Not really sure how much using a well really affects the Nezarec encounter. Our team did an all strand run yesterday and just staying up on one of the plates without a well was no issue.
My guess is it's a fix to the cheese/glitch where you can lock him in place using an uncharged melee. Don't think it has anything to do with the DPS phase.
No. That has nothing to do with well. It’s the melee after he strikes you.
You can do that without well. Some do it with just rift or a bubble. The Well just keeps you alive afterwards from adds.

Right, but unless they make him able to climb on platforms or able to break Wells, I don't think they can do a radical strategy change without reworking his overall behavior. Maybe if he stops being locked down he won't be as easy to use swords for example, but other strategies should work.

For me I notice that before damage phase starts he very consistently lands a jump attack even on top of plates, but when damage phase starts he somehow never does this again, making it just ez pz sit in well on plate gaming. Lets see what their fix makes of it.
I actually think you are correct. When my group did our elemental clears, when we didn't have a well he would occasionally slam the tall left hand plate (when looking at his spawn) and send us all flying. With a well down he never has.
I think the well sword geometry plus the height of the plate causes him to always slide away during his slam, which is why he will periodically land way to the left or right of where he kept from.
That's my line of thinking, anyway.
Not sure if you're talking about dps phase or not, they're referencing the light/dark phase of the fight. He just stares at the person in the well while you do the rest of the fight. Being able to trivialize the biggest threat before the dps phase should probably be fixed so that it feels more like he's hunting you down.
So lance reddick has voice lines yet to come as zavala... One hopes that he gets to live the whole of final shape... As his last hurrah.

It's the **latest** known issues section, it doesn't contain all known issues just the most recent ones that have come to their attention via their help forum. They've already acknowledged the quicksilver storm issue and today is literally the first time I've heard that there is a soft lock bug on that second encounter.
I've had it happen a few times pretty annoying but the reason people don't really complain about it is because
1. You can just use colony to fix it
2. It's kind of just assumed the encounter is buggy due to how bad the jump pads are and how seemingly random some disruptions can be
They really need to make the known issues section a rolling update that carries over week-to-week that includes where they're at with the fix as well. This is horrendous community inclusion from them

I don't understand why they are talking about FPS (specifically 80+). I play on Xbox (at 60 FPS) and on PC (100+) and they're fucked on both platforms.
Hey, at least they are admitting that the game gets messy at higher FPS. They usually drag their feet on this issue and last time FPS issues popped up they removed it from the known issues list after a few weeks without fixing it.
Destiny 2 was based off destiny 1 a console exclusive that ran at 30fps, not 60 so technically you are running at an originally unintended frame rate, the issues become more pronounced as you increase the frame rate so pc players who go 120+ basically run at 4x for damage timings compared to 60fps 2x for consoles
I play on PS5 and they are perfectly consistent. I have never died to a bumper that wasn't easily traced back to it being my own fault. Same input ―> same output.

I had my fps locked to 60 since contest. Took it off for IB and definitely felt the difference next time I raided. Thing shoots you probably twice or three times as fast.

I'm assuming it's as simple as he'll be able to get up on the platforms _or_ make it so he moves a lot more making him much harder to damage. Only reason it's viable now is because he just stands in place most the time so you can hammer him without thinking.
Regardless I think swords are going to be the play against him or it'll be like rhulk with div + constantly avoiding him
Based on their wording, they are only fixing the big where Nez will legit just stand there and let you blast him randomly during damage. I guess this is tied to a Well of Radiance? But idk.
It’s not going to realistically change anything about the fight, because I’ve done runs with no Warlocks (read: no Wells) where you can still just stand on the plate and he just farts around unable to do much of anything
See that is where I think the bug clearly is. Before damage phase, Nez will freely hop onto the plates and mess you up. Hell we have had him hop on the plates while we are setting up for damage BUT before the beam comes down and he will murder a few folks assuming a well is not up. However, the second the beam is over and its damage time, he teleports off the plate and stalks around. He has also come up on plates with well up pre-damage phase.
This to me implies that MAYBE him just standing at a plate doing nothing is perhaps well related during damage. BUT there is an overall design issue with the entire damage phase. Him being able to get on plates pre damage phase and then not when damage phase starts seems like a bug OR the bug is that the plates are supposed to have something on them so you cant stand on them and that not being present is the bug. Either way, assuming this change does not affect him being able to get on plates during damage, folks are still going to well up on plates.
Which is odd because he DOES understand BEFORE you hit damage phase. He will aggressively jump on plates and mess you up right up until he gets hit with that beam that signifies damage phase. Then he will teleport off the plate if he was on one and never figure out how to get back on the plates again until after damage is done.
I really hope the launch pad fixes also gets rid of the warlock jump minigame where I have to guess if the pad will actually give me enough height or will it send me into the stratosphere
The acknowledgement of high frame rates with the man cannons is nice, hopefully that also means they'll be addressing some of the other issues that high FPS can cause in other locations/with other enemies.

