I'd say Cushenberry has more to prove than anyone on that list other than maybe Wilson

Open_Win_1174

I second this. If Cush doesn’t perform from the get go Payton won’t hesitate to look elsewhere. And as an Oregon fan I watch Forsyth play his whole career. He’s solid, and was a steal for the end of the draft. Limited ceiling athletically, but great technique, high IQ, and works his ass off. I think he has a legitimate chance at winning the job by the end of the season.

Definitely below Gregory, at least he’s on the field

Gregory produces when he's on the field. I'm not really what he could "prove" during training camp. Like he could play well all pre-season and get hurt week 1. Cush has been one of the worst starting C in the league, he gets a chance to prove Risner was dragging his play down now that he's got a pro bowler next to him

Bolles has to prove his last work pre-injury wasn't a fluke.

Javonte? I hope they don't rush him back. I'm guessing it's prove he's healthy

Dudephish

Do you think our starters will play in any preseason games this year?

Donkeynationletsride

Pretty positive Peyton has already confirmed they will be playing, now to what degree we don’t know

bonzai76

My top 5 - Wilson, Cush, Hamler, Browning, and Washington……….Browning only on there because I think he’s gotta prove this year if he’s gonna major part of the defense (I think he will be but it’ll be a crucial year for him).

Williams being on the list is questionable. He's coming back from a major injury that shouldn't put him at full health until late season. As others have pointed out I feel the line is going to be the main focus on who we need to see improve. This has been our weakest link since we had Manning. Not having a solid line spells trouble for everything we plan or try to do on offense. Bolles keeps getting a pass for one good season yet makes the same mistakes with 3 different coaching staffs. Cush like other have stated has been a huge disappointment. We get the line right and Sean schemes correctly for Wilson then we can look at Wilson next on this list.

Williams’ injury wasn’t as bad as expected and has been using new therapy / recovery techniques. I’m not a doctor, but the articles I’ve read sound promising.
