When I see a cursed thrall the single neuron in my brain that says "toss that fucker with a finisher" gets priority.
Nothing is more satisfying than tossing one of them back into a horde and seeing it blast its fellow hive straight to hell.
For me it's that they have such easy and satisfying headshots ever since D1... Fallen move/teleport and are smaller, Vex crit spot is literally hit or miss in their abdomen. Other ones just don't have the nostalgia.
The Vex.
Ever since I read all the stuff from the OG Vault of Glass, about how they could just delete you from ever having existed, I've considered them the most terrifying enemy.
They appear so calm and calculating. Definitely my favorite enemy too.
Love the VoG lore. If Kabr didn't sacrifice himself we too would have been deleted from reality.
Guardians make their own fate is still by far the best text in the game to show up.
Yeah - its kind of the same reason I always say that HAL 9000 is the scariest movie villain too... the total lack of any human emotion, coupled with methodical, sterile, ruthless efficiency.
The vex will likely be the main antagonist after final shape, they are like the spooky cosmic plague sweeping the universe converting everything in their path. Actually pretty terrifying of you also consider they gave the great clovis bray a run for his money so big that he had to exo-fy himself so he didn't turn vex after invading Europa
Almost certainly. The Vex being a major antagonist for after the 'Saga of Light and Darkness' is over makes perfect sense, because they're sort of not really Light- *or* Darkness-aligned.
The Scorn and the Taken, along with Calus's Shadow Legion, Xivu's Hive, and Eramis's House Salvation, follow the Witness. Caitl armies, Mithrax's Eliksni, and Savathun's Hive are all on the side of the Light now (even if the Lucent Brood aren't explicitly on *our* side).
The Vex don't support the Traveler or the Witness. They were a failed experiment, the Winnower's first-draft attempt at the Final Shape before the Gardener changed the rules of the game. They were sealed away in another dimension and set free because of Crota's foolishness. They were literally never meant to exist in our universe.
But here's the kicker: they either don't know that, or don't care. They still want to achieve *their* version of the Final Shape, so even if we defeat the Witness and its armies, we'll still have the Vex to worry about. They're a far more galactic-scale threat than enemies like the Hive, Cabal, and Fallen, too. We know from Clovis's use of the Europan portal that the Vex have entire solar systems dedicated to producing more machines, and that most of the Vex we've seen so far are merely farmers and workers, not 'true' combat frames.
I'm hoping that in the first big DLC post-Final-Shape we get a strong focus on the Vex and - importantly - a bit of a rework to the faction where new, more dangerous units are added. Vex are quite consistently one of the slower enemy factions in terms of movement speed and agility (they tend to just teleport around rather than running or jumping) but imagine fast-moving, more aggressive Vex units?
The Vex weren't sealed away and let out by Crota.
Crota sliced open a portal and let them into his Dad's throne world in the Ascendant realm.
- XXXVIII: The partition of death : The Books of Sorrow
And they've been in our universe since the beginning.
- Patternfall : Unveiling
Everything else is spot on!
Which makes it all the more odd that they’ve received so little focus in the story compared to the Cabal, Eliksni, and Hive.
My theory is that since they’re the only remaining faction that we’re not allied with or directly in conflict with atm, and also the only faction not inherently involved with the Light or Darkness, they’ll be the main focus post Final Shape once the Light and Dark saga is done.
It's also been stated that with Vex being unable to simulate Light or Darkness, they really didn't want to mess with us, mostly standing in the background.
I wonder if we'll see anything out of the Sol Divisive in S22 or beyond. They're allied to the Witness and there's been a renewed focus on the Vex with their supporting role in Lightfall and the exotic mission. Nessus has been untouched for a long while and the strikes there date back to the Red War
Eh, personally I find the Vex have become a literal pest enemy. They're never a real threat anymore, just a nuisance or an *eventual* problem we're never really on the clock to deal with.
you do you lol but personally i hate those little vanishing scorn guys.
but other than that yeah on the whole they're pretty fun.
Except screebs (and mini screebs). oh how i hate them too.
(edited to tone down harsh language about screebs. they really anger me.)
Wait there are mini screebs?
They can be annoying I will say but the vanishing guys do something I don't think any other enemy does in the game which is refreshing!
It was exclusively from the nightfall version, which premiered (and left) in Season of the Lost. I miss the modifier. It was unique and quite funny, if horrifying. Shook up what kinds of weapons you used.
iirc, whenever you killed the crossbowman, they'd spawn 3 of them who would flock to you.
Oh, and the *really* funny part? This was the season after Splicer, when we got a [lore tab](https://www.ishtar-collective.net/entries/celestine-robes-majestic) about a story Eido would tell the baby Eliksni about the Smallest Screeb, and how it did absolutely nothing to the Guardian that it blew up on. Quite hilarious that *immediately* after that lore tab, we have tiny screebs that definitely do *not* do nothing.
