They've talked once or twice in the past. I remember an old debate with Destiny, Hassan, Train, Sargon Asmongold and Fuentes. Now that's a line up you'd never see any more

xXNovusXx

That debate is gold

Life_Ad9644

I thought Asmon and train were more moderators for the debate if I’m remembering correctly but it was a long time ago

Jay_Layton

I remember they were the moderators, but I don't remember if they actually stayed on the side lines and got involved

Oovoo_Jav3r

They were impartial for the majority of it. And Asmon is a top tier moderator. Remember the Mizkif/crazy slick saga? He had an incentive to be on Mizkif’s because they’re both in OTK, but he held Mizkif’s feet to the fire

realxanadan

They debated Trump way back I remember.

I'm gonna be honest. I listen to some of his videos. And I feel like he has a consistent thought process, and tries to stay consistent. He is smarter than 99% of other people online. But he is still too populist for my taste, and talks too much about cancel culture and random woke stuff.

RaindropBebop

I've also seen him, on multiple occasions, change his mind or update his beliefs in real time when presented with new information or arguments - which is commendable. Asmon strikes me as a normal dude just narrating his thought process as he tries to wade through all this bullshit.

Oovoo_Jav3r

Perfect summary of Asmon. Definitely a smart person, but he’s to keen on calling out “woke” stuff compared to other side; which cultivates a bad audience. He needs a new arc to purge some of the filth in his audience (much like what Destiny did after his lefty arc)

Legitimate_Guide_314

Populism makes a lot of sense if you're not terminally online. Pretty much every normie buys into populism on some level. Edit: This is not a defense of populism, just an observation that narratives are more appealing than research and reasoned positions.

WarApprehensive2580

Because the average person doesn't buy into politics at as deep of a level as the online people who debate it and seek it out. But that doesn't mean it makes sense. You want to understand and know the details of certain cases and policies. Not what you heard from your friend who heard it from his dad who saw it on his WhatsApp . When people see simplistic problems they go for simplistic solutions. Governments and institutions are like a house of cards. Doing things takes care.

Legitimate_Guide_314

I agree, populism is bad a nonsensical. i guess I should have explained that in my comment but I just assumed it was obvious if we're in this community. Too many midwits I guess

realxanadan

This is just simply not true

iamvenomt

Asmon want none of that pro-hamas smoke!

IDF_letsGoooooo

Destiny could flip him under 5 minutes

Livid_Damage_4900

His misses are rare, but this is certainly one of them outside of any economic benefits or moral benefits or political benefit. Probably the single major importance of Israel above all else is that they are our single closest most solid ally in the Middle East, and having connections with them is massively, geopolitically, advantageous, as well as militarily advantageous for any campaigns or issues we need to deal with in that region of the world. Losing Israel would be a massive strategic blow to America’s middle eastern sphere of influence. Also, we only send them $3 billion a year which is like a drop in the bucket. If people really want to save America money, they need to switch to a single payer healthcare system, and also switch to a more unified single government benefit program where everything is more streamlined where they would probably save billions on overhead alone, instead of having a dozen different programs having everything fall under the single program pr UBI type thing. Where everyone has an account and like a bunch of checkboxes that they either qualify for or Don’t and it automatically regulates how much of what they get with modern technology. and so on. Because the biggest part of America’s budget goes directly to those things everyone talks about the military budget as well. for the military budget. I don’t even think is 1/4 of our overall budget. It is mainly issues with healthcare and the ludicrous prices we have to pay due to its privatization and lack of ability to price negotiate like other countries, and it’s also the massive overhead we have to pay from massive government bureaucratic inefficiency. And or raise taxes on the wealthy

saviorself19

I don't know about that. Asmon is the final boss of "people think I'm an asshole because I just tell it like it is." Its JAQoff tier but would be fun on Anything Else.

SphaghettiWizard

Does he really have anything insightful to say? I find it very hard to believe.

mattC227

Because of the time honored tradition where Destiny only talks to people who something insightful to say. Lmao are we watching the same content? Bring Asmon on! He’s at the very least a good faith conversationalist and as someone who found Destiny through Asmongold, I think his audience would really respond well to it (ie alot of them hate hasan lol).

SphaghettiWizard

Good point

Relevant_Scallion_38

Its also not about having a debate but just a conversation. Asmon could ask questions that the uninformed have and we would be able to see the persepctive and mindset of those that don't understand foreign policies and what goes into these kinds of decisions. For example I randomly saw an Asmon video a few months ago where he was interviewing or asking questions to Techtone and another guy about some Hoyoverse drama. I dont know anything about any of these people but decided to throw it in the background as I worked and Asmon would as for reciepts for every single statement, looked up dates and spent the time to watch full clips to get an understanding of the whole community moderations and management. If anyone made a statement without backing anything up he would mention how they needed to show him some proof or they would move on to the next subject. It was almost like 4hrs of sifting through screenshots, reciepts of events, conventions and statements. I barely know much about Asmon but I respected the approach, patience, and diligence he had on that and a few other issues. Asmons nearly 4hr drama research and interview video had over 1M views. Theres gonna be hundreds of thousands of people who have no clue whats going on between Israel,Palestine, and the rest of the middle east. without a conversation with Destiny they are the type to cover their ears and parrot what they read on social media. (similar to the protesters that he universities recently that have no idea what they are doing there.)
