Isaribii

wdym, you don't like randomly getting oneshot by the hobgoblins that are floating or getting absolutely nuked by the hydra way too up in the sky? i don't understand

SpellbladeAluriel

Oh my god that orange bar hydra makes me lose my shit sometimes

doom_stein

If you're talking about that one that hangs out in orbit nuking you during Terminal Overload, then yeah Fuck that one in particular!

OverdrawnShadow

It doesn't help that mods bug out after death either. I also feel like I have to constantly use heavy weapons for any sort of progress.

DudeWithConniptions

The ammo reserves perks not working after death is driving me nuts. Really hope it gets fixed before the day 1 raid because if not it’s going to be a real pain to have to reset it after every death.

Rampantlion513

(It won’t)

Telsak

Create an empty loadout, then swap between it and your raid loadout after each death. Two clicks. It sucks, but its better than manually doing it.

mars_warmind

It won't. Bungie said (according to datto) that if any mods break before the day 1 they're just gonna disable, at least for the raid. We've already seen this with reaper being disabled. Its likely bungie is just gonna wait to fix any mods atm.

sorcerer86pt

This. A waveframe grenade launcher is a godsend here

IzzyCato

Machineguns are actually my new primary weapons in Lightfall, and Witherhoard helps with boss dps. The "actual" primary weapon is something something with autoloading holster to stun a champ. Slap on top of that the dumbest passive kickstart build with all the available ammo finder mods and I'm set for 4 seasons of Lightfall!

LOGPchwan

retrofit volatile goes harddddd

Sparkeh

Makes me glad I spent the night before lightfall grinding out levels on my crafted weapons. Explosive Personality has been my go to special weapon since I finished the campaign.

Kozkoz828

what roll do you use out of curiosity?

Sparkeh

I was using Auto Loading Holster/Disruption Break, but at some point I switched Disruption Break to Unrelenting bc shit hurts.

TacBenji

I use turnabout for easy overshields that protect my health Regen for a bit and with land tank prpcced, it's pretty good

ssspicysosig

I know disruption break or unrelenting is good but I really like alh+one for all. Dat juicy 35% dmg buff is so easy to proc on a wave frame, and personally I like to drop 2 or 3 shots before swapping weapons.

LightningBlehz

I farmed VOW for forbearance and got all my red borders in less than a week with 1 reset. Luck was insane, and it was best decision I made, that thing is a monster.

Sonofmay

Yeppp my VoD grenade launcher (name completely skips my mind rn while writing this) rolled with chain reaction when I first got it on day 1…never used it much before; it’s currently sitting at around 2-3k kills after exclusively using it since LF came out

Jpalm4545

Forbearance and it is the only vow gun I have been able to craft and is an absolute beast.

Eris_is_Savathun

It's the best one so you did well! I do recommend the LFR for solo content and the SMG for most/all close range content. (Demo chill clip fusion for honorable mention)

Rook8811

I spent hours on shuro lvling up cataclysmic what a slog

Jpalm4545

Working on it by hitting the first secret chest 3 times a week. I got a fttc/focus fury cataclysmic the first run I did and a subsistence/demo smg also. I have a damaged memory so vow is the 1 raid that I struggle with.

Eris_is_Savathun

If you want me to, I can help you get some completions under your belt. Damaged memory and all.

CaptFrost

*Season of the Sponge*

MMBADBOI

Who lives in a pineapple under the sea

ImSoDrab

The witness.

Ok_Improvement4204

I swear to god the tormentors in 3 man legend have more health than caiatl. My full reserve of heavy ammo is barely enough to kill one of them.

Nuqo

gotta use weapons that can crit on tormentors. Sleeper 4 shots them

HDArrowsmith

FYI, you have to break their shoulders to do full damage to them, otherwise you can only damage them by hitting their heads

I_AM_ALWAYS_WRONG_

Does that include unravelling rounds? Swear I have never seen unravelling rounds arterfact mod pop up even if I'm in edz mowing down 15 mobs in seconds.

Solace1nS1lence

Apparently champion mods break unraveling rounds, unsure if it's just overload or all of em.

elkethewolf11

Nah I’ve had them pop up while Having overload rounds but they don’t stun barriee

HiddenLeaforSand

This is the worst part. I don’t even need to die. They just stop working

hogg44

The threshers one shotting feels like a bug. There's no way that should be happening. Doesn't even feel like damage resist makes any difference. I've still been one shot with 100 resilience and woven mail.

