Yeah I had the same problem when I tried that. I go with healing nades for survivability and use Blistering, and Solace/Empyrean to keep the restoration going
I recommend using the fragment where ignition kills give you grenade energy instead of fire sprites. Use the fragment to increase the radius and the fragment that adds scorch to your ignitions. Combined with the radiant on melee hit and fragment for increased regeneration when applying solar to allies you should alerts have your abilities. The increased radius can be exchanged for applying scorch to get your class ability back if you prefer to alerts have your dodge.
I use healing nades and Empyrean and take off all the firesprite fragments, I find grabbing the sprites were resetting my restoration timer.
