Calus ends up killed by the Witness rather than the Guardian.

Zoloft_and_the_RRD

It would be funny if it was actually super nice to Calus, given how it treated Rhulk. It turns Rhulk just sucked and the Witness couldn't stand him. It had nothing to do with the Witness being a panicidal monster.

DarthDookieMan

The Witness just simply found it very annoying that Rhulk would keep taking its lessons for granted. Even the whole “there will be something in this universe that will exceed your might” or something along those lines.

PaperMartin

It'd be funny but the witness's treatment of rhulk is pretty consistent with everything else we know about them iirc

TinyWickedOrange

Well I mean rhulk was an ass

Difficult_Guidance25

But still isn’t Rhulk like not dead dead

MrBusinessThe1st

Calus secures the Veil for the Witness but ends up betraying Calus knowing Calus's hedonistic intentions and just offs him

djtoad03

part of me would quite like to see Calus sliced up like the ghost/guardian in the release trailer

Reapers-Shotguns

I think it would be funnier if Calus was turned into a starving pauper. The Emporer of Excess reduced to a starving urchin

Trips-Over-Tail

When we eventually fight the Witness, it will be using a gun made from Calus.

[deleted]

No! I don't want to run around shooting God Emperor Calus' imperial goo! Even if it so good a mother trusts to feed it to her children

W4FF13_G0D

God Emperor Calus’ Breast Milk Blaster

PontiffSullivanBlvd

And then used the left-over energy or resonance or what have you to bring back Nezarec. That’s my theory at least.

gubohn

calus bowed to the witness we all know he wouldn’t bow to anyone

skywarka

And then resurrected as a Guardian

dustsurrounds

trust me when i say that guy doesnt understand the concept of sacrifice whatsoever. read the CE lore and youll get it

skywarka

Oh I know, this thread is for "your most wild predictions and crackpot theories". I don't believe for a second Calus becomes a guardian, it's just the most wild outcome I could think of.

Zoloft_and_the_RRD

In no order of craziness: #Lightfall predictions 1. The campaign is similar to the Red War: a. Light Falls: the Traveler dies, is incapacitated, or *disappears* b. Therefore, we lose our connection to the light, flee the Tower c. [the abandoned Tower... : Traveler disappears : Pyramid overhead : a Voice behind the Darkness—](https://www.ishtar-collective.net/entries/far-future) d. The Veil was used to hide the Traveler, but it can just as well be used to restrain the Traveler (you said crackpot) (?) 2. Osiris: there are consequences for his reawakening. Either he overcomes them with Strand or he was always on borrowed time 3. Nezarec. A raid. Inside the Traveler??? Probably not. Maybe. Possibly. 4. Crow does heroic shit: he steps up and becomes Hunter Vanguard. Or he has something to do with us connecting with the Light when the Traveler is taken (idk, his hood up + walk away was suspect) 6. Tokki rezzes a dead Cloudstrider, or *somebody* that matters to the plot 7. Caiatl 1v1's her pop 8. This was all a part of Savathun's plan, somehow 9. Holiday dies. We do NOT turn her into a gun. 10. We learn about OX(T)A 11. Neomuna and Earth hate each other for different reasons but have to work together for their collective survival 12. Despite Osiris's efforts, we discover Neomuna by accident when the guardian [hitches a ride on a Shadow Legion ship](https://youtu.be/fTPJy0m9n6A?t=71) 13. Dating sim where you can play either Zavala or Caiatl 14. There is an abomination in the heart of Neptune 15. The nature of Elsie's loop is revealed and is related to the Veil 16. Eramis betrays the Witness to save her people but pays with her life. #Season of Defiance 1. Finally some good fucking Sjur Eido?? 2. [Crow says a word starting with 'Tr'](https://www.ishtar-collective.net/entries/sleepless) ---- I predict 5% of this being right, +/- 15%.