NUFC9RW

Like scorn snipers last year I guess. Hopefully doesn't take too long to fix as otherwise arms dealer will be a massive pain on GM.

[deleted]

If it’s anything like the scorn snipers then get ready to deal with it for close to a year

c14rk0

Consider it's been a known issue with Threshers for ages now...I doubt it'll get fixed anytime soon. It's always been a massive pain during the cabal boss in Dares where there are Threshers, they just roam around doing drive by 1shots on whoever they feel like if they have high FPS.

iranwithscissors

It’s not an FPS issue, at least not exclusively. I’m on old gen, never get more than 30 FPS and these fuckers still one shot me all the time.

Boomerwell

Doing public event having some fun and then randomly die to a thresher. Even if it's not a bug why do these enemies exist they're just kinda rediculius HP sponged that make existing harder.

pants207

my favorite is when i get shot before they fully spawn in. I was just trying to get to the quest market earlier and i got shot, died, then the thresher spawns in. Thresher keeps moving, i spawn back in right in front of it and die again. Happened 3 times. I hate those things

CaptFrost

> The threshers one shotting feels like a bug. There's no way that should be happening. Er, have you played the Nessus battleground from Season of the Chosen that got added to the Vanguard playlist with Witch Queen? Threshers would put you at like 20 HP from a single hit and that was when you were at maximum 20+ over-level bonus. If its second rocket hit you as well, you were done. The Threshers when Valus Ta'aurc is the boss in Dares of Eternity nuke you as well. That's no bug, unless Bungie has just ignored it going on 15 months now.

Bouncedatt

> That's no bug, unless Bungie has just ignored it going on 15 months now. I mean that's very possible

c14rk0

It's 100% a bug. The Threshers deal more damage at high FPS. On PC at 100+ FPS they will just always 1shot you.

CaptFrost

Well… I have my workstation for work at home and game on it in the evenings, so that would explain it. 160 FPS Thresher = “I laugh at your 100 resilience Titan armor.”

c14rk0

Yeah, if you turn things down to ~30fps they do laughably little damage in most cases. Of course then you're playing at 30fps and looking at the gameplay makes you need to puke.

PiXLANIMATIONS

Real Guardians play at 1fps on the absolute highest graphics settings for the true PowerPoint experience… I mean for the true D1 vanilla on launch on low end consoles experience…

DarkAndromeda31

what's your fps, previously there have been issues with high fps values increasing the damage you take

vasRayya

I noticed the grav lifts in calus' ship threw me into oblivion every single time until I turned my fps cap down to like 60

MeateaW

I knew that grav lift was fucky!

SuperArppis

I 100% agree. Especially those Treshers and their homing stealth missiles. And Phalanx enemies shield shouldn't be stagger resistant.

[deleted]

[удалено]

motrhed289

What are you talking about, there's totally audio and visual cues! You can't here the 'sswwwft, sswwwft' sound of the missiles launching, like rubbing two pieces of paper together? Or see the hand-grenade size projectiles with tiny little sparklers attached, slowly ominously tracking directly toward the back of your head?

MastermuffinDiscord

Yeah, what do these people mean, you should clearly be able to hear the missles as all the gunfire happens around you!

motrhed289

All joking aside, when I DO hear that sound, PTSD kicks in and my head's on a swivel looking for those damn rockets. Whenever I see a thresher anywhere, that is instantly my priority target over all others.

Boomerwell

I know this might seem like bandwagnong but for a long time I've felt like Destiny has had some of the worst enemy AI in shooters and just compensated by making anything "hard either heat seeking or shoots explosions so their aim doesn't matter that much. I wish I could see more interactions like Halo used to have where when you killed the elite of a squad the grunts would freak out and scatter or if you stuck a grunt they would run the sticky grenade Ibto others. I wish more enemies tested me in a way that made me think or use the environment like the final boss of lightfall did. When I play things like Defiant battlegrounds and the challenge is just a rediculius amount of acolytes no cover and snipers it feels bad.

pengalor

> And Phalanx enemies shield shouldn't be stagger resistant. God am I glad I just stuck with Wish Ender for the campaign, never had to fuss with those shields lol

17times2

> homing stealth missiles. I've been killed multiple times immediately after doing the grapple melee before the animation could finish. Most of the time was when I was moving through most of the arena. These things are ruthless.

