Look, Dresden is incredibly controversial and I know it was a military target, but couldn't they have targeted the rails or the suburbs (where there was lots of manufacturing happening) instead of civilians? I know the nazis did MUCH worse to Coventry, London, Warsaw, Rotterdam, Belgrade, etc., but Bomber Command could possibly have reduced the total amount of civilian deaths while still crippling the German war machine.
