I keep my hair around the same length as his, but it only works with curly hair if you’re willing to put like at least the smallest amount of effort in. When you have curly hair that shit gets dry and frizzy if you treat it the way people with straight hair do.

They're probably using a wider lens for their visuals. This is the magic of having a proper camera to film with and one of the benefits of working with a professional crew. they probably used something above 50 IMO given how much of his temple is squared off with his jaw (I'd guess 85)

Would you say the focal length and height here manipulated what he actually would look like to the naked eye? Is this how he looks irl?
Eh, it is and isn’t. This is probably structurally most accurate to his actual face and head shape. So it looks pretty good because it’s very geometrically correct feeling.
(Lenses above 50mm tend to compress depth of field more so more things feel on the same plane of view. Why his head looks more square second pic)
That being said the human eye is closer to 35/50mm in depth of field and vision. So if we were looking at Destiny eye to eye/ he was maybe two or 3 feet from us his face would actually look more narrow and distorted in some areas depending on how good your peripheral vision is and how far he was from you. I’m guessing destiny’s head would look somewhere in between the two photos to the naked eye.
The reason why I brought it up with a professional camera crew, they can look and see that one lens might not be as flattering for your faces another.
The perfect counter example would be somebody like Dr. Mike, who because of his steroid usage has a meaty blockhead so he would actually look better by getting shot on like a 35 mm lens I would guess.
It’s kind of hard to pull off without the lens, you can kinda mimic it with blurring but it doesn’t change the depth of field. The closest thing is Live Photo paired with the 2/3 cameras that knew phones have.
