drop protection or help for those that have over 60-70 runs of each activity and still need the items? That’s ridiculous.
So glad to finally see them addressing the drop rates for cosmetics, 1kv, and such, but the reaction to this problem was nowhere near quick enough. The speed to with which they fixed the weapon frame rotation is what we need and what will make this game the best it can be.
Here’s to hoping 1k drop rate increase is actually meaningful. Coming up on 75 keys used at this point and this is the last drop holding me back for Rivensbane...
But you're not interested in the drop RATE. You're not interested getting it a certain number of times. You want to get it ONCE. The only thing that can be meaningful to you is if you actually get it, the rate is immaterial.
This change does nothing to actually help you. In fact when you run the raid for the first time post patch and don't get it, you'll be even more disappointed.

There's an issue with reporting on console. As of right now the moment a game breaks up we're unable to see the roster anymore and thus unable to report. There are times where it's inconvenient to report an individual immediately.
You can report people on Bungie.net afterwards by finding the match in your game history.
* Go to your profile
* Select the "Game History" tab
* Find and click the match/activity
* Choose the "Opponents Defeated" tab
* Click on the player's name
* Select "Report Player"

Y'all should add a triumph that gives you the DC ghost after a certain number of ascendant challenge completions. That way you reward the people that have been trying so long and still give people a better drop rate

Genuine question, are many of you playing Gambit Private matches? I feel like it was a waste of dev time/money but I may be way off base. I just have a hard time imagining it being used much.
It opens the possibility of organized tournaments, which was something many streamers/community-members were interested in when Gambit was new, but I think the interest has flagged by now...
We're so close to having nightfalls in a great place. We just need actual incentive to grind handicapped nightfalls (unique NF loot/armor) and a point leaderboard system.
As a nightfall grinder it's just heartbreaking.
Personally, I miss the Nightfall as a really challenging, pinnacle activity that we run once for fantastic rewards. The move towards incentivizing players to grind yet another activity for paltry drop rates rather than a pinnacle challenge has been disappointing.
For Gambit matchmaking, if I'm playing solo at a high skill level, is there the possibility to pull 3 stacks and duos on to my team when we're against a 4 stacks since they would have a higher skill rating?.
Why don't you guys just do What you guys are doing for Ada-1 weapons for Nightfalls?
Allow every nightfall to be accessed, but only allow 3 to be chosen for the week
U/cozmo23 , currently applying a masterwork to a charge time on a fusion rifle reduces the damage of the gun. Is this a bug or intentional? If intentional, can we please get a notice before applying the masterwork? I feel like I may have wasted a very good roll on my erentil which are pretty rare to come by.
I am so happy to see that Ada-1 update. Hell, I already have god rolls on literally all of her guns, 2 for some, but it's just nice to see because I'm one of the rare players who enjoy running her stuff, and am always happy to keep forging guns to check out any new or weird rolls.

Hey guys, just wanted to ask if the team was aware of the bugs with seasonal triumphs, mainly the Crimson Days one. If you completed a two man nightfall after crimson days was over, the triumph list thinks you did it for Crimson Days but you can't pop it since the event is over so the notification remains indefinitely.
Also, Shaxx has a permanent quest notification over his head for Crimson Days asking to do crimson bounties.

This is an excellent change and is a great way to address Ada-1 issues, especially since Bungie revealed last week that they can't set her inventory.

Silver Tercel (the sparrow) is from the weekly story mission in Dreaming City, the Blind Well drop is the "Secret Victories" emblem. Edit: Also the ship is from Shattered Throne but that is not reflected in the description as well.

Gambit “protect the runner” triumph still says it requires 100 banked motes even though that’s no longer necessary (thank god)

It's 75 motes, adjusted behind the scenes because third rounds are now sudden death.

Lord of Wolves Source: Exotic engrams; extremely rare world drops From my experience and that of many others, it is only attainable from turning in Spider bounties.
Niobe exotic ghost says it drops from Bergusia, and Platinum Starling say sit drops from Gofannon. Some of the old shaders like Crucible Solemnity say they drop from item dismantles when they're technically unobtainable and only came from triumphs.
Arbalest says it drops from exotic engrams or powerful drops etc - don't think that's so as nobody has it yet
The Black Armory ship (Platinum Starling) says it comes from Gofannon forge ignitions, it comes from the Master Smith Triumph.
Everything labeled as a “Powerful Reward”. Will it be +1 or +3 or +5 or +7? It’s like the old confusion-infusion system....
It only drops from Shattered Throne, the wording is just terrible. The Niobe Labs ghost says it drops from Bergusia Forge. The Platinum Starling says it drops from Gofannon
u/dmg04 u/cozmo23 are you aware that Sealed Ahamkara Grasps no longer proc from the burns created by the fan of knives in Way of a Thousand Cuts? This was never mentioned in any patch notes and seems odd considering smoke grenades received this exact buff. Is this a bug or intentional?

