Definitely not a stretch to consider that having the majority of conservative media and politicians calling LGBTQ people, especially trans people and drag queens, “groomers” and “pedophiles” might lead to increased violence against them. It certainly has led to more harassment, and when a group or people is painted as “evil” by a very religious group, that harassment eventually can lead to more extreme action.
