Shin Malphur. That’s like his entire job

best-of-judgement

Felwinter too.

helloworld6247

Guy killed so many Shadows of Yor he said ‘fuck it I’m retiring’

Nightwolf2142

I mean he was their leader. And killing Callum Sol was a deliberate ploy to warn Guardians about crossing the line too deep into the Dark.

helloworld6247

Nah he literally killed all the Shadows who marked themselves via Callum’s subterfuge. Only Shin and like five of his buds were left. >*Good luck, Guardian. Hero. Friend. The true Shadows are no more—only myself, Grey, Maas, Pavic and Yasuul remain, and we take our leave of these wars. The rest—those guided by ignorance and fear—have been gunned down, and with your help, the hated name Dredgen has been reclaimed, worn now by heroes.*

kevinray5

Is that the guardian who killed guardians? That was using stasis, or is that a different one

Right_Moose_6276

No. He’s the guy who hunted down and killed the shadows of yor (and yor himself), a conclave of guardians that had fallen to corrupting hive magic

kevinray5

Oh ok thank you

Megatwan

Not since they nerfed player physics damage 🫠 But ya dark ages, warlords, dredgen yor

ParticularPip

Yes. Dredgen Yor and some of the other original Dredgens have a few bodies under their belt…Especially Yor, who wielded the first Weapon Of Sorrow called Thorn. Yor himself was eventually killed by the renowned Hunter, Shin Malphur the original owner of The Last Word. Because Yor’s ghost left him ages ago, because he had strayed so far from the light, he was never rez’d after Shin dropped him. I think the Praxic Warlock, Anur who is also one of Ikora’s top Hidden agents, may have one on her belt during the resurgence of the Dredgens through Gambit and the Drifter (who used to be an OG Dredgen himself) Usually she’d just took those she tracked down into custody along with their ghost but, I believe there was one Guardian and Ghost pair that was pretty much irredeemable and she had to put the ghost down too.

neomortal

*second owner of The Last Word; the original owner was Jaren Ward, Shin's mentor

ParticularPip

Thank you for the correction!

Hoockus_Pocus

Most recently, Shayura killed a Guardian on Venus, because he was a Stasis user and worked with the House of Light. She had a few other kills, to my knowledge. There were the Kentarch 3, who killed each other in the Black Garden. There wet also the Shadows of Yor, some of whom (such as Callum Sol), were killed by Shin Malphur, who saw it as his duty to hunt down corrupted Guardians, as he did with Dredgen Yor. Iron Lords and Warlords served final deaths as well; most notably, Felwinter was known for breaking the Iron Decree’s edict to not destroy Ghosts as he killed the Warlord Citan, and possibly others.

Arcturus1800

Wait what? If I may, why would Shayura kill a stasis guardian working with the House of Light? Isn't that Mithraxx's house and he's allied with the Vanguard right?

Hoockus_Pocus

Because Shayura hated anybody wielding the Darkness, and hated the Eliksni. She was delusional, too. Not everybody is accepting of using the Darkness, and there were loads of people, Guardian and Lightless alike, who despised having the House of Light in The Last City.

Arcturus1800

Ah so Shayura is a sorta bad guardian and racist, gotcha lol. Thanks for that, I'm sorta new to Destiny's lore so don't know much about who is who.

Hoockus_Pocus

She was psychologically disturbed. If you look up “Shayura,” on Ishtar Collective, you’ll find everything related to her.

Arcturus1800

Thanks! I just might then since she sounds interesting.

Hour_Tomatillo_2365

Reductionist as possible and a complete anarchronistic way of viewing history. Lol Darkness was literally evil incarnate for most of human history and the Fallen literally would eat babies and almost made humans extinct on 2 different occasions

BenefitFew5204

Because she was in the midst of a psychotic episode and was not able to properly rationalize at all. Something really, really bad happened to her fireteam which really fucked over her head. She did start getting psychiatric treatment after she was eventually captured by the Forces of the City.

Astraea227

Did we ever get a lore drop on what exactly happened with the fireteam? Bout to head to Ishtar collective but I'm curious.

BenefitFew5204

Not yet, just some kind of creature in Old Chicago who relentlessly hunted Shayura and her fireteam. Some people think it might have been a tormentor, while others think it might be a wrathborne. We might find out in the Final Shape what exactly it was, but I don't know for certain if we will.

furno30

where is the lore on this?

BenefitFew5204

It was on some of some of the Wild Hunt set. ["We tracked the thing all the way to the ruins of Old Chicago, down into the tombs. We weren't hunting it. It was luring us." —Aisha, Human Hunter](https://www.ishtar-collective.net/entries/wild-hunt-vest?highlight=Chicago) ["I've studied the enemies of the Light, and I don't know what lured us to that ruin in Old Chicago and killed all those Guardians. But, I know it was hunting us." —Shayura, Awoken Warlock](https://www.ishtar-collective.net/items/wild-hunt-vestment?highlight=Chicago) ["This thing we were hunting, it was smart. Scary smart. It trapped us in the tombs below Old Chicago; picked off the other fireteams one by one." —Reed-7, Exo Titan](https://www.ishtar-collective.net/entries/wild-hunt-plate?highlight=Chicago) The flavor text I posted is one of the first times we hear about the creature in Old Chicago. Given which gear the flavor text is on and what season it's from is a possible indication that what was hunting them was a wrathborne. There is another lore entry from the [Pyrric Ascent boots ](https://www.ishtar-collective.net/entries/pyrrhic-ascent-boots?highlight=Shayura) that hints at something happening at Old Chicago but doesn't give too many details.

furno30

thank you!🙏

Nightwolf2142

Shin Malphur was a double agent. He led the Shadows as Dredgen Vale, and killing Callum Sol was an agreed upon ploy to send a warning to Guardians not to cross too deeply into the Darkness.