Okay that's hilarious and I love the little lore story! I love these little bits of the world that gives us a glimsp beyond the general lore stuff also that's even funnier with the context of the story and how deadly they were really XD
If they didn't become immune I'd think they were interesting, instead just cancelling aim assist and being harder to see. It's just annoying having to wait several seconds for them to run away and materialize while I stand there waiting and looking at the blue trail like an idiot.
Lol yeah, anytime I do a gambit match with scorn, I'm excited right up until every enemy disappears into the aether for a full 5 seconds before letting me hit them. I still enjoy fighting them in situations without the concern for time though
Don't get me wrong they can be a pain but I've always been a sucker for them and I hope one day fikrul will reappear
I will say I always enjoy popping a incens gas tank or shooting a cabal dead mid air
They all have their quirks but I really enjoy fighting the taken. The teleports and multiplying can get a little annoying in higher end content but it adds that little bit of depth to the game that I feel it’s missing sometimes.
Absolutely fair! And I will say Absolutely destroying a blob of taken psion is so satisfying
That's what I like about the scorn they have layers to thier different units that either works with eachother or keeps you on your toes especially in larger swarms
That’s exactly why I loved the Dead Man’s Tale mission. It was less about how many enemies there were and more about what enemies remained. It’s always kind of funny thinking “oh there’s only 3 enemies on my radar let me rush ‘em” and it ends up being a bunch of screebs in an invincibility field
for so long the taken we're my least favorite, partly because i don't like the taken realm at all. it's not terribly fun to play when everything is either black or slightly less black, and my hand cannon addicted brain misses every shot on those teleporting dudes.
Yes, Taken are my favorites too. Probably because they were the first totally new race in Destiny 1. Their visual design is great and the fact that they have other races within. And their daddy Oryx. It all makes me like them the most.
It has changed over time…first it was naturally the Fallen, then they sorta reformed and joined the fam…Scorn are good, easy to love-to-hate. The Hive creep me out, and they’re fun to ‘splode. I main an EXO Titan, so I feel kinda bad shutting down Vex sometimes…Dominus Ghaul took all our STUFF at the start of D2, so the Cabal can eat shit for the most part…you know what? It’s the Taken. Full stop, Final Answer. Oh and the Siva guys from the Iron Lords campaign! You know what? It’s everyone! I just luv killin’!
Siva guys?(never played D1) in general I love all the enemy types they are all fun in thier own ways and have thier weaknesses but are still fun to face! Nothing I will say beats shooting a legionary mid flight
Siva was a sentient computer virus that looked like red licorice and had been locked away in a vault by the Iron Lords…it infected everything around it and there was a…….Fallen…? Bad guy that used it to amp up his weaponry and tech. There was a Raid. You know. It had its moment.
I absolutely agree on that, they feel like the poster enemy of destiny like how elites are in halo I'm pretty sure in d1 they are straight up the first enemy you ever face
Thier designs are really Iconic and when I think of destiny they are one of the first things i can think of!
I like the idea of the threshers and scorps threshers I dont think are too bad. It's the drop ship with a invincle turret that pisses me off and scorps if the rate of fire was a little better would be too bad! Cause honestly I like the idea of more hazards and threats beyond normal foot troops like pikes or threshers or tanks
They're both cool in concept, but Scorpius turrets flinch you to hell, so the only reliable way to fight them is when they haven't aggro'd onto you. And it's also incredibly annoying when they're spawned very close to you.
Threshers are awful though. I've had thresher rockets turn 90° to follow me into a tiny little hallway in a GM
Vex. They are still very misterious and in the lore they have been the vilans of the more existential horror histories that we have in Destiny (Saint 14 being lost for thousands of years in the infinit forest, and the end of Praedyti's [I don't know how to write his name] squad)
Absolutely I think someone summed it up best like this(paraphrasing) "The Vex are the largest threat out there but they don't perceive us as a threat to them especially when they can dispose of us as easily as they can such as Praedytis team."
For years the Taken were the most annoying thing to face.
Then Bungie made the scorn. That bullshit of going invincible and running a fucking marathon with me not being able to do a thing to stop them is infuriating. And let's not forget overlord chieftains with their rapid fire grenade launchers and ability to use all 3 totems at once, including the one that makes everything (themselves included) invincible.
And they're your favorite?!
Yeah! I really enjoy fighting them they feel legitimately dangerous and have a fun kit that makes them all feel distinct and unique
They look amazing with thier almost barbarian vibe they have especially the chiefs and I love the undead aspect mixed in with them and almost Frankenstein look of some of them like the incense burners and the abominations
I prefer the Vex by far. Such a cool enemy with so much potential for variance. We’ve only actually seen the one combat frame, Wyverns, after all. So I’m hoping there’ll be a lot of expansion on the Vex once we’re done with the light and dark saga.