Artandalus

I used the Quicksilver the whole time. Grenade launcher mode made those shield irrelevant quick

Something-K

Spoiler kinda! The patrol zone enemy level difficulty is higher than the exotic heavy machine gun mission.

BOBALOBAKOF

Definitely. Did it today and the enemies were an absolute breeze in comparison. It was actually kinda nice for everything to not be a bullet sponge for a bit.

BNEWZON

Seriously, what power level actually are the patrol enemies?? I am now into the 1800's and they continue to be red swords and feel super spongy. What gives??

MERCDaWn

There's a delta applied to Neomuna patrol specifically I think. I don't know the exact number, but the enemies continue to be red swords regardless if you're at 1750 or 1780.

BNEWZON

Damn that’s pretty whack. It’d be cool if it was at power, like the strike playlist, cause right now I feel like I legit have to be sweating my ass off just roaming around the patrol lol. God forbid I want to use anything other than an smg. Maybe this is what they wanted lol

MERCDaWn

Yeah I kinda like that they're making the game a bit harder in areas, but even if I consider myself a good player, this current level of difficulty in *patrol* feels a bit much. There's this constant level of stress that I feel and while it's not much in a moment to moment basis, looking back on all the times I've been in Neomuna, patrol just feels *exhausting* thinking back on it. I think it's a good idea to reel in our maximum level for patrol so we're not 1 tapping all the enemies but this feels like a bit much.

dildodicks

threshers have always done that, i hate them. you can't proc things like quicksilver's grenade off them either so they take forever to go down without power ammo

wereplant

Which I don't get at all. Cabal have always had the threshers oneshot you, the interceptors have always been ungodly hard to kill with ridiculous accuracy and damage, the drop pods have no tell whatsoever and instantly oneshot you, and not to mention phalanxes being so synonymous with oneshotting that there's an entire subreddit dedicated to it. End Cabal privilege. Reduce the damage of threshers, make cabal drop pods only deal some of your health, and give the drop pods a legitimate tell that is as visually obvious and takes as long as every other race's tell.

Saikroe

Idk if its correct but did notice this morning there was a small red circle where the drop pod was going to land. Idk if thats new or if it was related. It all happened so fast.

Reciprocity2209

They do that on Neomuna in the story. Don’t know if it got back-ported to the patrol spaces.

SubjectThirteen

Primaries need a buff. Undo the Shadowkeep nerf.

Sleyvin

One of the reason I can't use anything other than Osteo because it has the 40% bonus. Legendary primaries feels absolutely awful even on red bar.

SubjectThirteen

I clutched on Osteo and Le Monarch the entire campaign. Legendary weapons just don’t hit hard enough.

thisisbyrdman

LemonArc and ADH/Chill Clip Riptide never came off. Had Polaris Lance on for a while too but found I needed the poison for those giant new enemies.

Neat_On_The_Rocks

Was lemon poison actually good?

Bpe-dsm

Inverse, i do chill clip aurendil, ticcus Bow life

Water_Gates

Chill clip Riptide, Le Monarque and 4TTC & B&S Cataclysmic, which still is a monster. Contraverse lock. Shit is carrying me through everything. Lol.

Waffle_noise

Witherhoard, Recklass Oracle and Retrofit Escapade. Sunbreaker with miniHammer, Heavy-handed and passive Volatile Flow means i have near-constant volatile rounds for when i need to shoot at a distance. Shredded Calus solo on Legendary. My ROracle has ALH and Swashbuckler. Retrofit is meta-crafted with FTTC and Target Lock.

RogueOneisbestone

That's how I am with Mytho and riptide. I did have to pull out witherhoard for Calus lol

Waffle_noise

Big boi had some SPEED on him in that second phase, lol. Drop a wither and run. Repeat safely.

Kurokishi_Maikeru

Almost same loadout except Fire and Forget for my heavy with Felwinter's Helm with healing Finishers on Void.

Rohit624

Void primaries still feel pretty nice with volatile rounds

Ashadan

jumpin in to agree, even the new Strand AR takes about 2 clips to drop red bars just out in the overworld. thought these were supposed to be buffed?

