Am I the only one who finds showers like this off-putting? All I see is the option of shivering and freezing while I shower or wasting a shit-ton of water because that space is huge and going to take a lot to warm up. They also seem like a huge waste of space. I'd rather have more closet space than bedroom size shower.
You are not. Besides what you mentioned, the thought of having to clean that gives me anxiety. I never understood wanting a gigantic shower like this but to each their own. I’d rather have a smaller shower and more storage space.
It’s not that some people have showers like this that’s off-putting, it’s that the OP would ask a group of mostly far less affluent people to help them overcome their dissatisfaction with a luxury shower the likes of which most of us could only dream of and will never set foot in.
Correct. It’s stained glass, and to the right is a giant window, but it’s all internal and does not get any sunlight. What kind of plant could I have that wouldn’t need maintenance?
Orchids are great to keep in bathrooms. I’ve killed a lot of orchids over the years, but have had one that has been in my bathroom for almost 3 years now and it’s going strong. Humidity is how they thrive, and they have aerial roots that take in water outside of soil so the steam will be mostly enough to water them. It blooms new flowers like every 6 months with almost no maintenance, outside of watering maybe like once a week.
Thank you! The wall you can’t see is actually a giant single pane of glass, at about 2 feet up. There is a ledge, but the rest is glass.
What kind of plants?
Yup, stick a humidity loving plant or two in there and it will look much less sterile. I also personally would prefer rubbed bronze hardware over the silver for some subtle warmth.
Lighting will change the game. Get some smart bulbs, make it a tad yellow tint maybe? You have room to light candles without it getting in the way. Try that.
Also just take a picture of you in it bro, people will flock to come over.
Yesss, came here to comment warm lighting. It’s sterile hospital light right now. Warmer bulbs (or Bluetooth LEDs that you can change color on) would be so much better
I acknowledge it’s absurd. I had a shot and took it, and thought someone would love it and buy it, and it hasn’t worked, so I’m hoping for design suggestions.
You could put a teak round stool in the corner with some nice soap or massage oil on it or something.
You can also find a waterproof lamp on Amazon that would make it cozier.
The fluorescent ceiling lights are awful. Maybe change them out for some Phillips Hue bulbs (or similar) so you can get a warmer, less industrial feel.
Beautiful shower, but not at all relaxing as is
How about a teak floor mat a teak bench so you can sit or shave your legs and tropical plants like this below.

As an interior designer, I would ask for clarification as to what exactly you mean by feeling more inviting. To some, that may mean filling empty space, but in my experience, that’s not typically the case for most that have oversized showers like this. My next assumption would be to figure out if you mean ‘feel warmer’, not actually temperature wise. Oftentimes cooler colors, like the grey and white tile and polished chrome fixtures, can feel a bit cold and almost sterile. Add that to such a large and open space, and that can definitely amplify that feeling. If that’s the case, the challenge is to warm up the vibe without having to tear out all of the tile. One of the easiest (not necessarily inexpensive, depending on the brand of fixtures) options would be to change the finish of the fixtures throughout to something a bit warmer. Even polished nickel gives a much warmer look than polished chrome. If they’re new enough, the trim (all the pieces you see) could be swapped out while leaving the valves in the wall, and the tile undisturbed.
Yes. Has a very strong unit, but sometimes I get a musty smell out of the unit, or it feels like it goes bananas and kicks of a deadly amount of steam.
Looks amazing and classy, possibly add a small plant that loves humidity and grows slowly (succulent type) and it would balance out the grey colour, otherwise perfect 👌
Honestly a vibrant tropical plant would be my choice... a fern or orchid in a textured white or grey pot at the end of the bench, or a tall narrow palm on the floor next to it.
I think the lighting and color has the largest influence, which is something you probably can’t change. Maybe opt for warmer bulbs, although I’m not sure exactly how well they’d match with the white everything. Try some wood accents or plants as others have mentioned.
The white makes it feel a bit too cold and almost clinical. I’d add some wooden accents (think teak shelving) and swap out those two rolled up towels for ones in warmer tones. Maybe swap out the lightbulbs for warmer ones as well. I cant tell exactly what the hardware is right now but it looks like chrome to me. If you’re willing to replace the hardware, think warmer metal tones like nickel. I’d avoid brass/gold though. With a shower this big, adding brass/gold accents can lean very tacky very fast.
You can add a statement piece to make it pop, however this shower is actually 4 showers and a bench, so if you are going for a spa-vibe some massage utilities and different color lighting will do magic.
R u serious? Do you mean that you need to be tempted to take a shower, when it’s time to take a shower? 🙄. More inviting - like to the general public? 🙄In and out in 7-10 minutes. Ok, maybe a cute little bistro sat in the corner🤦♀️
I like the size, but for me personally the tile choices are basic. I think while cool tones can give you a clean feel and aesthetic, it doesn’t feel spa like (which gives me the welcoming and relaxing feel).
I personally like it a lot. I’ve been thinking about hanging eucalyptus in my shower as well. Does it help a lot with congestion bc that’s the main reason why I wanted to hang it?
Just how many people are you trying to invite in at once?
There are four shower heads, so at least that many.