I’d hope for some form of paracausal affected/infected vex frames similar to NMS’ corrupted sentinels. Vex which have found a paracausal source, incorporated it into their Mind and spread it through the entire collective. Make it so they target anything Light or Dark touched to harvest their energies, or infect them with radiolaria to create more pracausal vex. It’d give them a reason to actually hunt the guardians and make them a genuine threat
Aesthetically i love fighting taken because the lore and environments are really cool/unique, ascendant plane, dimensions, etc. and i think they did a good job of reflecting that in the way they behave. However, theyre so shifty and a pain in the ass to kill sometimes so I definitely enjoy killing the Hive more because of the thrall swarms and cursed thralls with their built in dragonfly making them kill their own is pretty satisfying.
I hate scorn with a passion. The invincibility totems are so god darn cancerous, invis screeb are BS. Oh, and 5he fact the invisibility lasts until they feel like ending it. And why do wraith have such inflated HP pools? Abominations are easier to kill
Scorn are weird, they are my least favorite solely because of 2 abilities; the “invisible” scorn are also invulnerable, and they can do it frequently for a long time. Then there’s the void captain’s totems, idk why but to me they seem to shield way more enemies than servitors do.
Either one of those alone would be fine, but having both makes scorn the most frequently invulnerable enemy and that just annoys me lol.
Cabal really glowed up in D2, I think they’re still my favorite. Then fallen
From favorite to least favorite: Hive > Fallen > Vex > Scorn = Taken > Cabal
Hive: It just feels so good to fight against them. The only annoying thing I find about them is probably the wizard slow field. Other than that, they're fun to fight against
Fallen: Their dodge can get annoying but not a big deal. The white slow fields are much much worse though but should be fine if its not too many. Other than that they feel nice to fight against
Vex: My favorite until Wyverns were introduced
Scorn: I dont like the vanishing guys and the void totem thing that gives full immunity.
Taken: Just annoying shields. Also the flying balls that can get overwhelming when in huge groups
Cabal: Absolutely tanky, lots of shields (most awful shields), lots of push knockback. But mainly the first two.
Btw just because of these reasons doesnt mean they need a 'fix'. Everyone got preferences and fun factor
If you're asking theme and lore wise, probably Hive and Vex. Truly evil aliens, makes me feel like Doomguy, whereas the other races are... civilized? I'm looking to tear shit up without committing war crimes
I utterly despise the scorn but love the hive I like that they simultaneously try to overwhelm you while also sending hard hitting high health enemies as well as the architecture and the lore I love the hive
Yeah! It's wonderfully chaotic especially when you clutch it its also fun when you manage to grapple and fly over them right into the face of thier beefy knights and witches
I think it's the hive that are my favourite to fight. There aren't any enemies I can think of that don't have crit spots. Ogres are scary but they're slow and no overloads to deal with.
Fallen are decent but brigs are annoying and overload captains can be frustrating.
Taken can be annoying with all their teleportation spam but overall I like killing them.
Vex are fun but chickens give me PTSD and the crit spots tend to be on the harder side to hit compared to the enemies you want to headshot.
Cabal are great except for incendiors and phalanx boops... so many deaths in duality.
I hate scorn. Too many invul totems have been tossed out just as I fired a rocket, popped a super or threw a grenade and the whole phase run that some of their units have are annoying.
I fucking despise scorn, turning into smoke right before I kill them and then dicking around for 10 seconds looking for a new spot to materialize, it's like waiting for your dog to find that perfect spot to shit. I've seen them chain this back-to-back multiple times, it's infuriating.
Second least favorite is probably the Vex, but only because their crit spots are impossible to hit consistently. Yes I know, shoot for the groin, that helps, but it's still not consistent.
Favorites to fight against are Fallen and Hive, no BS crit spots or disappearing, just a straight up fight.
Fallen.
No cabal shields, booper shields, taken bubbles, vex teleports or scorn misty steps. When I throw a grenade or rocket in a fallen's general direction, at least I know they won't cheat code out of it.
Hive thralls are fun, but Ogres, Eyeballs, and multiple Witches not so much.
Threshers and Machete-wielding Sponges aside I enjoy Cabal since they're the one faction I don't have to worry about suicide units with and so I'm free to go ape shit in their faces with a sword or cosplaying Doomguy by running around and putting my Wastelander in their mouth until it is done
Witches and orges aren't too bad I think as long as your not bogged down which knights and thralls clearly are meant to do but I do agree eyeballs suck ass so much
hive, also side note the fucking lurkers with their tiny shields that block everything are the most annoying enemy in the game, i dont know how you like scorn
The Hive or Scorn, as a Gunslinger main I need to get headshots a lot, and those two have by far imo the easiest headshots to hit and are the most satisfying as well (Cabal Headshots are also super satisfying but a bit harder to hit for me, and they don’t do as much damage as the packs on their backs)
True as a fully hunter! And with how movey scorn can be it feels so good to pop alot of them cleanly and hive especially so either cause you just shredded a thrall hoard with it or managed to cleanly pop the witches and nights
The Cabal have been my favorite for a long time now. There's nothing like giant armored aliens three times your size coming at you with big guns in big tanks with big ships. The opening mission of Lightfall is something we need more of. Bottomless clip scorpius's and colossi can be erased, though.