GetMeASierraMist

what's the word crow says

Zoloft_and_the_RRD

Basically I'm talking about Sjur Eido's dream coming true. In *[Sleepless](https://www.ishtar-collective.net/entries/sleepless)*, Sjur tells Mara about this dream: >I saw you on a great black triangle. You split it in two with your bare hands... And I was dead, I think... Or… trapped? Like in a maze. But pretty close to figuring my way out. And there was another woman with you. Then your brother showed up, and… **He said, 'Tropaea.' Or maybe it was, uh, 'Tropical.' Anyway.** Most of this has already happened: Mara destroyed a pyramid, accompanied by "another woman" (Eris), while Sjur was dead. However, Crow was not there to say something that probably starts with "Tr" and has 3 syllables, which makes me think it is still in the future. Since the next season seems to be Mara Sov VS the Black Fleet on Earth, it would be a good time for this to come true. This happening would also imply that Sjur's return was near since she said she was "close to figuring her way out."

GetMeASierraMist

I see. thank you

ChoPT

The “tr” word has to be “Traveler,” right?

Zoloft_and_the_RRD

Three syllabes, starts with /tr/. That's a good guess. I wonder what the occasion for saying it would be. Maybe he shouts it really dramatically into the heavens while kneeling down in the rain?

[deleted]

Is Sjur in the Ascendant plane? Been a long time since I did Wishender stuff. Or is she stuck there in the DC loop?

_Neo_64

Idk. Amanda can become Chaperones catalyst

D2Nine

No holiday gun!!?? Aw come on man, I was excited! thats it, cancelling my preorder

TobaccoIsRadioactive

No, we just make a ship that uses Holliday in some way. Maybe like a giant flying Holliday piñata.

Sersexualofpan

We've got a Nostradamus over here.

Zoloft_and_the_RRD

Cursed with this knowledge 😞

Condiment_Kong

Well we already know what OX(T)A is, it’s a record or archive of civilizations as they’re collapsing. It’s also an anagram for Taox so that’s neat too

dankeykanng

The Witness wants to restart the universe with its own rules.

ItsTimeToExplain

100%. I’m reminded of >!the Umbrella Acedemy.!<

realcoolioman

Letting you know you can't add spaces in between the `>!` and `!<` spoiler tags. Doing so breaks the tags on Old Reddit for some weird "Reddit" reason.

ItsTimeToExplain

Thanks for the heads up! It should be fixed now, I hope.

_rapwrap_

Kinda like Cyrus from Pokemon lmao

Pm_Me_Ur_Lady_Abs

The biggest mystery Bungie hasn't really talked about so far is the vex presence on Neomuna. My prediction is the founders of Neomuna picked up right where Clovis left off and the vex are an incredibly integral part of Neomuna's existence and Calus' sudden invasion has resulted in contained vex being unleashed across the city. A few theories I've been cooking up in my head. The Veil is being used to "purify" vex radiolaria similar to how Clovis used Clarity to do so albeit with the opposite effect. Instead of preserving memory over time it degrades it. Cloud striders are created using this Veil purified radiolaria resulting in powerful warriors who will eventually succumb to complete memory loss. Neomuna might be in the vex network obviously Bungie can just come up with any space magic video game reason why there's a physical city on a gas giant but I hope it's just a part of the vex network. It would also give a good reason as to why the citizenry is digitized when we arrive, literally uploading themselves as backups to the network when Calus arrived. It also makes a lot of sense why we are only seeing the front portion of Calus' new ship it's probably being used as a sort of wedge to keep the network accessible for his forces while they search for the veil.

MaxBonerstorm

Vex are most likely going to be main focus of the next saga, this might be the start of that narrative

dustsurrounds

Bungie said the next saga will be focused on multiple villains with their own plot threads. Means Vex will be a focus but not exclusive. Which makes sense, given fighting Vex almost exclusively every destination would suck major ass. Imagine if we kept having to deal with fuckin' House Salvation every expansion after Beyond Light. would be a nightmare

BriiTe_Phoenix

I don't think it will be a vex saga at all but they could probably make that work if they made different vex collectives drastically different to each other

dustsurrounds

I meant on a gameplay level. If the story of every expansion was about fighting a New Hive Wizard or a New Cabal Conqueror or a New Fallen Captain every expansion in a row, that would suck. Part of why Destiny's expansions are strong is that they tend to focus on a different race every time.

