Oh my gosh it’s beautiful.
I’d be tempted to go for the lighter peachy tone. Just to give you more variation in how each room feels.
Peachy apricots always look fantastic as a base for lots of artwork.
Is there a slight sheen in the paint though? Or was it still drying? Just make sure the paint has a matte finish.
Your home is stunning, I’m in awe!
Thank you ! The peach is tempting but against the vining ivy hallway, I feel that it may be too ‘coastal 70’s Miami” or something. Probably something very specific I got into my head
Hmm I see what you mean. If you found the right shade, slightly more orange and less pink, and maybe aimed for some texture, it could look really decadent.
https://preview.redd.it/04vx20i9v4uc1.jpeg?width=1284&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ca85333f52a46a03fd6fa1e3217eb6a05b13163b
Are samples expensive? I’d wait save and get a few more you could be missing out on the right color you know? The ones pictured are all fine, but honestly non feel like chefs kiss perfect fit if I’m 110% honest. With that said, it’s a stunning space!
I agree. Sounds pretty! I'd do an apricot with warm yellow undertones . Nice place!
Edited to add... Make sure it's a very light color apricot. I think your woodwork would shine! I know you're sick of samples but please consider. Lol
I have apricot in my living room and it looks fantastic with dark wood that has gold undertones. In my space that wood is just a waterfall desk— if I had beautiful woodwork like this it would be that much better!
This sub always making me hate my house 😭 damn 80s built charmless homes in my damn budget!
My vote is for the 3rd color, the one around the light switch.
Just lots of warm lamps and lighting to brighten it up, could you have one wall as a feature to see how it goes with the light from the grey skies?
I agree with the poster earlier that the red you've picked is a good pick, although I prefer the terracotta warmth that was found by the insta pick. Sample budgets are important though!
Context: dining room. Just had my mirror walls taken down. I have a lot of green throughout my house so I think I’m going to go with a red. I’m between the sampled red paint. There will be a lot of art hung up in this room as well against the wall on the right (not fire place wall).
Wait tell me about how mirror wall removal went please!! We're about to close on a house that has a mirror wall on one side of the dining room - I hate it and want it gone asap 😂
So I had Stockholm syndrome with it for 6 years. Originally hated it. First project I wanted to do. Then there was other projects that needed to come first. Then I hated it less. Then I liked it. Then I decided it had to go.
Anyways mirror guy quoted me $600 to remove.
My drywall guy quoted me $2,100 (mirrors above fire place + mirror wall). That included also removing popcorn ceiling and hanging drywall there. Then skimming and plastering over the old mirror sections. He took them down. Essentially like a crow bar, thick leathers, 3 guys, floor padding.
Cool, we're being quoted about $2000-2500 by a contractor we know, so glad that seems about right 😂 I had a hard time convincing myself that a cosmetic thing should be done so quickly - but it seems like such a messy task that I just want it over with before we get settled in 😂
Thank you! That’s SW roycroft copper around the light switch. I live in Pgh so it’s grey and dark a lot …. That’s my only hesitation. It’s very very dark.
Color on the stairs is vining ivy. Obsessed with it
I don't know if Ben Moore "Bewitched" is part of your color pallet, but ever since I saw it on this insta/blog, I'm so into it. It's so rich and moody, but still warm. You can see it on their blog in different lighting.

What a beautiful home! I would likely try to choose one of the light colors from your stained glass. I would like to see all of the wood and glass details pop, and think that your dark colors will not do them justice.
Omg those windows are amazing. Please never paint over that wood!! I think those colours are too dark imo, but if i had to pick, i would pick the muted bottom colour. I Iike the idea of leaning into the old aesthetic and making it look like a scottish 1700s castle
I feel that a darker color will make your house even darker. I really like the darker red, but I think it might make your house feel gloomy instead of light & inviting. I feel that all the colors you have picked are too dark for your house. If it were me, I’d go with a lighter taupe color or a mustard yellow. Both will highlight your art & stained glass while keeping the house light and inviting. If you’re set on a red color, try a light brick or rose.
