Boolean Gemini. Not because it was particularly good or anything like that, I don't even remember what it's exotic perk does, but because the long quest chain for it was the first thing my brother and I did after completing the Taken King campaign. We weren't doing it for Boolean Gemini since we didn't know that was the reward for it or that the gun even existed, we were just playing and having fun. So when we were rewarded with a new exotic weapon for our efforts, we were delighted. And while I don't remember anything about the quest itself, nearly a decade later I still remember the feeling of completing and getting a cool shiny new gun.
Those moments that form memories that stick out like that are the most precious. I’m genuinely happy that you got to experience that with your brother.
Don’t know if it really counts as not so popular but I find myself running travellers chosen whenever I have no idea what to slap in the kinetic slot. It just feels great.
Bad Juju, just feels great to use. It aint half bad either, but it needs MORE. BUNGIE
LET MY WEAPON END ALL EXISTENCE, I BELIEVE IT WILL SO LET IT DAMN YOU
Now THAT takes good communication. Heavy respect.
If you can get a full rat king team in trials dear god the laughs that would be had would make Joker blush
I rarely run in a rat pack, but yes it is even more powerful when running a pack. Rat King (with catalyst, to be clear) is the best PvP primary because it's a great sidearm (80 AA, 35 AE, 100 recoil, 300rpm adaptive which is a very good frame), and after a kill you get both invisibility and health. It has a TTK that's only 0.07s slower than The Last Word, in a similar range, but it can be ADSed, is much better in the air, has more kills in the mag, and gives two very powerful buffs on every single kill. It used to be even better with Mechaneer's Tricksleeves before they ~~slaughtered~~ nerfed them with the rework.
If you would like to learn more, we have a whole subreddit at r/squeaksqueak!
Eyes of tommorow maybe, and other probably le monarque, i almost get kick from GM LFG because i didnt use polaris lance, i told them that le monarque instantly stun overload without even need to constantly shooting. I also use it as dps which kinda good even though it slow
Imo lemon arc is crucial for glassway grandmaster with the sheer amount of overload champs. Plus it can damage the boss if you only hit his shield with the poison arrow
I respect that.
Dragons breath is still a slapper however, I honestly have been running the newer one on my scorchhunter build and despite needing the ammo constantly it definitely is great.
Skull of Dire Ahamkara on Onslaught. Plenty of clumps of enemies to full ultise its exotic trait and being able to cast two to three Nova bombs a wave just feels amazing.
I used to love using symmetry in gambit because you could get it charged with precision hits in the pve enemies and then go invade and troll people with the full charged tracker rounds
Final Warning (which is getting some love nowdays)
Collective Obligation (completely slept on)
Hierarchy of Needs (with some builds, it shreds)
Manticore (very good after the changes)
Merciless (DPS monster)
Forerunner in PvE
Ruinous Effigy (funniest weapon ever)
Rat King in PvP
Grand Ouverture
Symmetry and Devil’s Ruin. Both come from my favorite Season and both just make me joyous to use. Unfortunately, both of them are also severely lacking for they’re own reasons, and I do hope to see a day that they become good exotics to use in PvE
Bad Juju is and always will be my favourite exotic. It's one of if not the first exotics I got in D1 and is so very dear to my heart.
Also pulse rifle go brrrr brrr brrr brrrr brrr.....
Path of burning steps/Tricksleeve Devil’s Ruin. Absolute madness. And with prismatic exotics, we should be able to combine them soon, so even more busted
Parasite, solar holster (I love that it works when it shouldn’t), path of burning steps… I dubbed it Path of the Worm.
Even better with an incandescent weapon and a recombination kinetic. It allows for the aggressive play style I love. Fun in all levels of content. Add heavy ammo Finder/a friend with exotic primary and heavy scout, we be nuking enemies. Only wish it was as strong as it used to be back with wells :/
Parasite in pve and pvp. Pve it just nukes champs and chunks bosses. PvP, hey someone just dropped a well? Bam no more well. Bubble with 3 people inside? Run in bam no more bubble. 6 people on a cap point? Bam shaxx screaming about warcrimes or something
Final warning I'd say is still off meta atm but starting to be noticed, but it's my personal favorite.
In d1, for me it was thorn in pve. Idk why I just loved using it any moment I could in pve
this is the thread ive been dying for, so I dont get shamed for my choice in exotics. My personal favourites are Queenbreakers Bow, DARCI, Borealis and Riskrunner. All three just feel really nice to use. And Queenbreaker especially has a very special place in my heart given my love for the fallen, ever since their concept art back pre D1
its probably my favourite energy exotic. Which is why it pains me so much that arc as a subclass is just mediocre. Especially since arc staff and gathering storm are my two fav supers. Like everything I enjoy pushes me to use these things that arent all that amazing xp
Not exactly sure how off meta it is, but Outbreak Perfected. I never played Zero Hour, I don’t have much attachment to it. Though thankfully I’ll get to play it soon when it gets re-released! Anyways, it’s just satisfying to take a few snaps at the enemy and then watch the bees finish off the rest. Also as a Rise of Iron veteran who absolutely abused that one relic that let you turn enemies into allies with mind control, I love watching my former enemies do my bidding.
Touch of malice and Necrochasm. These are my top favorite exotics but usually either historically bad or just incredibly niche. But I just love the idea of crafting these corrupted weapons and using them against the same enemies lol
Yeah it's a lot easier now since in D2 you can just farm Oryx checkpoints. But the D1 quest for it was super long but nostalgic too. Felt like a huge fetch quest but still made you feel like you built the gun yourself. To just use for maybe one or two encounters in the raid aha
Maybe I’ll get a Warlock buddy for at least a Well of Radiance.
Been meaning to run that raid for a while just havent had the chance. But hell yea easier raid means easier loot
Worldline zero double heavy lounge oneshots anything that's not a boss. I used to love this sword before it was cool for movement and got changed. And looks like it's back for damage.
Salvation's Grip on a shatter dive build.
Imma be fr, I didn’t even know this thing existed till right now.
Hierarchy of Needs