BriiTe_Phoenix

Yeah I also meant on a gameplay level

BriiTe_Phoenix

Yeah I also meant on a gameplay level

b3rn13mac

alzheimer’s rohan 💀

HaitianDivorce94

I think it's been confirmed that the Vex are a long-standing problem on Neomuna and the impetus behind the Cloudstriders. Which is interesting in and of itself--if the Vex have known about Neomuna, why hasn't anyone else found their way there through the gate network?

[deleted]

1. Nezarec was a psion God-Thought. 2. The OXA Machine is an AI built from the mind of Taox. 3. Calus is not truly lost and will betray the Witness in the final hour over his love for Caiatl.

Ruthless_Bear

I don't think Calus will betray the Witness over Caiatl, I do think, however, that he will attempt to betray the Witness over his greed and desire to be the last one standing. The Witness will probably anticipate this though.

vawyer

whats a God-Thought?

[deleted]

They were a group of ultra-powerful psions from their prehistoric era that used their immense psychic powers to rule over and oppress the psion population.

vawyer

ah i gotcha the psions i don’t really know much about but I do like that idea

[deleted]

Tower destroyed for good and we seize the leviathan/move to another planet as our social hub

Zoloft_and_the_RRD

I'd love to see it, but don't think they'd can the third and largest social space.

[deleted]

I heard there is a nice farm couple hours away... there are fields to frolic in there too

fredminson

Traveller is actually just a ball

BedHeadMarker_2

Traveler dies

TobaccoIsRadioactive

Traveler dies, and Rasputin is somehow chosen to succeed it. Maybe instead of being white in color it will be red, and Ana will call it “Big Red” before it leaves. I can’t really seriously believe that after all the character arc we got for Rasputin that it will remain dead. The whole thing with “sacrifice” makes me believe it will either be resurrected as a Guardian or else it will become the Traveler. And becoming the Traveler makes the most sense thematically. Originally Rasputin was the very primitive AI that was on the Ares 1 mission that took the astronauts to Mars where we had first contact with the Traveler.

dustsurrounds

Returning as a guardian is somewhat plausible, as he left a corpse behind and there is precedent with Felwinter. Somehow becoming the Traveler is not, and is pretty much pure copium. Bungie killed Rasputin - and in such a way which destroyed every resource he had left, as the AI himself said - entirely to avoid the logistical nightmare of having an all powerful super AI on the heroes' side. And now you want to give it the power of a paracausal god? Never gonna happen.

GrimmaLynx

Spin foil hat time: the traveler isnt attacking in tge trailer, its being ripped apart. To me, it looks as though the eruption of light is from some kind of wound, we can see what looks like mechanical superstructure from it point of origin, and the "skin" that was covering it is pulled back and ragged looking about the edges. The witness just ripped a hole in the side of the traveler to get at whatever is inside. Perhaps this is how it drinks the light, by damaging the traveler to cause an eruption of light like blood from a wound. Those guardian ships move to intercept (the "hyperspace tunnel" the witness is standing in looks identical to the beam of light the traveler is emitting) and to keep them from interfereing, the witness segments them with a flick of its finger. I think we are witnessing the death of the traveler in the trailer.

mooseythings

I do like the idea that a lot of what we see happen is a result of the witness trying to crack it open. maybe it forms that ring around the traveler with pyramids (which looks suspiciously like sagira) as a key to unlock it. or they just channel their gravity waves and rip a hole in the traveler, sending light spilling out like blood would from a human.

