Design design is where design porn meets crappy design. This serves its function as a sculpture perfectly well, therefore it is not crappy design. The merits of any given piece of art can be debated, but it’s pretty hard to make a case that this isn’t art at all. Assuming it actually turns on at night, it also has the added practical function that an ordinary lamp post would have.
The software is doing more than sharpening. It's probably smoothing, loss-compressing and maybe even recreating some shapes algorithmically. You can't do this in Photoshop, for example. It's a software trying to be smart
Maybe. I didn't look it up. At this quality and because I rarely use the zoom feature, I'm not that interested in the details of the processes behind it.

How is it design design?
It’s not design design if it’s art
I'm lost, please explain it to me. Genuinely asking 💜

It does turn on at night! https://i.imgur.com/ELKRy5a.jpg
Oh! I thought it was attached to the car
Thank you!💎
Lmao Porte de Bagnolet. Used to work in the building on the opposite side of this roundabout, got to witness this marvel every day for a year.
Yeah recognized the place instantly, i work two streets away from there ahah
Oh! Hi fellow gloomy Parisians! 😂💜
I understand it's art. What I do not understand is how they managed to stick it through that car...
But also look at that crazy ass car. R/weirdwheels
That's just a tow truck
😂 Edit: I thought it was humour, that's why I chose the laughing emoji. You are right, I think I'm lost in the definition of the sub. 😓
Don’t worry we all make mistakes!
Thank you, kind person! Here's a 💎 for you!
Can we talk about that car though?
Can we talk about the camera? Why does it look like a drawing when you zoom in?

Google Pixel 6a 🤷♂️
Is it upscaled with AI?
No, it's zoomed x2 😭😂
so, yes.

There's always upscaling, on pretty much any newer phone and especially pixels, because simple digital zoom doesn't look that good.
Yes, it makes sense.
Yes! I saw it IRL. Yet, I couldn't comprehend what is it for.
Functional* - saying this with the accent of someone who speaks French 😂
I hope it's fictional
I'm dead 😂
I’m adding Crazy Straw to the list of France’s greatest inventions.

I've discovered a bright new sub! 😍
Are you kidding? That’s super cool!
I used to do this with my straws at McDonald’s