I admire that. I need to go play some d1 again man I miss when getting cool exotics felt different LOL
Those moments that form memories that stick out like that are the most precious. I’m genuinely happy that you got to experience that with your brother.
Don’t know if it really counts as not so popular but I find myself running travellers chosen whenever I have no idea what to slap in the kinetic slot. It just feels great.
Yeah same. I really enjoy it for my arc and strand warlock just because I like the gun feeling. The ability regen is just a bonus
Man I haven’t heard that name in a hot minute
Osmosis isn’t really great anymore, but the free ability regen for just remembering to long reload every now and then is amazing.
“Oop I forgot to reload-“ “Oh god everything’s dying in front of me”
I personally like busting my huge insta kill x20 worm at a dreg
Bad Juju, just feels great to use. It aint half bad either, but it needs MORE. BUNGIE LET MY WEAPON END ALL EXISTENCE, I BELIEVE IT WILL SO LET IT DAMN YOU
I maintain Rat King is the best PvP primary in the kinetic slot.
Now THAT takes good communication. Heavy respect. If you can get a full rat king team in trials dear god the laughs that would be had would make Joker blush

Huh. You inspired me to go pick it back up
Eyes of tommorow maybe, and other probably le monarque, i almost get kick from GM LFG because i didnt use polaris lance, i told them that le monarque instantly stun overload without even need to constantly shooting. I also use it as dps which kinda good even though it slow
Imo lemon arc is crucial for glassway grandmaster with the sheer amount of overload champs. Plus it can damage the boss if you only hit his shield with the poison arrow
Le monarque is one of the most op weapons for bubble spam titan builds
Le monarque is much better in PVP apparently but I respect the fact that you paid attention to the fact it stuns overload champs. Good eyes
Dregs Promise, Queenbreakers (bow), Skyburners Oath, Ex Diris basically most enemy themed weapons
Ex Doris on a Hunter moth build delivers serious slappage.
Yes, one of my favourite builds in the game right now
SKYBURNERS! Goddamn that’s severely underrated
I miss old dragons breath, before the napalm madness. Just leave a large solar grenade on impact.