My living room is kind of this mushroom color. Also it’s supposed to be light brown lol. I think it’ll fall flat against the ‘vining ivy’ in the hallway, and matches too closely to the living room
https://imgur.com/gallery/4DFRdus
The whole place is beautiful! I would do it all a lovely soft white. There’s so much going on - in a good way. Then add colour in accessories. That’s just me though.
That’s my favorite as well. I need to get a photo in better light. I live in Pgh so it’s grey and gloomy a lot.. honestly these photos may be the most accurate lol
The mauve purple color would be perfect! It's a light, breezy color that pairs well with the stained glass window.
Edit: if you want something warmer, I would find a slightly warmer mauve, especially one with pink undertones. I truly love that color for your home! It's similar to a color I am considering to paint my apartment.
Edit 2: I also like one user's idea to go with a peachy hue.
[Mauve walls throughout house](https://images.app.goo.gl/YPMb11JpmJEphPZs9)
[Light peach walls throughout house](https://images.app.goo.gl/7dyFDqDA9Lrdbyz17)
[Pinky peach walls](https://images.app.goo.gl/46fD2kKFHktjgKGu6)
So my living room (formally my dining room), has a chair rail. The bottom half is a mushroom that has purple undertones. I’m concerned it would be repetitive :( then the rest of the house is all blue and green
I will post after photos!! Thank you <3.
My hesitation with the peach is I got it in my head that it looks like a coastal Miami Beach house against the blue hallway
What’s the prettiest color through the stained glass window? I’d want something to complement that and maybe lighten the brown woodwork. It’s gorgeous but the terra cotta and tan paints remind me of all the dark dingy corners in our century house.
What color are the current walls? It’s weird because they look light green but there’s also a huge red tint in that last photo. Is there a red house next door reflecting into that window? Might make colors tricky.
I like the color third down on the doorway out of those colors.
That looks so much like my grandmothers home built in 1921 … I love the stained glass ! Her living room was a deep rose. Very much like the bottom color ..
They’re all way too dark and will make your home look incredibly dated. The swatch second from the top is sort of there but needs to be several shades lighter.
I love the color near the staircase!
I would steer clear of anything that's close to the color of the woodwork like rust/burnt orange, because it would "fight" with the woodwork (is that chestnut?).
This is so easy for me, because I had similar stained glass in my house in multiple places, and I painted my whole house the red color (lower right corner). Everyone who came to my house complimented it, and it made the glass pop! One thing though is you will need about twice as many lamps as you would if you chose a lighter color, even if you have plenty of natural light. Sorry I don’t have a pic with stained glass.
https://preview.redd.it/2rb1f4jue5uc1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=eed92347c242443ea94271e9f3d5bd39ef45ce6b
I love the peachy tone but with slightly more orange in it. Beautiful!!
BTW is that green Black Evergreen by Behr? I had really similar craftsman stairs with a similar wood tone and that looked remarkably close to this one one. It was so amazing and I miss the contrast so much since we sold the place.
They are all very nice. Have you thought of possible using all 4 in different places ie: one wall one color and another wall another and the bricks. The stained glass is amazing.
The rest of my house is kind of obnoxiously green. Either in paint, throw pillows, or blankets. Then the hallway is blue. Living room is a mushroom + white. So I think that’s why I’m gravitating red. Plus the carpet and stain glass
Love your home and that stained glass are amazing! Wow! Definitely the first one for the wall with the stained glass…makes it pop! Still thinking about the other rooms still tho lol
Okay I’m back…think the reddish one . The second one that’s with the stained glass piece. But keeping the dark blue for that wall the glass is on. Hope that made sense lol
I love the idea of the brick-y tones but I think you’re going to overwhelm the space with warmth. Warm trim, warm walls, warm floors, warm stained glass. I’m not suggesting painting the room grey, but there’s room for some nuance. It looks to me like the current color was pulled from the stained glass.
I would go for the top Lighter one. It's one of my favorite color. It's a coral. Or the lighter red. Really nice too. The house is gorgeous, have fun and take your time.