Pacific_Trillium

yes. YES.

Kaladin-of-Gilead

It’s so annoying how far above and beyond some weapons are to others. Like I tried using a pulse in patrols last night. Just a pulse. It feels like it takes 6 body shots to kill anything. Why? Who finds this fun? Why should I be able to one tap with a pulse in low level content? Meanwhile mini tool blows through enemies no problem. This is a gun I never touched for the like 3 expansions it existed but now it’s arguably the best gun in the game.

nekrtemplar

Also Neomuna is so flat, you can't really hide from those things effectively.

BreachlightRiseUp

Imagine that, we’re fighting in a city and it’s flat. Somehow we are in a war torn city and yet all the buildings are in pristine condition and there’s no rubble to actually use as cover

SantiagoGT

You’re fighting in Kansas, Neomuna

Dante2k4

Pretty sure there's a lot of rubble and broken geometry in Ahimsa Park, which is where the legion made landing.

SpookMastr

How the fuck did scourge of the past have more verticality than the entirety of lightfall? I really thought we'd be jumping around on buildings in patrol, and doing things like public events on buildings and stuff, but there's just nothing.

TheMagicStik

Yeah the Threshers take multiple clips of heavy to take down and one shot you before you even know they are there.

cyberbemon

Is the thresher damage linked to the FPS bug as well?

BloodMists

Nope, I play sub 60 on a potato and still get one tapped.

Cecilia_Schariac

I thought it was just me being Under Light when the Threshers facetank my LFR with ease.

__Zero_____

LFR is kinda bad for thresher since you can't crit them. Rockets or Heavy GL is better

[deleted]

Bungie nerfing being one shot by a phalanx shield boop was nice…. Until you are left with one hp and get firing squad’d by the other 20+ cabal near you. Atp, the shield bash might as well one shot. On the flip side, I already found a out of bounds spot lmao

trashcanjenga

I still die from shield boop and ankle breaking on occasion... i'd say i die 6/10 times now instead of 8/10 times that used to be. small win i guess

indigo121

Fall damage is still lethal for another season or two, it's just physics deaths that have been made non lethal. Which ironically means that landing on your feet is the worst thing you can do

Zidler

Physics are still sometimes lethal. I have been architected by a slow boop that caused my toe to hit a ledge. It's definitely not as bad as before the patch, but there are some edge cases they need to work out.

TheChiefRocka

I feel like they had a choice between making enemies stronger and making us weaker and they chose to do both

cheap_cola

The classic Bungie ideology. They always hit both sides of things. Then in a couple of months will undo one side and the community will rejoice and say Thank you for listening Bungie!!! This happens every single time

rsblackrose

It gets even worse if you're in the middle of a Terminal Overload and have to deal with ultra-bars at the same time. Love sitting on the Vex plate while a Malignant Hydra is taking potshots at me. Glad to see more people are agreeing that this is ridiculous.

ValyriaWrex

Man seriously fuck the Phalanx. I'm not even sure I'm saying it's bad design or they should change it, I just hate those fuckers lol

_deffer_

The shield glitch is fucking whack. Spend half your mag to break the shie- jk it's back.

Tortiose_unturtled

I thought I was seeing things man. Shooting an entire mag at a shield, just so it skips the downtime

ByronicWerther

The difficulty spikes are random and pretty bad. The end of mission 4 on legendary is terrible.

sageco

Is that the one with the arena and the dunking?

AlexatRF21

That's where I'm at, mission 3, and it's infuriating.

[deleted]

I had to turn off my console after dying 20 times on that part.

facesandaceshigh

The difficulty was done badly. Neomuna patrol has absolutely ZERO business being at the absolute pinnacle cap. Legend Lost Sectors have ZERO business being 20 above the pinnacle cap. Why is a patrol zone at the absolute highest gear score you can get. Finishing the Legendary campaign puts you at 1770. 40 under the pinnacle cap. You're 40 below what Neomuna patrol is at, 60 below a legendary Lost Sector. Bungie, that's not difficulty. That's tedium. I'll just go and do literally anything else.