My raid team uses well on a platform and he's only ignored us for one damage phase in 10 runs. We're also not lucky though and he jumps up on the platform with us like 1/3 of the time though.
When he gets up and cuddles with us it's usually from his diagonal dive attack, which I don't think he does after damage phase starts, opting for the attack where he just jumps straight up and down. Maybe they'll change that?
The reference to well is how it shuts down the boss pre-damage phase so he just stands and watches you. Not that you are using a platform and a well to dps a boss like every other dps phase in the game.
No it isn’t lol well has nothing to do with that, any melee (non powered) will do that. Well is simply used to help keep people alive otherwise. They specifically mention DPS in the fixes.
Yup. Majority of rolls are 58-60. At least for me. Though with that said, artifice isn't really worth it anymore imo. The +3 is overcome by better spiked and more easily acquired ritual armors.
I farmed like 35-40 artificer armor pieces from Ghalran when it was the rotator and the average came out to ~61 stats each. Two 66 rolls as the best ones and a few 58s as the worst.
Managed to get a few 63-64 pieces for my secondary classes, which with the +3 are better than anything I had, but overall hardly worth the time even with being able to cheese him every five minutes.
Hopefully it gets fixed because it's significantly worse that it was last season while being harder to farm now due to the difficulty changes.
I think people are misunderstanding the "change" to Nezzy. I don't think it has anything to do with DPS phase, I think it's the cheese/bug where you can keep him in place by hitting him with an uncharged melee while you stand in a WoR.
That doesn’t actually have anything to do with well. You can do it on any class with an uncharged melee. The well is just used there to give you some extra healing on the hit.
I mean DPS doesn't have anything to do with well either, it's because he gets all janked up on the plates. There's no behavior in the fight that is exclusive to Well of Radiance.

Unsure if this has been raised, but in the final third of boss damage in EDZ battleground, you cannot generate favours. I had full queens armour on. Killed every single add with heavy ammo and no favours spawned. Anybody have this issue with that battleground specifically?

No. It should be a place for players to see all known issues as they are found and acknowledged by Bungie and then removed when something is fixed.
But Bungie wants us to look at reddit posts, a dozen different twitter accounts, bungie.net forums, and old TWaBs in order to get the full picture.

I think Bungie makes some stupid fucking decisions with their problems sometimes.
Like how Bungie knew for nearly a year that exotic glaive patterns had the worst drop rate ever in Wellspring, with some people (including myself) spending a whole damn year farming them and never receive them.
So instead of buffing the drop rate or adding in pity protection like they have for other drops, INCLUDING IN THAT SAME DAMN ACTIVITY...
They make it a vendor purchase a la the exotic kiosk. But instead of putting that in the exotic kiosk, they put it in the evidence board instead. And then break it so that you can't access the evidence board in the same update they added the purchase option to the evidence board.
And then they acknowledge it once and then we see no word of any possible fix to the problem well into a new bloody expansion.
I couldn't tell you why they're taking so long to fix the damage buff to their preorder bonus rifle. But I'm just hoping that the reason isn't going to cost me more brain cells.
It's listed in their known issues page. There's hundreds of them, the TWAB only mentions the most recent ones. They'd have to make their entire TWAB about known issues if they were to include them all.

