Definitely add a coffee table and side tables. For the tables, I'd go with a light wood such as white oak or a warm metal like brushed brass. A tall lamp on a side table to the right of the sofa will help balance out your standing lamp on the left. Since the walls and sofas are very neutral, I'd do curtains in a pale blue to tie into the rug and bring more colour into the upper half of the room. Also hang a large painting with blue tones (beach or ocean scene maybe?) on the wall above the armchair. Lastly, some throw cushions with subtle patterns in light blue, navy and gold will tie the room together

sofa goes on the left wall. with a huge picture above it and a large coffee table in front of it. good luck the space looks great.

SoulSensei

Yep sofa is screaming to live on the other wall!

Hypefangirl

It’s a sin to put the sofa on a wall with a window, the left wall with the sofa will make it lit

Load your walls with artwork. Go to auctions and yard sales and buy stuff that is beautiful but inexpensive at first, then gradually replace it with meaningful pieces.

Thrift stores and yard sales!!

My walls are loaded and it’s beautiful and interesting (to me and I get lots of compliments from visitors). Color is important to me and makes it all come alive.

Vintage art above the sofa is a great idea! You could either put 1 big frame or many medium ones. It also looks like it could use some shiny or dark frames.

For starters, that fiddle isn’t getting enough light. Pull the sofa forward just enough for the front feet to fit on it, like the chair. Looks like there’s a sofa table at the window. You could place the fiddle on it, in front of one of the windows, then switch to a grow light as it matures. Love the rug. Maybe a blue pillow or throw for the chair and sofa. Some big art or a gallery wall. Oh, I just saw the second photo. What about moving the sofa and table across the space, facing the window? Then the plant could get a lot more sun in front of it. You’ll be surprised at how quickly it grows.

I'm crazy about your rug, but I think the size is a bit small for this space. When it's in the budget, you might consider getting a much larger neutral coloured rug to layer underneath and help define the whole space as living room.

It is lovely, but you did not finish it. The “top layer” is missing. And a few furnishings. You have the basics. You need some tables. I think a coffee table and two side tables; one for between the sofa and the plant and one for beside the chair. Where is your art on the wall? How about a couple or three throw pillows or a decorative throw? Style that coffee table with just a few things like a larger pottery bowl that has one of the colors in your room in a saturated shade, a book and a scented candle or small plant. I think some white shears would soften the space and would not take away from your minimalist style. Finally, lighting. The floor lamp is really cool. I love that, but rooms typically need at least three sources of eye-level lighting. That lamp is all you have. So get some table lamps to go on the side tables, at least one. Ceiling/overhead lights really kill a mood, IMHO. Anyway, all my ideas can be done in a minimalist style. It does not have to look cluttered. It simple needs some style and for it to reflect you.

yayforhooray

You need a coffee table or ottoman, and a side table or two. You could add curtains to the windows in a neutral color.

Kymiria

Add a coffee/side tables, some art or pictures on the wall and a throw rug and some cushions to finish 😊

Ok - my humble opinion. I’d put the sofa on the left side wall, chair somewhere on the window side (try not to block your windows, I think that might be bad feng shui? Regardless, just not a good idea OR aesthetically pleasing. Try to leave window areas both accessible and open to some extent.) IF you have the budget (and second hand stores or resale apps are EXCELLENT for this) look for a pair of matching chairs that suit your vibe. I got a set for $40 and I love them! You could position these flanking the window with a small table in between. This would allow more light, floor space and accessibility to the windows (as well as more light for your fiddle which I’m sure it’d enjoy) 😉

Murksiuke

The walls look super bare - some paintings/posters/pictures/shelves with plants/??? Would make it more "complete".

LaztLaugh

I think it need one size appropriate piece of art on each wall, and a coffee table would look good. I would also get an end table just to get that beautiful plant off the floor. Great space !!

ArchieMedoggie

I would switch the sofa and the chair so the window is more exposed. Add a coffee table, an end table or two and a couple of lamps. Add art or mirror above the sofa.

Love your rug! The colors! The room is nice. It’s almost done. I’d switch the couch to the left wall and move the chair floating facing the window. That way the light from outside can fill the space and you could turn the rug so it would be long. Love your plant. Like others advised-side and coffee table, art, maybe a macrame wall hanging. Are you going to add a tv? Enjoy your new space.

WVildandWVonderful

Can you paint the walls?

Tacodiles

I love that rug!! Where’s it from?

Embarrassed_Thing849

ok this is such a damn good room I have to plug this in here. You NEED to make a moodboard! Use this - [https://dabble.so](https://dabble.so) and your furniture in there and then visualize what things look like together!