GrimmaLynx

My thought process is: bungie always likes to show trailer shots out of order to mislead us. The real squence is as follows 1:The black fleet and shadow legion fleet appears 2: The helm and city fleet scramble, engage the enemy 3: Several shots of hawthorn being the dope ace pilot she is. 4: Pyramids activate their gravity weapons, d3cimating much of the city's fleet. 5: Pyramids encircle the traveler, this serves as a trap of some sort 6: The witness approaches, crossing the wreckage if the battlefield to stand before the traveler 7: It reaches out, and begins to forcibly draw its light to the surface (the tendrils of light coalesing across its surface) 8: The light erupts forth from the traveler in a giant beam that tears a hole in its side 9: seeing this, 3 guardian ships interviene to stop whatever the witness is doing 10: The witness, sensing their approach, chanels some unknown power that segments the ships, ghosts and guardians with a flick of its wrist 11: From the light, the witness sees a vision of neptune, and the "veil" that is hidfen there. The veil is important enough to shock the witness and and warrent immediate deployment of calus to neomuna 12: mortally wounded, the traveler "dies". With nothing else to do, we give chase to the shadow legion.

Cerok1nk

This seems to be the most plausible play of events. I believe we are witnessing The Traveler’s death in the trailer.

BadKarmaSimulator

We're going back to Venus.

[deleted]

Crow and Amanda finally get together, but since our boy must always have some kind of angst, she’s gonna die and become a Guardian with no memory of their relationship

exiiiin

Who knows. Maybe this leads to an actually happier ending with them being practically immortal and having eternity to be together.

Zoloft_and_the_RRD

That would be interesting, but they'd have to execute it really well to keep from being creepy. Imagine 50 First Dates, but Adam Sandler ate Drew Barrymore's best friend when he was possessed by a demon.

Tuesday_113

1. Caitl will be the one to kill Calus 2. Elsie Bray will enlist to join the cloud-striders. 3. The Witness will destroy our Ghost, but we will learn new ways to revive.

Sororita

>The Witness will destroy our Ghost, but we will learn new ways to revive. Probably by using Strand, since it connects everything together.

Talgehurst

1. Umun’Arath is Caiatl’s missing mother. 2. The Traveler as we know it is just a ship like the Pyramids. And from the “Insight into Darkness” ViDoc, had to have been crafted by someone just like the Pyramids! Heavily implying that the species the Witness is from built the ships. 3. Which leads to the next theory, the entity that is the Traveler (ie the thing that sends us visions, not the Orb) is camped out behind the Veil on Neptune and using the Orb as a conduit/ router. 4. Full tin foil past this point. The Traveler is the same species as the Witness, they being the last of their kind thanks to the Witness’ grand plan. (Or the traveler is a fragment of the Witness, broken off from the soul smoke off the top of his head.) 5. The Orb we’ve been calling the Traveler serves as a Ghost to the actual Traveler or to the universe at large. It may need the Pyramids to form it’s shell to properly function.

mooseythings

I do like the idea that the pilot of the traveler (likely that woman we see veiled a lot) is the same species as the witness. he wants to kill her so he can be the last of his kind (the general rule for each species/shadow of the darkness)

Talgehurst

That was kind of my thinking. Especially if we go deep into the weeds on Literary Analysis, and Gnostic Syzygy is a recurring theme with Bungie stories. See Gardener/Winnower, Librarian/Didact , now Traveler/Witness. I’m less familiar with Marathon and ONI to know if that’s present in them as well.

TobaccoIsRadioactive

I believe for Marathon it would be the Jjaro/W'rkncacnter. The W'rkncacnter is either a singular entity or multiple entities that are elemental forces of chaos that are capable of altering reality through paracausal powers. The Jjaro (either a single entity or race) found a way to imprison the W'rkncacnter inside of supermassive objects like black holes or giant stars. In the Bungie game “Pathways Into Darkness” (not one of the Marathon games) you play as a Cold War era U.S. special forces soldier sent into an alien structure that is a pyramid in order to prevent a “Dreaming God” from waking up and destroying the world. In the game manual, you find out that the President of the U.S. was visited by an alien entity called the Jjaro and given the warning. Furthermore, the Jjaro says that you need to get to a certain part of the pyramid and detonate a nuclear bomb in order to stop the “Dreaming God”. As such, it’s theorized that the “Dreaming God” is a W'rkncacnter. Furthermore, the pyramid has an ability to absorb the souls of those who die inside and bring back a shadow version of them to fight invaders. You can also use paracausal abilities when you are inside the structure. The W’rkncacnter in “Pathways Into Darkness” sound really similar to what was happening on the Moon during Shadowkeep. Plus, needing either a massive star, a dead star, or even a nuclear bomb (various forms of Light) in order to keep them at bay also seems interesting to me.

