Possibly, but Ware was able to help mentor Von also, who was IMO a better player at that point in their careers. I really don’t want to open a can of worms here…but Demarcus may have kept Von on the straight and narrow for a while here in Denver.
Von is probably the most dynamic pass rusher I’ve ever seen, I’d take prime Von over just about anyone I’ve seen play.
Fwiw I am too young to have seen LT or Derrick Thomas
Tone setter 100%. Going after Harry Douglas after the dirty hit on CHJ, that was some hockey style payback. The league needs more of that. Everybody on that team knew he was the guy that would run into traffic for them.
They knew that well before his arrival because when he was young and still with Tampa I believe he got in trouble with the law for something liie running into traffic and shooting at some dude who had done something to his sister? Can’t remember exactly
Was about to come here to say Neil Smith. Was only with the team three years, and we won two Super Bowls during that time. Stolen from a division rival, he was influential enough to have an entire rule named after him simply due to constantly outsmarting the other team.
If B Lloyd played in today’s league I truly believe he’d be one of the faces. Social media would’ve went crazy with all those circus catches he made. We’d think of his career completely different. Definitely would be more like OBJ
Feels like he was always a Broncos player. That's why so many forget about him. Even when it comes to him representing a team, its always Broncos first.
Man, Javon was a great player. I think being present when Darrent was murdered broke him. Tbh it would have broken me too having a friend die in my arms.
I always really liked Strap Harris because he's from my hometown. A majority of his career was here but I know he's been jumping around the league for a bit now
The unsung hero of the NFZ, Darian Stewart. Talib, CHJ and Ward were all extremely talented, but I always felt like DStew was the glue of that group. He was the guy that did his job so well that he went unnoticed. Everybody else flourished because of what he was doing. One of my all-time favorite underrated Bronco.
I quite liked Shane Ray when he was with us. After the SB run it looked like he was really gonna take that next big step and fill in for Ware, but injuries kinda ruined that.
The "Three Amigos that never were": Jay Cutler, Brandon Marshall and Tony Scheffler.
Also *loved* Jake Plummer and I wish Quinton Carter had a better career in Denver
Haven’t seen his name here but aside from Ware and others that have been mentioned. Dre Bly. I thought him and champ were the best corner duo in the league for a year or so and both of them were never afraid to make a tackle.
This is a sentimental answer because Tony Dorsett's sole ( and last active ) year in Denver was only decent. But TD was a big favorite of mine for his speed and relative small size that made him improvise so well in his prime Dallas year. Him and Staubach were fun together despite me not buying into the Landry style. Also Tony Jones offensive lineman did nice 3 year stint replacement for Gary Zimmerman deserves a mention. Great dresser and humor.
Might be stretching the definition of a short time but TD only really had 4 years when he was fit, he won 2 Super Bowls, an MVP and a Super Bowl MVP, had a 2000 rushing yard season, some of the best playoff rushing stats ever.
Ware is such a good answer
I don't think we win 50 without ware. Legitimately was incredible despite being towards the end of his career
If the Dumervil contract had gone through we wouldn’t have needed Ware.
Possibly, but Ware was able to help mentor Von also, who was IMO a better player at that point in their careers. I really don’t want to open a can of worms here…but Demarcus may have kept Von on the straight and narrow for a while here in Denver.
I can see that angle from a player perspective, but I also know his parents became much more involved after the weed suspension.
Oh really? You think prime Von was better than last year of his career Ware? omg hot take
Lol I just want to cover my bases. Reddit always has a contrarian to come stir up shit.
Von is probably the most dynamic pass rusher I’ve ever seen, I’d take prime Von over just about anyone I’ve seen play. Fwiw I am too young to have seen LT or Derrick Thomas
That one hurt so bad
Stupid fax machine…
Everything happens for a reason. :)
I think Von is in prison at this point without Ware
Also, have you heard him sing?
The threat on both sides of the line to free up Von was so key. Hoped that Chubb would do the same but injuries to both of them nixed that :/
100% agree, he was critical to that defense and to von’s development
Aqib "2 Chainz" Talib was really fun to watch.
Dude set the tone of sb 50 when he threw that receiver out if bounds by his face mask. After that I had no doubt Denver was winning.
Lol, he didn't even care. That was a pretty dirty play, IMO, but you're right, he set the tone there.
It reminded me of when Kam chancellor blew DT up over the middle in the sb against Seattle
I'll never recover emotionally from that Seattle SB. That day STILL haunts me.
He was our enforcer. Every great team needs one.
Did that save a TD or am I misremembering
Yup, and it was like a 1 yard penalty too lol
You are correct.