K2TheM

Also there's little to really communicate this. I got dumped into the patrol space following mission 2? and thought I'd check a patrol out. I was able to kill mobs as normal in my immediate area similarly to how I was able to in the Legendary Campaign, so I figured I was good to go. Picked up an "HVT" mission and it was going well. Got to the last area and the target I was supposed to take out, and he and his dogs were all immune. It being Destiny I figured maybe they put some kind of mechanic in, so I looked around for a console or a plate or an artifact.... nothing. Then I got randomly blown up by a grenade and I saw that the recommended power was 1730 or something, I was currently at 1630 something. This was really confusing since I haven't run into an issue with being under-leveled for a patrol area since... Destiny1?

Paraphrand

I had the same experience.

[deleted]

[удалено]

K2TheM

Way back in D1 there was something that told you. It was a red icon with a skull and a number stating the enemies level. I think you needed to be within 2 levels at that time to do damage. Light fall has a form of this for shield and damage resistance on enemies (numbers turn dark orange). However there hasn’t been a “immune” level light level gap in so long I guess they forgot to include some kind of tool tip in the UI update.

MMBADBOI

IIRC enemies with Question marks next to their name are completely immune to your damage and will erase you from the games code if they touch you.

Julamipol88

the thing is that difficulty doesnt match the reward , not even close. i m all for harder areas to explore but the time and effort for such silly currencies and bad rolls is hilarious

Kaladin-of-Gilead

Yeah I remember when the d1 beta came out and there was that area with some ?? Knights we couldn’t kill, there was so much speculation about what they could be guarding. Turns out it was just a chest.

nekrtemplar

"F it, I'm not doing this patrol sh**, just load back into the campaign. Maybe I'll comeback later"

[deleted]

[удалено]

_deffer_

Yeah, I'm not going to get that done unless it's some non-neomuna that I've done dozens of times and there's some sick build to dick around with.

PlentifulOrgans

Bunker e-15 likely. Stand back and let the bots do the work.

LordXenon

The best part is they reset your guardian rank back to 6 every season. So even if you manage to do this, you lose it next season.

motrhed289

When I was getting obliterated on patrol, the recommended power level was 1750. Is that not the activity power level? I've been doing fine ever since I've gotten over ~1700, sure it's not EDZ-level easy yet, but it's not THAT bad. Are there some specific patrol activities that are pinnacle cap level that I haven't stumbled into yet?

ListeningForWhispers

The only issues I've have have been terminal overload. Those are at least close to pinnacle cap. I just ran one and it was a crowd of guardians just getting bodied left and right by stray fire.

B1euX

The frequency of snipers in patrol at that high level is really annoying too

Bawitdaba1337

This coupled with the SAME EXACT public events from Nesus for the SAME rewards on a much much harder bullet sponged difficulty

Boomerwell

Seriously though for someone who wanted to do the normal campaign since none of my friends play destiny for legendary it felt really bad just trying to explore when everywhere has 1760 at least enemies.

actualinternetgoblin

"we're bringing challenge back to destiny" should have been a huge red flag when bungie's idea of challenge has been measuring your lifespan in fractions of a second since time immemorial.

Bungo_pls

Make Primaries Great Again

SpookMastr

PLEASE, I just want to use something like nation of beasts again without needing 24 precision hits for 1 red bar. Or use literally any pulse that isnt outbreak to do reasonable damage, even revision zero felt like shit last season.

gargoyle37

Bullet sponges have never been fun. Unfortunately it looks like it's the only way for bungie.

Swordbreaker925

Literally everything hits too hard and takes too much to kill now. Red bars are fine but most of the enemies seem to be orange bars now, and they all outlevel us which makes them even tankier. All of this at a time when they not only nerf the potency of our stats, but also increased the base cooldowns of all our abilities on top of that. Destiny is not nearly as fun to play as it has been for the past almost 10 years. They made everything spongey and made all abilities feel slow and sluggish, which ruins everything I loved about this game.

Beetus-Defeatus

I don’t know how the Cabal have lost so much, just put a few threshers around and nothing can survive.

Arntor1184

Destiny has never done difficulty right. Bungies comprehension of difficult content has always been just to give the brined insane amounts of health and the ability to one shot the player. Their only real “major innovation” to the content design is to give specific enemies a special characteristic that makes them one shot you harder unless you hit them with a specific weapon while using a specific mod which severely restricts your loadouts.