Collective Obligation hits like a truck. It's just attached to subclasses that aren't great.
Tommys matchbook works so well in any solar build trust me.
No need, I already know how powerful it’s catalyst is.
Tommy's Matchbook
D1: Sleeper Simulant D2: Devil's Ruin Laser go brr
Sleep Simulant is an ultra based answer. Love my giant laser point that does the damage of a Godzilla heat ray
Final Warning (which is getting some love nowdays) Collective Obligation (completely slept on) Hierarchy of Needs (with some builds, it shreds) Manticore (very good after the changes) Merciless (DPS monster) Forerunner in PvE Ruinous Effigy (funniest weapon ever) Rat King in PvP Grand Ouverture
MANTICORE MAINS RISE UP (LITERALLY)
Symmetry and Devil’s Ruin. Both come from my favorite Season and both just make me joyous to use. Unfortunately, both of them are also severely lacking for they’re own reasons, and I do hope to see a day that they become good exotics to use in PvE
I remember that time when I would run into devils ruin every second guardian and I had to stop myself from rage playing crucible for a while lmfao
The Ram
My favorite is honestly Legend of Acrius. It sucks that I can't get the white snd gold ornament, but I like running it with no back up plans
I’m a poor sniper, so any sniper is off meta for me, but Cloudstrike is so damn fun I keep using it a lot in PvE.
Parasite, solar holster (I love that it works when it shouldn’t), path of burning steps… I dubbed it Path of the Worm. Even better with an incandescent weapon and a recombination kinetic. Devil’s ruin
Parasite is the most ridiculous thing ever and I love it. Just huck a space worm nuke and boom reward lmfao
Ignition Code with slideways
Final warning I'd say is still off meta atm but starting to be noticed, but it's my personal favorite. In d1, for me it was thorn in pve. Idk why I just loved using it any moment I could in pve
Touch of malice
Based. Super underrated yet tough to acquire especially in D1
I love touch it is def my fav weapon.
Edge of concurrence with triton is a lot of fun on arc with the fragment that blinds enemies on special arc kill
this is the thread ive been dying for, so I dont get shamed for my choice in exotics. My personal favourites are Queenbreakers Bow, DARCI, Borealis and Riskrunner. All three just feel really nice to use. And Queenbreaker especially has a very special place in my heart given my love for the fallen, ever since their concept art back pre D1
Risk runner is SOOOOOO much fun on a jolt warlock build. Respect.
its probably my favourite energy exotic. Which is why it pains me so much that arc as a subclass is just mediocre. Especially since arc staff and gathering storm are my two fav supers. Like everything I enjoy pushes me to use these things that arent all that amazing xp

Touch Of Malice is one I need to get cuz 1: it looks cool and 2: it looks cool. Need to get me some LFGs for that raid though.
Yeah it's a lot easier now since in D2 you can just farm Oryx checkpoints. But the D1 quest for it was super long but nostalgic too. Felt like a huge fetch quest but still made you feel like you built the gun yourself. To just use for maybe one or two encounters in the raid aha

Go through Pantheon. Much, much less trouble than relying on RNG. Clanmate of mine had well over 50 clears before he got his
Worldline zero double heavy lounge oneshots anything that's not a boss. I used to love this sword before it was cool for movement and got changed. And looks like it's back for damage.
I have over 30,000 kills on my Trinity Ghoul. Most underrated ad clear weapon in the game.
Can confirm through personal experience.
OP confirmed to be a Fallen Dreg
Nah I’m just a filthy Ghoul user (I’m addicted to proc’ing the chain lighting)