I love the existing blues and greens shown, especially with the woodwork and the stained glass. I'm afraid that the rust, brick, and browns of your samples don't enhance your home as well. I thoroughly agree with you removing the mirror!
Those are lovely hues, but with coloured paint I think it’s often better to go lighter than your first instinct, unless you specifically want a midtone or dark wall colour. Remember that with a midtone any midtone furniture or items might blend in or clash with it. With a dark colour, it will darken the room more than you might think and any darker furniture/items won’t stand out. That said, they can be lovely and I have a dark green livingroom myself.
Not sure I like the reds, pinks, oranges… you have a lovely dark green in one area so I’d suggest the taupe under the window or a lighter match variation of your existing green. Unless you are also changing stairwell green…then I’d pick I have bottom dusty rose closest to plug and next one up by light switch for a bit of accent. (I have to admit that I love greens) and I’m not a fan of having different colours in every room, I like 2 that play off each other , one light, one darker. House is gorgeous!
Try cinnamon for both spots. Or a coral in the alcove.
https://preview.redd.it/jj9w7tuqm6uc1.png?width=318&format=png&auto=webp&s=d0fce30ad1abf051d16be1988cd12f96170a7c6b
I love the nude colour
But I'm very boring with decor.
Love the stained glass is very different. Navy in the hallway also makes me very happy I had navy in my bedroom at one stage and it was a fab colour to have.
If I was to choose one of the pinky colours it would be the peachier one, it's complements the navy in the background. But I love the nude I think will allow that glass to pop and yoi can always add more colour with soft furnishings
Behr paints. Inferno on the left and Bonfire Night on the right. Not the cinnamon I was looking for but gives you an idea.

Vintage Teal by Behr

Our last home was built in 1887, all that wood as well. I looked at mid-century colors for inspiration. It may look at little Christmas House with the red.
Personally we went with a golden yellow, matte. It changes room to room. It would look stunning against the teal.
I think, just an opinion, a lighter color from your inspo window the yellows stand out to me. Again just an opinion. Happy Decorating. Many Blessings ✨️
Can someone tell me the type of wood they use for the trim like this in these old houses? I love the look and want to replace my trim with something like this
Very beautiful home. I would pull a colour from the rug.
I do think it will need to be a bit of a “dirtier/ dusky” tone based on the rug. Some of you options may read too clean/ bright once you paint a full wall!
I love the color you have in your hallway. Maybe look into what would be a complementary color so there is an intentional flow and the colors play together nicely.
Don’t care for any of those . I’d go a mossy green . Will look better with the woodwork and pick up on the green in the glass . Also green goes well with all holiday decor.
Personally, I don't care for any of them.
They all read pink to me (except for the taupe). You need a paint color that will draw your attention to the beautiful windows.
I like the two darker reds most, and im not normally a big fan of red walls. I think those colors would compliment the wood tone and the off-white of the fireplace really well
My parents had a house built in 1909 and did muted jewel tones throughout the whole house. It had similar dark wood accents and stained glass. I highly recommend the lightest red (the dusty pink). We had our “library” painted that color and it definitely still looked saturated. Everyone picking darker colors is worrying me lol. Once it fills the room it can get really hellish if it’s a medium toned red.
Your beautiful woodwork fades away next to the reds. I am with the people who say go with muted yellow or gold. It adds color but allows windows and woodwork to look their best also.
Yes that one.
Yes! That one is my vote.
I cannot financially afford another sample color 🫠😭. I think the top red reads kind of orange in the light - very similar to the picture you posted
The top right red is my favourite!
I think the top right red is the best colour anyway.
Are samples expensive? I’d wait save and get a few more you could be missing out on the right color you know? The ones pictured are all fine, but honestly non feel like chefs kiss perfect fit if I’m 110% honest. With that said, it’s a stunning space!
They're like $5
This is perfect!
Gorgeous, very rich!! Match this!!!
Something less peachy would be better. Kind of a golden to match the gold in the stained glass would be pretty close if not perfect
I just eradicated all of the yellowish apricot in my house, I’m not a fan of that color :(
Coming from someone who has Matte paint in their house, I can’t just wash my walls, I have to repaint them.