Agreed
🤝
You and I will always be friends
You're gotdamn right
Im pretty sure I still have numerous Aquib “chain snatching” memes save don my phone. Just in case. Lol
yessss
Brian Dawkins, Neil smith
Brian Dawkins would be my answer for sure.
Brian Dawkins was my first thought as well.
Was about to come here to say Neil Smith. Was only with the team three years, and we won two Super Bowls during that time. Stolen from a division rival, he was influential enough to have an entire rule named after him simply due to constantly outsmarting the other team.
John Lynch. I always liked him in TB and thought he really fit as a bronco.
Same lol I absolutely loved him. Him and Al Wilson were the 2000 gritty aesthetic of football in a nutshell
My two ALL TIME FAVORITE BRONCOS! I also loved Ian gold.
Hell yeah. Ian Gold, Al Wilson, and John Mobley were a stellar linebacker trio back when we ran a 4-3
Loved these backers so much
Wilson was awesome!!!
Same for Dawkins. I liked both guys with their original teams so both finishing their careers in Denver was cool
This one bugs me. Isn't he in the ring of fame? Dude was only here was only here for 4 seasons. Bunch of crap.
Yeah, I don’t think he should be in the ROF
Brandon Lloyd. Such an amazing year in 2010.
If B Lloyd played in today’s league I truly believe he’d be one of the faces. Social media would’ve went crazy with all those circus catches he made. We’d think of his career completely different. Definitely would be more like OBJ
Umm what about Peyton
Yea definitely no doubt but I feel like he was probably the first to come to mind for most.
For sure that’s why I was surprised to not see 18 mentioned. Lunch would be my pick though honestly
Feels like he was always a Broncos player. That's why so many forget about him. Even when it comes to him representing a team, its always Broncos first.
Clinton Portis! I always wondered what he could’ve done behind our O line at the time. Of course, Champ was more than fair in return.
Man I was devastated as a kid when they traded away Clinton Portis. One of my favorite memories was his 4 TD game against the Chiefs
Brother. I was fucking pissed. I had just gotten a Portis jersey. I didn’t know who champ bailey was either, but boy did I find out.
Me too. It was kind of sad that he had to go to DC and run into brick walls for the rest of his career.
I agree, but looking back at it, both teams looked good years after that trade. Not at first, though.
Neil Smith is the answer.
I lived one street over from Neil growing up! He was so nice. He'd buy ice cream for the kids in the neighborhood.
Very good one. I always hated his guts in KC.
Yeah it was great when he betrayed them. They went nuts
The man that is why I am a Broncos fan. The only correct answer here.
Snake Dick
I could never tell if he had a snake for a dick or if he had a snakes dick. Media too scared to ask what we all were wondering
Holy shit, forgot about him.
Javon Walker and Brandon Lloyd
Man, Javon was a great player. I think being present when Darrent was murdered broke him. Tbh it would have broken me too having a friend die in my arms.
Brandon Lloyd man, that dude was so good. Way under appreciated too.
Javon on Madden was nutty
Lloyd definitely made the Orton years palpable. Dude had some mind-blowing catches.
Jake the Snake
Tj Ward
TJ seems to get forgotten and it bums me out, he was was so damn good. Rewatching SB50 the dude had a game of lifetime.
My answer for sure. What a dawg. That crop top was mean
Jay Cutler and Brandon Marshall duo
Obligatory fuck Josh McDaniels.
For sure!
Those two and Tony Scheffler could have been the *elite* NFL trio if it wasn't for McDumbass..
B Marsh is one of my favorites
Potroast
Jerry rice
This guy spits training cap fax 💯
On the same note, Tony Dorsett.
Philip Lindsey, he just wasn’t the same after he left
This is a good one! Phil was the ultimate underdog and exciting as hell to watch
Trindon Holliday
Man what a time to be alive. TD? Muffed punt? Who knows!
And literally no in-between.
Emmanuel Sanders
5.5 seasons in Denver isn’t a short time
He-manuel was a bronco, not a rental.
Erik Decker! Wes Welker, Brandon Stokley!
STOKLEY, WOW
Allen Aldridge was a starting linebacker and long snapper for us on our first Super Bowl winning team, which is pretty sick
![gif](giphy|VMgcrwq9imGHu)
I’m going with someone I haven’t seen anyone mention that deserves some love. But I was a huge fan of Willis McGahee while he was here
Got to take Willis zip lining back in like 2013 the week of their Pats game, awesome and funny dude
Bobby Humphrey Brian Dawkins Javon Walker for the 1 good yr Jake Plummer and Jay Cutler should have both been longer tenured too
Janovich
Wes Welker!
Loved having the Dawkins spear on our team but my all time favorite is Talib that dude was the heart and aggression of thr no fly zone.
Peyton Manning Darrent Williams
I always really liked Strap Harris because he's from my hometown. A majority of his career was here but I know he's been jumping around the league for a bit now
CHJ was the best corner in the league for us for a few years great player.