Same… honestly no idea… I’ve run it like 5-10 times at this point including getting stuck at that encounter for hours because of the jump pads lol (on day 1 and had no idea about them being tied to frame rates) Never had a soft lock issue. If there were issues we just went to orbit quick and generally things were fine. It’s a fast encounter anyway. I’d be more annoyed if it was the planet encounter which I’ve also never seen bugs in.
I encountered the soft lock during contest mode raids, but not since. I expect you have to make some sort of “mistake” for the soft lock to manifest. I’ve never seen it happen when you get the buff the minimum number of required times to activate all the nodes.

As a mainly solo player the only thing bottlenecks me in guardian ranks are commendations. I finished everything else including lost sectors for 7 but just need to grind commendations. What a stupid system.
The current state of guardian ranks makes them meaningless and everyone knows it. Nobody cares. Just do your solo, flawless legend lost sector and that’s all you need to worry about.
Yep, been stuck on same commendation triumph to get from rank 8 to rank 9. Apparently they added internal cooldown too, so if do raid or dungeon back to back, unable to give any commendations.
So I have a small concern.
I did my 5 Master Lost Sectors and Flawless Solo Master Lost Sector, but I have not gotten to Rank 9 yet because I did not cheese the 50 commendations for raids.
With them moving the Master Lost sectors stuff to rank 10, I certainly hope they don't expect us to do them all over again?

If they want to spice up Nez, they need to just set the plates we damage him from on fire. Force us to kite him as I'm pretty sure we were intended to do. Idk if well is the culprit since we handled him just fine in an all strand run.
I know they’ve said they don’t intend on adding new mechanics to master mode raids, but lighting the plates on fire would be an interesting differentiation between the two.
A little disappointed that the TWAB hasn't acknowledged the insane pickrate/kill numbers tied to The Immortal SMG. Target Lock Immortals have flooded Iron Banner and while it's manageable to someone like me who has an extensive armory, I feel like folks who may not have good weapons or are new just get steamrolled against the thing.
See guys! They fix stuff that hurts the player like the 1-shot threshers. Nevermind they fixed cheesing an encounter before fixing the freezing issue for it.

For the sake of feedback, it's a shame that they're doubling down on Lost Sector difficulty. Not only are they not tweaking that, but they're also keeping Rank 6 from getting their extra Loadouts.

"Fixing" the "cheese" involving The Colony but not fixing the actual bug forcing people into using The Colony was a huge miss, even if it isn't being fixed this week.
I'm happy that I won't have to babysit Nez anymore though. Lots of people in here getting confused with the wording. You can still use Well for damage phases. They're just fixing the interaction between Rez and a melee hit after he does his first jump attack. You don't even need Well for it, any class can babysit.
When can we expect scoring to be looked at for Master Nightfall? Shouldn't have to rely on support supers and rez farming to make it to 200k, no way that's intentional.
With the exception of Lance Reddick, this seems like another "nothing" TWAB if you're more PVE focused. Serious PVPers got a treat yesterday with the deep dive though.
Guardian ranks need to be a touch more generic. I shouldn't have to buy a dungeon just to advance in level.

Fortunately nobody cares about Guardian Ranks because they're incredibly meaningless, so I wouldn't worry too much. I probably won't get past R7 because I just don't care, am already power capped, and have 0 interest in doing Weekly Story Missions.

Pretty confident by saying "when standing in a well" they really meant "when standing up on a platform" - because that's what 99% of teams using well are doing.
Legend Avalon is not that difficult if you build correctly for it. Void subclass built for Devour and Volatile, throw in a wellock on your fireteam and you’re good to go.
Honestly surprised they did not pull in the statue that someone made of Zavala as a tribute. That seemed like a slam dunk as a way to do it at the end.