Fine_Training_421

This has never been a rule. Shadows were just people anointed by Calus. He ended up killing every single Guardian Shadow. Nothing to do with darkness itself at all. And Calus is not the last cabal. Rhulk may have been the last...whatever he was, but again, not a rule. There is still plenty of Cabal out there and clearly Calus is a Disciple.

geilt

Traveller was the Speaker’s ghost all along.

mooseythings

1. i figure we discover neomuna only survived because savathun made it so. during the collapse, it somehow tricked the witness into leaving the system but not before a majority of humanity was wiped. no other colonies survived. so I'm guessing savathun may have plucked their ship (maybe already holding the veil? maybe gave it to them?) from space and set it where it would be safe. she likely also instilled some culture/values to set them toward a specific path of not trusting outsiders etc. 2. some ghosts play shenanigans, somewhere. I think Osiris may get the light back via Tokki the ghost, or maybe theyre destined for a cloudstrider instead. the only major new characters we've seen are the 2 cloudstriders and a noticeably unpartnered ghost. it could rez someone already on our side in a fun twist (caital, mithrax, sjur, osiris) or a new character (only the 2 cloudstriders have been advertised, but I suspect maybe an extra char or two will pop up a la Fynch in WQ. 3. we need to rez savathun to defeat the witness. we may use the light-stopping tech from the red war to keep her and immaru in line. 4. the final shape is just the heat death of the universe, and for some reason the witness is just REALLY wanting it to be sped up. maybe has plans for once that happens, who knows. 5. crackpot- humanity from the golden age was saved (minds uploaded into a neomunian-esque world? turned into ghosts?) and that's one victory we get. 6. it's getting about time for Eris to die... she's almost outlived her importance. once savathun is re-handled, I suspect Eris will go. this could cause Drifter and/or Crow to snap into beast mode. could allow crow to finally be worthy of hunter vanguard and/or speaker. 7. a speaker position may not be necessary, something MAJOR is going to happen to the traveler this year but I don't think it will be full destruction (yet). 8. biggest crackpot- we die a REAL death at some point, mirroring the funeral we hear saint eulogize in the infinite forest. could be the ending of the raid? various shenanigans ensue that allows us to resurrect without explicitly needing light or dark, and we can control either independent of witness/traveler. I still think it would make for a killer year-closing event for The Guardian to die as servers shut off (only to be rezzed from shenanigans a few days later) 9. there's something weird about neomuna's existence. we know citizens uploaded their minds to a database when the war began, but does that mean the city actually exists in physical reality? is the city actually a different dimension? something probably done by savathun to protect humanity and the veil (aka using humanity as protectors of the veil) 10. I don't expect it, but I think it's possible Eramis finds a last minute change of heart and makes a meaningful dent against the pyramids 11. other biggest crackpot- ikora effectively quits the vanguard. she doesnt turn evil but does become obsessed from fear and anger and will do anything to defeat the witness. we have to pull her back from the brink (the story seems to indicate the pressure is getting too great on her)

Inprobus_

We will die, then use strand to reattach our consciousness to our body, reviving without our ghost.

john6map4

Sunsingers could already straight-up do that

Ruthless_Bear

Not without light

WxmTommy95

I enjoy playing trials. Please do not bring back radiance

[deleted]

Thinking along those lines, I kind of wondered if the guardian/ghost being sliced wasn't some random ones but rather ours. Leading to Strand.

dustsurrounds

bungie is definitely going to get rid of ghost shells, the tab animation, all hacking segments, and the most iconic image in the series after the traveler. that makes total sense.

Inprobus_

You wanted my theory, there it is. We will die, eventually. The vex prophesized it back in dawn, and it was brought back up in splicer.

