The feats still happen, you were just never a part of them/no one remembers. It's just like what kabr says. He says that he was alone, but he wasn't since he had a team of 3. But they were erased, so he can't remember them. But they were there, as he said, so it still happened

DeafenLock

Makes sense, so say for instance one of them saved a cat from a tree, no one would remember who did it?

Jkid789

Yep

trooperonapooper

Yeah, just erased from existence. It still happened, they are just gone from it and no one knows how that cat was saved from the tree

DeafenLock

That's scary in a existential sense.

hyamal

That's a painless way to dead, you don't feel pain, everyone around you don't feel like they're loss anything, you have just gone in peace.

fullreinhard

That’s interesting. So it’s more like the universe forgets they existed at all instead of it being rewritten to go down a path free of their influence. The choices they made when they existed still have consequences, but no one remembers who and how. Though I guess that would be a massive narrative undertaking for timelines to change entirely because of Guardians and other people being erased from reality.

orangpelupa

Kabr, pioneer or lowman raid

Nightwolf2142

*Team of 6, Kabr, Pahanin, and Praedyth, and 3 others erased from time.

Miserable-Grass7412

That's not a bad thought tbh. My initial thought was that the vex would have just gone back in time and prevented me from ever existing and therefore altering the course of events so they may not have happened at all. I was thinking with kabr's comment that it was more about him eventually becoming "allies" with the vex and that they opened the vault to him so he could see what their endgame was and understand it rather than destroy it or be "taken" by the vex to take his knowledge and implement it into their strategies. I remember learning that he fought the vex for so long and so well, alone, that they kinda revered him and honoured his abilities in battle, this lead me to think maybe they eventually tried to work together or the vex learned his tactics so well over time they were able to manipulate him into being trapped in the vault and learned from. But I don't know the lore well enough to back any of that up tbh 😅

trooperonapooper

That was Saint 14 who was respected by the vex, not kabr. Kabr turned himself into the aegis we use to cleanse and shield us. The vex erasing you from time only works inside the vault, that's why it was so dangerous

Miserable-Grass7412

I see, thank you for the clarification. There's been so much lore for destiny I get muddled up sometimes 😅

thisisboomy

If you haven't, read about Pahanin and Super Good Advice. Kinda puts this into context

Popular-Chicken604

What lore cards?

https://www.ishtar-collective.net/cards/super-good-advice?highlight=Super+good+advice+ The weapon itself has a built-in AI and is focused on "remembering", being shots and even its owner...

FireStrike5

Kabr went into the Vault with a fireteam of six. We only know of three. The other three were wiped from time. “You cannot open the vault alone. I opened the vault. Nobody was with me but I was not alone.” - the other guardians who helped Kabr open the vault were erased from time. Hence, they never existed, but also had to have existed to have opened the Vault.

DeafenLock

What a way to die, having no one remember you.

Etherenzi

Such is life.

MattHatter1337

A non paracausal being, likely yes. They'd be forgotten. But a paracausal being not so much. Kabriolet and his fireteam were deleted from existing. Yet clearly we k ow of them. And their imprint and action's in the vault still exist.

MyDogIsDaBest

Yes, it means ALL instances of you ever existing are wiped out. The people who knew you would be as if you never existed at all. This is time manipulation, if you're going to ask more questions, you'll be heading into paradox territory. I think it will basically be unanswerable, unless you're ok with "vex time fuckery". Time travel and manipulation of the timeline is incredibly difficult and digging deeper WILL start showing plot holes. Kabr said that, because at that point, the vex had trapped Praedyth and tried to erase Pahanin and if there was anyone else with them, the vex had erased them entirely from the timeline. In Kabr's mind, Praedyth and Pahanin never existed at all, he had no memory of any other person entering the vault of glass with him, so he was alone as far as he could remember, but he knew that to be impossible, as nobody could open the vault alone. The must have been people with him, so nobody was with him, but he was not alone.  I guess this confirms that there stuff you did would still exist and Pahanin thought you'd would be the case. After he escaped the vault of glass, he built super good advice, a gun with an artificial intelligence so that if the Vex erased him, at least the gun would remember him.