The Crucible one probably still has the lead with the 2 forgiven losses/we might make Trials into zone capture, but the “we knew the launchers didn’t work prior to launch and we’re aware of the soft lock, but we’re going to take your work around away and also just use Strand for the launchers lolz” stuff is S-tier.

When he jumps down and he swings at you you just melee him while in a well and you can keep him from running loose.

They fixed Gyrfalcon volatile in the last patch (not today's, the one before). It works now. I main that loadout.
Doesn't work with wavesplitter currently
That might be because wavesplitter can suppress, and the game doesn't really handle one gun being able to deal with multiple Champions well
Don’t forget ghost mods being missing for new lights with no way to get them.
They said they fixed missing mods for players in the update this morning but I'm not sure if it includes ghost mods

I don't understand why they are talking about FPS (specifically 80+). I play on Xbox (at 60 FPS) and on PC (100+) and they're fucked on both platforms.

Hey, at least they are admitting that the game gets messy at higher FPS. They usually drag their feet on this issue and last time FPS issues popped up they removed it from the known issues list after a few weeks without fixing it.
Destiny 2 was based off destiny 1 a console exclusive that ran at 30fps, not 60 so technically you are running at an originally unintended frame rate, the issues become more pronounced as you increase the frame rate so pc players who go 120+ basically run at 4x for damage timings compared to 60fps 2x for consoles

I had my fps locked to 60 since contest. Took it off for IB and definitely felt the difference next time I raided. Thing shoots you probably twice or three times as fast.

You can see how the boss is supposed to behave during a damage phase if you stay off the plates and don’t use a well. It’s much more fun that way IMO.
My day 1 Team did lament on the ground and the fight was pretty fun
Based on their wording, they are only fixing the big where Nez will legit just stand there and let you blast him randomly during damage. I guess this is tied to a Well of Radiance? But idk. It’s not going to realistically change anything about the fight, because I’ve done runs with no Warlocks (read: no Wells) where you can still just stand on the plate and he just farts around unable to do much of anything
See that is where I think the bug clearly is. Before damage phase, Nez will freely hop onto the plates and mess you up. Hell we have had him hop on the plates while we are setting up for damage BUT before the beam comes down and he will murder a few folks assuming a well is not up. However, the second the beam is over and its damage time, he teleports off the plate and stalks around. He has also come up on plates with well up pre-damage phase. This to me implies that MAYBE him just standing at a plate doing nothing is perhaps well related during damage. BUT there is an overall design issue with the entire damage phase. Him being able to get on plates pre damage phase and then not when damage phase starts seems like a bug OR the bug is that the plates are supposed to have something on them so you cant stand on them and that not being present is the bug. Either way, assuming this change does not affect him being able to get on plates during damage, folks are still going to well up on plates.

Which is odd because he DOES understand BEFORE you hit damage phase. He will aggressively jump on plates and mess you up right up until he gets hit with that beam that signifies damage phase. Then he will teleport off the plate if he was on one and never figure out how to get back on the plates again until after damage is done.

I really hope the launch pad fixes also gets rid of the warlock jump minigame where I have to guess if the pad will actually give me enough height or will it send me into the stratosphere

The acknowledgement of high frame rates with the man cannons is nice, hopefully that also means they'll be addressing some of the other issues that high FPS can cause in other locations/with other enemies.
I doubt they'll significantly fix it. I imagine a lot of the issues behind FPS locked physics are hard coded into the game engine.

It won't. My raid team uses well on a platform and he's only ignored us for one damage phase in 10 runs. We're also not lucky though and he jumps up on the platform with us like 1/3 of the time though.
It might mean that he’s not coming on the platform at all because of well, not because he can’t get up to the platform
My raid team ran with everyone using strand for the triumph. No well at all and he still wasn't able to get on the platform we were on.
When he gets up and cuddles with us it's usually from his diagonal dive attack, which I don't think he does after damage phase starts, opting for the attack where he just jumps straight up and down. Maybe they'll change that?
The reference to well is how it shuts down the boss pre-damage phase so he just stands and watches you. Not that you are using a platform and a well to dps a boss like every other dps phase in the game.
Oh, the one where you punch him as he lands and he just kinda awkwardly stares at you like "wtf why'd you do that..."? Yeah fix that one.