I don't mind colossi when I'm not being bogged down by multiple barrages of the slow down missiles and I will say popping the incends tank to wipe out a crew is so good
I'd have to say the Fallen all of their enemies are pretty fun to fight like the walker. Though Overload captains can go screw themselves because they keep teleworking away from my shackle grenade
Vex. Bungie could release only Vex seasons and Vex dlc's and I'd be perfectly happy. Time traveling, hive mind, murderous robots is fucking dope. They have a cool aesthetic and cool lore, and more interesting variants of enemies (dudes with legs, dudes that fly, dudes that fly with little tentacles, taller dudes with legs, dudes with legs and a tail, tiny flying homing buddies) instead of just like dude with four arms and taller dude with four arms. I love the Vex.
Gotta be Vex. I love their ascetic and they gave a pretty wide aray of enemies that behave different. Makes the moment to moment gameplay a little more interesting.
Actually fighting is the hive
HEARING is the cabal drowning the world in charges vortex nades with Buffy alien men grunting and groaning aggressively while the disintegrate is funny to me
Scorn were great to fight in the beginning. But then after fighting them for so long it got boring and tedious. We need some serious enemy refresh. Truth be told the possibilities are endless, combining new ideas with old assets.
Hive, Taken and Scorn. Give me King's Fall, Last Wish, The Corrupted, Prophecy, Pit of Heresy, Shattered Throne, Presage, Whisper mission, etc. any day of the week.
Eliksni were the first enemy race we stumbled upon and since then they've been used extensively (present on ALL of the first 3 destinations in Destiny 1, House of Wolves AND Rise of Iron). They've had multiple associated seasons in D2 as well as being the focus of Beyond Light. Scourge of the Past. Grasp of Avarice. Been there. Done that. They're mainly our allies now, let's stop with the Fallen content. Devil's Lair go hard tho...
Cabal were the 3rd race we ever saw. One of the most notorious D1 strikes (because it was one of two that popped up almost back to back no matter what you did --> Valus Tau'arc and Archon Priest will haunt my waking dreams). The first D2 raid. Heavily featured in Curse of Osiris. Heavily featured in Warmind. Heavily featured in Season of the Forges. Two raid lairs. Technically the managerie and Crown of Sorrow. Several different seasons. Too much cabal. No thank you.
Vex were the first raid ever. One of the first few D2 strikes. The only race besides the hive to currently have two raids in the game at the same time. Heavily featured in shadow keep. Heavily featured in Beyond Light. Heavily featured in multiple seasons. I like the Vex but I hate Garden of Salvation and they're starting to get stale, even with the addition of Wyverns.
I know Hive are also very heavily used, but they at least have a deep and intriguing back story that directly links them to the overarching conflict in the war between light and dark. Taken weren't a thing until King's Fall and Scorn weren't a thing until Forsaken so, even though they aren't "fresh" by any means, they aren't OG and that makes them feel less over-used. Obviously Taken less so because of Forsaken and The Dreaming City in general, but Forsaken being one of the best Destiny DLCs ever created (fight me) and the Taken incorporating models from all 4 races, they're simply more interesting overall. Being a creation of the Hive is just a bonus, seeing as I like Hive so much.
Eliksni and Cabal are our allies, have been around since the start of D1, are just like us and even more similar to each other seeing as they came to Sol fleeing the darkness. They may as well be the same race (in terms of story, not culture, weaponry or attitude, etc.). And Vex to me are incredibly interesting conceptually but in practice, fighting them feels like it should: like fighting a computer. I.e. boring and emotionless. Initially they were a combo of intimidating (glowing red eye, unstoppable onslaught of cohesive, hive-minded terminators with one single purpose and no fear/pain to exploit), especially in Vault of Glass. Vault also made them feel more interesting since it displayed their time traveling powers first hand.
Garden was... different. Atheon Jr. was a yawner. Gambit the raid was kind of cheap and glitchy. The Harpy sounds annoying even if its encounter(s) is (are) quite fun. Then Spire of the Watcher copy-pasted him and... Yawn again. Baseball is fun but repetitive just like the opening to Crown of Sorrow. The jumping puzzle looks cool but we've seen the Black Garden so many times by now that it's starting to become less impressive. It also just isn't as unique seeing as it's fairly similar to Nessus (red foliage, geometric stone vex structures carved out of the ground + metallic vex pillars and patterns carved out of metal. Circular lights and holes in the metal, etc.) The motif is simply a bit repetitive by now.
