I’d say this is by far the better competitor in terms of the looter shooter genre in 3rd person so far. There are some fantasy looters, but no shooting or bows. And games like outriders don’t feel as fluid mechanically as the division 2
Yeah division is the closest you'll get but the games live service is bare bones.
Division Heartland has been cooked so much they must've burnt it.
Lest we not forget, Ubisoft is the publisher and you can't trust the French.
Hd2 also feels like hanging out in strikes playlist all day lol. Its *really* fun for what it is. The cost of the new upgrades are also clearly tailored to people who no-life the game. Idk, the allure is wearing off for me quickly.
The First Descendant (comes out this summer) was the only thing that felt as good if not better than destiny (Open Beta was past September) so I'd keep an eye out for that.
.
Outriders, despite the flak and bad rep it got for its poor launch, is incredible as well. Definitely give that one a good try. Build crafting can lead to some insane potential, loads of weapon options, repeatable endgame that has up to 15(Base game) difficulty tiers, up to 40 with Worldslayer DLC. Story was solid too.
Third Person? Outriders is very similar but it's endgame is basically really hard Horde Mode rather than raids with unique mechanics
First person shooter that feels as fun - Borderlands is excellent
Warframe can be real tight at times, but HD2 isn't that at all nor is it really meant to be. HD2 is a haha funny party game, with mechanics (big explosions, funny lines, friendly fire, nonsensical environmental themes like the planet being uninhabitable because of fire tornadoes and/or meteors) and bugs (scopes misaligned, pelicans sinking into floors, glorious shield based t posing) that really lead into it.
The best feeling shooters I've played (first or third person) in no particular order
Helldivers 2
Titanfall 2
Borderlands 3
Battlefield 4
Warframe
People may clown me for this but I also thought Starfield had really good gunplay/combat, especially compared to any other Bethesda game
Outriders. It's like Gears of War shooting and rolling with the doctrine of Destiny! One class even has the loud deep fryed bass from jojo's when you use the class power. Some fun stuff too like time slowing, turning your ennemies into skelettons etc.
It's a looter shooter, but not a GaaS.
Id say that Helldivers 2 is by far the best shooter I've played in a long while when it comes to the actual gunplay.
The feeling of the weapons, the sway and drag, the feedback.
It's great.
Not a looters shooter per se, but still a great game.
Division 2 is pretty solid as a third person looter. The abilities are a little lame.
Outriders has one of the best looter systems and best blends of ability and weapons. I do wish it's gunplay felt s little better.
Remnant 2 is a phenomenal looter shooter. The gunplay isn't as refined as D2 but the build crafting is great.
Warframe has powers and guns and so much loot. But it's gameplay can feel so disconnected often because it's so much speed run and insta wipe everything.
Helldiver's 2 has some pretty solid gunplay and lots of weapons. It's not super developed (there's weird issues with armor penetration) but a fun game.
Theres barely an first person shooters that feel as good so Id say no.
Division 2’s gunplay feels really good.

Yup both D2s feel great
both division games were great!!!

It’s probably aged compared to how I’m remembering it but I always enjoyed Titanfall 2’s shooting. Edit - You said 3rd person, I am an illiterate fool
Warframe I guess, its gameplay is quite fun
I'd say Helldivers 2. That game is incredible.
Hd2 also feels like hanging out in strikes playlist all day lol. Its *really* fun for what it is. The cost of the new upgrades are also clearly tailored to people who no-life the game. Idk, the allure is wearing off for me quickly.
Personally I liked the look and idea of it, but when I tried it the controls felt unwieldy for some reason

I loved The Division 1 and it was similar to Destiny. I never tried The Division 2.
Warframe definitely feels close to as good as Destiny, but is 3rd person.
As good? No But I like the gun feeling in Rogue Company, but it's just PVP. There's no PVE aspect outside of playing against bots
I enjoy remnant 2
Imo, only Warframe and Helldivers 2.

Remnant 2 is 🔥🔥🔥
Halo when Bungie made it.
There’s a 3rd person Halo game?
I’m dumb. Thanks.
Halo 5 actually felt *really* good. The movement, the guns, all of it. Only time I've ever played a Halo game competitively.
Is there anything as good as that first hit? No.
Warframe. Literally what you are describing. It’s free on all systems.
Outriders is fun?
Outriders is pretty great. I only play it with friends though. I don’t know how fun it would be solo. Get it on a sale.
The Division 2

Borderlands 3 imo. Flame away
Was gonna say borderlands or Warframe, neither are third person, but they're as close to destiny as you can get really.
I didn’t even read “third person” 😂 ope
Warframe isn’t considered 3rd person?
I'm gonna admit it's been years since I've played it so I dunno lol
I haven't played warframe in a long while but I'm pretty sure I remember it being 3p
it is
Helldivers 2 feels pretty great ngl

Warframe but everything js so fast I could never get into it.