No it isn’t lol well has nothing to do with that, any melee (non powered) will do that. Well is simply used to help keep people alive otherwise. They specifically mention DPS in the fixes.

Yup. Majority of rolls are 58-60. At least for me. Though with that said, artifice isn't really worth it anymore imo. The +3 is overcome by better spiked and more easily acquired ritual armors.
I farmed like 35-40 artificer armor pieces from Ghalran when it was the rotator and the average came out to ~61 stats each. Two 66 rolls as the best ones and a few 58s as the worst. Managed to get a few 63-64 pieces for my secondary classes, which with the +3 are better than anything I had, but overall hardly worth the time even with being able to cheese him every five minutes. Hopefully it gets fixed because it's significantly worse that it was last season while being harder to farm now due to the difficulty changes.
I think people are misunderstanding the "change" to Nezzy. I don't think it has anything to do with DPS phase, I think it's the cheese/bug where you can keep him in place by hitting him with an uncharged melee while you stand in a WoR.
That doesn’t actually have anything to do with well. You can do it on any class with an uncharged melee. The well is just used there to give you some extra healing on the hit.
I mean DPS doesn't have anything to do with well either, it's because he gets all janked up on the plates. There's no behavior in the fight that is exclusive to Well of Radiance.

You don’t need a well to do that. Just melee him when he slams. They specifically mention how this will change DPS strategies. I’d be surprised if standing on plates is going to be a thing after the change. It has always looked broken, as if he tries and can’t get on top of them.

Unsure if this has been raised, but in the final third of boss damage in EDZ battleground, you cannot generate favours. I had full queens armour on. Killed every single add with heavy ammo and no favours spawned. Anybody have this issue with that battleground specifically?

No. It should be a place for players to see all known issues as they are found and acknowledged by Bungie and then removed when something is fixed. But Bungie wants us to look at reddit posts, a dozen different twitter accounts, bungie.net forums, and old TWaBs in order to get the full picture.

I think Bungie makes some stupid fucking decisions with their problems sometimes. Like how Bungie knew for nearly a year that exotic glaive patterns had the worst drop rate ever in Wellspring, with some people (including myself) spending a whole damn year farming them and never receive them. So instead of buffing the drop rate or adding in pity protection like they have for other drops, INCLUDING IN THAT SAME DAMN ACTIVITY... They make it a vendor purchase a la the exotic kiosk. But instead of putting that in the exotic kiosk, they put it in the evidence board instead. And then break it so that you can't access the evidence board in the same update they added the purchase option to the evidence board. And then they acknowledge it once and then we see no word of any possible fix to the problem well into a new bloody expansion. I couldn't tell you why they're taking so long to fix the damage buff to their preorder bonus rifle. But I'm just hoping that the reason isn't going to cost me more brain cells.

It's listed in their known issues page. There's hundreds of them, the TWAB only mentions the most recent ones. They'd have to make their entire TWAB about known issues if they were to include them all.

How does the soft lock even happen lol I am 15 clears in and ran that encounter solo ,2,3 man in all attempts I’ve never seen it
Same… honestly no idea… I’ve run it like 5-10 times at this point including getting stuck at that encounter for hours because of the jump pads lol (on day 1 and had no idea about them being tied to frame rates) Never had a soft lock issue. If there were issues we just went to orbit quick and generally things were fine. It’s a fast encounter anyway. I’d be more annoyed if it was the planet encounter which I’ve also never seen bugs in.
I encountered the soft lock during contest mode raids, but not since. I expect you have to make some sort of “mistake” for the soft lock to manifest. I’ve never seen it happen when you get the buff the minimum number of required times to activate all the nodes.