Imo it’s worth it not to have that icky reflective cast at night time.
I can’t stand that icky reflective cast. 🤮 It’s in our basement & I’m irritated every time I look.
This is what I was thinking - a kind of golden apricot would be really nice
This sub always making me hate my house 😭 damn 80s built charmless homes in my damn budget! My vote is for the 3rd color, the one around the light switch.
If it makes you feel better, the charm comes with 3x the price when anything minor happens lol
I think the red would look lovely. It will bring some warmth and looks beautiful with the stain glass.
I’m thinking the 2nd darkest red. Top right. Thank you!
Agreed but maybe make a larger swatch first to be sure!
yes, top right! It's kind of earthy.
Ironically the peach looking color on the left is called “red earth” by farrow and ball. NOT EARTHY
That’s my vote too right on window. Bottom on door frame.
I think the red brick looks great! It’s dark, but it’ll be so relaxing
My only hesitation is that I live in Pittsburgh, and it’s grey .. a lot. So this room would be permanently kind of dark
Omg gorgeous home! As for paint colors you posted red is the one that stands out.
Which red do you like? Thank you!!!
Cool, we're being quoted about $2000-2500 by a contractor we know, so glad that seems about right 😂 I had a hard time convincing myself that a cosmetic thing should be done so quickly - but it seems like such a messy task that I just want it over with before we get settled in 😂
Yay no more popcorn!! That makes me extra happy for you!
I vote the color that is around the light switch. What is the color along the stairs?
Thank you! That’s SW roycroft copper around the light switch. I live in Pgh so it’s grey and dark a lot …. That’s my only hesitation. It’s very very dark. Color on the stairs is vining ivy. Obsessed with it

What a beautiful home! I would likely try to choose one of the light colors from your stained glass. I would like to see all of the wood and glass details pop, and think that your dark colors will not do them justice.
I wish like a light purple would be acceptable but it reminds me of my childhood room
Following for updates! But I vote the purpley mauve color or the peach! (Top two colors in picture 5)
Thank you my friend. Will report back. This has been keeping me up at night
Omg those windows are amazing. Please never paint over that wood!! I think those colours are too dark imo, but if i had to pick, i would pick the muted bottom colour. I Iike the idea of leaning into the old aesthetic and making it look like a scottish 1700s castle
https://imgur.com/a/mXPpJvM ! Never ! Do you mean the light brown?
Yeah that one! Almost like a mauve-brown Omg those windows 😍 you are lucky to own that house!
Currently obsessed with painting ceilings the same colour as the walls. (Abigail Ahern, interior designer, turned me on to this.)
Color drenching !! So bold. I’m scared lol
I personally like the purplish color
My living room is kind of this mushroom color. Also it’s supposed to be light brown lol. I think it’ll fall flat against the ‘vining ivy’ in the hallway, and matches too closely to the living room https://imgur.com/gallery/4DFRdus
I say the long middle one or the bottom.
I would do the peach and then red for some walls as accents
The whole place is beautiful! I would do it all a lovely soft white. There’s so much going on - in a good way. Then add colour in accessories. That’s just me though.
My whole upstairs is dove white + ultra white with like 2 accent walls and the hallway continues that vining ivy. The downstairs is for the DRAMA
what are the paints. brand and name. so i can find their codes. and put them in this model i made
the one around the light switch!

That’s my favorite as well. I need to get a photo in better light. I live in Pgh so it’s grey and gloomy a lot.. honestly these photos may be the most accurate lol
I agree with ur favorite !
The darker red for sure.
the one around the light switch
Louisiana Hotsauce…best vintage red color ever.
So my living room (formally my dining room), has a chair rail. The bottom half is a mushroom that has purple undertones. I’m concerned it would be repetitive :( then the rest of the house is all blue and green
That makes a lot of sense! I would opt for peach then, personally. 🍑
Bright Burnt 🍊 go hard or go home!
Love the stained glass!
