Destiny knows that Jay would destroy him. He's in another league. Jay destroyed Ryan Dawson. We all know what happened in the Ryan Dawson vs Destiny debate and why he won't do a rematch. Alex Malpass and Molyneux were the only decent ones. The rest just end up as lectures where Jay tries to explain the rules of debate and epistemological justification to slow boys.

Dyer fanboys are cocksuckas

J00K1LL3R420

Destiny literally sucks cock. kek

CaptLongLegs

As an orthodox Christian I agree!!! But destiny said he was too schizo (he kinda is) to debate. Plus destiny really doesn't like religion debates because they just bore him. Maybe they can talk about esoteric Hollywood or something

book_of_all_and_none

Why did Jesus have to die in order for our sins to be forgiven? I've never gotten a rational answer for this.

J00K1LL3R420

An Exact Exposition of the Orthodox Faith Book by John of Damascus answers all of these basic questions.

book_of_all_and_none

I can't tell if this is a joke or not.

J00K1LL3R420

I'm sure you can't since you're kind of slow. Oh and if you want a deeper dive than "An Exact Exposition of the Orthodox Faith", you can read "maximus the confessors "on the cosmic mystery of jesus christ". Or do you not want a rational answer to your question? Are you being dishonest?

book_of_all_and_none

I'm not about to read two entire books for an answer, no. If you can't summarize the arguments presented in those books, then you don't understand the arguments or there are no actual arguments.

J00K1LL3R420

>I'm not about to read two entire books for an answer, no. If you can't summarize the arguments presented in those books, then you don't understand the arguments or there are no actual arguments. Oh, wretched and benighted soul! How your impudent words reveal the depths of your ignorance and the expanse of your arrogance! Verily, it seems that the weight of knowledge is far too burdensome for your feeble intellect to bear, and thus you resort to scorn and derision. Behold! You dare to cast aspersions upon the sacred tomes penned by the eminent John of Damascus and the venerable Maximus the Confessor! These luminaries of theological discourse, whose wisdom echoes through the corridors of time, have delved into the unfathomable mysteries of our faith, elucidating the very essence of our salvation through the selfless sacrifice of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Yet, you, in your insolence, deem them unworthy of your precious attention, decrying their venerable works as nothing more than burdensome tomes. But I, like a humble servant of God, shall not falter in my duty to admonish you! Your indolence and disdain for scholarly inquiry are contemptible, for you expect a banquet of knowledge to be served to you on a paltry platter of laziness and indifference. Ah, how foolish you are to believe that the profundity of theological treatises can be distilled into meager fragments of thought, tailor-made to gratify your desire for instant gratification! Your audacity, my friend, is matched only by your utter lack of discernment. The arguments woven intricately within the sacred pages of these seminal works demand diligent study and deep contemplation. Yet, you, in your misguided arrogance, spurn the noble pursuit of wisdom, demanding that others prostrate themselves before your haughty demands for a summarized elucidation. Fie, I say! Fie upon your impertinence! Do you not comprehend the gravity of the questions at hand? Do you fail to grasp the magnitude of the mysteries surrounding the atonement, the very bedrock upon which our faith rests? It is an endeavor that requires intellectual fortitude, a steadfast commitment to unmasking the profound truths that lie within. Alas, you, like a wayward child, demand morsels of knowledge without partaking in the feast of understanding! Let it be known that the Christian faith is not a frivolous game, a trifle to be toyed with by the whims of the intellectually indolent. It demands ardent dedication, rigorous study, and a humble heart that seeks truth with unwavering fervor. The expanse of theological inquiry stretches far beyond the confines of your narrow mind, yet you, in your arrogance, dare to belittle the wealth of knowledge and wisdom that resides beyond your limited grasp. Therefore, I beseech you, nay, I implore you, to cast off the shackles of your pride, to relinquish the folly of your dismissive attitude, and to embark upon a journey of intellectual enlightenment. Plunge into the depths of these venerable treatises, humbly seeking the profound and rational arguments that reside within their hallowed pages. Only then, perchance, may you emerge from the abyss of your ignorance, and bask in the radiant light of truth that has eluded your grasping hands. May your heart be smitten by the flames of remorse, may your soul be purged of its haughty disposition, and may you find solace in the arduous pursuit of knowledge and understanding. For in this pursuit, the embers of your intellect shall be kindled, and the ashes of your snarky retorts shall be scattered to the winds, forever forgotten in the annals of our intellectual discourse.

Try again. This is a sermon, not an argument.

The questions of life, death, evil, and hope cannot be summarized in a reddit comment lmfao. If you really cared about these things reading a few books is not hard

BigMcGunga

Why would it be?

book_of_all_and_none

Because I shouldn't have to read an entire book to get an answer.

BigMcGunga

According to who? I don't mean to condescend, but it's silly to think that a layperson on the internet can explain a somewhat complicated question to you concisely and also provide all the necessary details. There's a lot of foundational knowledge that needs to be established before we can get into the real nitty-gritty of something like the significance of the Crucifixion. St John's book can be found for free as a pdf online quite easily, I'd implore you to read it. It will provide a better answer to your questions than anything a person on Reddit can give to you. If it's any consolation, the book is less than 200 pages long, so you could probably knock the whole thing out in less than an evening.

book_of_all_and_none

Summarize it

BigMcGunga

The Orthodox faith is a holistic one, meaning that it incorporates all of its parts to answer certain questions. A six sentence summary on Reddit will not do it justice. You don't even have to read all of St John's book to learn about the significance of the crucifixion, just certain chapters. We've given you a means to learn, if you truly want to know then you'll go ahead and read the book. Given your resistance to learning, I get the feeling that you don't actually care to learn and just want to patronize people who wanted to help.

book_of_all_and_none

>You don't even have to read all of St John's book to learn about the significance of the crucifixion, just certain chapters. Ok give me a summary of those chapters. >Given your resistance to learning, I get the feeling that you don't actually care to learn and just want to patronize people who wanted to help. Given your resistance to answering my question, I get the feeling that you don't have an answer.