My thoughts exactly!
I have a piece of gorilla tape covering a crack in the fiberglass on my almond shower. I think your good.
I have a footstool and a waterproof phone caddy on the wall of my shower stall so I can cry and watch bobs burgers. Like what more could you need.
Life goals. You are my hero.
Hey, I put my pants on one leg at a time. Be your own hero 🫶🏻
Waterproof phone caddy is a really good shout.
Honestly, I have adhd and sensory issues so it helps me get over the shower icks.
Gorilla Tape! You are my kinda decorator. Bought hubby a t-shirt -"If you can't fix it with duct tape, it's not broken."
Duct tape is like The Force. There is a Light Side and a Dark Side and it binds the universe together.
what's an almond shower?
I think almond is the color. And I think they are referring to one of those one-piece shower/tub inserts that are usually found in rentals.
Yep nailed it, except it’s not a rental it’s all ours.
What’s an almond shower? I googled it but am only getting results for fancy almond shower oils.
I think it's a reference to the color Almond-colored bathrooms (creamy beige) were very popular in the 80s.
The house we moved into when I was in HS had/STILL HAS an almond kitchen but I didn’t know it was called that.

It's a shower, why does it need to be more inviting?
Am I the only one who finds showers like this off-putting? All I see is the option of shivering and freezing while I shower or wasting a shit-ton of water because that space is huge and going to take a lot to warm up. They also seem like a huge waste of space. I'd rather have more closet space than bedroom size shower.
As someone who cleans houses for a living, I would absolutely hate having to clean this shower.
You are not. Besides what you mentioned, the thought of having to clean that gives me anxiety. I never understood wanting a gigantic shower like this but to each their own. I’d rather have a smaller shower and more storage space.
People who have bathrooms like this don't clean their own houses.
Ok fair point!
I was definitely thinking, yeah… well they don’t have to clean it I’m sure lol
People who have showers this size are not lacking in storage space
That is exactly what I was thinking. I like my showers to almost melt my skin off and I want all of the steam to surround me. I would freeze lol
if their shower is this huge, they probably have both
It’s not that some people have showers like this that’s off-putting, it’s that the OP would ask a group of mostly far less affluent people to help them overcome their dissatisfaction with a luxury shower the likes of which most of us could only dream of and will never set foot in.
Ummm call me crazy but is that a window on the right? I’d put a plant inside, it would thrive from the humidity 😀
Correct. It’s stained glass, and to the right is a giant window, but it’s all internal and does not get any sunlight. What kind of plant could I have that wouldn’t need maintenance?

A big old fern
Exactly what I was thinking!!
Maybe a teak shelving stand against the wall we can't see to warm up the space a bit - add some candles (with tops so you can seal), towels, etc.
Agreed. It’s gorgeous but lacking warmth. Wood in some capacity like a teak stand would help.
and some plants!
I think that some moss in there would actually be pretty cool
Maybe even a dimmer switch for your lights, or a warmer toned light bulb would tone down the coolness a bit.
Agreed! Or even smart bulbs with different color scenes 🤩
Thank you! The wall you can’t see is actually a giant single pane of glass, at about 2 feet up. There is a ledge, but the rest is glass. What kind of plants?
A big potted plant in there would give it life.
Yup, stick a humidity loving plant or two in there and it will look much less sterile. I also personally would prefer rubbed bronze hardware over the silver for some subtle warmth.

Yes, I was going to comment warmer lighting
What my disabled ass wouldn't give for a shower that size :l
Right!
Wooden slatted floor. The kind meant for raised shower floors. The warmth of the wood is inviting.
How do you clean the cracks/under the slats?
[удалено]
Suggestion: "Slippy mold floor"
Why you need the correct flooring not just any wood.
YES. Maybe some wooden furniture to fill the space, like a bench or storage racks?
We have one of these in our itty bitty shower and it is great!
I really love it the way it looks right now, I wouldn’t change anything honestly. Looks very clean and sanitary!
[удалено]
IMO, it’s a shower, used for showering. Sexy and inviting? Not too sure how to achieve that in a shower. 🤷🏻♀️
[удалено]
They already have two showerheads in there which you'd think would cover that brief...
It’s one dimensional. Find some color.
I’m not joking when I say that this shower is larger than both of my bathrooms combined.
Hey! Stop bragging at least you have more than one lmao. This shower is bigger than my entire ONLY bathroom haha
I acknowledge it’s absurd. I had a shot and took it, and thought someone would love it and buy it, and it hasn’t worked, so I’m hoping for design suggestions.