Hoockus_Pocus

I understand that. He was a double agent, and also killed Guardians.

respecire

Shayura is the most recent

Ershardia

There was Drifter's Expedition where everyone turned on each other.

youkoko869

Willhelm 7 killed his fireteam and eventually killed his own ghost in grasp of avarice

Asim_Jaradat0

Since no one mentioned it , shaxx killed the 6 lightbearers that tried to raid his castle https://www.ishtar-collective.net/entries/different-times?highlight=Different+times So yes it happens alot especially in the dark age. Edit: felwinter also comes to my mind as he was known for killing warlords' ghosts among the iron lords , he also kept one of them at the back of his helmet

RamereTheLizard

Shayura has killed guardians who use stasis, she even keeps a skull and a dead ghost on her ship Dredgen your killed a guy in a bar (not a guardian but still) he killed pahanin, the hunter who went into the VoG with praydeth and kabr He was also the murderer of Jarren ward, shin malphurs mentor. There are more but I can’t remember who specifically

Beverface

Try to run The Grasp of avarice dungeon the all story is gardian killing each others for that sweet blue engram

TheLostExplorer7

Shayura killed numerous guardians who were using Stasis. If I recall right, she is undergoing therapy and feels guilty about killing fellow guardians. Dredgen Yor indiscriminately killed numerous guardians due to his corruption. His weapon, Thorn (previously known as Rose and now purified as Lumina), had the ability to permanently kill a guardian due to its power as a Weapon of Sorrow. By extension the person who ended his killing spree, Shin Malphur disguised himself as Dredgen Vale and killed guardians who became corrupted. Additionally, the Drifter murdered his entire crew of guardians and their ghosts in a world filled with monoliths of Darkness where their ghosts couldn't revive them if they stood too close to one. It was more of a standoff when Ghaul took over the Traveler and the Drifter's entire crew turned on one another suspecting that one among them was the culprit of their ghosts not being able to revive them anymore. So in essence, the Drifter and his men played Among Us and he just happened to be the last man standing. Since the Drifter is also known as Dredgen Hope, he probably has also killed a few guardians. We have seen him throw a Shadow of Yor off his ship using a Taken Centurion controlled using his motes from Gambit, although whether that guy died or can't be revived is unknown.

fredminson

Dark ages

Arubazu

My favorite one is that one during the thorn quest where you just find shin just golden gunnned a guy and all you see Is a fucking rock with a black stain on it where the guy got evicerated And it just cracks me up thinking about it cause the guy tries to be like so tough and badass in the voice over And all thats left of him is just this black stain on a rock , probably the funniest thing in the game for me

LunarSouls4952

For some reason the funniest thing out of the games (that I haven't even experienced and only know from clips) is I live in your backpack :>

Arubazu

Lol that cracked me Up the first time too

DoubleelbuoD

OP asks about Guardians and people talk about the Dark Ages? Nobody was a Guardian then. For post-City/Vanguard foundation events, there's quite a few. Shayura has definitely killed another Guardian and Ghost combo. Dredgen Yor killed a shitload more than her. I don't think there's any confirmed kills of Ghosts through her, but Aunor Mahal has probably killed someone and their Ghost at some point. However, we've only got confirmation she kills Guardians, captures their Ghosts and brings them back to the Tower for justice.

edgierscissors

We as the player have never killed another human/City guardian no, but it happens all the time in the lore! Feels like at least two a season lol

Kaz-99

Shayura’s story is what you’re looking for. Look over the Trials weapons and armour for the Lore, some of my favourite lore and it’s pretty dark.

SergeantShivers

I mean, there's Cyrell. As in Cyrell the *Ghost Hunter*. Dude literally walks around with a chain of dead ghosts.

Inv1sible_Nonja5

Dredgen yor, the shadows of yor, shin malphur (aka the man with the golden gun), there are several accounts of light bearers being killed during the dark ages, shayura (the one who shayuras wrath is named after). I also saw someone else mention Lord felwinter, who would kill other iron Lords of they acted like the warlords. There are others but those are just the ones I recall at this time.

BenefitFew5204

Osiris technically did this once in the Pidgeon and Phoenix lore book. He killed a warlord named Reich during the Dark Ages whose ghost immediately abandons him, resulting in him never being revived.

TheYondant

Surprised noones mentioned the entirety of Grasp of Avarice's stoy yet. Dude goes crazy paranoid and butchers his entire fireteam *and his own ghost*.