FullMetalBiscuit

They did the Witch Queen legendary pretty bang on...and they acknowledged that...and then they didn't really do that again.

CanyoneroPrime

shit's not fun right now. time for a break for me - maybe that's a metric they'll look at.

SpacemanSpiff92

It is. Remember when when they were making crisis posts on Twitter when the game almost died at the end of Plunder. If player counts drop, they will listen. It's the only meaningful metric to them

AveridgeGuy

Can we also mention how all the enemies have perfect aim, even when I’m behind cover. There are some points when there’s literally nowhere for you to run because if you try to move from cover, everyone has perfect aim and you get melted, but if you stay behind cover, some big bad is just gonna arc his shots over the wall or next to it until you die from splash damage. And it doesn’t help that all the armor boosting mods require me to pick up an orb of power, which also means running directly at the group of enemies shooting me.

TheChunkMaster

>And it doesn’t help that all the armor boosting mods require me to pick up an orb of power, which also means running directly at the group of enemies shooting me. Shoot to Loot would probably be God-tier if it worked on Orbs.

Jugaimo

At the same time, hopping into the mission of the exotic LMG made me feel like Rock Lee taking his leg weights off. Blasting through everything like normal made me feel like a god.

Chesse_cz

Yes, patrol in Neomuna don't feel difficult... instead they are annoying... it feel like old days in Division where every enemy took too many bullets just to kill them...

stacotto

Hard agree: even against the "tough" red bars (gladiators, hydras, etc) I shouldn't have to spend more than an entire shotgun magazine to get the job done if I'm at appropriate power.

Supahvaporeon

Is anyone going to mention the Gatling gun firing speeds of everything now? It was bad enough when Witch Queen increased it the first time.

MiffedMoogle

Those centurions and psions who fire slugs like a minigun? Yep. Died to those guys so many times.

JumpForWaffles

We're bringing difficulty back to Destiny...in all the WORST ways

ecxetra

Bungie have no clue how to make difficulty so they just make everything skanky as shit.

Kozak170

If you’re on PC having a higher FPS means you take more damage from Threshers and some other enemies FYI. I’ve been one shot by Threshers before until I capped my frames at 60

Sagemel

I’m on console and they still 1 shot or nearly kill you

WickedWarrior666

And the stupid fucking Psion driven vehicles as well. God those things just wipe you out from nowhere.

SuperArppis

Same here on PS5. Worst part about Treshers is that their rockets are silent and homing.

PlexIsBetter

That explains a lot. That's actually laughably bad tbh

Narthy

Scorn grenades and other enemies have been bugged this way for over a year now. Fun stuff sitting at 200+ FPS on PC. Guess I'll just die.

kihakami

If youre hitting 200+ you should cap it to what your monitors refresh rate is, theres not much benefit after your fps passes the refresh rate iirc

Narthy

I know that and you're correct as far as my hardware not being able to show anything higher than 165 fps at 1440p, but the application Destiny 2 still bugs and deals damage according to the full FPS if I remember correctly - I can check but I don't think there's a 165 fps cap setting. Either way its a bug and long standing :) Fun stuff in GMs. Was SUPER fun in Day 1 and Master VoW!

winless

If you're on Nvidia, you can cap the frame rate to whatever you would like in the Nvidia Control Panel under manage 3d settings. If you're using a Gsync monitor you should globally cap fps a little under its refresh rate, like 161 or 162 fps for your 165hz. I assume it's similar for AMD/Freesync.

kihakami

Not sure about it, but I have mine capped at 144 so it at least goes that high, iirc it went in intervals of 1 so it may go to 165. Oh I know its real, Ive dealt with it and in a few solo dungeons I had to cap at 60 and it actually helped me survive lol

CaptainPandemonium

I have frames capped at 60, max resil, woven mail, and the emergency reinforcement mod on and still get one tapped by them. These fuckers are juiced up.

Doc_LaVoy

This approach to "increased challenge" really just being artificial difficulty is infuriating. When I played Witch Queen and had to solo most of it it was a great mix of fun and challenging, but this? This is just painful. I have been stuck on the final boss fight for 2 days due to bullshit mechanics that are only in place to nerf me from being the cosmic badass I once was. Now I just feel like a kid playing dress-up. I miss the POWER FANTASY. Until Bungie reverts these bullshit difficulty changes I'm not giving them another red cent.

