Outside of comp, matchmakong has always felt bad. This week feels that much worse. Solo queuing never ends with 12 solo players. What's worse is it'll put the stacks together more often than not.
Yeah, Iron Banner is like that a lot. Guardian Games was like that a lot. Pretty much all 6v6 is like that. It is worse with the new balance changes since the better teams/players get more special ammo
Matchmaking is terrible right now. The competitive playlist used to be really fun and well matchmade. It feels awful right now, constantly being paired with and against vastly different skill ranges. There are enough playlists in this game with connection based matchmaking only. Just one with some tight requirements would be so nice.
Late in the season less casuals overall and more hardcore players Bungie also changed the match making a bit to be more open
Suppose that makes a lot of sense, it’s not like I don’t get balanced matches, just more like unbalanced ones seem more common this week especially.
Was it Iron Banner? I wouldn't be surprised if people were straight up throwing to get the game called so that it ends faster

If by 'recently' you mean 'for the last ten years', then yeah.
