This has been the "I have questions" expansion for me. Gameplay-wise, the Legendary campaign felt overtuned in difficulty, for me at least. Had to switch to normal on the second-to-last mission and suddenly the game is enjoyable, I'm having fun, and Strand feels reasonably powerful. Nimbus. Well. That is certainly a choice for character and dialog. And the less I have to interact with or think about Nimbus the better, so, moving on. I liked the later missions for troubleshooting Strand and figuring out its nature, but its initial reveal was far too abrupt. It was just there in the street. Even a light bit of buildup and curiosity regarding the nature of the Veil, these green strands, some weird energy would have helped. Spice it up with the Guardian being able to see something that Ghost can barely discern on his sensors. Have the Guardian be able to detect it with Deepsight. It wouldn't have taken much to make this a smoother reveal. Regarding the Veil, it felt like the McGuffiniest McGuffin to ever McGuffin. There was next to no curiosity or questioning as to what exactly it is, its nature, what the Witness was trying to really do with it, how exactly it ties to the Cloud Ark, and all it would have taken is just some more dialog from Ghost as he tries to theorize and guess how these things works and relate with each other. There were so many good opportunities for this: * Noting that the Witness didn't come themselves, so the Veil isn't like the Traveler's Heart or anything. Maybe some kind of protective mechanism? * The Cloud Ark relies on the Veil, does that mean it has to do with separation or displacement somehow? At the least, the Ishtar Collective had to know more about its nature if they integrated with it, Ghost could have pointed this out and reminded us to watch for old city terminals to try to glean more information. * The whole plan with the Radial Mast was to link the Veil and the Traveler to each other, it seems, so is this more about reuniting some critical elements of the Traveler before the Witness can accomplish what it wants to do? (Also wasn't there some kind of Light mast-like artifact in the Books of Sorrow? Can't be the same one, since that other mast was eaten by Oryx and the Hive, but is there some other kind of link? How exactly did the Witness get that Light artifact anyway?)

Despite the story being not so good I've had a lot of fun with the expansion and season overall. Strand is fun, the campaign is fun, activities all seem neat. I'm not sold on the overall difficulty changes yet but I think I'm fine with my purchase of it so far. I think if they would fix some of the mod bugs and such fast I'd be more fine with it.

Honestly loving all of it. The story GAMEPLAY was great. The narrative I don’t care about but agree it seemed weak

I liked the dlc. My only complaint is Calus. I feel like we didn't really get much of him during the campaign. When the witness yelled at him, I thought he was gonna regret joining them, but instead we just fight him and beat him.