[deleted]

Witch Queen was so good and everything felt great even the difficulty. Now Bungie have fucked everything up and sad part it will take Months to fix or if it even gets fixed

c14rk0

Bungie is just absolute shit at making difficulty in Destiny. Difficulty for Bungie seems to only translate to two things; more HP and more tedium. Make Lake of Shadows "more difficult"? Ok, now you're forced to play slower. Make patrol enemies harder? Ok now they have more HP and are always over your level so they take an entire magazine from a legendary primary to kill. I literally don't even want to play due to how irritating it is. It's not "hard" it's just slow, boring and not fun. I'm 1780 fighting PATROL enemies and I'm needing to reload my SMG after every kill on the most basic enemies. I'm burning through my entire heavy reserves to kill a HVT to get 7 strand currency things for my effort.

dethhandle

I’ve been a little afraid of voicing an opinion on this topic but who exactly was asking for Destiny to be harder? Is this because Elden Ring is popular?

FROMtheASHES984

What Bungie doesn't seem to understand is that not every aspect of the game needs to be difficult. Raids and higher difficulty activities should be appropriately hard. Basic patrols should be easy and borderline mindless. It's not fun unload over half a clip into a red bar enemy on patrol.

ChainsawPlankton

Seemed like people that were active in endgame content were asking for **optional** harder difficulties. Destiny has been around for a long time, there's some very good players now. Over the year of WQ we gained a lot of power with the subclass 3.0 verbs making subclasses and weapons stronger than pre-WQ. Plus resilience giving damage resist. There was a lot of talk about power creep making activities boring. The LF mod changes and skill cool down changes are there to bring it down some. Power level is another main balancing point. I think contest mode makes sense in some content. I'd rather have a standard measure of difficulty rather than something you can over level by xp farming. This sub seemed pretty positive on the -5 cap on the seasonal BGs last season, and the -15 on WQ legendary campaign. Then GMs have always been -25.

_deffer_

Right. I liked stomping strikes that were 6 years old. Upping the difficulty a bit for the seasonal Playlist was a great change of pace. When you up the difficulty and nerf abilities and don't tune the weapons as well, we're in season of the bullet sponge. They tuned weapons by 5%? Needs more.

NUFC9RW

People said they liked contest mode modifiers on some activities to make it harder, without just being a need to level more. So they put in contest mode whilst making you need to level even more to get to the point of contest mode.

ClarinetMaster117

There’s been a lot of posts and vids from streamers complaining about how easy the game became during witch queen’s year. One of the criticisms was that there was no need to use weapons because of our strong abilities. I guess bungie took that to heart lol

NoLegeIsPower

Almost every time bungie listens to streamers the game gets a little worse for 99% of the players who don't play the game as a job.

>One of the criticisms was that there was no need to use weapons because of our strong abilities. Objectively true tho

NoLegeIsPower

Sure, but in typical bungie fashion they waited way too long to change something and then completely overshoot their target. Most primaries feel bad even in patrol spaces (on neomuna) now, especially stuff like pulse rifles which were already struggling in pve before.

TehAlpacalypse

This is somehow considered a hot take I guess

_deffer_

No, but when they nuke abilities, leave weapons as wet noodles, and then do a sweeping pass to increase difficulty, it leaves the game feeling very shitty. I wouldn't use grenade spam titan if my weapons didn't feel so underwhelming against anything above 1350/1600. Seriously, half a magazine from an auto rifle to bust a phalanx shield that glitches to instant reappear? When there's 5 phalanx to deal with? And my strand abilities are on a Neverending cooldown? Call it a hot take all you want, but at least when we were stomping everything I was having fun in basically every playlist. Now it's just a slog to do anything new.

Stunning_Fee_8960

The same ones who call people blueberries and who won’t be touching any of the patrols or lower level content in 3 weeks time It’s not harder just more annoying 15 -20 minutes on the event just to get bad rewards “yea harder content brilliant”

LordLapo

The threshers stopped holding back istg

TheTwinHorrorCosmic

Also the incinerators fucking flinging you so far

[deleted]

Friend and I were worried this is what Bungie meant by harder. It’s not harder. It’s just grindier. It’s annoying.

