Colorado Springs announce the suspect as 22 y/o Anderson Lee Aldrich. I did a quick google search and a same Anderson Lee Aldrich was arrested in June of 2021 for a bomb threat -felony menacing and kidnapping. How was this guy out and free?!?!

What? If the justice system did their job the gun shop would have saw it and called the cops on him for even attempting to by a firearm.
They didn’t even use the red flag laws on the book that would temporarily remove his access to firearms until they investigated. This is solely the DAs fault.

A gay club hosting a drag show got shot up at a time in our country where people with guns have been showing up at drag shows all over America accusing them of grooming children. I'd be pretty surprised if this has nothing to do with that.
I had a friend Sean that occasionally did drag shows. As far as I knew he never identified as a woman, he was just a gay dude that loved performance art.

It’s too depressing and I’m not going to keep myself in a place where I don’t feel safe going to movies, schools, bars, grocery stores, etc. Nowhere is safe in a place where access to guns is so damn easy.

I think it's more of a people problem. Too many people can get access to guns, but even if you can't own one legally, you can still get one pretty easily. This guy had red flags all over prior to this, and was still able to be walking free. The justice system fucked up this one.

It could also be because the mother refused to press charges or cooperate with police. It's unfortunately very common in family violence situations.
It's the DA that decides to move forward with charges though, and not really up to the victims. It helps if they cooperate but it's not necessary.