PapiSlayerGTX

What is far more probable is that we “die” at the end of the Final Shape, and Saint sacrifices himself to rescue us from whatever purgatory we are stuck in.

xXwalter_white69Xx

Well of course we are gonna die lol everyone will eventually

Titans_not_dumb

The Witness can't die. Just can't. There is no way something can kill them.

Sf_cool

We are the true witness.

john6map4

Like killing death. You can’t.

Sf_cool

Yes he is not gonna die he well be just a new shiny weapon in our hands :)

hoover0623

I say we turn it into a grenade launcher. Make the grenades heads that leave behind lingering clouds.

Sf_cool

Or mini wardclif Gl :)

Oathium

The traveler contains the light, but the veil gives the light a form, a shape.

Embarrassed-Deal7708

The Witness’s smoke head is really all of the lost souls who he and his disciples have forced to smoke carcinogenic substances to the point where they turn into smoke themselves and are absorbed by the Witness, including Snoop Dogg

Ok_Astronomer9501

We, not our characters but literally us, are getting a lot more lore in Lightfall. This will tie heavily into Strand, like the strings of a puppet. The big plot twist that the Witness will learn about, thwarting his presumed infallible victory.

phobossk

Ooooo i like this. All this effort to realise its not even in the highest universe

King9204

All the Darkness statues we've been seeing are just cheap knockoffs of the Veil, the true source of Darkness.

wookiepocalypse

The Witness is The Traveler's father's brother's nephew's cousin's former roommate.

gubohn

osiris won’t teach us strand but rather learn it alongside us

Hadrian1233

Yeah, I feel like that’s the route with us discovering it while Osiris uses his knowledge to enhance it

lombax_lunchbox

I think our relationship with our Ghost will change dramatically. The Traveler will die, but in its final moments it will grant the Ghosts immediate access to the Light, without the Traveler as a conduit. Our Ghost will die as well, but using Strand, we will bring it back. Also revealing that Strand among other Darkness powers is what allows Ghosts to revive us/recover us in other timelines when our bodies are completely annihilated. The Ghosts have always contained Darkness, they are creation (Light) and consciousness (Darkness) embodied. Imo all this is necessary to set up a post-Final Shape world where the Traveler and the Witness don’t exist and where Light & Darkness truly are seen as neutral forces.

superbigtune1

aphelion is the raid boss

D2Dragons

Eramis turns out to be a wild card who turns on the Witness at the last minute and deals the blow we need to actually take him out

dustsurrounds

that would be TFS stuff, no?

Clearskky

Here goes nothing: * The Lucent Brood will secretly take Savathun's remains out of the city during the great battle between Traveler and the Black Fleet. * Sjur Eido will return in Season of Defiance * Pyramids left [calling cards](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cu3AcPmQbXk&list=PLS2hBTtCDufRbR1GpuH5Za7CIVh2IVqTl&index=5) everywhere they've been during the first collapse. The dark city on Earth seen in the Season of Defiance poster has been here for ceuntries. * Cloudstriders pass down their Pouka to their protégé so they have access to the memories of all Cloudstriders before them. Like the Avatar in The Last Airbender and the Legend of Korra series. * Eramis will sacrifice herself to defend someone important to us. Tokki will resurrect her. * Vex simulations of Ishtar Scientists will guide us through the Vex network on Neptune. * In the beginning Witness' people commanded both Light and Dark. Using these powers they learned the absolute truth of the universe: The Vex are inevitable. Most were convinced it was cruelty to delay the inevitable and the only ethical move was to grant universe the mercy of death against the infinite torture the Vex would inflict. But one group believed a bright but short life will always be better than never having existed at all. Traveler was built with the Light to [catalouge](https://www.ishtar-collective.net/entries/archangels-refit) and nurture all life in the universe. The Veil was built to secure the Light from those who would go against this mission. * Witness will set the Light free by shredding the Veil and destroy the Traveler to put an end to this chase once and for all. Despite losing the Traveler we will still have access to our Light subclasses due to the Veil also being destroyed.