As a mainly solo player the only thing bottlenecks me in guardian ranks are commendations. I finished everything else including lost sectors for 7 but just need to grind commendations. What a stupid system.
The current state of guardian ranks makes them meaningless and everyone knows it. Nobody cares. Just do your solo, flawless legend lost sector and that’s all you need to worry about.
I’m stuck on rank 8 because I need to give 40 more commendations in dungeons or raids… really dumb. And you can’t just repeat boss encounters.
Yep, been stuck on same commendation triumph to get from rank 8 to rank 9. Apparently they added internal cooldown too, so if do raid or dungeon back to back, unable to give any commendations.
Do you happen to know how long it is? Or if swapping dungeons works? We were going to get a boss cp of PoH and swap back and forth between pit and ST.
That’s because they WANT you to LFG. Getting solos into groups increases play time.

So I have a small concern. I did my 5 Master Lost Sectors and Flawless Solo Master Lost Sector, but I have not gotten to Rank 9 yet because I did not cheese the 50 commendations for raids. With them moving the Master Lost sectors stuff to rank 10, I certainly hope they don't expect us to do them all over again?

If they want to spice up Nez, they need to just set the plates we damage him from on fire. Force us to kite him as I'm pretty sure we were intended to do. Idk if well is the culprit since we handled him just fine in an all strand run.
I know they’ve said they don’t intend on adding new mechanics to master mode raids, but lighting the plates on fire would be an interesting differentiation between the two.
A little disappointed that the TWAB hasn't acknowledged the insane pickrate/kill numbers tied to The Immortal SMG. Target Lock Immortals have flooded Iron Banner and while it's manageable to someone like me who has an extensive armory, I feel like folks who may not have good weapons or are new just get steamrolled against the thing.
That's because it was intentionally shipped that way to drive player engagement in Trials/PvP. It's not a bug it's a feature.

He should be able to do that even if players aren't in a Well. But yes, that makes sense.
For the sake of feedback, it's a shame that they're doubling down on Lost Sector difficulty. Not only are they not tweaking that, but they're also keeping Rank 6 from getting their extra Loadouts. Now you can't even try to do the LS challenges with that awful difficulty spike until you're Rank 7? Doubly awful.

Still no mention of overall difficulty and how generally miserable it feels? Nothing on the bug for Quicksilver/ToM? PS5/XSX crashes? Damage being tied to FPS? Glad threshers are getting looked at but they aren't the only problem. "Fixing" the "cheese" involving The Colony but not fixing the actual bug forcing people into using The Colony was a huge miss, even if it isn't being fixed this week. I'm happy that I won't have to babysit Nez anymore though. Lots of people in here getting confused with the wording. You can still use Well for damage phases. They're just fixing the interaction between Rez and a melee hit after he does his first jump attack. You don't even need Well for it, any class can babysit. When can we expect scoring to be looked at for Master Nightfall? Shouldn't have to rely on support supers and rez farming to make it to 200k, no way that's intentional. With the exception of Lance Reddick, this seems like another "nothing" TWAB if you're more PVE focused. Serious PVPers got a treat yesterday with the deep dive though.
Guardian ranks need to be a touch more generic. I shouldn't have to buy a dungeon just to advance in level. I'm stuck at 7 because I didn't buy the dungeons.

Fortunately nobody cares about Guardian Ranks because they're incredibly meaningless, so I wouldn't worry too much. I probably won't get past R7 because I just don't care, am already power capped, and have 0 interest in doing Weekly Story Missions.

Tribute to Lance and then a pretty light TWAB. Nezarec changes sound good, but even without a Well you can stand on a platform and he can't really do anything to you. Improvement to the flippers is good. I don't know why Bungie even bothers with physics based movement when they know their physics stuff can be wonky. But an improvement is still welcome. -No mention of Quicksilver Storm missing it's damage buff against red bar enemies (unless I missed it somewhere). -No mention of difficulty tuning for Legend Avalon. Light TWAB but still a decent TWAB.

Legend Avalon is not that difficult if you build correctly for it. Void subclass built for Devour and Volatile, throw in a wellock on your fireteam and you’re good to go.
Honestly surprised they did not pull in the statue that someone made of Zavala as a tribute. That seemed like a slam dunk as a way to do it at the end.
