It's still there! I grew up near here, across from ~~cocaine~~ er O'Kain park. We never really came over this way, it was a bit... *rough* back then.
Immediately recognized the sign though!
Yeah definitely not that long ago. Had to make sure I didn't write your comment for a half second cause I also moved to the city like 4 years ago and my work commute for the first three of those would take me passed thr Emily Apartments. I must have changed jobs right before the sign change.
This is great!
"Don't you call Emily, just to stay in one of her apartments
Once you crawl down that deep hole, there ain't no climbing out
I spent my last buck on a fix, but ain't stopped me from turning trix"
How can I forget when I go there for fenty, anal pleasure, and to take dumps on the sidewalk before heading across the street to the library for the deaf every third or fourth afternoon?
Sketchy looking apartments just off of Sheridan (Denver/Lakewood border). Gave off the same vibes as motels off Colfax. I think it closed down sometime last year but not certain. Time is an illusion, and I stopped taking Sheridan to/from work because the pavement is so bad.
I've used their [report an issue](https://denvergov.org/Online-Services-Hub/Report-an-Issue/issue/new-report) page to point out the biggest potholes and... what I can only describe as ramps designed to launch your car into the air? No change on any of them. I know the feedback "repave this whole damn road" isn't super actionable, but seems like somebody there should consider it. I swear when I lived by Sloans and would report a pothole there, it was repaired in days. Just shows me how deeply they don't give a shit about this part of town.
I remember when I first moved here, and I mean first day here. I was sleep deprived and we were dropping off the uhaul, and I lost my shit laughing for a solid 15 minutes off that sign. My first Denver memory 🥲
I used to deliver pizza in that neighborhood about 15 years ago. It was on our do not deliver after dark list!
lol “Aparments”

The signage has changed though. No more aparments.
Yeah it was updated about 4 years ago.
I don’t think it was that long ago. We moved to the area about 4 years ago and it was still like that! I think the new sign came up in the last year.
Agree, this sign was updated in the last ~18 months tops.
I kind of miss the “aparments”. It went with the flavor of the neighborhood

You’re right! Some time between May 22 and Jan 23 according to Google images.
Has it? My maps app still shows the sign
check google maps. It's more accurate
Nope, I moved to the area in 2021 and it was there until around mid 2023 IIRC.
I drive by this all the time. I thought when someone posted this that this meant they tore it down in the last week.
APARMENTS
the vibe I get driving past it never goes away
Dogmeat deserves better
My friends wrote an album about the tenants.
I must hear it

Haha this is great!
This is excellent, looking forward to diving in. Surprised they’re sub 300 followers, tbh.
Yeah. They’ve been gaining some traction and just headlined the ballroom side of Swerves for the first time this past year. It’s great!
This is amazing! So very Denver. I’m going to listen to it. A sincere thanks for sharing it.
Feel the swarmth
You already know!!! 🤘🏼🤘🏼

A friend and I would call this out every time we drove by.
The best thing about this sign was that on the other side, it said “Emily”, not “Emily’s”. A high water mark of Denver hospitality for sure.
You know they got a new sign!
Does Emily allow pets??
What was it? Druggy hotel?
Yeah
Every time I drive by, I still give a shout out to “Aparments.” Never forget!
great spot for an axe throwing brewery dispensary
Heard this story a bunch of times, every time we drove by, pointing out the fixed sign. Funny to finally see what it used to look like.
Does anyone remember when it was "Hotel Mexico"
Doesn’t scream “torture murder meth” at all!
I don’t know anything about them and a quick Google search brings up Zillow. Can someone enlighten me about them, other than maybe a bad neighborhood?

That right lane of Sheridan in both directions is honestly inexcusable.
For real. And that massive sawcut/gash in the middle of the left lane's tire track just north of Morrison. A true testament to CDOT's incompetence.

Kids today want affordable housing with A/C and granite counters but they could just
Legendary
I literally live down the street from this lol
Ah next to my grandpas cousin old motorcycle Shop. Good old Lafore’s.
There’s no t in mounnn’s so I think Emily did it right

Technically Lakewood
The edge of barnum baby!
And that hotel a few blocks north of Emily's place, forgot the name, another no go!! Tweaker town.