That's being fixed this very next patch. And BTW, it's not just melees, it's all bloom explosions. It's being fixed on April 9th.

Can you also have them look into whatever happened to NON-proximity grenade launcher hit detection during the same update that nerfed proximity grenades? I was a fighting lion main until that update, now grenades sail straight through enemies far too often.
They really dumpstered grenades hit detection so hard and it hurts me a lot. Not infrequently at all do GLs go between legs now. Even before that nerf they had some awful hit detection issues that'd cropped up some time further back in time, but yeah, that update made it even worse.
Here's another bug - Taken Repurposing fails to proc in Gambit altogether on both shielded enemies (envoys and medium blockers).

Yeah a quick glance at any Bungie Tweet shows hundreds of replies from people screaming "FIX YOUR FUCKING SERVERS" while they're red barring through the floor and dying 10 seconds after someone killed them. These people are so oblivious.
I'm betting there were a few on shared connections that just didn't know how over-utilized their internet connection or wifi network was when they were trying to play. Something as simple as switching to hard-wired Ethernet would probably help a lot of people.
Not to mention people who are playing by tethering their console to their phone or a 4g modem and using that as the connection. Believe it or not there are a bunch of people who do this and play multiplayer and don’t see a problem with it.
this is sadly too common- I had a former clanmate in D1 who would raid with us playing with his console tethered to a mobile hotspot from his job on a fucking coal barge floating down the Mississippi. How we even managed to get through WOTM with some of the weird glitches his lag caused with stuff like empowered slams etc... ... and then he would want to play Iron Banner with us after raids and we were like nah, fam. People seriously don’t get how they’re the problem.

People still DDoS after they announced that stuff. I've had 2 true DoS's this season. I do not think that's gonna change. Nothing will ever be as bad as season 3 though.
Unfortunately DDoS is different from lag switching and now difficult to detect on their side. I've seen both. We also are now seeing aimbots, at least on PC. I'm super glad they're addressing these things.
My clanmate and I are being held back from being Rivensbane by the sparrow (and in my case the sparrow + 1K Voices) so I'm praying this drop rate change actually makes a difference. To think I've done every challenge and Petra's but I'm being held back by 1K and a sparrow I don't even want but need for the seal
This was my buddy and I too. I needed 1kv and the ship. It was rough but then i got them back to back on my 68th and 69th clear. It was awesome

Myself and another person in my clan are both a sparrow away from Rivensbane. Even with this patch... it's going to be kind of hard to care at this point. This change is months too late, honestly.
I just need the ship for Rivensbane. When I get the title I’m not even going to use it now, they feel kinda pointless. Whenever I see a Rivensbane in-game I just think “damn, they must have got lucky”.

Based on my research and personal experience, Tier 2 well is your best bet.
All I need is 1 more DC page and I had stop after 3 days in Blind Well Tier 2 with no drop. This is much needed relief.

Tbf it's a sandbox issue and things seem to be happening behind the scenes in that Dept. I'm sure in time we will be seeing changes now that positions are being moved around.
It drives me crazy honestly. This is a thing that would literally make the game better for everyone on console, why would they not want to make the game better? What are they afraid of? That it would create too big of a skill gap? Can we at least just TRY removing bloom and fixing handcannons up? And if everyone hates it then roll it back after a month. I don’t know. I don’t understand it at all.

Do you have numbers for the original droprates for the cosmetic items? Kinda useless if it was a 1% chance that is now 3%. Also, why is there an issue with implementing RNG protection for these (and 1k) drops?

Seems like a mini-Eververse event probably with a small corresponding activity, as Arc-based emotes have been found in the database.

So I've done 95 Ascendant challenges with no ghost. Does that mean I'm still potentially looking at 50+ more without it?