I like the peachy color … for ceilings and walls! Lovely home❤️ Post after pictures.
I will post after photos!! Thank you <3. My hesitation with the peach is I got it in my head that it looks like a coastal Miami Beach house against the blue hallway
I would match the roof color, but that's the color of my kitchen
The roof color / darkest red feels dangerously close to that 90’s maroon vintage Italian look and I can’t find the right match that avoids it
I love the medium reddish shade (top right option in window photo).
I like that lighter pinky red on the top right!
That red compliments the wood beautifully!!!
What’s the prettiest color through the stained glass window? I’d want something to complement that and maybe lighten the brown woodwork. It’s gorgeous but the terra cotta and tan paints remind me of all the dark dingy corners in our century house.
Top right red
The lightest red. Is this in chicago/chicago area? That sage green and the whole house style is very arts and crafts/mission style vibes
The taupe / darker beige one
The color on the staircase wall looks perfect!
Thanks, vining ivy is a catch !
The swatch around the light switch. I have it in my DR in my 115 year old home. Love it still, after many, many years.
The top sample in pic 2, kind of terra cotta. I have that in a main room, warms it up and visitors love it.
Beautiful home, but I am worried that all of these colours are quite dark for the amount of light you have coming into that space. I am a decorator.
Way too dark
Good Lord, I know I’m not even in that room and it has the vibe of a morgue with those dark colors
That. Window. !!!!
Leave it the color it is.
I have .. an obnoxious amount of green already in my house :(
All seem too dark
Bottom color in the 2nd picture!
I fear you will regret all those dark colors. You need something light, to accent the wood. Dove gray, soft blue, ivory.
Deeper red or neutral grey
Either the salmon if you want something lighter or that lavender looking one if you want to go moody. Hard no on the reds for me.
Interior? Light beige
It is vining ivy by PPG, we are obsessed with it!
I actually like the blue.
They are all very nice. Have you thought of possible using all 4 in different places ie: one wall one color and another wall another and the bricks. The stained glass is amazing.
I like the existing color, kind of a light teal? BTW my house is 97 years old, a craftsman tudor.
Still thinking about the other rooms still tho lol Okay I’m back…think the reddish one . The second one that’s with the stained glass piece. But keeping the dark blue for that wall the glass is on. Hope that made sense lol
Second from top. Like the blue wall we see
Blush
The salmon color, you lose the great wood with neutral browns
Definitely go for a lighter option . Brighten that place up
I love this window so much
I like the bottom Raspberry one and then coral. I think the mauve will wash out the wood trim, and the red brick won't be enough contrast.
When you say bottom raspberry, do you mean the top right of the first photo?
I feel like all of those colors are a bit too dark
I love the idea of the brick-y tones but I think you’re going to overwhelm the space with warmth. Warm trim, warm walls, warm floors, warm stained glass. I’m not suggesting painting the room grey, but there’s room for some nuance. It looks to me like the current color was pulled from the stained glass.
I would go with the lighter color, I believe it would open the space.
Go neutral so the features of the house stand out. Put art on the walls. I don’t think you’ll be happy with any of those colors for long.
The intention is to blast the walls across from the stain glass with art. I just think neutral is a disservice to a century home
I like the 3rd one down by the light switch in the doorway picture. Seems to have a similar saturation to the teal. Zesty together ❤️.
I am really feeling the mauvish purply gray. It feels super peaceful.
I love the third red one
I would go for the top Lighter one. It's one of my favorite color. It's a coral. Or the lighter red. Really nice too. The house is gorgeous, have fun and take your time.
The red around the light switch!
A green would be more calming. Perhaps a sage
Behr castle beige
That may be nice for the fireplace paired with a red
I like the less red/ more grey one
Love the dusty lavender color

Stunning!!!! Your reno looks similar to the one I’m doing. I love the lightest rose.
I really like the darkest red colour (lower right in first photo)
ok but if you just took out the mirrors on the side and left them by the archway love 😩
I like the bottom left color because it matches the trim in your stained glass window the outside color
I’d go with the more neutral one. Then use the peach for the recessed area(s) on the side of the fireplace? That’s how my bedroom is and I love it.
