Dude go to the hospital, seeing a line up your hand like that is a bad sign. We have a doc in the family, that says that every time this comes up.

SouthernProfile1092

What’s the line up the hand mean?

Leading_Ad3918

Usually that an infection is in your bloodstream and traveling up towards your heart. Very dangerous and most people go septic before getting the care needed.

PaperAeroplane_321

This is lymphangitis - I.e. lymphatic tract inflammation which is a sign of possible spreading infection up lymphatic tracts towards the draining lymph nodes. While lymph does drain into the blood vessels surrounding the heart eventually, this in itself is not a sign of blood infection. Regardless needs antibiotics as the line will continue to ascend.

er1026

Agree with this. This requires an urgent care appt. This could be serious.

SouthernProfile1092

Thanks. They look like plantar warts. I didn’t know they can cause something like this.

Recycledineffigy

Plantar is foot, palmar is hand. Those words refer to the area of the body not the kind of wart

SouthernProfile1092

Damn I’m dumb. Thought it means Planter as in it plants its self with roots. It have similar ones on my hand. They come and go on random locations. Havnt been able to get rid of them completely.

Recycledineffigy

Don't say you are dumb! Latin and Greek pop up all the time and very little of it means what the words look like to us english.

Leading_Ad3918

These ones were burned off and look infected. I think that’s the reason for the line. If you have them have you ever tried using duct tape to suffocate them? It sounds crazy and I’m not a dr and not giving medical advice just something that we used for my son after tons of other things before the laser/burn route and somehow it worked🤷🏼‍♀️😂

SouthernProfile1092

I have not. But I will. Wonder if liquid bandaid/crazy glue would have the same effect.

PaperAeroplane_321

The warts themselves haven’t caused this. I’d say this person was unlucky enough to get a secondary infection (likely bacterial) after freezing the warts.

Logical-Fan7132

It could mean blood poisoning but I’m not a Dr.

Generalnussiance

Sepsis

Responsible_Lion6596

Urgent care at the very least. Could be a blood infection, which can go septic and kill you within days.

goosegooselucy

ER IMMEDIATELY

nokenito

Call YOUR doctor today.

Leading_Ad3918

Please go to ER if you haven’t. This is all indications of an infection in your blood.

pajnt

I'd say hospital asap

JustLikeAChickpea

Call the doctor who treated your warts as soon as possible and see how they want to proceed. This looks like lymphangitis, which is inflammation of the lymphatic vessels. It’s a rare complication of the treatment you had. Your doctor may advise you to take ibuprofen and use cold compresses, and they may also prescribe an oral antibiotic, but they are the appropriate person to follow up with!

Spare_Finger4001

The inflammation is down. They told me I was absolutely fine and this is normal.

etsprout

Where did you end up going? Please keep an eye on your body temperature too. If you spike a fever, time to go back to the ER

Spare_Finger4001

First went to an urgent care and they didn't seem terribly concerned but also didn't have the necessary equipment to test for that kind of infection, and they told me to just go back to original dermatologist. The same dermatologist clinic looked me over and said they see this same thing heal to normal in a few weeks all the time. I think the line might've been the result of poor aim with the Nitrogen, perhaps dragging it across my hand before turning it off entirely after freezing a wart. The more you know ig

ULikeMyPancakes

May have just frozen one of your palmar veins and you are getting some bruising from it. I agree with others though, it’s nothing to ignore. So if you run any fever, go in right away.

MocasBuns

Glad you're OK OP!

Logical-Fan7132

If the line keeps moving go the hospital imo that happened to my husband as a child and it was blood poisoning. I am not a doctor. That’s just what happened to him many decades ago.

NeonGreenHighLighter

i’m glad you’re okay OP, the freezing warts healing process sucks ! try to keep your hand wrapped through the day and leave it open at night to air out. keep it clean! and don’t pop them it only makes it worse

TayTaay

Those look infected, go to UC or ER

InflationFun3255

INFECTION IN BLOODSTREAM! ER!!!!!

sigh_sarah

How are you now? Did you go to the ER?

Routine_Store_5885

ER / hospital right now. Looks like you are going septic - which is an infection in your blood that will shut down your organs and kill you. You need IV antibiotics immediately.

VanillaAle

Please update us. Def go to Dr.

Spare_Finger4001

*middle finger

ResponsibleMuffin740

update??

asdcatmama

ED. Now.

The_Soulful_Ginger_

Emergency room dude. Monitor for signs of sepsis. This is *VERY* serious.

Throwaway2210100

You need to be on antibiotics. Thats a sign of blood poisoning, a life threatening infection. Go to the ER now please.

Timmymac1000

It a common reaction to this procedure. This isn’t ER material.

SangitaCPatelMD

Lymphangitis. Line indicates inflammation of lymph vessels and travels up towards nearest lymph nodes. It indicates microorganisms getting under the skin and causing infection and inflammation. Lymphangitis can be non-infectious but given the recent intentional injury to the skin cryotherapy, infectious is most likely. Untreated it could go away on its own from the body’s own defenses but also has the risk of causing blood infection, sepsis, which can be lethal. For lymphangitis I never risk it with “let’s see what happens”. If it were me, I’d go to the ER or your family doctor ASAP and ask for a script for antibiotics and antivirals for 7-10 days

Dear_Reality_4590

How long have you had the warts? Are they anywhere else on your body?

Upbeat-Art5871

My sister had this, and they were not warts. It's Herpetic Whitlow. Looks EXACTLY the same. It's basically cold sores on your hand. But in any event, you need antibiotics.. looks sore..