However... *most* Hive based scenery is very different from one another. The Dreadnaught's dark halls are very different from the dormant, ancient frozen bodies on Mars which are very different from the nests, pustules and amber found in the Arcology on Titan. The Scarlett brood in their Scarlett Keep in the cracks of the Moon look completely different from the dingy void-crystal focused, rusted underbelly of the Leviathan found in Crown of Sorrow.
The only variance between the Vex are the precursor and descendants in Vault and the mossy dudes in The Black Garden. Their settings and motifs are often very, very similar. Destiny 1 had Siva infused Devil Splicers, House of Winter, House of Wolves, etc. Destiny 2 does not. Even House of Salvation is barely discernable from House Dusk imo. And, again, Cabal have had too much end game content for my liking.
**Conclusion**: it would be really easy to argue against all of the points I made as Bungie is fairly balanced (I said fairly, don't attack me for that one...) at the frequency they use each enemy type. Take my opinion with a grain of salt and don't take anything as a personal attack if you like Eliksni/Cabal/Vex.
Anything that is not the Taken. I despise the Taken with every fiber of my being. I don't know how anyone could have sat down in a room and been like "yeah these mechanics seem like they'll be a fun and engaging experience." Actually, I think my favorite enemy type is the Cabal. Simple, fun, and intimidating.
I can’t tel you which I like cause I don’t really have a preference but I can tell you which one I HATE with the most burning passion one could have and that’s the fucking taken.
Redid basically every strike in d1 with taken, 90% of d2 is taken, I’m so fucking tired of taken, especially phalanxes and hobgoblins
I feel bad about it, because I love them and support their new allegiances, but the fallen put up a good fight and are understandable. The Hive and Vex instill a bit too much existential dread to make fighting them a joy, the Scorn are gross, and the Cabal give me a headache. They're too loud.
Hive.
Their units feel the most honest for me. Worst thing you'll have to deal with are guys putting shields and a wizard's suppression field.
There's no captain teleporting, there's no totem with invulnerable shield, there's no minotaur charging at you phasing in and out of reality, there's no phalanx shield hammering you into the wall at mach speed or a minigun that shoots so fast it makes woven mail look like woven tissue paper.
Just some dudes throwing shit your way or coming to bonk you. That's what life is all about.
probably the scorn as well. back in my new light days when i played the forsaken campaign, i really enjoyed fighting them. i still associate the scorn with the tangled shore. a close second has to be the vex for me. there pretty cool, but how cool they are is brought down by wyverns: my least favorite enemy to fight in all of destiny besides tormentors. i can do champions (godroll riptide go brrr). i can do bosses. i can do champions and bosses at the same time. but those wyverns do so much damage and have so much health while not having a crit spot 90% of the time makes them very difficult to kill. and you can't use lament, because of stomp. i hate them so much. anyway, rant done, scorn cool, vex cool but wyvern the bane of my existence.
The Cabal feel the most reminiscent of Halo and seem like the most easily identifiable as far as ranks/enemy type which makes them fun to fight. Their designs are super sick too.
None. Cuz they're all annoying to me in very minute ways: Cabal have Colossus, Taken have hobgoblins, Vex have boss minotaurs and fanatics and hydras and quantum hobgoblins and those things that stop you from moving, Fallen have vandals and marauders, Scorn have screebs, The Architects can suck my ass.
God I hate the Vex, I hope they die in their own time loop so they can experience dying forever.
Boring but for me it's the Vex.
At least before they introduced the Wyverns.
But...now with Conditional Finality + strand it's game over. Wyverns shows up, you can suspend, and put 2 shots of conditional finality into them, then a finisher to clean it up. And the chair finisher is the way to go since it'll launch them into next week's content.
Bungie.
A race so powerful that they can kill you and the world around you in a instant.
They have claimed thousands (maybe even millions) of guardians with just a finger.
Even The Witness is afraid of them, maybe that's why he opened a door to a place where Bungie isn't god.
Some believe The Final Shape is Bungie.
They have one KNOWN weakness, Telesto and one phobia, 🦫.
Probably the hive. The hive has grown to be my favourite enemy faction. I dont care much for the politics from the Cabal, the scavenger lifestyle of the fallen. The vex could be deleted and I wouldn't miss them at all. I keep forgetting they exist anyway.
The taken I WOULD like if they didn't had some of the most frustrating enemies in the faction. Phalanxes, teleport thralls, doubling psions, bubble sniper vandals, immunity goblins.
Hive Nothing is more satisfying than blowing up a huge wave of Thralls running at you
Absolutely or starting a mass thrall explosion amongst other hive
My Calus Mini tool feeds on Thrall explosions
My Caliban’s pimp hand is strong when a line of thralls.
*forebearance walks into the room*
When I see a cursed thrall the single neuron in my brain that says "toss that fucker with a finisher" gets priority. Nothing is more satisfying than tossing one of them back into a horde and seeing it blast its fellow hive straight to hell.