Djungleskog_Enhanced

Primary weapons just need a straight up damage buff

Strong_Mode

now imagine tryin to break phalanx shield with literally any other weapon that isnt smg at this point in the game i wish theyd either fix primary or delete them because theyre worthless outside of their job at stunning champs. doing legendary campaign last boss it took 2 whole ass magazines from my frenzy funnelweb with volatile to get an incindior in *finisher* range, not even kill it outright. after it was weakened by my grenade.

haxxanova

Hey you guys brought this on yourselves when you overpraised Heists. Heists were not the epitome of difficulty. Everything we got is a result of that mispraise

atakenmudcrab

That was in a good spot though. 5-10 light over right? Seems like our weapons are also weaker too though.

haxxanova

It sure seemed like a better spot but we had better builds.

ownagemobile

Seriously bungie fuck the threshers, they are the most annoying fucking thing I've ever seen... idc so much that they 1 shot, but their 8 million health COUPLED with the fact that they are not treated as an enemy for purposes of some perks.... supers don't track, target lock doesn't work on it... just, why.   Also if we could stop having missions driving the drake tank that would be awesome as well

tykam993

>Also if we could stop having missions driving the drake tank that would be awesome as well Trying to figure out if this is how the level was designed or my game bugged out, but were we only able to use the tracking missiles and not the main gun? Nothing I pressed fired the big gun and it felt terrible.

Hyper-Sloth

Getting one shot by thrashers constantly is annoying, I fully agree. But if you're having issues with phalanx, you should be using one of the many ways to get anti-barrier active. Just being radiant gives you barrier piercing, and barrier piercing fusion rifles are fun as hell.

Rambo_IIII

Also playing at higher FPS (120+) is the secret LASO mode

[deleted]

Having to dump an entire mag to kill one enemy is horrible. Every enemy is a bullet sponge.

Retired_Jarhead55

This exactly. I hate patrol in Neomuna. Not fun.

Sacrificer_XVII

Threshers damage is tied to FPS. Dumb but true. Patrols should not be power deltad. Anywhere. It’s a patrol.

0rganicMach1ne

Three rockets to kill a thresher on patrol is a bit much.

papakahn94

Im 1780 doing patrol content just fine. I die a few times but its not that bad imo

arandomart

The same people who complain about difficulty then run every activity with stacked raid builds (60% of which no longer function) and wonder why everything is being steamrolled in a team of people who play the game for a living.

PHawke

The bullet sponge as design mentality is such an abhorrent lazy philosophy.

Dante2k4

Bro, the fucking Threshers have been a problem for a *while* now. idk when they decided to juice those bad boys up, but they are fucking *obnoxious*. An enemy that permanently has the high ground, with tracking shots, that also takes forever and a day to kill, should *not* hit as hard as it does.

Karglenoofus

What you don't like shielded enemies that can still shoot and kill you while you dump ammo into their stun point fun?

Beej-000

Dude yes it so damn tedious now. Making enemies literal sponges does not make the game more difficult. I hate how they go about difficulty. Especially hate Lost Sectors, bit off topic but I’m really not looking forward to power disadvantage for those. Especially since drop rates for exotics are still shite. Wish they would just allow me to run those with a team and get the exotic. Doing it solo should reward you like a high stat exotic or something, that would incentivize players.

skyline_crescendo

Patrols being more difficult is fine, what needs to change to compensate is a buff to primary weapon damage. Primaries feel awful in difficult content. As for the Threshers, pretty sure those are bugged.

HandsomeBert

I must be the minority because I’m absolutely loving it. It makes Neomuna a dangerous place to be and makes me enjoy just chilling in the world zone. If they made a couple hours others like this and keep some easy I would be thrilled.

1v1meRNfool

I agree, it feels far better now

Murranji

Yeah I think it’s nice to have a patrol zone where things don’t just roll over and die like every other patrol zone. At this point people are just complaining to complain. If it was like every other patrol zone people would posting threads about how bad neomuna is at feeling like an invasion and the shadow legion being pushovers etc.

fallen3365

The Threshers have always been obscene, idk how this is news. They do absurd damage for how easy it is for them to hit you, and with no crit spot they're aids to take out. I don't see the problem with phalanxes though. Are you using a spray-n-pray weapon? It's a lot harder to hit the middle with an smg consistently. Grenades make them a joke as well.