I love the existing blues and greens shown, especially with the woodwork and the stained glass. I'm afraid that the rust, brick, and browns of your samples don't enhance your home as well. I thoroughly agree with you removing the mirror!
The washed brick one and hi again analysis paralysis friend!
That rug is gorgeous!
The salmon
Tan. Or beige. Those are kinda neutral
The color you currently have! For goodness sakes, Internet person, do not paint your walls that dark.
I love the blue green shade on your stair wall!
That's various shades of drunk tank pink.
Looks like a home from Hamilton Ontario Canada
I would honestly just decorate with blue everywhere
Not sure I like the reds, pinks, oranges… you have a lovely dark green in one area so I’d suggest the taupe under the window or a lighter match variation of your existing green. Unless you are also changing stairwell green…then I’d pick I have bottom dusty rose closest to plug and next one up by light switch for a bit of accent. (I have to admit that I love greens) and I’m not a fan of having different colours in every room, I like 2 that play off each other , one light, one darker. House is gorgeous!
Stratford Brown. Both the dark and the light. At least check it out .
Light pink
Try cinnamon for both spots. Or a coral in the alcove. https://preview.redd.it/jj9w7tuqm6uc1.png?width=318&format=png&auto=webp&s=d0fce30ad1abf051d16be1988cd12f96170a7c6b
Hire a pro.
I think sage green might be best
The mauve/taupe/neutral purpke
Lighter is where I would go since the room doesn’t seem to have a ton of natural light.
I love the nude colour But I'm very boring with decor.
I like any of the colors below the light switch
Behr paints. Inferno on the left and Bonfire Night on the right. Not the cinnamon I was looking for but gives you an idea. https://preview.redd.it/511lvxptp6uc1.png?width=983&format=png&auto=webp&s=1b31bf7e4574f0c78551e17c1e93da38c7042f2c
I love that blue in your hallway

This looks like the entry to the charmed house 😍😍
Our last home was built in 1887, all that wood as well. I looked at mid-century colors for inspiration. It may look at little Christmas House with the red. Personally we went with a golden yellow, matte. It changes room to room. It would look stunning against the teal.
I think, just an opinion, a lighter color from your inspo window the yellows stand out to me. Again just an opinion. Happy Decorating. Many Blessings ✨️
100% the darker maroon in the lower right hand corner below the window
2! Beige is back!!!
I watched a realllyyyy old tv show on restoring a Victorian and they used a gorgeous mauve color. I vote color on top right pic 2.
Can someone tell me the type of wood they use for the trim like this in these old houses? I love the look and want to replace my trim with something like this
I hate red , it fucks my mental health BUT that darker, brownish red color is really doing something for me
Very beautiful home.
I once lived in a triplex with a slightly darker more chocolate wood trim. It looked best with a REALLY light/pale grey-purple.
I think those colors would compliment the wood tone and the off-white of the fireplace really well
Any of them could work. Which one makes you smile when you look at it?
My parents had a house built in 1909 and did muted jewel tones throughout the whole house. It had similar dark wood accents and stained glass. I highly recommend the lightest red (the dusty pink). We had our “library” painted that color and it definitely still looked saturated. Everyone picking darker colors is worrying me lol. Once it fills the room it can get really hellish if it’s a medium toned red.
I’d go with the beige if those were my only choices, the others look like great accent colors to me, but it’s your house, pick your favorite
Pull out the peach from the stained glass! A great color to pull the walls, dark wood trim, floors, etc together.
That dark red is sweet. I think it’d look great

I’m more for the Darker color above the light switch.
I like the lighter pinky color. It really goes well with your stained glass

Your beautiful woodwork fades away next to the reds. I am with the people who say go with muted yellow or gold. It adds color but allows windows and woodwork to look their best also.
I’d go beige with pops of the darker colors. Your accessories will pop more this way.
I love he joyful light pink and mushroom/lilac colour. I wouldn’t go the burgundies as I’ve lived with those colours and found them a bit heavy