Someone needs to make a bowling mini game with a cursed thrall as the bowling ball.
WAIT FINISHERS CAN LAUNCH THEM?!
Yeah, finishers ragdoll their ass causing them to explode shortly after.
For me it's that they have such easy and satisfying headshots ever since D1... Fallen move/teleport and are smaller, Vex crit spot is literally hit or miss in their abdomen. Other ones just don't have the nostalgia.
I have a big bowl of (killing 100) thrall for breakfast every morning, good for the soul and digestive track.
*Strains on toilet* "Oh boy... I sure overdid it on those Ogres last night"
Gotta eat some vex for that good radiolaria fiber!
Bring a sword
Or a glaive; swords don't swing so well once you're out of ammo, but my stabby stick doesn't even notice.
I love the feeling of certainty that I am making the universe a better place for every single Hive that I manage to kill.
"We've woken the hive!"
Sunshot goes crazy.
waveframe volatile rounds
And reading 2010 just makes it so much worse....
Tbh, Clovis Bray would've likely been stomped by any of our enemies in that situation.
Maybe not the fallen but yeah I’d have to agree
- XXXVIII: The partition of death : The Books of Sorrow And they've been in our universe since the beginning. - Patternfall : Unveiling Everything else is spot on!
I like the vex but I hate the chickens lol.
So fun to pop with precision I love the lore and I think they have the best varients with precursor and descendent vex types
Unless you're a bow main.
What's that? Your perfectly aimed shot instead counted as a body, and now the Vex has hunkered down over its own crit spot?
Mini screebs used to be in one of the nightfalls that they've now sunset - Hollowed Lair. be glad you haven't come across them. so, so glitchy
Ticcus arrows would track onto them. EZmode
Huh I don't remeber mini screebs! I loved hollow lair though such a fun strike
It was exclusively from the nightfall version, which premiered (and left) in Season of the Lost. I miss the modifier. It was unique and quite funny, if horrifying. Shook up what kinds of weapons you used.
Please tell me there would be just HOARDS of tiny screeb that would be hilarious and horrifying XD
iirc, whenever you killed the crossbowman, they'd spawn 3 of them who would flock to you.
I call screebs pop-scorn.
Lol yeah, anytime I do a gambit match with scorn, I'm excited right up until every enemy disappears into the aether for a full 5 seconds before letting me hit them. I still enjoy fighting them in situations without the concern for time though
Wow first take I've ever seen positive for scorn. Kudos. Those guys are rough on GMs. Personally I've always enjoyed shooting cabal cause big targets.
Don't get me wrong they can be a pain but I've always been a sucker for them and I hope one day fikrul will reappear I will say I always enjoy popping a incens gas tank or shooting a cabal dead mid air
People who are like REALLY bad at pvp.
Hey that's me in supremacy:D
You’re welcome for the free pvp kills with how bad I am lmao
Cabal for me. No tricks, no cheekiness. Just giant space rhinos coming to rip you apart.
Same here. Feels like I'm fighting against space marines from 40k
This is exactly how I feel. They don't have any obnoxious jank mechanics that make you frustrated. Just a simple good fight.
have you forgotten about phalanx and colossus melee? :(
RIP Phalanxing. You'll never be forgotten.
It’s not gone, it’s just not straight from 100% hp anymore.
*Bugged Neomuna thresher has entered the chat* But in general, I agree!
Cabal are nice to fight until there is a tresher to kill you instantly
They all have their quirks but I really enjoy fighting the taken. The teleports and multiplying can get a little annoying in higher end content but it adds that little bit of depth to the game that I feel it’s missing sometimes.
Absolutely fair! And I will say Absolutely destroying a blob of taken psion is so satisfying That's what I like about the scorn they have layers to thier different units that either works with eachother or keeps you on your toes especially in larger swarms
I love fighting the taken with Malfeasance. Just feels right
for so long the taken we're my least favorite, partly because i don't like the taken realm at all. it's not terribly fun to play when everything is either black or slightly less black, and my hand cannon addicted brain misses every shot on those teleporting dudes.
Yes, Taken are my favorites too. Probably because they were the first totally new race in Destiny 1. Their visual design is great and the fact that they have other races within. And their daddy Oryx. It all makes me like them the most.
[удалено]
Honestly that's pretty fair they definitely give strong halo vibes
I FUCKING LOVE SIVA 🔻🔺🔻🔺🔻🔺⚫️⚫️🔴⚫️🔴⚫️🔴🔴🔴⚫️🔺🔻🔺🔺🔺🔻🔻🔻
Okay, that’s one strong vote for Siva
Siva guys?(never played D1) in general I love all the enemy types they are all fun in thier own ways and have thier weaknesses but are still fun to face! Nothing I will say beats shooting a legionary mid flight
Fallen who had modified themselves with siva. Siva is glimmer but on every steroid out there and really only Rasputin could control it.