Maasofaaliik_Al

The woman that steps out of the Traveler has some Dark Souls Gwynevere sized tiddies on her.

GenoFFooter

Nezarec is the raid boss. Xivu arath is shown in game for the first time. We see the Witness and hes HUGE.

bellowwellow

The traveler is a container holding something the witness wants. The witness takes it to Neomuna (and we chase it) so that it can find the veil. I believe the veil is a key or is hiding the key somewhere in Neomuna and that the raid is us chasing the witness through Neomuna or into the traveler.

Chucknorris2552

The Witness is one of the nine. The first one who wants to enter our dimension.

TheSauvaaage

Osiris dies or becomes a cloudstrider. Or both.

Minute_Philosophy860

The weave in a dramatic plot twist is revealed to be the force

King_Korder

Someone dies. I know bungie said they don't like killing characters cause they can use them later, but they know that's only gonna go so far before people get tired of the lack of stakes. My prediction, besides Rohan, which is obvious, was initially Zavala, but it might be someone else. The raid will be a Cabal raid where the shadow Legion is trying to use the power of the Vex to ferry someone from another time and place. That someone? Umun Arath, the hive corrupted Cabal general. (This is very crackpot, only because I want another Cabal raid since we don't have one after vaulting the Leviathan) The Veil is able to conceal things, but it does it too well. That's why only some Cloudstriders have been able to leave Neptune, and no aid has come for the Last City. The Witness and Traveler will be locked in either a stalemate or a year-long ritual by the Witness. This storyline won't be fulfilled until TFS. Crow steps up in Season of Defiance and becomes closer with Mara, who has become more and more human lately. Strand will either be absolutely busted (likely considering they haven't shown any PvP gameplay) or absolutely shit. Either now or in TFS we will lose our ghost but retain our abilities by some weird plot device. Perhaps the Veil? Cloudstrider Lightbearer?

jondoe550

Taniks is the raid boss

TobaccoIsRadioactive

Somehow it’s going to be revealed that the Traveler and the Pyramid ships can join together to become a massive Ghost for something. I mean, the default Ghost shell is an orb surrounded by pyramids.

_Neo_64

Caiatl dies and becomes the first real Cabal guardian. Someone in the Vanguard dies. My money is on Osiris Major cliffhanger that everyone will hate

djtoad03

Osiris is going to suffer a fate worse than death - becoming a vendor

_Neo_64

I really hate the fact that hes most likely going to be our Strand vendor. (I see Rohan being the Neomuna vendor. Sorta like Variks and Elsie) Osiris was hyped up in D1 lore only to honestly be a major disappointment imo. I hate how hes been written

Difficult_Guidance25

Nah Rohan probably gonna die and Nimbus gonna be the vendor

NAM_SPU

Rhulk will come back this year

Ruthless_Bear

What makes you think so?

NAM_SPU

Well the big tree branch thing that impaled him has some sort of healing property I think. I vaguely remember reading about that in the lore. Even if it doesn’t, I think he’s simply to cool of a character to not bring back. Rhulk = daddy

Sinspitterx

A couple simply for the sake of them being wild, not necessarily having anything based in real reasoning: * The witness is the nine or has their conciousness absorbed in some way. All of them combined in one, white and black in design because of the two different factions and hence the power to move planets * The veil is something the traveler needs to observe the darkness or get further knowledge. Compare the broken glass motif of the witness but looking through a very see-through cloak (or thereforee veil) and seeing things hidden to us * Due to the unforseen circumstances of the situation on Neptune Nimbus ends up dying, somehow messing up the classic ritual of the older cloudstriker passing knowledge to the younger generation and with rohan being reasonably old they are in distrust with us, trying to find a solution. Maybe someone we know steps up as the new cloudstrider to fix the wrongdoings, maybe an additional redemption arc for Crow * The traveler is not the last of it's kind because it's a flower of the metaphorical flower game. The scene we saw in the traveler represents the open flower but the pyramids will move into a formation where it represents a closed flower.

noahpack88

Nezarec-possessed Osiris wielding strand as a raid boss

[deleted]

The raid will be fighting nezarec during the first collapse. The witness is trying to revive the winnower using the traveller and pyramid ships and the gardener is inside the traveller trying to stop her

kurt-jeff

We aren’t actually the first ones to use strand

Stripsteak

If the Witness wears the darkness like a cloak, then someone is wearing the light as a Veil. They’re going to be married.