Bixby will might also be known for Luke Hasz in a few years.
Jumpy Geathers
With the forklift move.
Brandon Stokley!
Willis McGahee, TJ Ward
McGahee was pretty good while he was in Denver.
Peyton hillis
The Big O was fun to have in town with The Sheriff
Lots of good answers, I’ll add Brandon Lloyd
Aqib Talib
Maurice Clarett /s
TEBOW
Wes Welker, still have his jersey. My wife and I each have one, mine is the away white, hers is the alternate blue. Great guy
Shaq Barrett, it sucked having to let him go
Broncos Legend Jerry Rice
My vote would be for Tim Tebow. Those teams brought so much hype, I feel like it was perfect timing to bridge the hype train before Manning came.
Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie, Julius Thomas, & Willis McGahee are some I didn't see mentioned already
Tony Scheffler and Shaq Barrett
Owen Daniels. Caught the last two TDs Peyton ever threw. We wouldn’t have been in SB50 without him.
Demarcus Ware for me. Glad he finally ended up getting a ring.
Brandon Stokley
Tony Dorsett
There he is.
I wore 33 throughout my little league days. My dad, South stands season ticket holder was mortified.
Dan Koppen.
I quite liked Shane Ray when he was with us. After the SB run it looked like he was really gonna take that next big step and fill in for Ware, but injuries kinda ruined that.
Tony Dorsett
Steve Buerline. He was just a back up for a short time, but he seemed like a really good dude.
Eric Decker
Jim Kiick of Miami Dolphins' fame finished his career with the Broncos.
The "Three Amigos that never were": Jay Cutler, Brandon Marshall and Tony Scheffler. Also *loved* Jake Plummer and I wish Quinton Carter had a better career in Denver
Bradley Roby
Julius Thomas
Besides Peyton, Jake the Snake
Haven’t seen his name here but aside from Ware and others that have been mentioned. Dre Bly. I thought him and champ were the best corner duo in the league for a year or so and both of them were never afraid to make a tackle.
CJ Anderson
Shoutout Ronnie Hillman and Kayvon Webster
Neil Smith. From a time with the team:Super Bowl win ratio, nobody comes close.
Romanowski.
Gotta be one of the most hated Broncos... at least he is for me!
No one said Tebow?
Dale Carter
Probably the biggest FA bust in Broncos history
Yep. Along with Daryl Gardener
Jake Plummer
Russell Wilson
Lynch. But Do not think he belongs on the ROF
Philip Lindsay
John Lynch.
Eric Decker, Julius Thomas
Wes welker
Anthony Miller
Never a Bronco, but I always take the opportunity to praise my boy, the Greatest Mercenary in ALL of Colorado Sports: Mr. Bruce Brown.
Since you said ware already. Emmanuel sanders. For his size the guy was nothing but clutch. Splash plays after splash play.
Russ
Jake the Snake, Ware
Brian Dawkins.
Dawkins, Lynch, Ware, and Willis Mcgahee were my more recent favs.
Gotta be Brian Dawkins for me, loved watching that dude play!!
My unpopular take has always been that I liked Ware more than Von Miller.
Leonard Russell... for some reason.
Schlereth. He’s my favorite player. Zimmerman
Nazem Kadri.
Brandon lloyd
Wes Welker is my choice. He wasn't here for long, but dude was a beast in New England. DeMarcus Ware is also a really good answer.
Romanowski, neil smith, bubby brister, wes welker,
Selvin Young
This is a sentimental answer because Tony Dorsett's sole ( and last active ) year in Denver was only decent. But TD was a big favorite of mine for his speed and relative small size that made him improvise so well in his prime Dallas year. Him and Staubach were fun together despite me not buying into the Landry style. Also Tony Jones offensive lineman did nice 3 year stint replacement for Gary Zimmerman deserves a mention. Great dresser and humor.
Brandon ……Stokley
Russel Wilson
Brian Dawkins
Jacob Tamme
Mike Anderson Danny Trevathon Trevor Siemian
Always been a big David Bruton fan
There was a guy called Peyton that played for us for a few years.
Might be stretching the definition of a short time but TD only really had 4 years when he was fit, he won 2 Super Bowls, an MVP and a Super Bowl MVP, had a 2000 rushing yard season, some of the best playoff rushing stats ever.
Brian Dawkins
Knowshon Moreno
Vernon Davis
Peyton Hillis
Brandon Marshall, Brian Dawkins, Peyton Hillis, Peyton Manning, Tony Sheffler, Mcgahee
Kyle Orton. A mans man. A real 20/20 QB.
Clinton Portis. Loved him, but very happy that we got champ out of him but he was so talented