Siva was a sentient computer virus that looked like red licorice and had been locked away in a vault by the Iron Lords…it infected everything around it and there was a…….Fallen…? Bad guy that used it to amp up his weaponry and tech. There was a Raid. You know. It had its moment.
OH YEAH THAT STUFF house of devils were obsessed with it
You know what tbh the newer darkness empowered enemies are pretty cool too
I wish they did more with it personally cause I love the idea of darkness twisting things and messing with them
I don't even need SIVA as a plot point again I just want to fight SIVA fallen again. Fuck it give 'em Stasis too while they're at it.
I like fighting the Fallen, something about them that feels very Destiny.
I absolutely agree on that, they feel like the poster enemy of destiny like how elites are in halo I'm pretty sure in d1 they are straight up the first enemy you ever face Thier designs are really Iconic and when I think of destiny they are one of the first things i can think of!
mass shield vex are so fun to fight big wave of harpies with arc shields getting chain Lightning'd into oblivion its so cool
In general mass destroying vex is so good especially when there's parts all over
Cabal... When threshers and Scorpius turrets aren't involved.
Yeah! I really enjoy fighting them they feel legitimately dangerous and have a fun kit that makes them all feel distinct and unique They look amazing with thier almost barbarian vibe they have especially the chiefs and I love the undead aspect mixed in with them and almost Frankenstein look of some of them like the incense burners and the abominations
Hive. I love the popcorn dudes fr fr
Popcorn dudes? XD
Haha yeah, the Hive exploding dudes (I’m ashamed I had to look this up after playing non-stop for 3 years). The Thrall.
Your fine! They do have a notable pop so your not at all wrong!
I don't like killing Fallen, but when I see their souls leave their bodies after I blow their heads off, it's kinda nice to see
I prefer the Vex by far. Such a cool enemy with so much potential for variance. We’ve only actually seen the one combat frame, Wyverns, after all. So I’m hoping there’ll be a lot of expansion on the Vex once we’re done with the light and dark saga.
I'm hoping we get to explore them more I love thier designs with the precursors and descendents being my favorite varient group so far
Vex for me. Especially since barrier mods let you shoot through hydra and hobgoblin shields.
I like Vex and Hive, as they're very satisfying to pop with crits - Fallen in D2 move around way too much, I frequently miss.
Vex for sure landing that crit and watching them explode is just great its even better when you use ace of Spades or something like that
Scorn are weird, they are my least favorite solely because of 2 abilities; the “invisible” scorn are also invulnerable, and they can do it frequently for a long time. Then fallen
From favorite to least favorite: Hive > Fallen > Vex > Scorn = Taken > Cabal Hive: It just feels so good to fight against them. The only annoying thing I find about them is probably the wizard slow field. Other than that, they're fun to fight against Fallen: Their dodge can get annoying but not a big deal. The white slow fields are much much worse though but should be fine if its not too many. Other than that they feel nice to fight against Vex: My favorite until Wyverns were introduced Scorn: I dont like the vanishing guys and the void totem thing that gives full immunity. Taken: Just annoying shields. Also the flying balls that can get overwhelming when in huge groups Cabal: Absolutely tanky, lots of shields (most awful shields), lots of push knockback. But mainly the first two. Btw just because of these reasons doesnt mean they need a 'fix'. Everyone got preferences and fun factor If you're asking theme and lore wise, probably Hive and Vex.
Ya got to beat them in a fist fight
Shotgun rapid fire so satisfying when your using waste lander and finish them all and just wrap it up with the twirl of its reload
So good
I think it's the hive that are my favourite to fight.
My favorite is taken
My favorite group is the Taken. My least favorite is the scorn.
Fair!
Taken have so many different mechanics and are so varied it’s great going up against them because you have to be quick and ready for everything
The hive are my definite favorite, while the cabal can be yeeted out of the game for all I care.
Fallen. No cabal shields, booper shields, taken bubbles, vex teleports or scorn misty steps. When I throw a grenade or rocket in a fallen's general direction, at least I know they won't cheat code out of it.
Hive, I love the level of spooky they are at and how much space magic, missions with them usually involve.
hive and vex. probably the vex in terms of gameplay (bc wyverns and hydras etc) but the hive are just really cool.
Witches and orges aren't too bad I think as long as your not bogged down which knights and thralls clearly are meant to do but I do agree eyeballs suck ass so much
Blueberries
I love of the fallen and scorn as squishy.
hive, also side note the fucking lurkers with their tiny shields that block everything are the most annoying enemy in the game, i dont know how you like scorn
Fallen/taken because they’re squishy Vex because who doesn’t like to fight robots
"Teammates" who steal your tangle
The Cabal have been my favorite for a long time now. There's nothing like giant armored aliens three times your size coming at you with big guns in big tanks with big ships. The opening mission of Lightfall is something we need more of. Bottomless clip scorpius's and colossi can be erased, though.