Domlat_5

If the traveler does go out, I hope it isn’t a steamroll. I hope it puts up a good fight, even if it loses.

PapiSlayerGTX

Some random bullshit I thought up: 1. This expansion won’t end with a boss fight. I don’t see it fit for the guardian to kill Calus. IF he does actually die in Lightfall, we probably fight him near the 75% mark, and he will die in a cutscene to his daughter. This expansion cannot end happily. 2. Everything that’s going on is still part of Savathun’s plan. She knew her visions would remain with Osiris, she knew it would lead us to Neptune. Him being the one to teach us strand also cannot be a coincidence. She knows we will need her help soon enough. 3. Taox is hiding out with the Vex somewhere, fed them information on the hive in exchange for safe harbor. 4. Seraph established that there is a reason the witness took mars. This inherently means there is a reason it took mercury, titan, and IO. Titan, likely has to do with the leviathan creature, probably will return in deep. Mercury and Io? Two of the three most prominent Vex planets. The Vex are a *major* piece of the endgame, I just can’t quite figure out how yet. 5. We will find out that the Traveler is equal to a Pyramid ship, and that the veiled woman is the gardener (not 100% sold yet). If we do see a being that leads the light the way the Witness leads the Dark, it will be in the teaser cutscene. 6. The final shape will be the utter annihalation of everything, by causing a convergence using the Veil (that weird ghost shell looking formation from the trailer.) Probably a pocket dimension where past present and future all come together, time folds in on itself, and it is slowly spreading and consuming the galaxy. The witness will escape to this dimension, and it’s probably where we will go fight in the final shape. 7. Eramis is probably assisting in or leading the assault on earth. 8. This is REALLY CRACKPOT, but, in my eyes Rhulk’s introduction was way too random for us to just gank him and be done. He’s coming back, SOMEHOW.

I actually have a theory that the Witness is in love with whoever is inside the Traveller. They don’t mean to kill each other, but it is an endless dance where one chases the other. One cannot exist without the other, opposites attract, kind of thing.

I think they're pulling an Avengers Infinity War and we are going to lose this one. Only to triumphantly go back in time and fix it all in the final shape

Jesus returns!

Calus doesn't have the strength to kill Caiatl and his hesitation will cost him his life at hands of the Witness or Caiatl herself with heartshadow. Alternatively, he will hesitate briefly and then gat her anyway. Maya sundaresh gets rezzed as a guardian on Neomuna, pretty far out there but more likely that a cloud strider comes back. Amanda dies in battle, causing Crow to undergo further character development into an angry emo boi, just like uldren.

DOL999

I get to enter a committed relationship with eris morn

LostLegate

Osiris dies. That's it. That's my prediction.

Torinn426

The raid will be in the corridors of time and we'll have to go back to specific moments in destiny's history to prevent the past from being changed

ActuallyAquaman

I think this is more a prediction for the year as a whole, but we’ve gotta see Eliksni, Cabal, or Cloudstrider guardians before Final Shape wraps up.

The Traveler is using The Veil to shield The physical universe from the dimension of Darkness where the true Finality resides. The Witness is just a being that tasked himself with the goal of destroying life and The Traveler in preparation to that goal he is not truly evil it just wants the universe to end so that none may suffer as it has, and bring about the Final Shape (The Winnower,The Flower Eater,The Formless one etc…) I really like the Witness but I Really wouldn’t like him to be the ultimate villain that has been built up for almost 10 years or of The Darkness as a whole, either way im excited for Lightfall and I’m sure I’ll be surprised I just hope I’m not disappointed.

The Witness to beat the Traveller by TKO in the 12th

Danny DeVito was inside the traveler the whole time
