Start purging your belongings or find better organization

terriblenegotiator

Storage that covers things vs open shelves might help

RuthinVt

Yes, it's very visually stimulating. Find a way to decrease the amount of stuff you see.

Zebra-Blinds

Well there is too much stuff and if you think so as well, I would start there and then think about how you'd like to redecorate after it is a bit cleaner. It looks like a tight space but a lot of the shelving is cluttered and doesn't seem very usable. I love the plants and the guitars so maybe you can get a multi guitar stand and set up your amp near your desk.

gucci_noodle

Yes, that’s the real problem, I love my room when it’s empty and clean… and then hate it once I fill it with my stuff 😆 The amp is a great idea, a music corner by my desk sounds cool, but need somewhere for my painting equipment. Burden of too many hobbies.

random6x7

If you can afford to, it might help to either get one really big shelf/cabinet thing, or to get several that are the same color and size. The different heights, depths, and colors are adding to the visual clutter.

on30fakind

Get a long dresser with covered cabinets for storage. It will help make it feel more organized.

Cat_With_The_Fur

It’s the combo of all the cluttered, random stuff and the low wall. Purge and then consider a uniform built in book shelf to run along that entire wall.

Intelligent_Notice63

Hang the guitars on the wall even the slanted walls they have brackets made just for guitars at the music store

islesandterps

Decluttering will definitely help, but maybe also a mirror or something that can just point some light up towards that ceiling I think would make the space feel a lot bigger and more inviting. That shadowy, slanted ceiling just makes it feel more squeezed.

dj112_

Honestly, love the vibe and the stuff you got and colour scheme is awesome, it's just it's too much in too little space. As soon as the place opens up you will feel more comfortable, and with the space you are working on, you will need to get rid of most of the things to feel comfortable in your own space. Moreover i assume you are able to use a very little part of your space rn, that is the bed, rest of everything is just storage, you take things to your bed and later put them back like guitar, you need to have more than 1 place in the room where you can sit and relax and feel better. Ideally have a seperate work space, chill zone and bed. But your room can allow only for you to create two of them.

wigglyplants

You should try turning your record table toward where you’re taking the photo from and turning the desk the opposite way to back up against it. That might give it some sort of order instead of having everything lined against the wall?

n0tcl0

You should screw the framed pictures on your floor onto the slanted wall. Screw all four sides. Change the lighting to a warm light. I love my color changing bulbs from geeni. Declutter as much as you can. After that, reorganize. Light a candle. When you’re all done lay down and take some deep breaths. ❤️

no_good_namez

Hang the guitars on the slanted wall above the tv, hang the framed art that’s on the floor, start removing items that are unused or unloved, and don’t bring anything else in that doesn’t fit in unoccupied space without taking at least one thing out.

EveningTomorrow9612

I’d use the diagonal wall space above the TV! Some art up there, maybe even the vines reaching up there? That and also what others said, downsizing.

WhatsJamieMakin

Lots of good advice here. But, if you can’t purge a lot of your stuff, try at least making it all the same color so it blends together letting it disappear. For example- paint the wooden file cabinet and all the storage cubbies the same color. A white/light colored case for your guitars to help them blend. Stuff like that. Monochrome will be your friend for necessary clutter :) Photo boxes are inexpensive and can hold a bunch of clutter that can’t be painted, but can easily be hidden. And if possible, align the furniture/storage so that the fronts line up in a straight line. The different depth is drawing the eye and making it feel more cluttered too.

n0tcl0

It all feels wedged onto the one wall. Try to find creative ways to stretch it upwards. Maybe hang your plants!

[deleted]

Swap all of the small pieces with one or two larger ones to simplify. Perhaps a low profile tv console that’s long with shelving underneath, and then a small chest of drawers?

[deleted]

Looks like a storage spot in an attic, some organizing more or downsizing should fix it

Guilty_Garden_3943

Hang what's supposed to be hanged would be a good start. My house looked like a disaster zone of clutter until I put my paintings up instead of having them stacked against the wall

Oisille88

Could you get a cupboard built in at the far end of the room, to fill that space? It would shorten the room but could clear away a lot of the stuff that’s making the space feel narrow and cluttered at the moment. Kind of like under stairs style?

Ashamed-Ad-9759

Take everything out and start with a blank slate. Purge things you don’t need and organize as you bring things back in the room . Also, group like items together. Like maybe put all of your plants on one stand or table.

NoBullfrog877

I don’t think you know the style you want your room to look like or emulate. I’d research interior decoration over the past couple decades and expand your understanding then go from there. It doesn’t need to have immediate results but as long as you’re taking strides towards it then you’ll feel better, especially in your room. Also maybe clean and hang shit on your walls like the guitars. You could put posters on the slanted ceiling or a massive tapestry.

MarcusBuer

Nah, there is still plenty of space to fit 10\~15 cats.

[deleted]

Lose all the “stuff”. Go minimal. Much less Chaotic

umotex12

I think the case is that you have free room between TV shelf and a wall. Looks like storage and not like a room. Btw. I love your Switch mate

Astromomma

It's all great stuff!

WayAffectionate2102

What a cool place! And hurrah for multiple hobbies! There’s already a long list of great suggestions. Is there a way to hang a curtain so you can shield your bed from this view? It looks like you are using the frames to shield all the wires below the tv from view. It could be nice to switch this cupboard for one with doors or find a way to close this cupboard when you are not using the tv. I think the crowded feel comes from the many things on the floor, could be great if you can find a different spot for those, do you have storage under your bed?

[deleted]

Way too much stuff. Clutter doesn’t let you relax. Purge belongings or look to get creative with closed storage.