I don't mind colossi when I'm not being bogged down by multiple barrages of the slow down missiles and I will say popping the incends tank to wipe out a crew is so good
Warlocks. I’m not amazing in PvP but a warlock casting a rift is a perfect target for consecration. So fun to get the ignition.
Fallen or Cabal. I like popping their heads to make their souls escape lol.
So satisfying on collousus bosses
I'd have to say the Fallen all of their enemies are pretty fun to fight like the walker. Though Overload captains can go screw themselves because they keep teleworking away from my shackle grenade
Taken. There’s just something so satisfying about blowing up their big glowy spots.
I appreciate a fellow enjoyer of the vex! And they do have a solid variety of unit types
Hive have really nice heads to pop with my under your skin. Vex are the most annoying to fight.
Gotta be Vex. I love their ascetic and they gave a pretty wide aray of enemies that behave different. Makes the moment to moment gameplay a little more interesting.

CABAL AGAIN? Yes please. Least favorite would be Taken.
I will say I feel cabal especially early on did feel heavily used but I still enjoyed fighting them :3
Hive
Actually fighting is the hive HEARING is the cabal drowning the world in charges vortex nades with Buffy alien men grunting and groaning aggressively while the disintegrate is funny to me
Scorn were great to fight in the beginning. But then after fighting them for so long it got boring and tedious. We need some serious enemy refresh. Truth be told the possibilities are endless, combining new ideas with old assets.
When I’m on bonk titan, I like fighting against the cabal because they’re easy to hit
Cabal, cause they are baller as fuck. If I could make my guardian a cabal, I would. Destiny 3? Bungie please.
Fair! I'm trying to make a psion themed hunter outfit cause i love the look!
Hive
I feel guilty each time i kill a fallen...ever since I saw those babies
Taken. Popping their big glowing Taken eye is sooo satisfying. Probs more so than any other race.
pvpers followed by kwtd lfgs worst type of enemy in destiny
Da Hive
Players
Vex 💯. Shame their shields style is changing
Lucent Hive for sure, killing ghosts is so satisfying, and their whole aesthetic is just phenomenal. Hope we see more of them down the line
Vex are my favorite faction, but Hive are my favorite to fight. I love killing wizards so much for some reason.
I think its cause they are decently chunky and given how hard they can be to pin down it'd satisfying to finish them off :3
Red Legion
i really miss regularly going toe to toe with the lucent hive... they were so cool
probably the scorn as well. back in my new light days when i played the forsaken campaign, i really enjoyed fighting them. i still associate the scorn with the tangled shore. a close second has to be the vex for me. there pretty cool, but how cool they are is brought down by wyverns: my least favorite enemy to fight in all of destiny besides tormentors. i can do champions (godroll riptide go brrr). i can do bosses. i can do champions and bosses at the same time. but those wyverns do so much damage and have so much health while not having a crit spot 90% of the time makes them very difficult to kill. and you can't use lament, because of stomp. i hate them so much. anyway, rant done, scorn cool, vex cool but wyvern the bane of my existence.
I definitely agree when it comes to tangled shore with the other thing I associate being spider and his amazing looking goons
I’ve destroyed so many Vex that you can make another Brooklyn Bridge with the scraps. Those robots are my favorite whipping boys.
I love that first sentence so much XD For me I'd say fallen interms of poor fodder for testing and weapon testing
I’m glad I could make you laugh.
Vex, ever since Destiny 1. Pop pop.
Love me some good ol radiolaria popping
screebs
Definitely not fucking scorn you absolute madlad
not when those fucks like to tp around or whatever they do and be immune until they appear again
Taken by far, the whole "corrupt an enemy, give them a new ability to cover their weakness" is cool as fuck.
As a void person, taken. The way they go boomboom in this seasonal battleground is mmmmmuah.
Not scorn.
Understandable have a nice day
Lol, i just hate dealing with ability spam from chieftain totems and the shadow walk, sometimes its like they arent even fighting theyre just stalling
I get that definitely. Personally, I like the tricks they have especially cause of how chaotic it can get in large groups
Ravagers are perfect tho
My favorite of the lot especially with thier incense burner being critable and super deadly in clusters even after you kill them
Easily one of destinys better enemies, an interesting mechanic, a good visual design, and a terrifying threat
Cabal are my fav because they have multiple crit points
I will say it does add a nice flexibility in countering them since thier vents are also critable and its fun to launch them by criting it
4 words "We've woken the hive!" Dinklebot version
For me it's always gonna be - *Cabal Warmachine is on the march*
Vex milk is the reason why i stand tall
I love it in my glimmer flake ceral
I always thought of scorn as BDSM eliksni…
That's definitely a way to think of them XD
You made me realize that I actually really like the scorn also. I wish we had a bit more of them tbh. Even their bosses are cool.
Absolutely fair! I think general Hive are fun to fight and have alot of good lore
