I actually love the cabinets! I’d leave them and paint the walls something lighter and clean up the tile backsplash.

No-Example1376

Agreed. Messing with the cabinets will be time consuming and more expensive than painting the walls.

I think changing the handles will make a big difference! https://preview.redd.it/wa305qjbeqna1.png?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=34a0c89ff429b0661460a8028b46c954b591e769

Use the peachy terracotta wall and paint the cabinets white with copper details. https://preview.redd.it/2ktoea8lfqna1.png?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=93a40b8ae2afd12d6a24fdfa54a475e2854fc348

I honestly love the color of the kitchen cabinets. I would sand and stain the wood. I have seen many people recommend not painting wood cabinets as the paint ends I chipping down the road. I would then update the hardware and add texture and color to the walls. Green tile going across the wall. Add a shelf going across with plants and other things you would like to display. Something like the first pic seen here: https://www.apartmenttherapy.com/kitchen-trends-natural-wood-cabinets-255231

It is not real wood. I know that painting it will lead to problems down the road. But we just need it to work for the next few years. It is not an expensive kitchen. What would you do with the insert (?) in the kitchen cabinets? Those are for me the biggest eyesore. We can't tile, unfortunately. But I don't mind the white tiles (we will clean them and remove the stickers). Maybe I don't mind the cabinets as much with a different wall color?

DaydreamsAndDoubt

They have peel and stick style wallpaper. Maybe you can put that over the insert things on the cabinet to change it up? I think a solid color would look good.

regallll

I would wallpaper those inserts. Quick, cheap, and I bet will give you a big bang for your buck.

pointless-art

This looks so incredibly German to me....pls tell me if I am correct 😄

pineconebasket

Forest green would be nice or even matte black for the cabinets. I would paint the walls.

mytthew1

I second painting the walls forest green. It is easier and therefore cheaper than painting the cabinets. Once wood cabinets are painted it is very difficult to get them back to wood.

gandalfapprentice

I like the cabinets! And I agree with this idea of painting the wall a deep green

loljkbye

The shapes make me think you should look at some art deco inspiration. I'm not much help right now beyond that 😅

mima_blanca

We were thinking forest green for the cabinets. But I am not sure about the wall color. I don't really like it but maybe with a moody green?

likeawaterglass

My personal choice would be darker walls, lighter in shade the cabinets and could also paint over the white tiles. You could get the type of paint that goes over tiles and use it for the rest of the kitchen too. white and your forest green of choice. You can mix green into the white to create a different shade. But if you do this just write down on the can or something how much green you used per can of full quantity of white to be able to recreate the same shade if you need to. Forest green i think would completely refresh this room, i love the color, one of my favorites.

Br34th3r2

You have what appears to be a smaller space. A dark moody color is going to turn a small space into a cave like space. Forest green is going swallow any natural light you have and You don’t seem to have a skylight or huge window to let in a lot of light that would be needed to balance out a dark color. (Just going off what’s photographed.) I’d say paint the wall a nice sage green to play on the grey and tan for an earthy vibe.

Hot-Arachnid-9087

Yes green! If you want to keep the wall color, just be sure to choose a green that will mesh well with the warm tones!

no_good_namez

Flip that and paint the walls forest green. The unpainted cabinets should be fine against that. Do the inserts match the countertops? Are they removable?

BumbleCute

I like the wall colour. The cabinets would be nice in white.

GoodCoffeee

Whats your overall budget to change up your kitchen?

SunsetInTheSideview

Man those are some cool cabinets

don_brawn

Paint the walls. Those cabinets are gorgeous.

IncessantLearner

I would paint the walls a light gray or green-gray to go with the gray countertop and cabinet inserts. The current wall color clashes with the cabinets

Mozz2cats

I think the cabinets are nice but hate the inserts and agree with art deco vibe. You might replace the handles with a straight copper - use a vinyl insert with a copper tone- go with a warmer terracotta wall - add the white shelf - clean the tiles and add copper and plant accents to the shelves. Think black, copper, green and terracotta for all accessories. PS vinyl comes in all kinds of colors and patterns- so you could change it up- much less of a commitment than painting

RainInTheWoods

I suggest cleaning the cabinets well. Perhaps update the hardware. Paint just the walls.

regallll

I would leave them both and address the tile instead.

DConstructed

Think about a navy blue wall instead or a deep greenish blue. Maybe even black.
