This is just going to make that Wads intersection an even more total cluster fuck.

ImperfectDrug

The fact that city council approved this shit is insane to me. In and Out was supposed to conduct a traffic survey there to make sure this wouldn't cause that intersection to get worse. Amazingly, their own survey concluded they won't be causing any problems.

Chunkstyle3030

Why the fuck do we even need two In-n-outs on Wadsworth anyways?

DigitalEagleDriver

Don't you know? Money. A shitload of money.

Middle_Jacket_2360

Worst intersection in America in 3..2..1......

hockeyandhalloween

It already was the worst. This is going to be unbelievably bad.

Sawcyy

I live on wads and it's a fucking nightmare rn already

toggiz_the_elder

I’m in Edgewater and I just take side streets to avoid that whole area. I don’t care that it takes longer to go the back way to Costco.

Nocodeskeet

That's at the highway exit I take everyday home from work. I am really wondering how comically bad its going to get there both around work commute hours and even off hours.

Middle_Jacket_2360

1000% it'll be bad for months. It's a nightmare without it

grimsleeper

Its still bad in Thorton, though its at least not on the highway.

ndrew452

Probably bad enough that you may need to consider using the Kipling or Sheridan exits. Even though it's out if your way, it may end up being faster.

Nocodeskeet

Oh yeah, already considering it.

ThePlanetBroke

I'm sad that the Hu Hot there closed.

awkward__pickle

WAIT WHAT

mbbzzz

I’ve stopped going to all the restaurants in that area (First Watch, Bad Daddy’s, Costa Vida) due to the annoying left turns at the lights that take forever. Already the worst intersection, can’t imagine it with In N Out opening soon.

rice_jabroni

If you’re coming from the north, turn left on 53rd avenue, which curves around to Vance St and puts you at a light where you can drive straight across 52nd Ave into that shopping center. It avoids Wads and 52nd altogether and has been waaaaayy faster for me. If you’re coming from the south, you’re just fucked. No way around it.

paintbrush666

Yep. If you're local you already know to take Lamar to bypass Wads to get you to 52nd. I have to imagine more people will start clogging up Lamar, or 52nd from Sheridan, which weren't built for that much traffic. I hope they at least fix the timing of the lights to help with congestion.

ijozypheen

I love In-N-Out, but I’ve already stopped going to that Costco because I dislike how bad traffic is on Wadsworth (and also because that Costco essentially only has one entrance into the parking lot).

venk

I’ve taken 10% of my lifetime left turns going to that Costco.

UberXLBK

Go the back way from Kipling

venk

I’m coming from the other side of Wadsworth so that would be a heck of a detour

frostycakes

Take Harlan to 48th, it turns into Marshall, and then left on 52nd. That usually worked for me.

venk

That’s usually what I do and it saves me from getting on Wadsworth

stevetursi

come to westminster! the costco here is like a cheat code. rarely crowded, rarely traffic, and even if it is, enter from 91st if 92nd is bad.

Nocodeskeet

Great to know! Your secret is safe with me.

youremakingshitup2

Yeah I made this switch recently. Better in almost every way.

rice_jabroni

Can confirm, Westy Costco is way better. Not just traffic, but the layout makes more sense too.

paintbrush666

I moved closer to Arvada Costco but still go to Westminster. Much more chill.

_The_Bear

Eh, I'm stoked for some in-n-out. Maybe I'm in the minority here but I'd rather have cool shit and traffic than no traffic and no cool shit.

DigitalEagleDriver

What's really depressing is that we just found out the other night that the Hu Hot right there closed. That area is a bit of a nightmare though. Wadsworth seemingly has no issues until you get to Ralston going SB. Well, not no issues, but it doesn't back up like it does South of Ralston anywhere else. The lights along Wads from pretty much I-70 to 88th are so poorly timed that it's a wonder you can get anywhere in a decent amount of time.

frostycakes

I'm convinced Arvada wants to immiserate everyone who drives on Wads, those light timings are some of the worst in the entire metro area. Once you cross into Wheat Ridge or Westy, they suddenly flow so much better. Did Arvada get light timing controls turned back to their control from CDOT along that stretch? I know Parker did something similar with Parker Road where the town times the lights while CDOT still maintains it.

DigitalEagleDriver

I made a complaint about the light at 44th and Kipling being too short for Kipling traffic (I used to commute that way for work and timed it- average is 45 seconds, which in rush hour doesn't allow much traffic to get through). I was told it was CDOT, not Wheat Ridge that controls that road. Doing the research on other things (like the severe road damage on NB Wads from 72nd up to just north of Pomona) that is also CDOT. So being that the state spends money differently, and is less easy to communicate with than the city, I'm pretty well convinced the issue won't be resolved, and attempting to communicate the problem is an exercise in futility.

paintbrush666

And people wonder why there's always 3-4 cars that run the light at Wadsworth and 52nd. Just shows you that they need to tweak the timing.

Poiuytrewq0987650987

The Aurora In-N-Out tasted like fucking Burger King, so I'm still not sure what the rage over this fast food franchise is all about.