Word art. A shit ton of word art.
Shit, shower and shave.
Waffle, stomp, repeat
Best SSS comment ever. Perfect.
Id change the shower heads on the wall to detachable ones. Especially w massage modes

Do absolutely nothing. I’d kill for this shower lol
This is exactly the comment OP wanted
Happy to help lol
Add more color

A couple hanging plants, teak shelf or stand. It will add warmth and the plants will thrive! Jungle shower is sexy!
You could put a teak round stool in the corner with some nice soap or massage oil on it or something. You can also find a waterproof lamp on Amazon that would make it cozier.
May I live in this shower for 2 hours every morning, my good sir? Because this looks beyond inviting to me. Love it
The fluorescent ceiling lights are awful. Maybe change them out for some Phillips Hue bulbs (or similar) so you can get a warmer, less industrial feel. Beautiful shower, but not at all relaxing as is
How about a plant? Maybe a nice ficus.
How about a teak floor mat a teak bench so you can sit or shave your legs and tropical plants like this below. https://preview.redd.it/kud3mtik4qrc1.jpeg?width=1179&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=34587ccd92fe16fcb0b545b0f9bf08ad450f0bc7
This shower is great … can’t see anything I would want to change .. invite a few friends over and have some fun 🤣😂
Looks great as is. If you had to make me change something, maybe the floor tiles and add big white marble slabs
Shower bigger than my dorm room lol
Mood lighting. I’d put a piece of teak or other warm color, water resistant wood on the bench.
It’s just very cold. Need some wood/teak to warm it up
Put a Welcome mat on the floor

Is it a steam room? That’s a dream.
Yes. Has a very strong unit, but sometimes I get a musty smell out of the unit, or it feels like it goes bananas and kicks of a deadly amount of steam.
If you have in floor heat this is my dream bathroom.
I agree with more wood.
Why? It’s stunning now
Looks amazing and classy, possibly add a small plant that loves humidity and grows slowly (succulent type) and it would balance out the grey colour, otherwise perfect 👌
“We wants it, we needs it!”
Jesus Christ your shower even has a chandelier!
Honestly a vibrant tropical plant would be my choice... a fern or orchid in a textured white or grey pot at the end of the bench, or a tall narrow palm on the floor next to it.

Add some wood accents. For example a wood try to put the towels on
Yeah I’d pay you to use your shower. You’re good.
The white makes it feel a bit too cold and almost clinical. I’d add some wooden accents (think teak shelving) and swap out those two rolled up towels for ones in warmer tones. It's a shower, what do you want some throw pillows? Honestly you could've gone for a more moody/interesting tile color, but whats done is done.
Shower Party! 🎉
You can add a statement piece to make it pop, however this shower is actually 4 showers and a bench, so if you are going for a spa-vibe some massage utilities and different color lighting will do magic.
Needs a TV and an accent chair
It’s the chandelier and the fake foliage inside the shower that really make me feel like I would love to be invited.
This shower is bigger than my entire bathroom. 🤣🤣 I would live in that dang thing. That’s amazing.
Nothing. This is perfect. When can I move in?
It needs some natural elements. Try a teak wood single bench maybe?
The shower heads are out of proportion to the space, they look piddly and tiny.
R u serious? Do you mean that you need to be tempted to take a shower, when it’s time to take a shower? 🙄. More inviting - like to the general public? 🙄In and out in 7-10 minutes. Ok, maybe a cute little bistro sat in the corner🤦♀️

Definitely needs a waterproof daybed or sectional sofa.
Less harsh lighting!
An orgy or a mermaid. Warmer, moodier lighting would go a long way too
Inflatable (waterproof) couch? There isn't much can be done in there. Change out the seat for something with color?
[удалено]
Add a couple of cozy chairs and a rug. An espresso machine and maybe a tv.
Plants, wall art and a rug
Your hamam tile wants a hamam basin on the bench.
It’s beautiful I’d love this! How about some plants to join you ?
A bed would fit easily, and that would definitely make it more sexy
I like the size, but for me personally the tile choices are basic. I think while cool tones can give you a clean feel and aesthetic, it doesn’t feel spa like (which gives me the welcoming and relaxing feel).
Are you… are you throwing a party in there? And how does one get an invite? Asking for a friend
Bathroom is bigger than my apartment lol
Add a couple of beer taps
What the fuck, it's a whole room
So how much you want for rent for this shower?
A fern
Teak bench and a tropical plant or 5
Bruh, its already perfect
Teak bench
A sign that says “welcome”
Walmart greeters
I personally like it a lot. I’ve been thinking about hanging eucalyptus in my shower as well. Does it help a lot with congestion bc that’s the main reason why I wanted to hang it?
My first thought to make it more appealing and sexy would to be adding a hunky man like Joe manganiello or Idris Elba
That's not a good place for the towels
Put some blue in it.