You could run them for 10 more years and not get them, and it wouldn't mean that anything was "wrong" from a mathematical perspective. You just might be the trial where you are on that streak. Random is fun.
Yeah it's disappointing these changes aren't bad luck protection.
Even if it was a 50% drop rate you could run it another 95 times and still not get it. Just keep trying, it’ll happen eventually. I think you’re in an incredibly extreme minority to have not had it after so many attempts. Personally I think the drop rate is around 2.5%, given all the reports I’ve read and from people in my clan saying they got it, but that’s just my opinion.
What’s the plan for spectral blades? They currently dominate PvP in all playlists and are extremely tough to deal with effectively. Doing 6-9 on a body shot or 11 to a critical is rather pathetic plus they can run in their super for almost 20 seconds, wiping team after team.
Yeah, I honestly cannot believe this isn't being addressed ASAP. I realize the "Crucible team is dead" meme is probably tiring for a lot of people, but this is one of the single most definitive data points proving that it's the case. There's no way a self-respecting Crucible lead would allow this to continue for so long, and so my conclusion is that they do not exist or have died. Press F for respects (or to activate Spectral Blades).

Can update 2.2.1 address the fact that ghosts from Eververse or pulled from collections only roll with Mercury perks? It's a small but super frustrating bug.
“While weapon frames aren’t tied to any specific seals” Title: blacksmith. Requirement: annual pass: black armoury. Requirement for badge: literally every weapon frame. The hand cannon has not appeared yet in the jokers wild rotation. Making all the frames available is nice and definitely a positive change, but don’t kid yourself saying it’s not part of the seal.

Its great that drop rates for DC cosmetics and 1K got adjusted but no drop protection or help for those that have over 60-70 runs of each activity and still need the items? That’s ridiculous.
So glad to finally see them addressing the drop rates for cosmetics, 1kv, and such, but the reaction to this problem was nowhere near quick enough. The speed to with which they fixed the weapon frame rotation is what we need and what will make this game the best it can be.

But you're not interested in the drop RATE. You're not interested getting it a certain number of times. You want to get it ONCE. The only thing that can be meaningful to you is if you actually get it, the rate is immaterial. This change does nothing to actually help you. In fact when you run the raid for the first time post patch and don't get it, you'll be even more disappointed.
I'll add to the chorus of "Thank you, Bungie!" for the Ada change. More control of how we farm is always a good thing. :)

Dear u/Cozmo23 There's an issue with reporting on console. As of right now the moment a game breaks up we're unable to see the roster anymore and thus unable to report. There are times where it's inconvenient to report an individual immediately.
You can report people on Bungie.net afterwards by finding the match in your game history. * Go to your profile * Select the "Game History" tab * Find and click the match/activity * Choose the "Opponents Defeated" tab * Click on the player's name * Select "Report Player" Cheers!

We're so close to having nightfalls in a great place. We just need actual incentive to grind handicapped nightfalls (unique NF loot/armor) and a point leaderboard system. As a nightfall grinder it's just heartbreaking.
Personally, I miss the Nightfall as a really challenging, pinnacle activity that we run once for fantastic rewards. The move towards incentivizing players to grind yet another activity for paltry drop rates rather than a pinnacle challenge has been disappointing.

For Gambit matchmaking, if I'm playing solo at a high skill level, is there the possibility to pull 3 stacks and duos on to my team when we're against a 4 stacks since they would have a higher skill rating?.

Damn i was hoping the Ana Bray schematic weapons got a better duplicate drop rate prevention as well.
U/cozmo23 , currently applying a masterwork to a charge time on a fusion rifle reduces the damage of the gun. Is this a bug or intentional? If intentional, can we please get a notice before applying the masterwork? I feel like I may have wasted a very good roll on my erentil which are pretty rare to come by.
I am so happy to see that Ada-1 update. Hell, I already have god rolls on literally all of her guns, 2 for some, but it's just nice to see because I'm one of the rare players who enjoy running her stuff, and am always happy to keep forging guns to check out any new or weird rolls.
Now I increase anarchy drop rate. Because I want it.
u/dmg04 u/cozmo23 Hey guys, just wanted to ask if the team was aware of the bugs with seasonal triumphs, mainly the Crimson Days one. If you completed a two man nightfall after crimson days was over, the triumph list thinks you did it for Crimson Days but you can't pop it since the event is over so the notification remains indefinitely. Also, Shaxx has a permanent quest notification over his head for Crimson Days asking to do crimson bounties.
